The natural vibrations of orthotropic shells are considered in a three-dimensional formulation for different versions of the boundary conditions on the faces: rigid clamping rigid clamping, rigid clamping free surface, and mixed conditions. Asymptotic solutions of the corresponding dynamic equations of the three-dimensional problem of the theory of elasticity are obtained. The principal values of the frequencies of natural vibrations are determined. It is shown that three types of natural vibrations occur in the shell: two shear vibrations and a longitudinal vibration, which are due solely to the boundary conditions on the faces. It is proved that each boundary layer has its own natural frequency. The boundary-layer functions are determined and the rates at which they decrease with distance from the faces inside the shell are established.  相似文献

We solve state observation problems for string vibrations, i.e., problems in which the initial conditions generating the observed string vibrations should be reconstructed from a given string state at two distinct time instants. The observed vibrations are described by the boundary value problem for the wave equation with homogeneous boundary conditions of the first kind. The observation problem is considered for classical and L 2-generalized solutions of this boundary value problem.  相似文献

Free across-the-thickness vibrations of a closed spherical shell consisting of three rigidly connected layers with arbitrary physical constants and thicknesses are studied. A closed-form solution in displacements to a one-dimensional (along the radius) vibration problem for a homogeneous spherical shell is derived and then used in posing a boundary-value problem on free vibrations of a heterogeneous sphere. Based on the degeneration of the sixth-order determinant of a system of homogeneous equations satisfying the corresponding boundary conditions, a transcendental equation for eigenfrequencies is found. Transformation variants for the equation of eigenfrequencies in the cases of degeneration of physical and geometric parameters of the compound shell are considered. The main attention in investigating the lowest frequency is given to its dependence on the structure of shell wall, whose parameters greatly affect the calculated values of the high-frequency vibration spectrum of the shell. Small free vibrations of an infinitely long rotating cylindrical shell being in contact with rigid cylindrical rollers are considered. A system of linear differential equations for the vibrations of such a shell is derived. By using the Fourier transform of the solutions in the circumferential coordinate, a system of algebraic equations for approximately determining the vibration frequencies and mode shapes is obtained. It is shown that, for any number n of uniformly distributed rollers, the approximate values of the first n frequencies and mode shapes can be found explicitly. On the basis of the orthogonal sweep method, an algorithm for numerically solving the boundary value eigenvalue problem describing the vibrations of a rotating shell is developed. Analytical and numerical results are compared. The obtained approximate formulas for frequencies and the numerical algorithm can be used to design centrifugal concentrators for ore enrichment.  相似文献

A nonlinear loaded differential equation with a parameter on a finite interval is studied. The interval is partitioned by the load points, at which the values of the solution to the equation are set as additional parameters. A nonlinear boundary value problem for the considered equation is reduced to a nonlinear multipoint boundary value problem for the system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with parameters. For fixed parameters, we obtain the Cauchy problems for ordinary differential equations on the subintervals. Substituting the values of the solutions to these problems into the boundary condition and continuity conditions at the partition points, we compose a system of nonlinear algebraic equations in parameters. A method of solving the boundary value problem with a parameter is proposed. The method is based on finding the solution to the system of nonlinear algebraic equations composed.  相似文献

Double-curved-beam (DCB) systems are usually seen in many engineering fields. Compared to straight double-beam systems, DCB systems are more efficient in noise and vibration control problems. To obtain closed-form solutions of steady-state forced vibrations of DCB systems, the classical Euler-Bernoulli curved beam (ECB) model was employed to model vibration equations for the DCB systems. Green’s functions and the Laplace transform methods were used to get the closed-form solutions to the vibration equations for the DCB systems. These solutions apply to arbitrary boundary conditions. Numerical tests were conducted to verify the present solutions with related results from previous literatures. Effects of some important geometric and physical parameters on vibration responses and the interaction between the elastic layer stiffness and the DCB system, were discussed. The results show that, the DCB system will degenerate to a straight double-beam system when the 2 radii approach infinity, moreover, the DCB system can be simplified as one comprising a straight beam and a curved beam. © 2023 Editorial Office of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics. The two-dimensional problem of the normal incidence of a plane transverse wave from the far field on to the free surface of an elastic double-layered half-space, comprising a homogeneous layer attached to a semi-infinite base of a different elastic material, is considered. At the boundary between the two media there is a system of plane cracks, arranged periodically along the separation line, which models the fracture zone at the interface between dense solid rock and soft sedimentary rock. The effect of the fractures on the transmission of a transverse seismic wave generated by a deep-focus earthquake, and of the type of vibrations of the free surface of the ground that result, is studied. It is difficult to predict whether the seismic wave is strengthened or weakened by the fracture zone. The effect of the system of cracks on vibrations of the free surface largely depends on the physical and geometrical parameters and, primarily, on the vibration frequencies.  相似文献

This paper presents a very first combined application of Ritz method and differential quadrature (DQ) method to vibration problem of rectangular plates. In this study, the spatial partial derivatives with respect to a coordinate direction are first discretized using the Ritz method. The resulting system of partial differential equations and the related boundary conditions are then discretized in strong form using the DQ method. The mixed method combines the simplicity of the Ritz method and high accuracy and efficiency of the DQ method. The results are obtained for various types of boundary conditions. Comparisons are made with existing analytical and numerical solutions in the literature. Numerical results prove that the present method is very suitable for the problem considered due to its simplicity, efficiency, and high accuracy.  相似文献

