A lot of effort is being made in Romania to meet the present main strategic goal – EU integration. Since the confidence in measurements is of considerable importance in almost every field of activity, the National Institute of Metrology (INM) is involved in improving its calibration and measurement capabilities to provide services in accordance with the latest European Regulation. Within this framework the assurance of the required traceability of all measurements plays a most important role. As reliable analytical measurements depend largely upon reference materials and the assurance of the traceability of amount measurements is still developing in Romania, a new approach regarding the function of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) may be emphasized. The experience of the INM as well as new developments in Romania in preparation and certification of Reference Materials (RMs) are described. A short review of the locally available RMs and CRMs is given. Some aspects regarding the use of RMs and CRMs, especially for calibration, are discussed for their applicability for analytical measurements.  The objective of quality assurance programme for spectrochemical measurements is to reduce the measurement errors to accepted limits. Reference materials are being widely used as measurement standards in the fields of industrial production, environmental protection and clinical chemistry, and are playing an important role in ensuring the quality of measurement results. This paper presents some aspects, practices and examples of the activity of the Reference Materials Laboratory of the National Institute of Metrology, Bucharest, in the field of spectrochemical measurements. An attempt to describe the role and use of reliable certified reference materials to ensure the quality of spectrochemical measurements is presented. A short review of the locally available certified reference materials used in spectrochemical measurements is given. The use of reference materials data in estimating the measurement uncertainty is discussed. An interlaboratory comparison, recently organized in Romania, is also presented as a useful response to the need for quality assurance of spectrochemical results. Measurement of radon is of interest both for the health risk assessment and development of radon therapy in enclosed spaces like as caves, mines and spas. In Romania, radon therapy is not in use, yet. The development of this treatment method in mines from our country involves primarily, the evaluation of radon levels in the salt mines. In this paper, the results of radon gas measurement that were performed at Ocna Dej salt mine (Romania) are presented. The radon measurements were performed using two systems: radon monitor Pylon AB-5 system and CIS-P5M system. The average radon concentration was found to be between 9.14 ± 5.10 Bq/m3 and 31.70 ± 2.76 Bq/m3. These radon levels are lower in comparison to those reported for mines, caves or spas in other countries where radon therapy and speleotherapy is frequently in use. Radon concentration and environmental conditions from Ocna Dej salt mine are suitable for therapeutic applications.  相似文献

Benzoylation of phenoxathiin leads to a mixture of 2- and 3-benzoylphenoxathiins. Starting from 3-phenoxathiincarbonyl chloride and benzene in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride, 2-benzoylphenoxathiin was obtained instead of the 3-substituted isomer. Treating 3-benzoylphenoxathiin with aluminum chloride and hydrogen chloride a rearrangement reaction took place, leading to 2-benzoylphenoxathiin.Faculty of Chemistry, Organic Chemistry Department, University of Bucharest, 90–92 Panduri Road, Romania 76233. ABSTRACT

Heavy metal air pollution in Romania was investigated by using passive moss biomonitoring. This study is a component of an international UNECE ICP Vegetation Program – moss survey. A total of 330 samples of Hypnum cupressiforme, Hylocomium splendens, Pleurozium schreberi, and other mosses were collected in Romania in the summer and autumn of 2010. The concentrations of aluminum, cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, lead, nickel, vanadium, and zinc were determined by graphite furnace/flame atomic absorption spectrometry and instrumental neutron activation analysis. The results were statistically processed to obtain spatial distribution maps of factor scores based on elemental concentrations in the moss, together with the spatial distribution maps of heavy metals in moss. The median concentrations of cadmium, 1.20?mg/kg dry weight, and lead, 30.8?mg/kg dry weight, were high compared with other European countries. The results revealed that the atmospheric deposition of these metals is a problem in north and northwest Romania.  相似文献

The phenolic composition, antioxidant capacity, and the dsDNA oxidative damage protecting properties, of ten honey and two pollen samples, from different countries, Portugal, Algeria, Romania, and Greece, using differential pulse voltammetry, DPPH. spectrophotometric assay, reversed‐phase high performance liquid chromatography with electrochemical detection, and agarose gel electrophoresis, were investigated. The honey samples highest antioxidant capacity was from Multi floral from Greece and the lowest for Mono floral black locust from Romania. The pollen from Romania presented higher antioxidant capacity compared with the pollen from Portugal but both pollen samples have a greater antioxidant capacity compared with the honey samples. In the presence of honey and pollen the DNA oxidative damage, induced by hydroxyl radicals generated through the Fenton reaction, was decreased.  相似文献

Several reference materials (RMs) and certified reference materials (CRMs) are widely used in Romania as measurement standards in different spectrochemical measurements. Among them, single element standard solution certified for their mass concentration play a key role in ensuring the required traceability of results expressed in this measurement unit. A short review of the locally available elemental RMs and CRMs used in atomic spectrometry or in other analytical techniques where aqueous standard solutions are required (usually called RMs or CRMs for spectrometry) is given. The experience of the INM in preparation and certification of such materials is described. Some aspects regarding their use for ensuring the accuracy and for confirmation of the traceability of analytical measurements, especially through calibration and metrological validation of main instrument performances, are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Until now there has been no attempt to write the complete history of analytical chemistry in Romania. Nevertheless, we consider it important that our young chemists learn about the history of analytical chemistry in our country, because you can never step forward if you disregard the past. Furthermore, scientists in other countries might find the history and current status of analytical chemistry in Romania of interest.  相似文献

