We consider scalar balance laws with a dissipative source term. The flux function may be discontinuous with respect to both the space variable x and the unknown quantity u. We formulate the definition of entropy weak solutions and provide existence and uniqueness to the considered problem. The problem is formulated in the framework of multi-valued mappings. The notion of entropy measure-valued solutions is used to prove the so-called contraction principle and comparison principle.  相似文献

We are concerned with entropy solutions of the 2×2 relativistic Euler equations for perfect fluids in special relativity. We establish the uniqueness of Riemann solutions in the class of entropy solutions in LBVloc with arbitrarily large oscillation. Our proof for solutions with large oscillation is based on a detailed analysis of global behavior of shock curves in the phase space and on special features of centered rarefaction waves in the physical plane for this system. The uniqueness result does not require specific reference to any particular method for constructing the entropy solutions. Then the uniqueness of Riemann solutions yields their inviscid large-time stability under arbitrarily largeL1LBVloc perturbation of the Riemann initial data, as long as the corresponding solutions are in L and have local bounded total variation that allows the linear growth in time. We also extend our approach to deal with the uniqueness and stability of Riemann solutions containing vacuum in the class of entropy solutions in L with arbitrarily large oscillation.  相似文献

We consider higher-order Camassa-Holm equations describing exponential curves of the manifold of smooth orientation-preserving diffeomorphisms of the unit circle in the plane. We establish the existence of global weak solutions. We also present some invariant spaces under the action of the equation. Moreover, we prove a “weak equals strong” uniqueness result.  相似文献

We obtain the existence and the structure of the weak uniform (with respect to the initial time) global attractor and construct a trajectory attractor for the 3D Navier–Stokes equations (NSE) with a fixed time-dependent force satisfying a translation boundedness condition. Moreover, we show that if the force is normal and every complete bounded solution is strongly continuous, then the uniform global attractor is strong, strongly compact, and solutions converge strongly toward the trajectory attractor. Our method is based on taking a closure of the autonomous evolutionary system without uniqueness, whose trajectories are solutions to the nonautonomous 3D NSE. The established framework is general and can also be applied to other nonautonomous dissipative partial differential equations for which the uniqueness of solutions might not hold. It is not known whether previous frameworks can also be applied in such cases as we indicate in open problems related to the question of uniqueness of the Leray–Hopf weak solutions.  相似文献

The model considered consists of an ordinary differential equation coupled with an integro-partial differential equation and describes the interaction between non-infectious and infectious prion proteins. We provide sufficient conditions for uniqueness of monomer-preserving weak solutions. The compactness of weak solutions to the magnetohydrodynamic equations for the viscous, compressible, heat conducting fluids is considered in both the three-dimensional space R3 and the three-dimensional periodic domains. The viscosities, the heat conductivity as well as the magnetic coefficient are allowed to depend on the density, and may vanish on the vacuum. This paper provides a different idea from [X. Hu, D. Wang, Global solutions to the three-dimensional full compressible magnetohydrodynamic flows, Comm. Math. Phys. (2008), in press] to show the compactness of solutions of viscous, compressible, heat conducting magnetohydrodynamic flows, derives a new entropy identity, and shows that the limit of a sequence of weak solutions is still a weak solution to the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations.  相似文献

We investigate existence and uniqueness of solutions to semilinear parabolic and elliptic equations in bounded domains of the n-dimensional hyperbolic space (n?3). LpLq estimates for the semigroup generated by the Laplace-Beltrami operator are obtained and then used to prove existence and uniqueness results for parabolic problems. Moreover, under proper assumptions on the nonlinear function, we establish uniqueness of positive classical solutions and nonuniqueness of singular solutions of the elliptic problem; furthermore, for the corresponding semilinear parabolic problem, nonuniqueness of weak solutions is stated.  相似文献

The Boussinesq approximation to the Fourier-Navier-Stokes (F-N-S) flows under the electromagnetic field is considered. Such a model is the so-called Maxwell-Boussinesq approximation. We propose a new approach to the problem. We prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions to the variational formulation of the model. Some further regularity in W1,2+δ, δ>0, is obtained for the weak solutions. The shape sensitivity analysis by the boundary variations technique is performed for the weak solutions. As a result, the existence of the strong material derivatives for the weak solutions of the problem is shown. The result can be used to establish the shape differentiability for a broad class of shape functionals for the models of Fourier-Navier-Stokes flows under the electromagnetic field.  相似文献

