The paper represents a review of our present knowledge on the phenomenology of weak decays of quarks and their role in the determination of the parameters of the Standard Model. Specifically, we focus on CP violation in B decays and the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vcb from exclusive and inclusive semileptonic B decays. We also briefly discuss phenomeno-logical applications concerning the electron energy spectra in inclusive semileptonic B and Bc decays.  相似文献

We analyze charmless two-body non-leptonic B decays \(B \rightarrow PP, PV\) under the framework of a factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach, where P(V) denotes a light pseudoscalar (vector) meson. Compared with the conventional flavor diagram approach, we consider the flavor SU(3) breaking effect assisted by a factorization hypothesis for topological diagram amplitudes of different decay modes, factorizing out the corresponding decay constants and form factors. The non-perturbative parameters of topology diagram magnitudes \(\chi \) and the strong phase \(\phi \) are universal; they can be extracted by \(\chi ^2\) fit from current abundant experimental data of charmless Bdecays. The number of free parameters and the \(\chi ^2\) per degree of freedom are both reduced compared with previous analyses. With these best fitted parameters, we predict branching fractions and CP asymmetry parameters of nearly 100 \(B_{u,d}\) and \(B_s\) decay modes. The long-standing \(\pi \pi \) and \(\pi K\)-CP puzzles are solved simultaneously.  相似文献

The paper presents several recent ATLAS results on the analyses of B-meson decays into charmonium states. These include the measurements of B+ mass and the fractions of J/ψ mesons produced in b-hadron decays in pp collisions at \(\sqrt s\) = 13 TeV in the center of mass system. The measured partial widths and polarizations in B c + JD s (*)+ decays and CP-violation parameters in B s 0 J/ψ? decays in pp collisions at 7 and 8 TeV in the center of mass system are also presented.  相似文献

The semileptonic decay asymmetry \(\mathcal {A}_{{\Delta }m}\) is studied within the open quantum systems approach to the physics of the neutral meson \(B^0\)\(\overline{B^0}\) system: this extended treatment takes into account possible non-standard, dissipative effects induced by the presence of an external environment. A bound on these effects is provided through the analysis of available experimental data from the Belle Collaboration.  相似文献

We probe possible new physics (NP) effects beyond the standard model (SM) in the decays \({\overline B ^0} \to \pi \tau \overline \upsilon ,{\overline B ^0} \to \rho \tau \overline \upsilon ,and{\overline B ^0} \to \tau \overline \upsilon \), based on an effective Hamiltonian including non-SM operators. Experimental constraints on different NP scenarios are provided by recent measurements of the ratios \({{R\left( {{D^{\left( * \right)}}} \right) \equiv B\left( {{{\overline B }^0} \to {D^{\left( * \right)}}\tau \overline \upsilon } \right)} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{R\left( {{D^{\left( * \right)}}} \right) \equiv B\left( {{{\overline B }^0} \to {D^{\left( * \right)}}\tau \overline \upsilon } \right)} {B\left( {{{\overline B }^0} \to {D^{\left( * \right)}}\mu \overline \upsilon } \right)}}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {B\left( {{{\overline B }^0} \to {D^{\left( * \right)}}\mu \overline \upsilon } \right)}}\), as well as the branching \(B\left( {{B^ - } \to \tau \overline \upsilon } \right)\). The corresponding hadronic form factors and leptonic decay constants are calculated in the covariant confined quark model developed by us.  相似文献

This paper presents the two body weak nonleptonic decays of B-mesons emitting vector (V) and vector (V) mesons within the framework of the diagrammatic approaches at flavor SU(3) symmetry. We have investigated exclusive two body decays of B-meson using model independent quark diagram scheme. We have shown that the recent measurement of the two body exclusive decays of B-mesons can allow us to determine the magnitude and even sign of the QD amplitude for BVV decays. Therefore, we become able to make few predictions for their branching fractions.  相似文献

The recent observations of f 0(980) in charmless B decays motivate further studies of scalar particle and glueball production in these processes. Amplitudes for charmless two-body B decays involving the members of the scalar nonet are presented based on the symmetries of the dominant penguin contribution. Different scenarios for the lightest scalar nonet are investigated in view of the presently available data. We describe the evidence from B decays for f 0(1500) with a flavor octet like mixing and the hints towards the members of the nonet of lowest mass. There is further support for the hypothesis of a broad 0 + + glueball acting as coherent background especially in . In the framework of factorization and the heavy quark effective theory, modes are analyzed. We adopt the result from the QCD sum rule calculation for the hadronic matrix elements at leading order of and . The QCD sum rule results are well compatible with the current data, with the prediction for the branching ratios and for . We give constraints on the interception and the slope parameter of the leading Isgur-Wise function from the experimental bounds. It is argued that the observation of non-zero directly measures the non-factorizable effects. We use an appropriate combination of moments of finite energy sum rules in QCD in order to compute the B q -meson decay constants f B and . We perform the calculation using a two-loop computation of the imaginary part of the pseudoscalar two point function in terms of the running bottom quark mass. The results are stable against the so-called QCD duality threshold, and they are in agreement with the estimates obtained from Borel transform QCD sum rules and lattice computations.Received: 28 July 2004, Revised: 10 September 2004, Published online: 23 November 2004PACS: 12.38.Bx, 12.38.LgSupported by MCYT-FEDER under contract FPA2002-00612.  相似文献

We investigate the rare decays \(B_{c} \rightarrow D_{s}(1968)\ell \overline{\ell}\) and \(B_{c}\rightarrow D_{s}^{*}(2317) \ell \overline{\ell}\) in the framework of the light-cone quark model (LCQM). The transition form factors are calculated in the space-like region and then analytically continued to the time-like region via exponential parametrization. The branching ratios and longitudinal lepton polarization asymmetries (LPAs) for the two decays are given and compared with each other. The results are helpful for investigating the structure of B c meson and for testing the unitarity of CKM quark mixing matrix. All these results can be tested in the future experiments at the LHC.  相似文献

