本文研究了浮体与自由面交线附近势流流场的奇异性。结果表明,线性时域解在交线附近的奇异特征是d2lnd.线性频域解在交线附近的奇异特征也是d2lnd,但若采用无穷大频率自由面条件φ=0,交线附近流场的奇异特征是d1nd,这里的d表示交线上的点与场点的距离。  相似文献

The view factor (angle factor) for a differential inclined plane in the case of a radiating source of radially Gaussian intensity is considered. This information is useful for modelling of solar radiation in certain applications. The view factor is expressed in terms of two integrals, one of which is obtained in closed form in terms of special functions, and the other is approximated. A compact estimate for the view factor is presented which is suitable for machine computation. While the relative error associated with the final estimate is typically less than 0.01%, and in all cases, less than 0.2%, the method is easily extended to yield even greater accuracy.  相似文献

This paper studies relationships between coupled-expanding maps and one-sided symbolic dynamical systems. The concept of coupled-expanding map is extended to a more general one: coupled-expansion for a transitive matrix. It is found that the subshift for a transitive matrix is strictly coupled-expanding for the matrix in certain disjoint compact subsets; the topological conjugacy of a continuous map in its compact invariant set of a metric space to a subshift for a transitive matrix has a close relationship with that the map is strictly coupled-expanding for the matrix in some disjoint compact subsets. A certain relationship between strictly coupled-expanding maps for a transitive matrix in disjoint bounded and closed subsets of a complete metric space and their topological conjugacy to the subshift for the matrix is also obtained. Dynamical behaviors of subshifts for irreducible matrices are then studied and several equivalent statements to chaos are obtained; especially, chaos in the sense of Li–Yorke is equivalent to chaos in the sense of Devaney for the subshift, and is also equivalent to that the domain of the subshift is infinite. Based on these results, several new criteria of chaos for maps are finally established via strict coupled-expansions for irreducible transitive matrices in compact subsets of metric spaces and in bounded and closed subsets of complete metric spaces, respectively, where their conditions are weaker than those existing in the literature.  相似文献

The Cauchy kernel is one of the two significant tools for solving the Riemann boundary value problem for analytic functions. For poly-domains, the Cauchy kernel is modified in such a way that it corresponds to a certain symmetry of the boundary values of holomorphic functions in poly-domains. This symmetry is lost if the classical counterpart of the one-dimensional form of the Cauchy kernel is applied. It is also decisive for the establishment of connection between the Riemann–Hilbert problem and the Riemann problem. Thus, not only the Schwarz problem for holomorphic functions in poly-domains is solved, but also the basis is established for solving some other problems. The boundary values of functions, holomorphic in poly-domains, are classified in the Wiener algebra. The general integral representation formulas for these functions, the solvability conditions and the solutions of the corresponding Schwarz problems are given explicitly. A necessary and sufficient condition for the boundary values of a holomorphic function for arbitrary poly-domains is given. At the end, well-posed formulations of the torus-related problems are considered.  相似文献

A variety of numerical methods are available for determining the stability of a given solution of a partial differential equation. However for a family of solutions, calculation of boundaries in parameter space between stable and unstable solutions remains a major challenge. This paper describes an algorithm for the calculation of such stability boundaries, for the case of periodic travelling wave solutions of spatially extended local dynamical systems. The algorithm is based on numerical continuation of the spectrum. It is implemented in a fully automated way by the software package wavetrain, and two examples of its use are presented. One example is the Klausmeier model for banded vegetation in semi-arid environments, for which the change in stability is of Eckhaus (sideband) type; the other is the two-component Oregonator model for the photosensitive Belousov–Zhabotinskii reaction, for which the change in stability is of Hopf type.  相似文献

A NEW STEPSIZE FOR THE STEEPEST DESCENT METHOD   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
The steepest descent method is the simplest gradient method for optimization. It is well known that exact line searches along each steepest descent direction may converge very slowly. An important result was given by Barzilar and Borwein, which is proved to be superlinearly convergent for convex quadratic in two dimensional space, and performs quite well for high dimensional problems. The BB method is not monotone, thus it is not easy to be generalized for general nonlinear functions unless certain non-monotone techniques being applied. Therefore, it is very desirable to find stepsize formulae which enable fast convergence and possess the monotone property. Such a stepsize αk for the steepest descent method is suggested in this paper. An algorithm with this new stepsize in even iterations and exact line search in odd iterations is proposed. Numerical results are presented, which confirm that the new method can find the exact solution within 3 iteration for two dimensional problems. The new method is very efficient for small scale problems. A modified version of the new method is also presented, where the new technique for selecting the stepsize is used after every two exact line searches. The modified algorithm is comparable to the Barzilar-Borwein method for large scale problems and better for small scale problems.  相似文献

On the basis of the semi-linear material of John, invoking the theory of homogenization for heterogeneous media and the theory of invariants for isotropic scalar functions, an energy function is built for a transversely-isotropic medium in finite elastic deformation. The Ponyting Effect, for material in simple shear, is reviewed for this case of transversal isotropy. It is shown that this effect is apprehended by the constructed energy function.  相似文献

