We consider the formulation of the problem of laminar gas flow in long ducts with a smooth contour. The similarity laws that such flows obey are established. The method of integral relations is used to obtain numerical solutions for gas flow in a circular pipe and a flat duct of constant height for various wall temperature conditions.  相似文献

Two-dimensional steady rarefied-gas channel flow between two parallel walls, from an evaporating face to a perfectly absorbing plane end face, is studied. The vapor is considered to be a monatomic gas. The corresponding problem for the kinetic equation with collision integral in BGK form is formulated and solved numerically by two different finite-difference methods. Attention is focused on the calculation of the total gas flow rate through the channel cross-section. The structure of the gas channel flow as a function of the flow rarefaction, the channel length, and the ratio of the evaporation temperature to the wall temperature is studied.Moscow. In [1–3] and other studies devoted to the determination of the temperature field of an oil reservoir when injecting into it a fluid with a temperature different from that of the initial reservoir temperature, the one-dimensional fluid flow (linear or radial) was considered in the case of an injection gallery or a single injection well in the reservoir. The problem was formulated in [4] with an arbitrary distribution of wells, but the solution was obtained only for the integral thermal-loss characteristic. To evaluate the coverage of the reservoir by the thermal effect, we must know the temperature distribution in the multi-well reservoir system at any instant of time. In this paper we propose a method for calculating the reservoir temperature field in the case of two-dimensional fluid flow using the simplifying assumptions which were used earlier by Lauwerier [1] and other authors to describe the thermal phenomena in a reservoir.  相似文献

This paper studies the evolution of small perturbations in the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the radial flow of a flat ring filled with a homogeneous Newtonian fluid or an ideal incompressible fluid. When the flow rate is specified as a function of time, the main motion is completely determined by the incompressibility condition regardless of the properties of the medium. A biparabolic equation for the stream function with four homogeneous boundary conditions which simulate adhesion to the expanding (contracting) walls of the ring is derived. Upper bounds for the perturbation are obtained using the method of integral relations for quadratic functionals. The case of an exponential decay of initial perturbations is considered in a finite or infinite time interval. The admissibility of the inviscid limit in this problem is proved, and upper and lower bounds for this limit are estimated.  相似文献

The paper represents results of an exact solution of a laminar heat transfer problem for a rotating disk in a fluid co-rotating with the disk as a solid body. The angular speed of the fluid is less than the angular speed of the disk. Disks surface temperature varies radially accordingly to a power law. Results for the laminar regime are compared with computations for turbulent heat transfer obtained using an integral method developed earlier. On the basis of the exact solution for laminar flow and basic ideas of the integral methods solution for turbulent flow, an integral method for laminar regime is designed and an approximate analytical solution of the considered problem is derived. Inaccuracies of the laminar approximate solution over the main range of variation of the influencing parameters and Prandtl numbers from 0.71 to 1 do not exceed 2.5%. It is shown that the dependence of the Nusselt number on the ratio of the angular speeds of disk and fluid varying from 0 to 0.3 is weak and has a point of maximum within this region for laminar flow. The obtained results are important in predictions of fluid flow and heat transfer in different types of rotating machinery.  相似文献

Using the boundary integral equation method, the problem of stationary heat conduction and thermoelasticity for a semi-infinite body with a crack parallel to its boundary is solved. Temperature or heat flow on the crack is prescribed. The body boundary is heat-insulated or is at zero temperature. The dependence of the stress intensity factor on the depth of occurrence of a circular crack at a constant temperature or under a constant heat flow is studied. In contrast to mechanical loading, thermal loading shows less SIF values than in an infinite body __________ Translated from Prikladnaya Mekhanika, Vol. 43, No. 4, pp. 46–54, April 2007.  相似文献

