The classification of structurable tori with nontrivial involution, which was begun by Allison and Yoshii, is completed. New examples of structurable tori are obtained using a construction of structurable algebras from a semilinear version of cubic forms satisfying the adjoint identity. The classification uses techniques borrowed from quadratic forms over ? 2 and from the geometry of generalized quadrangles. Since structurable tori are the coordinate algebras for the centerless cores of extended affine Lie algebras of type BC1, the results of this article provide a classification and new examples for this class of Lie algebras.  相似文献

Abstract

We study compatible actions (introduced by Brown and Loday in their work on the non-abelian tensor product of groups) in the category of Lie algebras over a fixed ring. We describe the Peiffer product via a new diagrammatic approach, which specializes to the known definitions both in the case of groups and of Lie algebras. We then use this approach to transfer a result linking compatible actions and pairs of crossed modules over a common base object L from groups to Lie algebras. Finally, we show that the Peiffer product, naturally endowed with a crossed module structure, has the universal property of the coproduct in XModL(LieR).  相似文献

In this paper we study certain Lie algebras which are constructed from the (-1)-eigenspaees of an involution of a Jordan algebra. The construction is a generalisation of the Koecher-Tits-construction. We give necessary conditions in terms of the Jordan algebras for the Lie algebras being simple. If the (-1)-spaces are Peirce-1/2-components then we obtain a close relation between the Lie algebras under consideration and the structure algebras of Jordan algebras. We finally give a list of those types of simple Lie algebras which can be formed by this construction; among them are Lie algebras of type E6 and E7.Of fundamental importance for our considerations is a close connection between the constructed Lie algebras and the standard imbeddings of Lie triple systems.  相似文献

Based on the construction of the discriminant algebra of an even-ranked quadratic form and Rost’s method of shifting quadratic algebras, we give an explicit rational construction of the discriminant algebra of finite-rank algebras and, more generally, of quadratic trace modules, over arbitrary commutative rings. The discriminant algebra is a tensor functor with values in quadratic algebras, and a symmetric tensor functor with values in quadratic algebras with parity. The automorphism group of a separable quadratic trace module is a smooth, but in general not reductive, group scheme admitting a Dickson type homomorphism into the constant group scheme Z 2.  相似文献

For any object L in the category of precrossed modules in Lie algebras PXLie, we construct the object Act(L), which we call the actor of this object. From this construction, we derive the notions of action, center, semidirect product, derivation, commutator, and abelian precrossed module in PXLie. We show that the notion of action is equivalent to the one given in semi-abelian categories, and Act(L) is the split extension classifier for L. In the case of a crossed module in Lie algebras we show how to recover its actor in the category of crossed modules from its actor in the category of precrossed modules.  相似文献

In an article by Michaelis, a class of infinite-dimensional Lie bialgebras containing the Virasoro algebra was presented. This type of Lie bialgebras was classified by Ng and Taft. In a recent article by Song and Su, Lie bialgebra structures on graded Lie algebras of generalized Witt type with finite dimensional homogeneous components were considered. In this article we consider Lie bialgebra structures on the graded Lie algebras of generalized Witt type with infinite dimensional homogeneous components. By proving that the first cohomology group H1(𝒲, 𝒲 ? 𝒲) is trivial for any graded Lie algebras 𝒲 of generalized Witt type with infinite dimensional homogeneous components, we obtain that all such Lie bialgebras are triangular coboundary.  相似文献

In [Thompson, J., 1968, Non-solvable finite groups all of whose local subgroups are solvable. Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society, 74, 383–437.], Thompson showed that a finite group G is solvable if and only if every two-generated subgroup is solvable (Corollary 2, p. 388). Recently, Grunevald et al. [Grunewald et al., 2000, Two-variable identities in groups and Lie algebras. Rossiiskaya Akademiya Nauk POMI, 272, 161–176; 2003. Journal of Mathematical Sciences (New York), 116, 2972–2981.] have shown that the analogue holds for finite-dimensional Lie algebras over infinite fields of characteristic greater than 5. It is a natural question to ask to what extent the two-generated subalgebras determine the structure of the algebra. It is to this question that this article is addressed. Here, we consider the classes of strongly-solvable and of supersolvable Lie algebras, and the property of triangulability.  相似文献

The concepts of prime Lie algebras and semiprime Lie algebras are important in the study of Lie algebras. The purpose of this paper is to investigate generalizations of these concepts to lattice ordered Lie algebras over partially ordered fields. Some results concerning the properties of l-prime and l-semiprime lattice ordered Lie algebras are obtained. A necessary and sufficient condition for a lattice ordered Lie algebra to be an l-prime Lie l-algebra is presented.  相似文献