The effective conductivity σ* of a multicomponent composite material is considered. Integral representations for σ* treated as a holomorphic function on a polydisk with values in a half-plane are analyzed. A representation for σ* is introduced which is symmetric in the component conductivities and for which the moments of the positive measure in the integral are directly related to the coefficients in a perturbation expansion of σ* around a homogeneous medium. This second feature, which is important for obtaining bounds on σ*, was previously available only in the two-component case. In addition, a bound valid for any holomorphic function of the above type is proven.  相似文献

In this work, an analytic development for a transmission line with a corona effect for simulating an electromagnetic transient is presented. The asymptotic solution for the Radulet equations in which a nonlinear term is presented is obtained. The study is carried out for a single-phase transmission line. The electrical parameters for an overhead line are defined and several formulations for their calculation are presented. The frequency dependence of the electrical parameters is considered. In the first part, the linear problem solution is found; the Fourier and Laplace transforms are applied with respect to distance and time respectively. After finding the solution in the Fourier–Laplace domain, which is expressed in terms of a Green’s function integral, an approximate analytical solution is obtained in the distance–time domain by means of asymptotic methods. Finally, the nonlinear solution is found using as a first approach the linear solution. The results obtained show an attenuation in the voltage wave due to the corona effect.  相似文献

Increasing convex order is one of important stochastic orderings. It is very often used in queueing theory, reliability, operations research and economics. This paper is devoted to studying the likelihood ratio test for increasing convex order in several populations against an unrestricted alternative. We derive the null asympotic distribution of the likelihood ratio test statistic, which is precisely the chi-bar-squared distribution. The methodology for computing critical values for the test is also discussed. The test is applied to an example involving data for survival time for carcinoma of the oropharynx.  相似文献

Three methodological issues are discussed that are important for the analysis of data on networks in organizations. The first is the two-level nature of the data: individuals are nested in organizations. This can be dealt with by using multilevel statistical methods. The second is the complicated nature of statistical methods for network analysis. The third issue is the potential of mathematical modeling for the study of network effects and network evolution in organizations. Two examples are given of mathematical models for gossip in organizations. The first example is a model for cross-sectional data, the second is a model for longitudinal data that reflect the joint development of network structure and individual behavior tendencies.  相似文献

In evaluating feeding policy in livestock production, it is generally assumed that an optimal feeding policy will involve using least-cost rations throughout the production process. It is demonstrated that this assumption may not be valid when the supply of some of the feedstuffs used for livestock feeding is limited. A method for testing the validity of this assumption is presented for a linear programming model of an integrated crop and intensive beef production enterprise in which some of the crops may be used for livestock feeding, and an iterative solution procedure is proposed for cases where this assumption is not valid.  相似文献

The dual simplex method for generalized upper bound (GUB) problems is presented. One of the major operations in the dual simplex method is to update the elements of therth row, wherer is the index for the leaving basic variable. Those updated elements are used for the ratio test to determine the entering basic variabble. A very simple formula for therth row update for the dual simplex method for a GUB problem is derived, which is similar to the formula for the standard linear program. This derivation is based on the change key operation, which is to exchange the key column and its counterpart in the nonkey section. The change key operation is possible because of a theorem that guarantees the existence of such a counterpart.  相似文献

A numerical method for solving the plane problem of determining the stress state of a tube of arbitrary section immersed in a homogeneous incompressible liquid is proposed. The change from the boundary conditions for this problem to the boundary conditions for a biharmonic stress function is carried out, which enables the algorithm for solving boundary value problems in the case of a polyharmonic function developed earlier to be used to solve the problem under consideration. It is shown that the boundary conditions for doubly-connected domains contain three unknown constants. The conditions for finding these constants in a form that is convenient for the implementation of a numerical algorithm are obtained. Tubes with sections in the form of concentric, eccentric and elliptic rings are considered as examples.  相似文献

A function is introduced that characterizes the visibility of a moving object for an observer in a smooth strictly convex Banach space. The location of the observer is given inaccurately. The differentiability property of this function is investigated; in the case of a finite-dimensional space, an expression is found for the derivative in any direction. Robustness of numerical methods for multiphase flow problems in porous media is important for development of methods to be used in a wide range of applications. Here, we discuss monotonicity for a simplified problem of single-phase flow, but where the simulation grids and media are allowed to be general, posing challenges to control-volume methods. We discuss discrete formulations of the maximum principle and derive sufficient criteria for discrete monotonicity for arbitrary nine-point control-volume discretizations for conforming quadrilateral grids in 2D. These criteria are less restrictive than the M-matrix property. It is shown that it is impossible to construct nine-point methods which unconditionally satisfy the monotonicity criteria when the discretization satisfies local conservation and exact reproduction of linear potential fields. Numerical examples are presented which show the validity of the criteria for monotonicity. Further, the impact of nonmonotonicity is studied. Different behavior for different discretization methods is illuminated, and simple ideas are presented for improvement in terms of monotonicity.  相似文献
