Densities (ρ) for binary systems of (1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, or 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene + propyl acetate, or butyl acetate) were determined at four temperatures (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K over the full mole fraction range. The excess molar volumes (VE) calculated from the density data show that the deviations from ideal behaviour in the systems (all being positive, excepting 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene + butyl acetate system) become more positive with the temperature increasing. Surface tensions (σ) of these binary systems were measured at the same temperatures (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K by the pendant drop method, the surface tension deviations (δσ) for all system are negative, and decrease with the temperature increasing. The VE and δσ are fitted to the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation. Surface tensions were also used to estimate surface entropy (Sσ) and surface enthalpy (Hσ).  相似文献

Densities of the (methanol + benzene), (ethanol + benzene), (methanol + chlorobenzene) and (ethanol + chlorobenzene) mixtures have been measured at six temperatures (288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K) and 101.33 kPa. Excess molar volumes VE were determined and fitted by the Redlich–Kister equation. It was observed that in all cases VE increases with rising of temperature. The values of limiting excess partial molar volumes have been calculated, as well. The obtained results have been analysed in terms of specific molecular interactions present in these mixtures taking into considerations effect of temperature on them. The correlation of VE binary data was performed with the Peng–Robinson–Stryjek–Vera cubic equation of state (PRSV CEOS) coupled with the van der Waals (vdW1) and CEOS/GE mixing rule introduced by Twu, Coon, Bluck and Tilton (TCBT). The experimental values of VE were compared with those estimated by both mixing rules at the temperature range and on each temperature, separately.  相似文献

The measurement of excess enthalpies, HE, at T=298.15 K and densities at temperatures between 283.15 K and 313.15 K are reported for the (2-methoxyethanol + 1,4-dioxane) and (1,2-dimethoxyethane + benzene) systems. The values of HE and the excess volumes, VE, are positive, and the temperature dependence of VE is quite small for (2-methoxyethanol + 1,4-dioxane). The (1,2-dimethoxyethane + benzene) system shows a negative HE and sigmoid curves in VE, which change sign from positive to negative with an increase in 1,2-dimethoxyethane. The temperature dependence of VE for this system is negative.  相似文献

The excess molar volumes VmE at T=298.15 have been determined in the whole composition domain for (2-methoxyethanol + tetrahydrofuran + cyclohexane) and for the parent binary mixtures. Data on VmE are also reported for (2-ethoxyethanol + cyclohexane). All binaries showed positive VmE values, small for (methoxyethanol + tetrahydrofuran) and large for the other ones. The ternary VmE surface is always positive and exhibits a smooth trend with a maximum corresponding to the binary (2-methoxyethanol + cyclohexane). The capabilities of various models of either predicting or reproducing the ternary data have been compared. The behaviour of VmE and of the excess apparent molar volume of the components is discussed in both binary and ternary mixtures. The results suggest that hydrogen bonding decreases with alcohol dilution and increases with the tetrahydrofuran content in the ternary solutions.  相似文献

Densities (ρ) and speed of sound (u) of the binary mixtures of 1-octanol and 1-decanol with dodecane and ternary mixture of {1-octanol + tributyl phosphate (TBP) + dodecane} were measured at temperatures from (298.15 to 323.15) K over the entire composition range and at atmospheric pressure. Using these experimentally determined quantities, the excess molar volume (VE), excess isentropic compressibility (κsE) for the binary mixtures and internal pressure (pi) of (alcohol + dodecane) binary mixtures have been calculated. The deviations shown by the excess quantities have been interpreted in terms of intermolecular interactions and structure of components. Using Hildebrand regular solution theory, several other parameters like the enthalpy and entropy of mixing of the binary components have been obtained. From acoustic measurements, the probable dimerization constant of the alcohols has also been determined. The values of these parameters give an indication of the subtle structural changes that occur in these binary mixtures.  相似文献

The vapor pressures of (ethanol + glycerol) and (water + glycerol) binary mixtures were measured by means of two static devices at temperatures between (273 and 353 (or 363)) K. The data were correlated with the Antoine equation. From these data, excess Gibbs free energy functions (GE) were calculated for several constant temperatures and fitted to a fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation using the Barker method. The (ethanol + glycerol) binary system exhibits positive deviations in GE where for the (water + glycerol) mixture, the GE is negative for all temperatures investigated over the whole composition. Additionally, the NRTL, UNIQUAC and Modified UNIFAC (Do) models have been used for the correlation or prediction of the total pressure.  相似文献