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to study Lie algebras L such that if a subalgebra U of L has a maximal subalgebra of dimension one then every maximal subalgebra of U has dimension one. Such an L is called lm(0)-algebra. This class of Lie algebras emerges when it is imposed on the lattice of subalgebras of a Lie algebra the condition that every atom is lower modular. We see that the effect of that condition is highly sensitive to the ground field F. If F is algebraically closed, then every Lie algebra is lm(0). By contrast, for every algebraically non-closed field there exist simple Lie algebras which are not lm(0). For the real field, the semisimple lm(0)-algebras are just the Lie algebras whose Killing form is negative-definite. Also, we study when the simple Lie algebras having a maximal subalgebra of codimension one are lm(0), provided that char(F) ≠ 2. Moreover, lm(0)-algebras lead us to consider certain other classes of Lie algebras and the largest ideal of an arbitrary Lie algebra L on which the action of every element of L is split, which might have some interest by themselves.  相似文献

Finitely generated solvable Lie algebras have an intermediate growth between polynomial and exponential. Recently the second author suggested the scale to measure such an intermediate growth of Lie algebras. The growth was specified for solvable Lie algebras F(A q , k) with a finite number of generators k, and which are free with respect to a fixed solubility length q. Later, an application of generating functions allowed us to obtain more precise asymptotic. These results were obtained in the generality of polynilpotent Lie algebras. Now we consider the case of Lie superalgebras; we announce that main results and describe the methods. Our goal is to compute the growth for F(A q , m, k), the free solvable Lie superalgebra of length q with m even and k odd generators. The proof is based upon a precise formula of the generating function for this algebra obtained earlier. The result is obtained in the generality of free polynilpotent Lie superalgebras. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika i Ee Prilozheniya (Contemporary Mathematics and Its Applications), Vol. 14, Algebra, 2004.  相似文献

This paper is a continuation of [EK]. We show that the quantization procedure of [EK] is given by universal acyclic formulas and defines a functor from the category of Lie bialgebras to the category of quantized universal enveloping algebras. We also show that this functor defines an equivalence between the category of Lie bialgebras over k [[h]] and the category of quantized universal enveloping (QUE) algebras.  相似文献

In [H. Safa and H. Arabyani, On c-nilpotent multiplier and c-covers of a pair of Lie algebras, Commun. Algebra 45(10) (2017), 4429–4434], we characterized the structure of the c-nilpotent multiplier of a pair of Lie algebras in terms of its c-covering pairs and discussed some results on the existence of c-covers of a pair of Lie algebras. In the present paper, it is shown under some conditions that a relative c-central extension of a pair of Lie algebras is a homomorphic image of a c-covering pair. Moreover, we prove that a c-cover of a pair of finite dimensional Lie algebras, under some assumptions, has a unique domain up to isomorphism and also that every perfect pair of Lie algebras admits at least one c-cover. Finally, we discuss a result concerning the isoclinism of c-covering pairs.  相似文献

In this note we reverse theusual process of constructing the Lie algebras of types G 2and F 4 as algebras of derivations of the splitoctonions or the exceptional Jordan algebra and instead beginwith their Dynkin diagrams and then construct the algebras togetherwith an action of the Lie algebras and associated Chevalley groups. This is shown to be a variation on a general construction ofall standard modules for simple Lie algebras and it is well suitedfor use in computational algebra systems. All the structure constantswhich occur are integral and hence the construction specialisesto all fields, without restriction on the characteristic, avoidingthe usual problems with characteristics 2 and 3.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We study the varieties of Lie algebra laws and their subvarieties of nilpotent Lie algebra laws. We classify all degenerations of (almost all) five-step and six-step nilpotent seven-dimensional complex Lie algebras. One of the main tools is the use of trivial and adjoint cohomology of these algebras. In addition, we give some new results on the varieties of complex Lie algebra laws in low dimension.  相似文献

The cohomology of Lie (super)algebras has many important applications in mathematics and physics. At present, since the required algebraic computations are very tedious, the cohomology is explicitly computed only in a few cases for different classes of Lie (super)algebras. That is why application of computer algebra methods is important for this problem. We describe an algorithm (and its C implementation) for computing the cohomology of Lie algebras and superalgebras. In elaborating the algorithm, we focused mainly on the cohomology with coefficients in trivial, adjoint, and coadjoint modules for Lie (super)algebras of the formal vector fields. These algebras have many applications to modern supersymmetric models of theoretical and mathematical physics. As an example, we consider the cohomology of the Poisson algebra Po(2) with coefficients in the trivial module and present 3- and 5-cocycles found by a computer. Bibliography: 6 titles.  相似文献

The concept of the lower weakly solvable radical of Lie algebras is important in the study of Lie algebras. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the generalization of this concept to lattice ordered Lie algebras over partially ordered fields. Some results concerning properties of the lower weakly solvable l-radical of lattice ordered Lie algebras are obtained. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the l-prime radical of a Lie l-algebra to be equal to the lower weakly solvable l-radical of the Lie l-algebra are presented.  相似文献
