In this paper the author first introduce a new concept of L p -dual mixed volumes of star bodies which extends the classical dual mixed volumes. Moreover, we extend the notions of L p intersection body to L p -mixed intersection body. Inequalities for L p -dual mixed volumes of L p -mixed intersection bodies are established and the results established here provide new estimates for these type of inequalities. Abstract

The (p, q)-mixed geominimal surface areas are introduced. A special case of the new concept is the Lp geominimal surface area introduced by Lutwak. Related inequalities, such as a?ne isoperimetric inequality, monotonous inequality, cyclic inequality, and Brunn-Minkowski inequality, are established. Recently, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang posed the notion of Lp-projection body and established the Lp-analog of the Petty projection inequality. In this paper, the notion of Lp-mixed projection body is introduced--the Lp-projection body being a special case. The Petty projection inequality, as well as Lutwak's quermassintegrals (Lp-mixed quermassintegrals) extension of the Petty projection inequality, is established for Lp-mixed projection body.  相似文献

Lutwak introduced the harmonic Blaschke combination and the harmonic Blaschke body of a star body. Further, Feng and Wang introduced the concept of the L p -harmonic Blaschke body of a star body. In this paper, we define the notion of general L p -harmonic Blaschke bodies and establish some of its properties. In particular, we obtain the extreme values concerning the volume and the L p -dual geominimal surface area of this new notion.  相似文献

The classes of the Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics play an important role to develop a probability theory in fuzzy sample spaces. All of these metrics are known to be separable, but not complete. The classes are closely related as for each Lp,∞-metric there exists some Lp-metric which induces the same topology. This paper deals with the completion of the Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics. We can also show that the relationship between the classes of Lp,∞- and Lp-metrics still holds for the obtained respective classes of their completions.  相似文献

We prove new Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities and new affine isoperimetric inequalities for mixed p-affine surface areas. We introduce a new class of bodies, the illumination surface bodies, and establish some of their properties. We show, for instance, that they are not necessarily convex. We give geometric interpretations of L p affine surface areas, mixed p-affine surface areas and other functionals via these bodies. The surprising new element is that not necessarily convex bodies provide the tool for these interpretations.  相似文献

The optimal degree of approximation of the method of Gammaoperators G n in L p spaces is O(n -1). In order to obtain much faster convergence, quasi-interpolants G n (k) of G n in the sense of Sablonnière are considered. We show that for fixed k the operator-norms G n (k) p are uniformly bounded in n. In addition to this, for the first time in the theory of quasi-interpolants, all central problems for approximation methods (direct theorem, inverse theorem, equivalence theorem) could be solved completely for the L p metric. Left Gamma quasi-interpolants turn out to be as powerful as linear combinations of Gammaoperators [6].  相似文献

Here are considered nonlinear switched systems in which the switching occurs among a class of subsystems that are characterized by input–output properties stated in terms of Lp spaces of signals. The relationships between the Lp stability of each subsystem and the internal stability of the switched system are studied. In particular, conditions on the dwell time of the switching signals that guarantee the asymptotic stability of the overall system are provided. The connections among these conditions and the Lp input–output properties of the subsystems are investigated.  相似文献

We determine the L p discrepancy of the two-dimensional Hammersley point set in base b. These formulas show that the L p discrepancy of the Hammersley point set is not of best possible order with respect to the general (best possible) lower bound on L p discrepancies due to Roth and Schmidt. To overcome this disadvantage we introduce permutations in the construction of the Hammersley point set and show that there always exist permutations such that the L p discrepancy of the generalized Hammersley point set is of best possible order. For the L 2 discrepancy such permutations are given explicitly. The properties of L2-approximable sequences established here form a complete toolkit for statistical results concerning weighted sums of random variables, where the weights are nonstochastic sequences approximated in some sense by square-integrable functions and the random variables are “two-wing” averages of martingale differences. The results constitute the first significant advancement in the theory of L2-approximable sequences since 1976 when Moussatat introduced a narrower notion of L2-generated sequences. The method relies on a study of certain linear operators in the spaces Lp and lp. A criterion of Lp-approximability is given. The results are new even when the weight generating function is identically 1. A central limit theorem for quadratic forms of random variables illustrates the method.  相似文献

The weighted L p -spaces of entire analytic functions are generalized to the vector-valued setting. In particular, it is shown that the dual of the space is isomorphic to when the function χ K is an L p,ρ (E)-Fourier multiplier. This result allows us to give some new characterizations of the so-called UMD-property and to represent several ultradistribution spaces by means of spaces of vector sequences. J. In this paper we study the L p -discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets. While it is known that the (unshifted) Hammersley point set (which is also known as Roth net) with N points has L p -discrepancy (p an integer) of order (log N)/N, we show that there always exists a shift such that the digitally shifted Hammersley point set has L p -discrepancy (p an even integer) of order which is best possible by a result of W. Schmidt. Further we concentrate on the case p = 2. We give very tight lower and upper bounds for the L 2-discrepancy of digitally shifted Hammersley point sets which show that the value of the L 2-discrepancy of such a point set mostly depends on the number of zero coordinates of the shift and not so much on the position of these.