We study the well-posedness of a coupled Cahn–Hilliard–Stokes–Darcy system which is a diffuse-interface model for essentially immiscible two phase incompressible flows with matched density in a karstic geometry. We study the time-decay of weighted norms of weak and strong solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations in a 3D exterior domain. Moment estimates for weak solutions and weighted Lq-estimates for strong solutions are deduced, both of which seem to be optimal. The relation is discussed between the space-time decay and the vanishing of the total net force exerted by the fluid to the body. A class of initial data is given so that the total net force associated to the corresponding fluid flows does not vanish.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of semilinear hyperbolic equations. Using the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear parts, the existence and uniqueness of weak global solutions are investigated. We also established the behavior of solutions and their derivatives as t→+. Using the method of test functions developed in the works (Mitidieri and Pokhozhaev, 2001 [11], Veron and Pohozaev, 2001 [12] and Caristi, 2000 [23]) we obtain the analogue of the Fujita-Hayakawa type criterion for the absence of global solutions to some system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities with damping. It follows that the conditions of existence theorem imposed on the growth of nonlinear parts are exact in some sense.  相似文献

We prove the uniqueness for weak solutions of the time-dependent 2-D Ginzburg-Landau model for superconductivity with L 2 initial data in the case of Coulomb gauge. This question was left open in Tang and Wang (Physica D, 88:139?C166, 1995). We study here the 3-dimensional Vlasov-Poisson equation of stellar dynamics. It is well known that this equation has weak solutions for every bounded initial density with finite kinetic energy. In [6], Lions and Perthame prove a uniqueness result under a Lipschitz continuity assumption on the initial datum. Using the moment estimates of [6], we can easily see that if the initial datum is compactly supported, the solution will remain compactly supported for ever. We prove here the uniqueness of the compactly supported weak solution. Our proof is an adaptation of that of Youdovitch (see [8]) for the 2-dimensional Euler equation.  相似文献

Two integral equations, representing the mechanical response of a 2D infinite plate supported along a line and subject to a transverse concentrated force, are examined. The kernels of the integral operators are of the type (xy)ln|xy| and (xy)2ln|xy|. In spite of the fact that these are only weakly singular, the two equations are studied in a more general framework, which allows us to consider also solutions having non-integrable endpoint singularities. The existence and uniqueness of solutions of the equations are discussed and their endpoint singularities detected.Since the two equations are of interest in their own right, some properties of the associated integral operators are examined in a scale of weighted Sobolev type spaces. Then, new results on the existence and uniqueness of integrable solutions of the equations that in some sense are complementary to those previously obtained are derived.  相似文献

The uniqueness and existence of measure-valued solutions to Smoluchowski's coagulation equation are considered for a class of homogeneous kernels. Denoting by λ∈(-∞,2]?{0} the degree of homogeneity of the coagulation kernel a, measure-valued solutions are shown to be unique under the sole assumption that the moment of order λ of the initial datum is finite. A similar result was already available for the kernels a(x,y)=2, x+y and xy, and is extended here to a much wider class of kernels by a different approach. The uniqueness result presented herein also seems to improve previous results for several explicit kernels. Furthermore, a comparison principle and a contraction property are obtained for the constant kernel.  相似文献

We study a system of 3D Navier-Stokes equations in a two-layer parallelepiped-like domain with an interface coupling of the velocities and mixed (free/periodic) boundary condition on the external boundary. The system under consideration can be viewed as a simplified model describing some features of the mesoscale interaction of the ocean and atmosphere. In case when our domain is thin (of order ε), we prove the global existence of the strong solutions corresponding to a large set of initial data and forcing terms (roughly, of order ε−2/3). We also give some results concerning the large time dynamics of the solutions. In particular, we prove a spatial regularity of the global weak attractor.  相似文献

We present a generalization of Krylov-Rozovskii's result on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to monotone stochastic differential equations. As an application, the stochastic generalized porous media and fast diffusion equations are studied for σ-finite reference measures, where the drift term is given by a negative definite operator acting on a time-dependent function, which belongs to a large class of functions comparable with the so-called N-functions in the theory of Orlicz spaces.  相似文献
