A method that uses the quadrant photodiode has been shown to be relatively inexpensive and robust in measuring Gaussian laser beam diameters in two axes. This approach requires neither component rotation nor precision alignment, and it facilitates integration of Gaussian laser beam diameter measurement with laser beam tracking in instruments. The physical gap between sensors in the quadrant photodiode, however, limits laser beam diameter measurements to those in the millimeter range. Here, we describe a modified approach to measure Gaussian laser beam diameters that are significantly smaller. 相似文献

A new laser displacement sensor has been designed, constructed, and used in a train running at a speed of 64 km/h. The laser displacement sensor is insensitive to ambient light and to temperature. The parameters of the laser displacement sensor are as follows: the measurement range is 20 mm, and the laser displacement sensor resolution is 0.3 mm. All the results show that this new displacement sensor meets the requirement for real-time gauge measurement. 相似文献

In this paper, a novel method to measure straightness errors with beam bend compensation based on Finite Element thermal analysis is proposed. According to the Edlen formula, the main factor that causes beam bend is thermal gradation in the air. Finite Element thermal analysis is applied to the thermal field around the beam. It is evident from the experimental results that high precision straightness errors in horizontal and vertical directions can be obtained after compensation. Hence, the feasibility of straightness errors measuring system with compensation for beam bend measurement is proved. 相似文献

New relationship of displacement signal using opposite sectors on a quadrant photodiode is derived. Standard and new displacement signals are analyzed in details. Through MATLAB® laser tracking simulation models, based on common and suggested approaches, detailed analysis is performed, and it is shown that better results for the new relationship signal processing are obtained. Within new relationship of displacement signal, the sensitivity of the system to the displacement of the spot increases and, hence, provides better accuracy in positioning up to 30%. 相似文献

Two optical lenses are used to compose a surface position measuring system. A measurand is positioned near the front focal point of the first lens. At the output end of the other lens, a beam splitter is used to split the beam into two paths. One photodetector is positioned before the focal point of the lens in one path and another after the focal point in the other so that the intensities falling onto the two detectors can be adjusted to be equal when the first lens is in focus. This device provides a compact and high-accuracy surface sensor. In this paper, the design and experimental study of the sensor system is described. It is shown that such a sensor embodiment can lead to a resolution of 1 μm. 相似文献

This paper reports the design of a dual wavelength fibre laser system using a dumbbell shaped configuration. The oscillation of the lasing wavelength is completed via fibre loop mirrors with a tuneable bandpass filter. The output power, side mode suppression ratio and wavelength spacing of the lasers were investigated against the pump power for forward and backward pumping schemes. The output powers of 4.99 and 3.69 dBm at 1545.08 and 1547.28 nm, respectively, for forward pumping scheme. On contrary, the output powers of 1.93 and 2.14 dBm at 1546.12 and 1551.48 nm, respectively, for backward pumping scheme. The peak output powers of less than 1 dB difference are obtained without any adjustment of the intra-cavity loss over a wider spectral range. 相似文献

A GaAs solid immersion lens has been applied to the external electric-optic measuring system. The spatial resolution of the system is improved to 0.7 μm because of the increased effective number aperture. We measured the electrical field distribution of ceramic microstrip lines transversely. The variation of electrical field with a submicrometre interval has been revealed experimentally and the results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis. 相似文献

An excimer laser micromachining system is developed to study the ablation of high-aspect-ratio microstructures. The study examines the ablation efficiency, specifically, the impact of changing major laser operating parameters on the resulting microstructural shapes and morphology. The study focuses on glass, although results on silicon and aluminum are also included for comparison. In ablating grooved structures, the ablation depth has been observed to be linearly proportional to the operating parameters, such as the pulse number and fluence. The results specifically indicate that ablation at low fluence and high repetition rates tends to form a V-shaped cross-section or profile, while a U-shaped profile can be obtained at high fluence and low repetition rate. The ablation rate or ablated volume has then been quantified based on the ablation depth measured and the ablated profile observed. The threshold fluence has also been obtained by extrapolating experimental data of ablation rate. The extrapolation accuracy has been established by the good agreement between the extrapolated value and the one predicted by Beer's law. Moreover, a one-dimensional analytical solution has been adopted to predict the ablated volume so as to compare with the experimental data. The reasonable agreement between the two indicates that a simple analytical solution can be used for guiding or controlling further laser operations in ablating glass structures. Finally, the experimental results have shown that increasing the repetition rate favors the morphology of ablated surfaces, though the effect of repetition rate on ablation depth is insignificant. 相似文献

A LCD light guide plate is an element of the LCD backlight module that is often used for the display of compact electronic devices. In this study, a vision system is proposed to detect the degree of uniformity of light reflection using a light guide plate before the diffuser has been attached. A new bright spot search and statistical software has been designed and the parameters for the LCD light guide plate can be adjusted before manufacture to provide greater economy and make the device user friendly. Since many different types of backlight modules had to be analyzed in this study, we used different methods to determine the nonuniform factors and the backlight module area for each type. A wrapping algorithm is presented in the searching and statistic process of bright spot. This algorithm can combine the procedures of segmentation process and nonlinear grey scale mapping. After revising carved depth of the poor brightness area, the diffuser was attached and the analysis performed again to verify the design procedure correction. When the source light density is adjusted, the lighting error for the on line inspection is retained to within 3%. 相似文献

A T-shaped single quantum-wire laser with high spatial uniformity has been fabricated by a cleaved-edge overgrowth method with molecular beam epitaxy and a growth-interrupt annealing technique. Using micro-photoluminescence imaging and spectroscopy, we confirmed the formation of a spatially uniform quantum wire over 20 μm long without hetero-interface roughness. By optical pumping, we achieved single-mode lasing from the ground state of the single quantum wire at a threshold excitation power as low as 5 mW at 5 K. 相似文献

本文基于飞秒激光模间拍频法实现多波长相位式绝对距离测量, 通过改变光频梳重复频率合成波长扩大测距量程, 并采用监测臂和双快门切换系统补偿和消除由电路产生的相位差单向漂移和大幅抖动. 实验中以20倍重复频率的拍频进行测量, 在30 min内相位测量的标准偏差为0.022°; 与双频激光干涉仪比对1125 mm行程内位移测量结果, 测距精度优于50 μm; 实验验证了合成波长方法扩大量程方案的可行性, 获得的测距重复性优于3 μm, 该系统理论上可扩展量程至7.5 km. 相似文献

We analyzed a linear cavity for intracavity frequency doubling of a diode-pumped acousto-optic Q-switched Nd:YAG rod laser, and showed that a green laser beam with a short pulse width can be generated efficiently. A green laser output power of 73 W corresponding to the 83.9% of maximum IR output power was obtained with a 40 ns pulse width at a 10 kHz repetition rate. A green output power of 40 W with a 35 ns pulse width was measured at a 5 kHz repetition rate. Minimum laser pulse width of approximately 32 ns was obtained around 1 kHz repetition rate for both green and IR laser beams. 相似文献
