On General Mixed Quasivariational Inequalities

In this paper, we suggest and analyze several iterative methods for solving general mixed quasivariational inequalities by using the technique of updating the solution and the auxiliary principle. It is shown that the convergence of these methods requires either the pseudomonotonicity or the partially relaxed strong monotonicity of the operator. Proofs of convergence is very simple. Our new methods differ from the existing methods for solving various classes of variational inequalities and related optimization problems. Various special cases are also discussed.

Iterative Methods for General Mixed Quasivariational Inequalities

It is well known that mixed quasivariational inequalities are equivalent to implicit fixed-point problems. We use this alternative equivalent formulation to suggest and analyze a new self-adaptive resolvent method for solving mixed quasivariational inequalities in conjunction with a technique updating the solution. We show that the convergence of this method requires pseudomonotonicity, which is a weaker condition than monotonicity. Since mixed quasivariational inequalities include various classes of variational inequalities as special cases, our results continue to hold for these problems.

In this paper we introduce a new perturbed proximal-projection algorithm for finding the common element of the set of fixed points of non-expansive mappings and the set of solutions of nonlinear mixed variational-like inequalities. The convergence criteria of the iterative sequences generated by the new iterative algorithm is also given. Our approach and results generalize many known results in this field.     

Variational-Like Inequalities with Generalized Monotone Mappings in Banach Spaces

In this paper, we introduce two classes of variational-like inequalities with generalized monotone mappings in Banach spaces. Using the KKM technique, we obtain the existence of solutions for variational-like inequalities with relaxed – monotone mappings in reflexive Banach spaces. We present also the solvability of variational-like inequalities with relaxed – semimonotone mappings in arbitrary Banach spaces by means of the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed-point theorem. The results presented in this paper extend and improve the corresponding results of Refs. 1–6.     

Explicit and Implicit Continuation Algorithms for Strongly Monotone Variational Inequalities with Box Constraints

In this paper we discuss the variational inequality problems VIP(X, F), where F is assumed to be a strongly monotone mapping from ⁿ to ⁿ, and the feasible set X = [l, u] has the form of box constraints. Based on the Chen-Harker-Kanzow smoothing functions, first we present an explicit continuation algorithm (ECA) for solving VIP(X, F). The ECA possesses main features as follows: (a) at each iteration, it yields a new iterative point by solving a system of equations in ^{(n + s)} with a parameter and nonsingular Jacobian matrix, where s = |{j: - < l _j < u _j < +}|, (b) it generates a sequence of iterative points in the interior of the feasible set X. Secondly we give an implicit continuation algorithm (ICA) for solving VIP(X,F), the prime character of the ICA is that it solves only one, rather than a series of, system of nonlinear equations to obtain a solution of VIP(X,F). The two proposed algorithms are shown to possess strongly global convergence. Finally, some preliminary numerical results of the two algorithms are reported.     

On the Iterations of a Sequence of Strongly Quasi-Nonexpansive Mappings with Applications

Abstract

In this article, we study Δ-convergence of iterations for a sequence of strongly quasi-nonexpansive mappings as well as the strong convergence of the Halpern type regularization of them in Hadamard spaces. Then, we give some their applications to iterative methods, convex and pseudo-convex minimization (proximal point algorithm), fixed point theory and equilibrium problems. The results extend several new results in the literature and some of them seem new even in Hilbert spaces. One of our motivations is to unify some usual iterative methods in fixed point theory and proximal methods using the iterations generated by a sequence of strongly nonexpansive mappings.

On the Existence of Solutions to Vector Quasivariational Inequalities and Quasicomplementarity Problems with Applications Break to Traffic Network Equilibria

For vector quasivariational inequalities involving multifunctions in topological vector spaces, an existence result is obtained without a monotonicity assumption and with a convergence assumption weaker than semicontinuity. A new type of quasivariational inequality is proposed. Applications to quasicomplementarity problems and traffic network equilibria are considered. In particular, definitions of weak and strong Wardrop equilibria are introduced for the case of multivalued cost functions.