In the present work, density and viscosity of two binary mixtures of N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) and diethanolamine (DEA) with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([bmim][acetate]) are measured. The experiments were carried out at atmospheric pressure and at T = (293.15 to 343.15) K for density and from 293.15 K to 353.15 K for viscosity over the whole range of mole fraction. Using the density and viscosity results, several physical and thermodynamic properties such as excess molar volumes (VE), coefficients of thermal expansions (α), viscosity deviation (Δη),molar activation entropy (ΔS), molar activation enthalpy (ΔH) and molar activation Gibbs free energy (ΔG) for these binary mixtures are calculated. The experimental results of the density and viscosity for the pure systems as well as the binary systems show a decrease with increasing temperature as expected. The results of density measurements show that over all ranges of temperatures investigated the density of the pure components show the following trend: DEA > [bmim][acetate] > MDEA. Therefore, in the binary mixtures of the (MDEA + [bmim][acetate]), the density of the mixture reduces with decreasing concentration of the ionic liquid and for the (DEA + [bmim][acetate]) mixture the density of the blend enhances to reduce the concentration of the ionic liquid. Moreover, the calculated excess molar volumes show a positive deviation from ideality for the two binary mixtures. The behaviour of change of viscosity against concentration for the (MDEA + [bmim][acetate]) system is different from the (DEA + [bmim][acetate]) mixture so that for the first system the value of the viscosity rises with increasing [bmim][acetate] mole fraction, but in the second system there is a minimum viscosity point in the DEA-rich region.  相似文献

Molar excess enthalpies, HE, for pyridine (i) + α-picoline (j), + β-picoline (j), + γ-picoline (j); pyridine (i) + cyclohexane (j); β-picoline (i) + cyclohexane (j); methylenebromide (i) + pyridine (j), + β-picoline (j) mixtures have been measured calorimetrically as a function of temperature and composition. The HE data at 298.15 and 308.15 K have been analysed in terms of the Sanchez and Lacombe theory and the “graph theoretical approach”. The graph theoretical approach describes the HE data well for all these mixtures. This approach has been critically examined and it is found to provide an insight into the nature of molecular interactions between the components of these mixtures. NMR studies on methylene bromide (i) + β-picoline (j) andβ-picoline (i) + pyridine (j) further support these conclusions.  相似文献

The density, ultrasonic velocity, and viscosity of binary mixtures of (anisaldehyde + o-cresol, or +m-cresol, or +p-cresol) have been measured over the entire range of composition at T = (303.15, 308.15, 313.15, and 318.15) K. Using these data, various thermo-acoustic parameters such as deviation in adiabatic compressibility, Δβ, excess molar volume, VE, viscosity deviation, Δη and excess Gibb’s free energy of activation for viscous flow, ΔG1E have been calculated. The calculated deviation and excess functions have been fitted to the Redlich–Kister polynomial equation. The negative and positive values of deviation or excess thermo-acoustic parameters observed have been explained on the basis of the intermolecular interactions present in these mixtures.  相似文献

Isothermal (vapour  +  liquid) equilibria were measured for (trichloromethane  +  tetrahydropyran or piperidine) at T =  333.15 K and {1-bromo-1-chloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethane (halothane)  +  tetrahydropyran or piperidine} atT =  323.15 K with a circulation still. The results were verified by effective statistical procedures and used to calculate activity coefficients and excess molar Gibbs free energiesGmE . Excess molar enthalpiesHmE for these mixtures were determined at T =  298.15 K by means of an isothermal CSC microcalorimeter equipped with recently reconstructed flow mixing cells. Reliable performance of the calorimetric setup was proved by the good agreement of HmEfor (hexane  +  cyclohexane), (2-propanone  +  water), and (methanol  +  water), with the best literature results. The trichloromethane- or halothane-containing mixtures exhibit strong negative deviations from Raoult’s law and are highly exothermic, thus indicating that complex formation via hydrogen bonding is a governing nonideality effect. A close similarity in the behaviour of corresponding mixtures with trichloromethane and halothane is observed, but for halothane-containing mixtures,GmE and HmEare consistently more negative, confirming that halothane is a more powerful proton donor than chloroform.  相似文献