After the Chernobyl disaster, the radioactive cloud passage over Romania beginning with the April 30th, 1986 caused fall-out of different intensities in different regions.. The principal contributors to the radioactive exposure during the month of May and rest of 1986 were the short and medium half-live radionuclides: 132Te+132I, 131I, 140Ba+140La, 103Ru+103Rh, 106Ru+106Rh, 95Zr+95Nb, 136Cs, 134Cs, 141Ce, 144Ce and 125Sb. After four-five years only 137Cs and 90Sr remained significant radioactive contaminants. During May 1986 the grass was the mostly affected component of the environment and it contaminated rapidly the majority of foods. Measurements made on the daily gathered pollen samples and eggs during May 1986 clearly indicated that these samples can be used as bioindicators of radioactive contamination of the atmospheric air and, respectively, for soil and grass. Regarding soil contamination, the higher 134+137Cs deposits in Romania following the northeast-southwest direction were measured, some of these being above 80 kBq/m2. This direction is the same with the cloud passage over Romania during the first week of May 1986 and it was confirmed by measurements in the former Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, and south of Italy.  相似文献

Due to their low radioactivity background, underground salt mines spaces offer a unique possibility for speleotherapy use. The knowledge of radon concentration levels in such underground environments is essential for therapeutic purposes of different respiratory and rheumatic diseases. In order to develop speleotherapy in Romania, this paper presents the results of an indoor radon concentration levels survey in some salt mines in Romania. The survey was carried out using radon monitor Pylon AB-5 system methodology validated by a CIS-P5M system. In order to investigate whether differences in depth and microclimate parameters translate into significant differences in salt mine indoor radon concentrations, have been chosen three salts mine test sites placed in the Northern part of Romania (Turda, Cacica and Ocna Dej) in stable areas of the mining field at 32?C120?m depth. Environmental microclimate conditions (mean values of air temperature 10?C14.5?°C, air humidity 65?C80%, air velocity 0.2?m/s saline aerosols and low microbial factors) have anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties and recognized therapeutically effects on human body??s health. Air temperature is one of the most important factors which need to be considered when carrying out a survey of indoor radon concentrations in salt mines because temperature largely determines close spaces ventilation rates, and ventilation habits are known to have significant effects on indoor radon concentrations. The analyzed environmental conditions and recorded low levels of indoor mean radon concentration (6.9?±?0.39 and 96.5?±?4.76?Bq/m3) demonstrated the best suitability of the investigated three salt mines in Romania for speleotherapeutic applications.  相似文献

We describe the measurement of the activity concentration of natural radionuclides in a slag material intended to be spiked with a standard solution of 226Ra. The final aim was to produce standard sources within a EURAMET-European Metrology Research Program research project (MetroMetal). High resolution gamma-ray spectrometry was performed in five laboratories from Romania and Spain. Results, given in activity concentration, were analyzed using three different modes for the calculation of the mean from individual values. Reference activity concentration values are presented.  相似文献

The early time of Analytical Chemistry in Romania is presented. Starting from 1920, the famous schools of chemical analysis in the University of Cluj, Bucharest and Iassy were established. As an example, the team headed by Professor G. Spacu introduced the use of complex compounds as reagents in analytical chemistry. In this way many macro and micro gravimetric methods for elemental determination were proposed. Received: 1 March 1996 / Accepted: 20 May 1996  相似文献

This article presents an overview of the practical experience acquired in two governmental medicines control laboratories in the Netherlands which combine the application of EN 45001 and ISO 9002 standards in the regulatory field of quality and risk assessment, and quality control of medicines and medical devices. This practical experience also includes simultaneous accreditation and certification. The EN 45001 standard was applied to laboratory testing activities and the ISO 9002 standard to non-laboratory file assessment activities as these activities are not covered by the scope of EN 45001. It appears that a combined application of these standards is practicable because they complement each other well. EN 45001 strongly emphasises technical competence. ISO 9002, on the contrary, emphasises more strongly the efficiency of the management processes and customer requirements. Received: 1 October 1998 · Accepted: 21 December 1998  相似文献

By means of nuclear analyses the concentrations of Au, Ag, Cu, Ir, Os, Pt, Co and Hg were measured in the 12 artifacts of the gold hoard discovered in 1837 at Pietroasa, Buzäu county in Romania. The concentrations of the first four elements were used to compare different stylistic groups assumed by historians. Comparisons with gold nuggets from the old Dacian territory and gold Roman imperial coins were also made. A good agreement was found with the oldest hypothesis which considers that the hoard is represented by three styles appropriated mainly by the Goths.  相似文献

In order to use the wood building materials in dwelling construction, uranium content measurements were performed by one of the alpha or fission track methods. The investigated samples were tree and rush samples, collected from different Romanian sites, situated in the vicinity of zones with human radioactive activities, such as: Sapantza, Izvorul Izei (North Romania), Omer and Periprava (Danube River Delta). We have examined the U atom distributions in these samples in order to detect any U contamination due to radioactivity. For each analysed sample, two U track micromappings were obtained in the two track detectors which were put in intimate contact with the sample during reactor neutron irradiations. The obtained track micromappings were studied by optical microscopy. The U distribution and content measurement results are presented and interpreted according to the present norms referring to maximum permissible values of U in building materials in Romania.  相似文献