The problem on free vibrations of wide sandwich beams is tackled in this paper. Torsional and warping effects in addition to flexure are included in the formulation of the dynamic problem. In order to show the effects of bending-torsion coupling and warping on the natural frequencies and the corresponding vibration modes, three cases are considered. First, the warping and torsion effects are neglected, second, the effect of warping on the coupling terms is neglected, and third, the effect of warping on the coupling terms is included. The viscoelastic core is modeled by elastic translational and rotational springs. The finite-difference method is used to solve the partial differential equations of motion with different boundary conditions for the top and bottom layers. Results for different materials, fiber orientations, depth-to-width ratios, and boundary conditions are found. The natural frequencies and the corresponding vibration modes obtained are in a good agreement with those cited in the literature. The mathematical modeling of optimal control system problems is a method applied in industry to obtain correct electrical and mechanical design parameters once the system equations have been derived. The algorithms required to implement the control loop for these applications must provide stable, relatively accurate, efficient solutions.The purpose of this paper is to address the computational characteristics which would concern a system designer in the consideration of the selection of an effective algorithm to implement a two-point boundary value problem solution. Three Invariant Imbedding Algorithms are evaluated for a worst case and a best case problem by an adaptation of four methods of analysis. The areas of computer science, numerical analysis and Turing Machine Theory are drawn upon in these methods to implement and compare the computational form of the algorithms. The four analysis techniques indicated consistent results for the three two-point boundary value problem algorithms considered. Applications of two-point boundary value problem algorithms occur in problems of nuclear reactor heat transfer, pollution control, fluidics, vibration and magnetics.  相似文献

The linear vibration of a heavy non-uniform thread is investigated for different boundary conditions at the ends and taking an arbitrary additional tension into account. The thread is assumed to be ideal and inextensible and the motion takes place in a plane which may rotate about the vertical axis at constant angular velocity. A general scheme for solving the initial- and boundary value problem is proposed. Attention is focused mainly on the effective computation of the natural frequencies and mode of vibration. Given specific parametric types of mass distribution for the thread, sufficiently complete families of solutions describing the principal modes of vibration are constructed. Based on these families, stability and instability domains are constructed effectively, in terms of the system parameters, for a plane vibration of a rotating heavy thread subject to concentrated tension. New mechanical effects, of possible interest in practice, are observed and discussed.  相似文献

A variant of vibration theory for three-layered shells of revolution under axisymmetric loads is elaborated by applying independent kinematic and static hypotheses to each layer, with account of transverse normal and shear strains in the core. Based on the Reissner variational principle for dynamic processes, equations of nonlinear vibrations and natural boundary conditions are obtained. The numerical method proposed for solving initial boundary-value problems is based on the use of integrodifferential approach for constructing finite-difference schemes with respect to spatial and time coordinates. Numerical solutions are obtained for dynamic deformations of open three-layered spherical and ellipsoidal shells, over a wide range of geometric and physical parameters of the core, for different types of boundary conditions. A comparative analysis is given for the results of investigating the dynamic behavior of three-layered shells of revolution by the equations proposed and the shell equations of Timoshenko and Kirhhoff-Love type, with the use of unified hypotheses across the heterogeneous structure of shells.  相似文献

An axisymmetric problem of longitudinal free vibrations of piezoceramic hollow cylinders for some types of boundary conditions on the end faces is considered. The lateral surfaces of the cylinder are covered with thin short-circuited electrodes. The polarization of piezoceramics is directed along the axis of the cylinder. Using the method of separation of variables and method of spline collocation along the length of the cylinder, we reduce the problem to a system of ordinary differential equations, which is solved by the method of step-by-step search. We present results of calculations for a PZT 4 piezoceramic cylinder.  相似文献

The propagation of thermoelastic waves along circumferential direction in homogeneous, isotropic, cylindrical curved solid plates with voids has been investigated in the context of linear generalized theory of thermoelasticity. The plate is subjected to stress free or rigidly fixed, thermally insulated or isothermal boundary conditions. Mathematical modeling of the problem for the considered cylindrical curved plate with voids leads to a system of coupled partial differential equations. The model has been simplified by using the Helmholtz decomposition technique and the resulting equations are solved by using the method of separation of variables. The formal solution obtained by using Bessel’s functions with complex arguments is utilized to derive the secular equations which govern the wave motion in the plate with voids. The longitudinal shear motion and axially symmetric shear vibration modes get decoupled from the rest of the motion in contrast to non-axially symmetric plane strain vibrations. These modes remain unaffected due to thermal variations and presence of voids. In order to illustrate theoretical developments, numerical solutions have been carried out for a stress free, thermally insulated or isothermal magnesium plate and are presented graphically. The obtained results are also compared with those available in the literature.  相似文献

用直接数值积分法求非线性振动系统的周期解,求解时对初始条件进行迭代,使它与终点条件相一致.积分时间区间(即周期)或运动方程中的某些参数,也可在迭代过程中随同变化,积分方法是变步长的. 用这种“打靶”法求周期解,所需计算工作量相对较少.其中误差主要来源于数值积分,故不难估计并控制它足够小.这种方法可处理各种类型的振动问题,如单自由度和多自由度系统的自由无阻尼振动、强迫振动、自激振动和参数振动等等;也能求得不稳定解和那些对参数变动十分敏感的解.解的稳定性根据相关的周期系数微分方程来研究.求共振曲线或其他振动特性曲线时,利用插值方法并自动调节步长来定出迭代始值. 为了阐明这种方法的通用性,计算了若干例子.非线性的描述可用解析函数或任何其他形式,例如分段线性函数.文中还就所得周期解指出了非线性振动的一些值得注意的性质.部分计算结果与已有的近似解或实验结果作了比较.  相似文献

The problem of transverse vibrations of a thin elastic plate is considered. It is proved that the differential operators of the boundary value problem are regularly elliptic, and weak solutions are estimated. For a previously developed difference method, the solution to the difference problem is proved to converge strongly to a weak solution of the original differential problem and the rate of convergence is estimated.  相似文献