The densities of (heptane + 1-chlorobutane, or 1-chloropentane, or 1-chlorohexane) were measured at the temperatures (308.15, 318.15, and 328.15) K by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes, VmE, calculated from the density data, along with our previous data(1) determined at T=298.15 K for the same systems, provide the temperature dependence of VmE in the temperature range of 298 to 328 K. The VmE results were correlated using the fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation, with the maximum likelihood principle applied for the determination of the adjustable parameters. It was found that the deviations from ideal behaviour (both positive and negative) in the systems studied increase with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Excess molar enthalpies HmEand excess molar volumesVmE of (1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone  +  benzene, or methylbenzene, or 1,2-dimethylbenzene, or 1,3-dimethylbenzene, or 1,4-dimethylbenzene, or 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene, or ethylbenzene) over the whole range of compositions have been measured at T =  298.15 K. The excess molar enthalpy values were positive for five of the seven systems studied and the excess molar volume values were negative for six of the seven systems studied. The excess enthalpy ranged from a maximum of 435 J · mol  1for (1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazoline  +  1,3,5-trimethylbenzene) to a minimum of   308 J · mol  1for (1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazoline  +  benzene). The excess molar volume values ranged from a maximum of 0.95cm3mol  1 for (1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazoline  +  ethylbenzene) and a minimum of   1.41 cm3mol  1for (1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazoline  +  methylbenzene). The Redlich–Kister polynomial was used to correlate both the excess molar enthalpy and the excess molar volume data and the NRTL and UNIQUAC models were used to correlate the enthalpy of mixing data. The NRTL equation was found to be more suitable than the UNIQUAC equation for these systems. The results are discussed in terms of the polarizability of the aromatic compound and the effect of methyl substituents on the benzene ring.  相似文献

Excess molar enthalpies of (2- butanone  +  cyclohexane, or methylcyclohexane, or toluene, or chlorobenzene, or cyclohexanone) and excess molar heat capacities of (2- butanone  +  benzene, or toluene, or chlorobenzene, or cyclohexanone) were measured atT =  298.15 K. Aliphatic systems were endothermic and the chlorobenzene system was exothermic. On the other hand, the toluene system changed sign to be S-shaped similar to the benzene system reported by Kiyohara et al. The values of excess molar enthalpies of the present mixtures were slightly larger than the corresponding mixtures of cyclohexanone already reported. Excess molar heat capacities of aromatic systems were characteristically S-shaped for the mixture containing aromatics. The values of the present mixtures were less than the corresponding mixtures of cyclohexanone. The mixture (2-butanone  +  cyclohexanone) was endothermic forHmE and negative for Cp,mE.  相似文献

Densities of binary mixtures of N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) with water (H2O) or water-d2 (D2O) were measured at the temperatures from T=277.13 K to T=318.15 K by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volumes VmE, calculated from the density data, are negative for the (H2O + DMA) and (D2O + DMA) mixtures over the entire range of composition and temperature. The VmE curves exhibit a minimum at x(DMA)≅0.4. At each temperature, this minimum is slightly deeper for the (D2O + DMA) mixtures than for the corresponding (H2O + DMA) mixtures. The difference between D2O and H2O systems becomes smaller when the temperature increases. The VmE results were correlated using a modified Redlich–Kister expansion. The partial molar volume of DMA plotted against x(DMA) goes through a sharp minimum in the water-rich region around x(DMA)≅0.08. This minimum is more pronounced the lower the temperature and is deeper in D2O than in H2O at each temperature. Again, the difference becomes smaller as the temperature increases. The excess expansion factor αE plotted against x(DMA) exhibit a maximum in the water rich region of the mole fraction scale. At each temperature, this maximum is higher for the (D2O + DMA) mixtures than for the corresponding (H2O + DMA) mixtures, and the difference becomes smaller as the temperature increases. At its maximum, αE can be even more than 25 per cent of total value of the cubic expansion coefficient α in the (H2O + DMA) and (D2O + DMA) mixtures.  相似文献

