Electromagnetic scattering from two-layered rough interfaces with a PEC object: vertical polarization

Electromagnetic(EM) scattering from a stack of two rough interfaces separating a homogeneous medium with a perfectly electric conducting(PEC) object has been calculated through the method of moments for vertical polarization.Theoretical formulations of EM scattering from multi-layered rough interfaces with a PEC object have been derived in detail and the total fields and their normal derivatives on the rough interfaces are solved.The two-layered model is a special case.In this work,a Gaussian rough surface was applied to simulate the rough interface.A cylinder was located above,between or below the two-layered rough interfaces.Through numerical simulations,the validity of this work is demonstrated by comparing it with existing scattering models,which are special cases that include a PEC object located above/below a single-layered rough interface and two-layered rough interfaces without an object.Subsequently,the influences of characteristic parameters,such as the relative permittivity of the medium,as well as the average height between the two rough surfaces,on the bistatic scattering coefficient are discussed. 相似文献

In this paper based on the equivalence principle and the reciprocity theorem, the
scattered field up to second-order by two parallel 2D targets arbitrarily located in
a Gaussian beam is considered. The first-order solution can easily be obtained by
calculating the scattered field from isolated targets when illuminated by a Gaussian
beam. However, because of the difficulty in formulating the couple scattering field,
it is almost impossible to find an analytical solution for the second-order
scattered field if the shapes of 2D targets are not canonical geometries. In order
to overcome this problem, in this paper, the second-order solution is derived by
using the technique based on the reciprocity theorem and the equivalence principle.
Meanwhile, the relation between the secondary scattered field from target #1 and
target {\#}2 is obtained. Specifically, the bi- and mono-static scattering of
Gaussian beam by two parallel adjacent inhomogeneous plasma-coated conducting
circular cylinders is calculated and the dependence of attenuation of the scattering
width on the thickness of the coated layer, electron number density, collision
frequency and radar frequency is discussed in detail. 相似文献

The relation between corresponding trigonometric functions in two rotating
coordinate systems is presented. The transformation formula for a vector in
the two rotating spherical coordinate systems is obtained. The scattering
fields for a spherical target irradiated by a plane electromagnetic wave in
an arbitrary direction are derived. These fields in a particular case
retrogress to those available in the literature. The obtained results have

We present a calculation of the electronic Raman cross section for the scattering of light across the energy gap of an antiferromagnetic insulator. The antiferromagnet is described in terms of a spin density wave state for the Hubbard model at half filling. We consider the coupling of the light to the current density and the inverse mass tensor on equal footing. A comparison of the cross section for different scattering geometries is given. 相似文献

Rigorous and approximate methods are considered for solving the problem of harmonic plane wave scattering from a plane surface arbitrarily perturbed along one dimension on a finite interval. This problem is treated using the Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and the Kirchhoff and Rayleigh approximations. The estimates of the computational efficiency of the integral equation method and the Rayleigh approximation are compared by calculating fields scattered from random rough surfaces in the resonance region (i.e., when the roughness height is comparable to or smaller than the incident wavelength) for an arbitrary incidence of a plane wave. Scattering patterns calculated using the integral equations and the Kirchhoff approximation are discussed in the case of large-scale random rough surface scattering. Particular attention is paid to scattering at near-grazing incidence. 相似文献

A two-dimensional random-walk problem is investigated, where a vector fixed in amplitude (magnitude) is added to one that is random in phase (direction angle). This problem can arise from a study of the effect of multipath interference from an acoustic or electromagnetic-wave source, where an arrival of constant amplitude is combined with an incoherent background of randomly scattered components of the incident field. The source is considered to have harmonic time dependence. This study follows from an earlier paper, in which the required properties of the incoherent background were derived. In the present study, the joint distribution of the resultant amplitude and of the phase angle between the resultant and the fixed arrival is determined. Further, expressions are developed for the first and second moments of the resultant phase, amplitude, decibel-amplitude, and intensity. Based on the Rayleigh’s scattering theory, the effects of sandstorms on the propagation of electromagnetic wave with different
visibilities are presented by solving the scattering field of charged sand particles. Because of the electric charges on the
sand surface, the theoretical attenuation will be large enough to match the measured value under certain conditions. And the
results show that the effect of sand with electric charges all over its surface on electromagnetic wave attenuation is the

A perfectly matched anisotropic absorber (PMAA) is used as a new type of medium in a formalism previously developed for investigating diffraction from an inhomogeneous isotropic aperture in a thick metallic screen. In this paper we consider that the aperture consists of five homogeneous regions: PMAA, transparent dielectric, perfect conductor, transparent dielectric and PMAA. This configuration could allow us to simulate a conducting cylinder of rectangular section in open space and it sets the basis for further extensions of the method to other geometries. We present near and far field simulations for different geometrical and constitutive parameters of the PMAA regions. The results seem to indicate that this new medium could be used to represent a lateral open space, thus enhancing the modal method and making it suitable to simulate scattering problems of finite objects. 相似文献

The spectrum of electromagnetic (EM) radiation from two-dimensional(2D) plasmons in a semiconductor-dielectric structure with metal grating has been calculated in a strict electromagnetic approach. It is shown that radiation frequency and linewidth vary over a broad range of magnitude as a function of the grating parameters. The radiative decay linewidth is found to be two orders of magnitude larger than expected from the perturbation theory. Comparison of the results with previously published experimental data on 2D plasmons in GaAs heterostructures makes us conclude that the main contribution to the experimental decay linewidth arises from dielectric losses in the layers of the structure. 相似文献

We analyse electromagnetic wave propagation in a dielectric with memory of the Maxwell-Hopkinson type. We show that the components of the electric and magnetic fields satisfy two different scalar wave equations and we first look for their harmonic plane wave solutions. Then we prove that dielectrics with memory can also support approximate Courant-Hilbert waves. We discuss the equations to be solved to get all the components of the electromagnetic field from a scalar solution from each wave equation and TE, TM harmonic plane waves are explicitly given. 相似文献

Light scattering is used to study the amplitude, spectrum, and angular distribution of the saturated state of the ion acoustic instability in a He positive column plasma. The ion acoustic waves are driven unstable by the electron current in the column. The properties of the saturated state are studied as a function of the concentration of hydrogen impurities which are found to be present in positive column plasmas. At concentrations of a few percent, the hydrogen ions can cause linear wave damping. Their role in saturating the instability by nonlinear processes is studied by varying the hydrogen concentration. 相似文献

研究内部真空周期性加隔板圆柱壳在水中的声散射特性.壳体振动用薄壳理论的Donnell方程描述,隔板振动用相互独立的薄板纯弯曲振动和平面应力状态下的振动方程描述.考虑轴向、切向、径向三个方向的力和弯矩共同作用导出了散射声场的解析表达式.数值计算给出远场收发合置情况下的角度-频率谱图,并据此进行机理分析.通过与内部周期性加环肋圆柱壳声散射的角度-频率谱图比较发现,除周期加肋产生的Bragg散射波与弯曲Bloch-Floquet波外,加隔板的情况还存在明显的隔板共振亮线,并且发生隔板共振与壳体弹性波、Bragg散射波、弯曲Bloch-Floquet波耦合的现象.通过实验对理论进行了验证,在实验的频率范围内,Bragg散射亮线与理论符合得很好,部分Bloch-Floquet波散射亮线和隔板共振散射亮线也与理论符合. 相似文献
