Synthesis of 2-(hydroxyphenylamino)- and 2-(aminophenylamino)-4-methylquinolines and N,N′-bis(4-methylquinolin-2-yl)benzenediamines

2-(Hydroxyphenylamino)- and 2-(aminophenylamino)-4-methylquinolines and N,N′-bis(4-methylquinolin-2-yl)benzenediamines were synthesized by reactions of 2-chloro-4-methylquinolines with o-, m-, and p-aminophenols and o-, m-, and p-phenylenediamines.     

An efficient synthesis of 1-aryl-3-(indole-3-yl)-3-(2-aryl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)propan-1-one catalyzed by a Brønsted acid ionic liquid

An efficient synthesis of novel 1-aryl-3-(indole-3-yl)-3-(2-aryl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)propan-1-ones from indoles and 1-aryl-3-(2-aryl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)propan-1-one using a Br?nsted acid ionic liquid [Sbmim][HSO4] as catalyst is described. Satisfactory results with excellent yields and short reaction time were obtained in the experiments. The catalyst could be recovered conveniently and reused efficiently.     

One-pot synthesis and fungicidal activity of 2-(1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl)ethanol and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)tetrathiadiazacycloalkanes

Synthesis of 2-(1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl)ethanol and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)tetrathiadiazacycloalkanes was performed by multicomponent condensation of monoethanolamine with formaldehyde and SH-acids (1,2-ethane, 1,3-propane-, 1,4-butane-, 1,5-pentane-, and 1,6-hexanedithiols). The resulting S,N-containing heterocycles and macrocycles possess fungicidal properties relative to microscopic fungi, plant pathogens.

Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Di(2-amino-5-methyl-1,8-naphthyridin-1- ium-7-carboxylato)dichlorocuprate(Ⅱ) Dihydrate

Di(2-amino-5-methyl-1,8-naphthyridin-1-ium-7-carboxylato)dichlorocuprate(Ⅱ) ditrated hydrochloride acid, and its structure was determined by X-ray diffraction at 298 K. The compound (C20H22Cl2CuN6O6, Mr = 576.88) crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a =9.102(9), b = 12.150(12), c = 10.619(10) (A), β = 91.20°, V = 1174.1 (19) (A)3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.632 g/em3,F(000) = 590, μ = 1.208 mm- 1, R = 0.0392 and wR = 0.0984. The Cu2 ion is six-coordinated by two nitrogen and two oxygen atoms from two different naphthyridine ligands at the equatorial positions together with two chloride ions located at the axial positions.     

Synthesis, Structure and Geometrical Calculation of a Novel Co-crystal of {[4-Bromo-2-(benzimidazol-2-yl)phenolato][2- (1-butylbenzimidazol-2-yl)phenolato]zinc(Ⅱ)] and Bis[μ-2- (1- butylbenzimidazol-2-yl)phenolato]- 1κN3: 2κO; 1κO:2κN3-bis{[2-(1-butylbenzimidazol-2-yl)phenolato-κ2N3,O]zinc(Ⅱ)}

The title compound has been synthesized and characterized crystallographically. It is a co-crystal consisting of two different neutral zinc(Ⅱ) complexes with Hbpbm (Hbpbm = 4-bromo-2-(benzimidazol-2-yl)phenol) and Hnpbm (Hnpbm = 2-(1-butylbenzimidazol-2-yl)phenol).One is a monomeric mixed-ligand complex of [Zn(bpbm)(npbm)] 1 and the other a dimer of[Zn2(npbm)4] 2 with their ratio of 2:1. Thus the overall formula for the title compound is 21·2.Adjacent 1 and 2 are connected to each other by intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions in the lattice. The crystal data: monoclinic, space group P21/c, a= 15.0141(12), b = 20.9941(17), c =18.4686(15) (A), β = 97.445(2)°, V= 5772.4(8) (A)3, Mr= 2429.68, Z = 2, Dc = 1.398 g/cm3,μ = 1.579mm-1, F(000) = 2504, R = 0.0637 and wR = 0.1771 for 6464 observed reflections (I＞ 2σ(Ⅰ)). The geometrical structure for 1 has also been theoretically optimized and compared with the experimental one.     

Synthesis, characterization, and optical properties of 2-amino-4-aryl-6-(9,9′-spirobifluoren-2-yl)pyrimidines

Abstract  

A series of 2-amino-4-aryl-6-(9,9′-spirobifluoren-2-yl)pyrimidines have been synthesized by the reaction of guanidine and chalcones under basic conditions. The physical and optical properties indicated that these compounds generally show good blue light emissions and excellent thermal stabilities. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds and interactions have strong influences on their properties.     