Molar excess volumes, VE, molar excess enthalpies, HE, and speeds of sound, u, of o-toluidine (i) + cyclohexane or n-hexane or n-heptane (j) binary mixtures have been determined over entire range of composition at 308.15 K. Speeds of sound data have been utilized to predict isentropic compressibility changes of mixing, of (i + j) mixtures. The observed VE, HE and data have been analyzed in terms of Graph theory. The analysis of VE data by Graph theory reveals that o-toluidine exists as an associated molecular entity and (i + j) mixtures contain 1:1 molecular complex. It has been observed that VE, HE and values calculated by Graph theory compare well with their corresponding experimental values. The observed data have also been analyzed in term of Flory theory.  相似文献

Phase equilibria between (α-naphthol + vanillin) and (β-naphthol + vanillin) systems have been studied by thaw-melt method and the results show the formation of simple eutectic mixtures. Crystallization velocities of components and eutectic mixtures were determined at different stages under cooling. With the help of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), the enthalpy of fusion of components and eutectic mixtures was determined and from the values excess thermodynamic functions viz., excess Gibbs free energy (GE), excess entropy (SE), excess enthalpy (HE) of hypo-, hyper- and eutectic mixtures were calculated. Flexural strength measurements were made in order to understand the non-ideal nature of eutectics. FT-IR spectral studies indicate the formation of hydrogen bond in the eutectic mixture. Anisotropic and isotropic microstructural studies of components, hypo-, hyper- and eutectic mixtures were made. Jackson’s roughness parameter was calculated and found to be greater than 2 suggesting the faceted morphology with irregular structures. The overall results have shown that there is a weak molecular interaction between the components in the eutectic mixtures and the (α-naphthol + vanillin) eutectic is more stable as compared to the (β-naphthol + vanillin) eutectic system.  相似文献

Excess molar volumes VE at 298.15 K were determined by means of a vibrating tube densimeter for binary mixtures of heptane + primary n-alkyl (C3 to C10) and branched amines (iso-propyl-, iso-, sec-, and tert-butyl-, iso-, tert-pentyl-, and pentan-3-amine) in the whole composition range. The apparent molar volumes of solid dodecyl- and tetradecylamine in heptane dilute solution were also determined. The VE values were found positive for mixtures involving C3 to C8 linear amines, with VE decreasing with chain lengthening. Heptane + nonyl and decylamine showed s-shaped, markedly asymmetric, curves. Mixtures with branched C3 to C5 amines displayed positive VE’s larger than those observed in the mixtures of the corresponding linear isomers. Partial molar volumes V° at infinite dilution in heptane were evaluated for the examined amines and compared with those of alkanes and alkanols taken from the literature. An additivity scheme, based on the intrinsic volume approach, was applied to estimate group (CH3, CH2, CH, C, NH2, and OH) contributions to V°. The effect of branching on V° and the limiting slope of the apparent excess molar volumes were evaluated and discussed in terms of solute–solvent and solute–solute interactions.  相似文献

The vapour pressures of (sec-butylamine + water), (cyclohexylamine + water) binary mixtures, and of pure sec-butylamine and cyclohexylamine components were measured by means of two static devices at temperatures between 293 (or 273) K and 363 K. The data were correlated with the Antoine equation. From these data, excess Gibbs functions (GE) were calculated for several constant temperatures and fitted to a fourth-order Redlich–Kister equation using the Barker’s method. The (cyclohexylamine + water) system shows positive azeotropic behaviour for all investigated temperatures. The two binary mixtures exhibit positive deviations in GE for all investigated temperatures over the whole composition range.  相似文献

Densities and viscosities of binary liquid mixtures of (1-hexanol  + n -hexane, or cyclohexane, or benzene) have been measured at a number of mole fractions at T =  (303, 313, and 323) K. The excess molar volume VmEand apparent molar volume Vφhave been calculated from the density data. TheVmE anddVmE / dT for the system, (1-hexanol  + n -hexane) have been found negative, while those for the systems, (1-hexanol  +  cyclohexane) and (1-hexanol  +  benzene), were found to be positive. Excess viscosities ηEcalculated from viscosity data, have been found to be negative over the whole composition range at the temperatures studied for all the three systems. Volumetric and viscometric behaviours indicate that dispersion is the major force of interaction between the components in (1-hexanol  +  cyclohexane, or benzene), while inclusion of hydrocarbon chains into the interstices of polymolecular ring structures of alcohol formed by hydrogen bonding has been assumed to play a significant role apart from dispersion in the system (1-hexanol  + n -hexane). Thermodynamic parameters of activation for viscous flow have been calculated from the viscosity data at different temperatures and a possible explanation suggested.  相似文献