Data on K e4 decays allow one to extract experimental information on the elastic π π scattering amplitude near threshold, and to confront the outcome of the analysis with predictions made in the framework of QCD. These predictions concern an isospin symmetric world, while experiments are carried out in the real world, where isospin-breaking effects—generated by electromagnetic interactions and by the mass difference of the up and down quarks—are always present. We discuss the corrections required to account for these, so that a meaningful comparison with the predictions becomes possible. In particular, we note that there is a spectacular isospin-breaking effect in K e4 decays. Once it is taken into account, the previous discrepancy between NA48/2 data on K e4 decays and the prediction of π π scattering lengths disappears.  相似文献

Motivated by recent experimental results and ongoing measurements, we review the chiral perturbation theory prediction for decays. Special emphasis is given to the stability of the inner bremsstrahlung-dominated relative branching ratio versus the K e3 form factors, and on the separation of the structure-dependent amplitude in differential distributions over the phase space. For the structure-dependent terms, an assessment of the order p 6 corrections is given, in particular, a full next-to-leading order calculation of the axial component is performed. The experimental analysis of the photon energy spectrum is discussed, and other potentially useful distributions are introduced.Received: 9 December 2004, Published online: 21 February 2005PACS: 13.20.Eb, 11.30.Rd, 12.39.Fe  相似文献

We present a detailed numerical study of the Ke3 decays to in chiral perturbation theory with virtual photons and leptons. We describe the extraction of the CKM matrix element |Vus| from the experimental Ke3 decay parameters. We propose a consistency check of the K + e3 and K0e3 data that is largely insensitive to the dominating theoretical uncertainties, in particular the contributions of . Our analysis is highly relevant in view of the recent high statistics measurement of the K + e3 branching ratio by E865 at Brookhaven which does not indicate any significant deviation from CKM unitarity but rather a discrepancy with the present K0e3 data.Received: 22 January 2004, Published online: 30 April 2004Work supported in part by IHP-RTN, Contract No. HPRN-CT2002-00311 (EURIDICE) and by Acciones Integradas, Project No. 19/2003 (Austria), HU2002-0044 (MCYT, Spain)  相似文献

The conditions for the existence of discrete breathers (DBs) in biatomic crystals of AB and A 3 B composition are established, and their properties are studied by means of molecular mechanics using the examples of CuAu and Pt3Al, respectively. The phonon spectra of the crystals are analyzed, and a gap in the phonon spectrum of CuAu is obtained via considerable homogeneous elastic strain. There is a gap in the phonon spectrum of the Pt3Al crystal at zero strain, due to the considerable difference between the atomic weights of its components. The frequencies at which discrete breathers can exist in the considered crystals are determined. The energy localized on different types of DBs is estimated. The propagation of a current pulse through Pt3Al resulting in the excitation of DBs with mild nonlinearity is simulated.  相似文献

From a macroscopic theory of the quantum vacuum in terms of conserved relativistic charges (generically denoted by q (a) with label a), we have obtained, in the low-energy limit, a particular type of f(R) model relevant to cosmology. The macroscopic quantum-vacuum theory allows us to distinguish between different phenomenological f(R) models on physical grounds. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

We report our results for the bag parameter B K obtained from the quenched simulations on the lattice with Wilson fermions for three values of the lattice spacing. We implemented the method by which no subtraction of the mixing with other four-fermion operators is needed. Our final result, in terms of the renormalization group invariant bag parameter, is .Received: 9 July 2004, Revised: 27 July 2004, Published online: 21 September 2004  相似文献

Certain B s 0V 1 V 2 decays (V i is a vector meson) can be related by flavor SU(3) symmetry to corresponding B d 0V 3 V 4 decays. In this paper, we show that the final-state polarization can be predicted in the B s 0 decay, assuming polarization measurements of the B d 0 decay. This can be done within the scenario of penguin annihilation (PA), which has been suggested as an explanation of the unexpectedly large transverse polarization in Bφ K *. PA is used to estimate the breaking of flavor SU(3) symmetry in pairs of decays. Two of these for which PA makes a reasonably precise prediction of the size of SU(3) breaking are (B s 0φ φ,B d 0φ K 0*) and ( ). The polarization measurement in the B d 0 decay can be used to predict the transverse polarization in the B s 0 decay and will allow for testing of PA as well as the other assumptions in the analysis.  相似文献

The effects of final-state interactions (FSI) in hadronic B decays are investigated. The model for FSI, based on Regge phenomenology of high-energy hadronic interactions, is proposed. It is shown that this model explains the pattern of phases in matrix elements of Bππ and Bρρ decays. These phases play an important role for CP violation in B decays. The most precise determination of the unitarity triangle angle α from B d ρπ decays is performed. The relation between CP asymmetries in B decays is discussed. It is emphasized that the large-distance FSI can explain the structure of polarizations of the vector mesons in B decays and other puzzles like a very large branching ratio of the B decay to $ \bar \Xi $ \bar \Xi c Λ c .  相似文献

In a recent paper (Sharif and Shamir in Class. Quantum Grav. 26:235020, 2009), we have studied the vacuum solutions of Bianchi types I and V spacetimes in the framework of metric f (R) gravity. Here we extend this work to perfect fluid solutions. For this purpose, we take stiff matter to find energy density and pressure of the universe. In particular, we find two exact solutions in each case which correspond to two models of the universe. The first solution gives a singular model while the second solution provides a non-singular model. The physical behavior of these models has been discussed using some physical quantities. Also, the function of the Ricci scalar is evaluated.  相似文献
