In the supersymmetric models, the dominant sources of the hadronic flavor-diagonal CP violation at low energy are the theta term and the chromoelectric dipole moments of quarks. Using QCD sum rules, we estimate the preferred range and the best values for the CP-odd meson–nucleon coupling constants induced by these operators. When the theta term is removed by the axion mechanism, the size of the most important isospin triplet pion–nucleon coupling is estimated to be , where chromoelectric dipole moments are given in units of 10−26 cm.  相似文献

Several problems concerning the deuteron and having simple analytic solutions are considered. The relation between the electric quadrupole moment of the deuteron and the np scattering amplitude is established. The degree of the circular polarization of the photon emitted in the radiative capture of longitudinally polarized thermal neutrons is found. The anapole, electric dipole, and magnetic quadrupole moments of the deuteron are calculated.  相似文献

This write-up on a talk at the 2011 Lepton?CPhoton symposium in Mumbai, India, summarizes recent results in the charged-lepton flavour sector. Searches for charged-lepton flavour violation, lepton electric dipole moments and flavour-conserving CP violation are reviewed here. The deuteron theory is renewed and completed for non-local Hamiltonians. A method to calculate deuteron wave functions is given. The formula for the current density and the magnetic dipole moment of a non-local potential is derived, and applied to the GCT, GT, and HJ-potential. The effects of a unitary transformation on the deuteron data — electric quadrupole moment, magnetic dipole moment, and radius — are shown. For the numerical calculations the Ristig-Kistler transformation and the HJ-potential were used. It is shown that an overall fit cannot be reached.  相似文献

We calculated the contribution of internal nucleon electric dipole moments to the Schiff moment of (199) Hg. The contribution of the proton electric dipole moment was obtained via core polarization effects that were treated in the framework of random phase approximation with effective residual forces. We derived a new upper bound |d(p)|<5.4 x 10(-24)e cm of the proton electric dipole moment.  相似文献

Relativistic expressions for the operators of current electric moments caused by electromagnetic spin-orbit interaction are obtained. Formulas for the matrix elements of the current electric moments of nuclei are derived. The contributions of the current electric moments to the quadrupole moment of the deuteron and to its root-mean-square radius are calculated with allowance for relativistic effects.  相似文献

The direct limit of electric dipole moment and direct searches for dark matter by electric dipole interaction are investigated with including the electromagnetic nuclear form factor, in case that the dark matter candidate is a Dirac particle. The electric dipole moment of dark matter constrained by direct searches must be lower than 7×10−22e cm for dark matter mass of 100 GeV to satisfy the current experimental exclusion limits at XENON10 and CDMS II. The CP violation of electric dipole moment and the dark matter discovery by electric dipole interaction in the future are considered.  相似文献

This paper deals with situations that illustrate how the violation of Lorentz symmetry in the gauge sector may contribute to magnetic moment generation of massive neutral particles with spin- and spin-1. The procedure we adopt here is based on Relativistic Quantum Mechanics. We work out the non-relativistic regime that follows from the wave equation corresponding to a certain particle coupled to an external electromagnetic field and a background that accounts for the Lorentz-symmetry violation, and we thereby read off the magnetic dipole moment operator for the particle under consideration. We keep track of the parameters that govern the non-minimal electromagnetic coupling and the breaking of Lorentz symmetry in the expressions we get for the magnetic moments in the different cases we contemplate. Our claim is that the tiny magnetic dipole moment of truly-elementary neutral particles might signal Lorentz-symmetry violation.  相似文献

We classify the parity- and time-reversal-violating operators involving quark and gluon fields that have effective dimension six: the quark electric dipole moment, the quark and gluon chromo-electric dipole moments, and four four-quark operators. We construct the effective chiral Lagrangian with hadronic and electromagnetic interactions that originate from them, which serves as the basis for calculations of low-energy observables. The form of the effective interactions depends on the chiral properties of these operators. We develop a power-counting scheme and calculate within this scheme, as an example, the parity- and time-reversal-violating pion–nucleon form factor. Stark spectra are reported for hydrogen cyanide and cyanoacetylene solvated in helium nanodroplets. The goal of this study is to understand the influence of the helium solvent on measurements of the permanent electric dipole moment of a molecule. We find that the dipole moments of the helium solvated molecules, calculated assuming the electric field is the same as in vacuum, are slightly smaller than the well-known gas-phase dipole moments of HCN and HCCCN. A simple elliptical cavity model quantitatively accounts for this difference, which arises from the dipole-induced polarization of the helium.  相似文献

Recently, the diverse properties of Rydberg atoms, which probably arise from its large electric dipole moment(EDM),have been explored. In this paper, we report electric dipole moments along with Stark energies and charge densities of lithium Rydberg states in the presence of electric fields, calculated by matrix diagonalization. Huge electric dipole moments are discovered. In order to check the validity of the EDMs, we also use these electric dipole moments to calculate the Stark energies by numerical integration. The results agree with those calculated by matrix diagonalization.  相似文献

We predict the charged lepton electric dipole moments in the split fermion scenario in the framework of the two Higgs doublet model. We observe that the numerical value of the muon (tau) electric dipole moment is of the order of the magnitude of 10-22 e cm (10-20 e cm) and there is an enhancement in the case of two extra dimensions, especially for the tau lepton electric dipole moment. We show that inSU(3) C ×SU(3) L ×U(1) X model, the leading contribution to the electric and chromolelectric dipole moment of the top quark is due to the one-loop diagrams which come from exchanging the charged and neutral Higgs bosons. The dipole moments are typically of the order of 10?19 e-cm and 10?19 g-cm respectively, for the values of relative phases of the vev's such that CP violation is maximal. A pair of parallel Stark plates are added to a CO laser magnetic resonance spectrometer to apply electric field in the absorption cell. This apparatus is used to measure the molecular electric dipole moment via Zeeman and Stark effects simultaneously. The saturated absorption spectra of NO (X2Π3/2, ν = 1 ← 0) was observed and the electric dipole moments of NO were directly measured in the presence of an electric field. The dipole moments are determined as μ0(ν = 0) = 0.1595(15) D, μ1 (ν = 1) = 0.1425(16) D. The electric dipole moment of the vibrationally excited state (ν = 1) is determined for the first time. The dependence of the electric dipole moments on its nuclear distances is interpreted.  相似文献

An appended sector of two octet-colored scalars, each an electroweak doublet, is an interesting extension of the simple two Higgs doublet model motivated by the minimal flavor violation. Their rich CP violating interaction gives rise to a sizable electron electric dipole moment, besides the quark electric dipole moment via the two-loop contribution of Barr–Zee mechanism.  相似文献
