The problem of transition radiation generated by relativistic particles incident on atomic strings in a crystal at a small angle is considered. Conditions are obtained under which the problem of transition radiation reduces to that of radiation generated by a collision with a filament-like target. It is shown that the angular distribution of transition radiation is symmetric with respect to the atomic-string axis.  相似文献

A laser-plasma EUV source is described, which is going to be utilized for characterization of EUV optical components and sensoric devices in the wavelength region from 11 to 13 nm. EUV radiation is generated by focusing a Nd:YAG laser into a double stream gas puff target. By the use of different target gases, broadband as well as narrow-band EUV radiation can be obtained. The emission characteristics of the radiation is monitored by the help of different diagnostic tools including a pinhole camera, an EUV spectrometer, and various EUV photodiodes, either directly or after reflection from multilayer mirrors. Theoretical calculations of collision-induced energy transfer are given in order to explain the observed high degree of electronic excitation in the utilized target gases.  相似文献

We study the loss of coherence of pure and mixed states for a nonlinear interaction between the multimode field and a qubit. We calculate analytically partial entropies of the qubit and field subsystems, which are used to measure the loss of coherence. We find that the loss of coherence loss is sensitive to the initial field states, the number of modes, and the nonlinear-interaction parameter.  相似文献

Wave-vector resolved radio frequency spectroscopy data for an ultracold trapped Fermi gas are reported for several couplings at T(c), and extensively analyzed in terms of a pairing-fluctuation theory. We map the evolution of a strongly interacting Fermi gas from the pseudogap phase into a fully gapped molecular Bose gas as a function of the interaction strength, which is marked by a rapid disappearance of a remnant Fermi surface in the single-particle dispersion. We also show that our theory of a pseudogap phase is consistent with a recent experimental observation as well as with quantum Monte Carlo data of thermodynamic quantities of a unitary Fermi gas above T(c).  相似文献

It is proved that the reduced dynamics of anN-level system coupled to a free quantum gas converges to a quantum dynamical semigroup in the low density limit. The proof uses a perturbation series of the quantum BBGKY-hierarchy, and the analysis of this series is based on scattering theory. The limiting semigroup contains the full scattering cross section, but it does not depend on the statistics of the reservoir. The dynamics of the semigroup is discussed.  相似文献

Uranopilite, [(UO2)6(SO4)O2(OH)6(H2O)6](H2O)8, the composition of which may vary, can be understood as a complex hydrated uranyl oxyhydroxy sulfate. The structure of uranopilite from different locations has been studied by Raman spectroscopy at 298 and 77 K. A single intense band at 1009 cm−1 assigned to the ν1 (SO4)2− symmetric stretching mode shifts to higher wavenumbers at 77 K. Three low‐intensity bands are observed at 1143, 1117 and 1097 cm−1. These bands are attributed to the (SO4)2− ν3 anti‐symmetric stretching modes. Multiple bands provide evidence that the symmetry of the sulfate anion in the uranopilite structure is lowered. Three bands are observed in the region 843 to 816 cm−1 in both the 298 and 77 K spectra and are attributed to the ν1 symmetric stretching modes of the (UO2)2+ units. Multiple bands prove the symmetry reduction of the UO2 ion. Multiple OH stretching modes prove a complex arrangement of OH groupings and hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure. A series of infrared bands not observed in the Raman spectra are found at 1559, 1540, 1526 and 1511 cm−1 attributed to δ UOH bending modes. U‐O bond lengths in uranyl and O H/dotbondO bond lengths are calculated and compared with those from X‐ray single crystal structure analysis. The Raman spectra of uranopilites of different origins show subtle differences, proving that the spectra are origin‐ and sample‐dependent. Hydrogen‐bonding network and its arrangement in the crystal structure play an important role in the origin and stability of uranopilite. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We investigate, using a nonlinear theory of laser physics, for a simple three-level atomic system the steady-state intensity behavior due to the effects of quantum coherence and decoherence. We find that a change from a noninversion laser to an inversion laser action can occur as the Rabi frequency of the driving field increases. The steady-state intensity of the laser field can arrive at a maximal value for a certain Rabi frequency of the driving field. We also find that the linear gain and the laser intensity tend to decrease for the linewidth of the driving field.  相似文献

The momentum distribution and dynamical structure factor in a weakly interacting Bose gas with a time-dependent periodic modulation in terms of the Bogoliubov treatment are investigated. The evolution equation related to the Bogoliubov weights happens to be a solvable Mathieu equation when the coupling strength is periodically modulated. An exact relation between the time derivatives of momentum distribution and dynamical structure factor is derived, which indicates that the single-particle property is strongly related to the two-body property in the evolutions of Bose-Einstein condensates. It is found that the momentum distribution and dynamical structure factor cannot display periodical behavior. For stable dynamics, some particular peaks in the curves of momentum distribution and dynamical structure factor appear synchronously, which is consistent with the derivative relation.  相似文献

The behavior of a mixture of optically excitable and inactive gases in the field of a laser radiation is considered from the viewpoint of nonequilibrium thermodynamics. The kinetic coefficients satisfying the Onsager-Casimir reciprocity relations are found from general properties of the Boltzmann equation, boundary condition, and terms describing the gas-radiation interaction. Various kinetic phenomena induced by the laser radiation are coupled with corresponding cross effects.  相似文献
