Recent developments in the synthesis and applications of the cucurbit[n]uril family of synthetic hosts has led to an increasing interest in the detailed studies of their interactions with a wide variety of guests. This paper describes a quantitative study of the effects of the number and placement of positive charges on the binding of viologen guests to cucurbit[7]uril and cucurbit[8]uril. A series of viologen derivatives with one to four charges was characterised by isothermal titration calorimetry, 1H NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to determine the stoichiometry, affinity and mode of binding. These data show that stoichiometry can be controlled by the placement of charge, and that affinity can be increased by the addition of positive charges. This study should serve as a guide for the design of supramolecular structures built from viologens and cucurbit[n]urils.

Geometries, electronic properties and NMR-shielding of cucurbit[5]uril, decamethylcucurbit[5]uril, cucurbit[6]uril, cucurbit[7]uril, and cucurbit[8]uril are investigated with DFT calculations. All molecules are highly symmetrical with a distinct geometric flexibility. In addition with a characteristic partial charge distribution these findings account for their chemical complex building ability.  相似文献

本文报道了2种新的部分甲基取代瓜环配合物的晶体结构,利用X-射线单晶衍射技术表征了2种配合物的结构,在CdCl2溶液中,1,2,4,5-八甲基六元瓜环选择性的包结客体分子1,2-(2,2′-bisbenzimidazolyl)ethanedichloride,形成2∶1的哑铃型主客体包结配合物;而1,2,4-六甲基五元瓜环(HMeQ[5])与钠离子配位形成包结一个水分子的"分子胶囊","分子胶囊"之间通过氢键自组装形成一维的超分子长链。  相似文献

The synthesis of two supramolecular diruthenium complexes, 1 ?CB[7] and 1 ?CB[8] (CB[n]=cucurbit[n]uril), which contain the respective host CB[7] and CB[8], were synthesized and isolated. In the case of host CB[8], the desired supramolecular complex was obtained by utilizing dihydroxynapthalene as a template during the synthesis. The 1H NMR spectra, electrochemistry, and photochemistry of these supramolecular complexes were performed in nonaqueous solution. The results show that both CB[7,8] hosts mainly bind to the linker part in solution in acetonitrile. This binding also lowers the oxidation potential of the ruthenium metal center and hinders the quenching effect by the viologen moiety. It has also been shown that external methylviologen can be included into 1 ?CB[8]. Analysis with NMR spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and photochemistry clearly shows a viologen radical dimer formation between the bound viologen and free methylviologen, thereby showing that the unique abilities of the CB[8] host can be utilized even in nonaqueous solution.  相似文献

A simple way to prepare cucurbit[5]uril is described. The macrocycles of the cucurbituril type are nearly insoluble in water. The solubilities of cucurbit[5]uril, decamethylcucurbit[5]uril and cucurbit[6]uril in hydrochloric acid, formic acid and acetic acid of different concentrations have been investigated. Due to the formation of complexes between cucurbit[n]urils and protons the solubility increases in aqueous acids. The macrocyclic ligands are able to form complexes with several organic compounds. Thus, the complex formation of the cucurbituril macrocycles with different amines has beenstudied by means of calorimetric titrations. The reaction enthalpy gives noevidence of the formation of inclusion or exclusion complexes. 1H-NMR measurements show that in the case of cucurbit[5]uril and cucurbit[6]uril the organic guest compound is included within the hydrophobic cavity. Decamethylcucurbit[5]uril forms only exclusion complexes with organicamines. This was confirmed by the crystal structure of the decamethylcucurbit[5]uril-1,6-diaminohexane complex.  相似文献

Achieving strong host–guest interactions between synthetic hosts and hydrophilic guests in solution is challenging because solvation effects overwhelm other effects. To resolve this issue, we transferred complexes of cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and monosaccharides to the gas phase and report here their intrinsic host–guest chemistry in the absence of solvation effects. It was observed that effective host–guest interactions in the gas phase mediated by ammonium cations allow the differentiation of the monosaccharide isomers in complex with CB[7] upon vibrational excitation. The potential of the unique observation was extended to a quantitative supramolecular analytical method for the monosaccharide guests. The combination of host–guest chemistry and phase transfer presented in this study is an effective approach to overcome current limitations in supramolecular chemistry.  相似文献

Crystals of the {[Sr4(H2O)12(NO3)4](C36H36N24O12)}(NO3)4·3H2O and {[Sr2(H2O)12][Sr(H2O)3(NO3)2]2(C48H48N32O16)}(NO3)4·8H2O were prepared by slow concentration of aqueous solutions containing strontium nitrate and macrocyclic cavitands, viz., cucurbit[6]uril and cucurbit[8]uril ([C6H6N4O2] n , n = 6 and 8), respectively. According to the results of X-ray diffraction analysis, the crystal structures of these supramolecular compounds are built from polymeric chains, which consist of the alternating cucurbit[n]uril molecules and Sr2+ cations linked through the bridging aqua ligands and nitrate anions. The supramolecular compound of cucurbit[8]uril provides the first example of compounds in which this macrocycle is bound to metal aqua complexes.  相似文献

超分子化学的发展一直是众多研究者所关注的一大热点,葫芦[n]脲作为第四代大环主体分子,拓宽了超分子化学领域的发展。水凝胶是一种具有可拉伸性、生物相容性、环境响应性等多种优异性能的软材料。人们充分利用葫芦[n]脲优异的分子识别能力和配位能力,研究出了一系列具有特殊功能的超分子水凝胶材料。本文在结合葫芦[n]脲特点的基础上,着重论述了葫芦[n]脲水凝胶在(刺激响应性、粘附性、自愈合性)功能性材料、(药物传递、伤口敷料、仿生)生物医学材料、超分子发光材料等领域的研究前沿和动态,并且对葫芦[n]脲水凝胶的主要设计思路进行了讨论。最后,针对当前存在的问题以及未来可能的发展方向对葫芦[n]脲水凝胶的研究前景作出了展望。  相似文献