Synthesis and crystal structures of three new complexes derived from 3-(pyridin-3′-yl)-5-(pyridin-2′′-yl)-1,2,4-triazole

Three new coordination complexes, [Cd₂(ppt)₂(cpba)]?·?(H₂O)₂ (1), [Zn(ppt)₂]?·?(H₂O) (2), and [Zn(MoO₄)(Hppt)] (3) (H₂cpba: 3-(2′-carboxy-phenoxy)-benzoic acid; Hppt: 3-(pyridin-3′-yl)-5-(pyridin-2′′-yl)-1,2,4-triazole), were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Their structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, and thermogravimetric analyses. X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that Cd(II) ions are linked by ppt^? to form a ladder-shaped structure along the a-axis and further displays a 2-D supramolecular architecture with cpba^2? along the c-axis. In 2, each Zn(ppt)₂ fragment is linked by the nitrogen of pyridin-3′-yl from the neighboring Zn(ppt)₂ forming a V-shaped chain. Compound 3 consists of a ladder structure, in which each {MoO₄} unit is a bridge linking three Zn(Hppt)²⁺ fragments.

Synthesis and Structure of 2-(1Н-Indol-1-yl)-6-ferrocenyl-4-(2-chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine

A 2,4,6-trisubstituted pyrimidine including a 2-(1H-indol-1-yl) substituent was synthesized by the reaction of 1-ferrocenyl-3-(2-chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)propanone with 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran. The structure of the synthesized compound was confirmed by IR and ¹Н NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction analysis. It has been shown that the ferrocene-containing compounds synthesized in the present work all demonstrate intramolecular charge transfer which is evidenced by the observation of the corresponding absorption bands with λ ^abs_max > 480 nm. The oxidation potential of ferrocene (E ^Fc_ox ) in all the compounds is higher than 700 mV.

Abstract

Aβ²,β³-homoproline derivative, (2S, 2′S)-3-phenyl-2-(pyrrolidin-2′-yl)propionic acid, was synthesized starting from l-proline. After preparation of the (4S, 4aS)-4-benzyl-4a,5,6,7-tetrahydro-pyrrolo-[1,2-c]pyrimidine-1,3-dione under a mild condition, the absolute configuration of target compound was assigned using 2D H-H COSY and H-H NOESY technologies.     

Synthesis of 9-aryl-3,4,6,7,9,10-hexahydroacridine-1,8(2Н,5Н)-diones

The reaction in a mixture of 1,3-cyclohexanedione (dimedone), arylaldehyde, and ammonium acetate at 160°C during 10–15 min in the absence of solvent leads to the formation of 9-aryl-3,4,6,7,9,10-hexahydroacridine-1,8(2H,5H)-diones. The structure of the products has been confirmed by IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopy data. Antimicrobial activity of the obtained compounds has been studied.

Experimental and DFT studies of ethyl N′-3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl) propylcarbamoyl benzohydrazonate monohydrate

The Imidazole compound, Ethyl N′-3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl) propylcarbamoyl benzohydrazonate monohydrate, has been synthesized and characterized by IR, NMR, electronic spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal determination. Molecular geometry from X-ray experiment of the title compound in the ground state has been compared using the density functional method (B3LYP) with 6-31G+(d) basis set. To determine conformational flexibility, molecular energy profile of the title compound was obtained by DFT calculations with respect to two selected degrees of torsional freedom, which were varied from −180° to +180° in steps of 10°. Besides, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), natural bond orbitals (NBO), frontier molecular orbitals (FMO), and thermodynamic properties were performed at B3LYP/6-31G+(d) level of theory.     

Synthesis of derivatives of 2-aminoimidazole and 2-iminoimidazolidine by cyclization of 1-aryl-2-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)guanidines with α-bromocarbonyl compounds

Cyclization of 1-aryl-2-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)guanidines with α-bromoacetophenone and ethyl bromoacetate gave derivatives of 1,4-diphenyl-1H-imidazole-2-amine and 2-amino-1-phenylimidazolidin- 4-one respectively. The mechanism of the reaction was determined on the basis of quantum-chemical calculations, NOESY NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography.     

Synthesis and photochromism of dimers of 4,5- diaryl-2-(2,5-dimethylthiophen-3-yl)imidazolyl

4,5-Diphenyl, 4,5-di(4-methylphenyl), 4,5-di(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(2,5-dimethylthioph-en-3-yl)imidazoles were synthesized. Oxidation of the obtained imidazoles with potassium ferricyanide in water-alcohol solution of alkali gave the corresponding dimers. The structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The dimers showed photochromism in solution on irradiation.     

Synthesis and properties of N,N′-bis(1,3-indanedion-2-yl)imidazolium betaine

A method for the synthesis of a new type of onium derivative of 1,3-indanedione — N,N-bis(1,3-indanedion-2-yl)imidazolium betaine — by anhydride condensation of N-(1,3-indanedion-2-yl)-N-carboxymethylimidazolium betaine with phthalic anhydride was developed. Synthesis and hydrazinolysis of β-(1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)pyridines

Cyclization of the hydrazide of 5-ethoxycarbonyl-2,6-dimethylpyridine-3-carboxylic acid by acylation with aromatic or aliphatic acid chlorides with subsequent boiling in POCl₃ or heating in orthoformic acid gave the corresponding ethyl 2,6-dimethyl-5-(5-R-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)pyridine-3-carboxylate. The cyclization of the reaction products with hydrazine hydrate has been studied. Cyclization of the dihydrazide of 2,6-dimethyl-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid under analogous conditions gave only 3,5-bis-(5-R-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)-2,6-dimethylpyridines, containing R = 2-FC₆H₄, H.