Mathematical modeling of gravitational heat convection in a closed rectangular domain with finite-thickness heat-conducting walls in the presence of a heat-releasing element with a constant heat-release intensity located at the base of the domain under conditions of convective-radiative heat transfer on one external boundary is performed. The influence of constitutive parameters (Grashof number and relative thermal conductivity) and flow unsteadiness on local thermohydrodynamic characteristics (streamlines and temperature field) and on the integral parameter (mean Nusselt number on the inner surface of the solid walls) is analyzed. Results obtained for two models of the heat source (with a constant temperature and with a constant heat-release intensity) are compared.  相似文献

Theoretical study of a three-dimensional laminar boundary layer is a complex problem, but it can be substantially simplified in certain particular cases and even reduced to the solution of ordinary differential equations. One such particular case is the flow of a compressible gas on a streamline in conical external flow. The case is of considerable practical importance because the local heat fluxes may take extremal values on such lines.Such flow, except for the conical case, has been examined [1–4], and an approximate method has been given [1] on the basis of integral relationships and a special form for the approximating functions. A numerical solution has been given [2, 3] for such flow around an infinite cylinder. It was assumed in [1–3] that the Prandtl number and the specific heats were constant, and that the dynamic viscosity was proportional to temperature. Heat transfer has been examined [4] near a cylinder exposed to a flow of dissociated air. Here we give results from numerical solution of a system of ordinary differential equations for the flow of a compressible gas in a laminar boundary layer on streamlines in conical external flow, with or without influx or withdrawal of a homogeneous gas. It is assumed that the gas is perfect and that the dynamic viscosity has a power-law temperature dependence.  相似文献

An analysis was made to investigate non-Darcian fully developed flow and heat transfer in a porous channel bounded by two parallel walls subjected to uniform heat flux. The Brinkmanextended Darcy model was employed to study the effect of the boundary viscous frictional drag on hydrodynamic and heat transfer characteristics. An exact expression has been derived for the Nusselt number under the uniform wall heat flux condition. Approximate results were also obtained by exploiting a momentum integral relation and an auxiliary relation implicit in the Brinkmanextended Darcy model. Excellent agreement was confirmed between the approximate and exact solutions even in details of velocity and temperature profiles.  相似文献

The problem of the distribution of contact stresses resulting from the interaction between a journal and its bearing was considered in [1]. This paper deals with the problem of temperature distribution in the area of contact of a rotating cylindrical shaft and a bearing. The process is assumed to be stabilized. The problem reduces to an integral equation with respect to the contact temperature at the shaft surface. An approximate method is proposed for solving the integral equation which had permitted the derivation of a simple approximate formula for the contact temperature within any range of variation of the parameters of this problem.  相似文献

We consider the flow, which is induced by differential heating on the boundaries of a porous cavity heated from below. In particular we allow the sidewalls to have the same cold temperature as the upper surface, and thus the problem is a variant of the Darcy-Bénard convection problem, but one where there is flow at all non-zero Grashof numbers. Attention is focused on how the flow and heat transfer is affected by variations in the cavity aspect ratio, the Grashof number and the Darcy number. The flow becomes weaker as the Darcy number decreases from the pure fluid limit towards the Darcy-flow limit. In addition the number of cells which form in the cavity varies primarily with the aspect ratio and is always even due to the symmetry imposed by the cold sidewalls.  相似文献

An analysis of steady laminar mixed-convection heat transfer from a rotating or nonrotating axisymmetric body is presented. A mixed-convection parameter is proposed to serve as a controlling parameter that determines the relative importance of the forced and the free convection. In addition, a rotation parameter is introduced to indicate the relative contributions of the flow forced convection and the rotational forced convection. The values of both these two parameters lie between 0 and 1. Furthermore, the coordinates and dependent variables are transformed to yield computationally efficient numerical solutions that are valid over the entire range of mixed convection from the forced-convection limit (rotating or nonrotating bodies) to the pure free-convection limit (non-rotating bodies) and the entire regime of forced convection from the pure flow forced-convection limit (nonrotating bodies) to pure rotational forced-convection limit (rotating bodies). The effects of mixed-convection intensity, body rotation, fluid suction or injection, and fluid Prandtl number on the velocity profiles, the temperature profiles, the skin-friction parameter, and heat transfer parameter are clearly illustrated for both cases of buoyancy assisting and opposing flow conditions.  相似文献