A supramolecular adduct of gadolinium aqua nitrato complex and cucurbit[6]uril { [Gd(NO3)(H2O)7](C5H5N)@(C36H36N24O12)}(NO3)2·10H2O is obtained by slow diffusion of methanol into an aqueous solution containing gadolinium nitrate, pyridine, and cucurbit[6]uril. According to single crystal X-ray diffraction data, water molecules coordinated to metal atom make hydrogen bonds to polarized carbonyl groups of the macrocycle. The heptaaquanitratogadolinium(III) [Gd(NO3)(H2O)7]2+ cation is structurally characterized for the first time. Crystal system is triclinic, space group \(P\overline 1 \), a = 12.3137(4) Å, b = 14.2334(5) Å, c = 19.5629(6) Å; α = 80.850(1)°, β = 86.879(1)°, γ = 68.855(1)°; V = 3157.15(18) Å3, Z = 2. Oriented hydrogen-bonded chains of alternating cucurbit[6]uril molecules and gadolinium aqua cations form in the crystal structure.  相似文献

设计并合成了两个五员瓜环(Q[5])桥联K+和Na+形成的新型配合物[K(H2O)2Na(H2O)Q[5]](ClO4)2·6H2O(1),[KNaH(H2O)4Q[5]]n(ClO4)3n·3nH2O(2)。利用单晶X射线衍射进行结构测定,结果表明,配合物1中Q[5]起着一个双五齿配体的作用,每个端口的5个羰基氧原子分别和钾离子和钠离子配位,形成分子胶囊;配合物2中每个钾离子分别通过与相邻的2个Q[5]端口的相邻一对羰基氧原子配位,使得配合物形成一维链状结构,同时Q[5]还提供1个羰基氧原子与Na+配位,氢键使得配合物形成三维超分子结构。  相似文献

The use of cucurbit[8]uril as a molecular host has emerged in the chemical literature as a reliable strategy for the creation of dynamic chemical systems, owing to its ability to form homo‐ and heteroternary complexes in aqueous media with appropriate molecular switches as guests. In this manner, CB[8]‐based supramolecular switches can be designed in a predictable and modular fashion, through the selection of appropriate guests able to condition the redox, photochemical, or pH‐triggered behavior of tailored multicomponent systems. Furthermore, CB[8] allows the implementation of dual/triple and linear/orthogonal stimuli‐dependent properties into these molecular devices by a careful selection of the guests. This versatility in their design gives these supramolecular switches great potential for the rational development of new materials, in which their function is not only determined by the custom‐made stimuli‐responsiveness, but also by the transient aggregation/disaggregation of homo‐ or heteromeric building blocks.  相似文献

The control over chemical reactivity and selectivity are always pursued. Using non-covalent interactions to achieve efficient and selective catalysis is an essential goal of supramolecular catalysis. Supramolecular catalysis based on cucurbit[n]urils (CB[n]s) possesses distinct characteristics for the unique structure of CB[n]s. CB[n]s are a family of pumpkin-shaped host molecules with various molecular sizes, rigid structures, electronegative portals and wealthy host-guest chemistry. Herein, we summarize the three major mechanisms of CB[n]s based supramolecular catalysis. Owing to the structural properties of CB[n]s, CB[n]s can serve as nanoreactors and steric hindrance to modulate the reactivity of substrates. They can also catalyze the reactions by modulating the reactivity of ionized intermediates. Recent progresses on the CB[n]s based supramolecular catalysis are introduced in this Minireview and the future development in this field is discussed. It is anticipated that this review provides insights into the mechanism of CB[n]s based supramolecular catalysis and may help scientists find new opportunities in this field.  相似文献

In the adduct, copper ion is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from H2O. The ability to construct self‐healing scaffolds that are injectable and capable of forming a designed morphology offers the possibility to engineer sustainable materials. Herein, we introduce supramolecular nested microbeads that can be used as building blocks to construct macroscopic self‐healing scaffolds. The core–shell microbeads remain in an “inert” state owing to the isolation of a pair of complementary polymers in a form that can be stored as an aqueous suspension. An annealing process after injection effectively induces the re‐construction of the microbead units, leading to supramolecular gelation in a preconfigured shape. The resulting macroscopic scaffold is dynamically stable, displaying self‐recovery in a self‐healing electronic conductor. This strategy of using the supramolecular assembled nested microbeads as building blocks represents an alternative to injectable hydrogel systems, and shows promise in the field of structural biomaterials and flexible electronics.  相似文献

利用核磁共振波谱、 紫外吸收光谱、 荧光光谱和单晶X射线衍射分析等考察了六元瓜环(Q[6])及对称四甲基六元瓜环(TMeQ[6])与2,2'-(1,8-辛烷)-二异喹啉二溴化物的相互作用. 实验结果表明, 客体分子分别与这2种瓜环自组装形成相似的1∶1包结配合物, 但晶体结构分析结果表明两个体系在主客体分子间作用力诱导下形成了不同的空间堆积模式, 其包结常数分别为KK8-Q[6]=4.18×107 L/mol, KK8-TMeQ[6]=6.11×107 L/mol.  相似文献
