In this article the analytic and asymptotic properties of the resolvent for elastic waves in a three dimensional domain perturbed from the isotropic half space R 3+ are studied. In this case, the asymptotic expansion of the resolvent at the origin has logarithmic terms. This property is totally different from the case of the whole 3‐dimensional space. The existence of the surface waves like the Rayleigh waves makes this difference. As an application of the asymptotic properties of the resolvent, the rate of the local energy decay estimates for the dynamical equations is obtained. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Applied modes of the deformation of an inhomogeneous elastic bed consisting of a layer of finite thickness and a semi-infinite space, the elastic constants of which differ markedly, are proposed. An explicit form of the equations describing the theory of deformation is established. An evaluation of the error of the resultant equations is made, and the range of their application determined.Translated from Dinamicheskie Sistemy, No. 5, pp. 11–20, 1986.  相似文献

Based on the methods of complex function, conformal mapping, and multipolar coordinate system, dynamic response of an elliptical inclusion embedded in an anisotropic half space is investigated. In order to find the solution of SH waves, the governing equation is transferred into its normalized form. Then, the scattering wave induced by the inclusion and the standing wave in the inclusion is deduced. Different incident wave angles and the corresponding anisotropy of the half space are considered to obtain the reflected waves. The elliptical inclusion is transferred into a unit circle by conformal mapping method, and then the undetermined coefficients in scattering wave and standing wave are solved by using the continuous condition at the boundary of the inclusion. Subsequently, the dynamic stress concentration factor (DSCF) around the inclusion is calculated and analyzed. Numerical results demonstrate that the distribution of the DSCF is mainly influenced by the incident wave angle and the incident wave number. It is affected by anisotropic parameters as well.  相似文献

With the aid of the matrix method one investigates three-dimensional processes of wave propagation in layered media. The characteristic matrices are reduced to quasidiagonal form, allowing to reduce the problem to already investigated problems. In addition, one solves two seismology problems which have a practical interest.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A. In this article we consider the self-adjoint operator governing the propagation of elastic waves in a perturbed isotropic half space with a free boundary condition. We prove the limiting absorption principle in appropriate Hilbert spaces for this operator. We also prove decreasing properties for the eigenfunctions associated with strictly positive eigenvalues of this operator. The proofs are based on the limiting absorption principle for the self-adjoint operator governing the propagation of elastic waves in a homogeneous isotropic half space with a free boundary and on the so called division theorem for it. Both perturbations of R +2 ={(x1, x2) ? R 2; x2 > 0} and R +2 = {(x1, x2, x3) ? R 3; x3 > 0} are considered.  相似文献

We consider the problem of summation of elastic waves propagating in layered media with plane-parallel interfaces. We suggest an algorithm leading to determination of groups of dynamically equivalent waves within a group of kinematic analogs. We show that the time required to do the wave calculation in the indicated media can be significantly shortened.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Institute im. Space-time (ST) ray expansions in the presence of a caustic are used for the construction of an asymptotics of surface waves similar to the SH Love waves. Certain conditions which ensure the existence of surface waves with SH polarization are deduced. Some special cases of anisotropic media are indiceted where these conditions are satisfied. Calculation of the complex roots of the dispersion equations by the sweep-out method is discussed for the case of SH waves in a layered inhomogeneous medium. The roots obtained define the phase speeds and the damping coefficients of interference waves as functions of the frequency. Results of numerical computations are given.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A. The well studied, high-frequency Rayleigh waves polarized in a plane normal to a cross section of the surface of an inhomogeneous elastic body with phase speed close to the speed of transverse waves are generalized to the case of the time-dependent equations of elasticity. For the wave field uniform asymptotics are obtained in the form of space-time ray expansions of two types: with a real eikonal (for transverse waves diffracted at the surface) and with a complex eikonal (for a longitudinal wave damped away from the surface).Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. The present work investigates the responses of stochastic type temperature distribution applied at the boundary of an elastic medium in the context of thermoelasticity without energy dissipation. We consider an one dimensional problem of half space and assume that the bounding surface of the half space is traction free and is subjected to two types of time dependent temperature distributions which are of stochastic types. In order to compare the results predicted by stochastic temperature distributions with the results of deterministic type temperature distribution, the stochastic type temperature distributions applied at the boundary are taken in such a way that they reduce to the cases of deterministic types as special cases. Integral transform technique along with stochastic calculus is used to solve the problem. The approximated solutions for physical fields like, stress, temperature, displacement etc. are derived for very small values of time where stochastic type boundary conditions are taken to be of white noise type. The problem is further illustrated with graphical representation of numerical solutions of the problem for a particular case. A detailed comparison of the results of stochastic temperature, displacement and stress distributions inside the half space with the corresponding results of deterministic distributions is presented and special features of the effects of stochastic type boundary conditions are highlighted.  相似文献

The scattering of long gravitational waves by a floating elastic plate is investigated using linear shallow-water theory. For a plate of arbitrary shape, the solution of the problem is reduced to a system of boundary integral equations. Using the example of a rectangular plate, the solution obtained is compared with existing theoretical and experimental results. The behaviour of the buckling of a rectangular plate and of a strip of constant width is compared for oblique incidence of surface waves.  相似文献

The dispersion equation for Love waves in a monoclinic elastic layer of uniform thickness overlying a monoclinic elastic half-space is derived by applying the traction-free boundary condition at the surface and continuity conditions at the interface. The dispersion curves showing the effect of anisotropy on the calculated phase velocity are presented. The special cases of orthotropic and transversely isotropic media are also considered. It is shown that the well-known dispersion equation for Love waves in an isotropic layer overlying an isotropic half-space follows as a particular case.  相似文献

** Email: julius.kaplunov{at}brunel.ac.uk Explicit models for the Rayleigh and Bleustein–Gulyaevsurface waves are extracted from the original 2D formulationswithin the general framework of linear elasticity and electroelasticity. The derivations are based on perturbing in slow time the self-similarsolutions for homogeneous surface wave. Both the proposed modelsinvolve hyperbolic equations on the surface along with ellipticequations over the interior, emphasizing the dual nature ofa surface wave. Comparisons with exact solutions are presented, including that for the plane Lamb problem.  相似文献

In the paper Love waves in a transversally, Isotropic, inhomogeneous half space are investigated in the case where the plane of isotropy does not coincide with the boundary plane. The dependence on the angle between them is established to the solution obtained.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A.