The focus of the present study is to obtain exact solutions for the flow of a viscous hydromagnetic fluid due to the rotation of an infinite disk in the presence of an axial uniform steady magnetic field with the inclusion of Hall current effect. In place of the traditional von Karman's axisymmetric evolution of the flow, the rotational non-axisymmetric stationary conducting flow is taken into consideration here, whose governing equations allow an exact solution to develop bounded everywhere in the normal direction to the wall. The three-dimensional equations of motion are treated analytically yielding derivation of exact solutions, which differ from those of corresponding to the classical von Karman's conducting flow. Making use of this solution, analytical formulas for the angular velocity components, for the current density field as well as for the wall shear stresses are extracted. The critical peripheral locations at which extrema of the local skin friction occur are also determined. It is proved from the analytical results that for the specific flow the properly defined thicknesses decay as the magnetic field strength increases in magnitude, approaching their hydrodynamic value in the limit of large Hall numbers.Interaction of the resolved flow field with the surrounding temperature is further analyzed via the energy equation. The temperature field is shown to accord with the dissipation function. According to the Fourier's heat law, a constant heat transfer from the disk to the fluid occurs, though it increases by the presence of magnetic field, the increase is slowed down by the Hall effect eventually reaching its hydrodynamic limit.  相似文献

Time-developing direct numerical simulation (DNS) was performed to clarify the higher-order turbulent behaviors in the thermally-driven boundary layers both in air and water along a heated vertical flat plate. The predicted statistics of the heat transfer rates and the higher-order turbulent behaviors such as skewness factors, flatness factors and spatial correlation coefficients of the velocity and temperature fluctuations in the natural-convection boundary layer correspond well with those obtained from experiments for space-developing flows. The numerical results reveal that the turbulent structures of the buoyancy-driven boundary layers are mainly controlled by the fluid motions in the outer region of the boundary layer, and these large-scale structures are strongly connected with the generation of turbulence in the thermally-driven boundary layers, in accordance with the actual observations for space-developing flows. Moreover, to specify the turbulence structures of the boundary layers, the cross-correlation coefficients and the characteristic length scales are examined for the velocity and thermal fields. Consequently, it is found that with a slight increase in freestream velocity, the cross-correlation coefficient for the Reynolds shear stress and turbulent heat flux increases for opposing flow and decreases for aiding flow, and the integral scales for the velocity and temperature fields become larger for opposing flow and smaller for aiding flow compared with those for the pure natural-convection boundary layer.  相似文献

In [1–3] a series of problems of the motion of heat sources at a temperature higher than the melting point of the surrounding medium was considered. The heat source could be a laser beam or a hot body. Here, the case of a thin wedge heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of the surrounding medium and moving at a constant velocity is investigated. The velocity is high enough for the molten layer formed to be thin. The problem is solved by the method of integral relations. The shape of the molten zone, the drag on the wedge and other flow characteristics of the melt are determined. Moscow. The aim of this paper is to present the formulas for computing the effectiveness and spatial temperature distribution of each stream and the wall of the two-pass countercrossflow heat exchangers with both fluids unmixed throughout for all possible flow arrangements. Making the usual idealizations for analysis of any heat exchanger flow arrangement and giving the coupling conditions for each pass, the problem of finding the spatial temperature distributions in the crossflow heat exchanger core is reduced to the solution of Fredholm's second order integral equation. By using the collocation method the solution of this integral equation is obtainable in the form of power series. The explicit formulas for the spatial temperature distributions and effectiveness are then obtained by simple integrations. The new relations are particularly helpful for computer-aided design procedures of two-pass countercrossflow heat exchangers.  相似文献

This paper investigates mixed free and forced convection of non-Newtonian fluids from a vertical isothermal plate embedded in a homogenous porous medium. A mathematical model is developed based on the modified Darcy's law and boundary-layer approximations, and the exact similarity solution is obtained as well as an integral solution. These two solutions agree within 3% for aiding flows and 10% for opposing flows. It is found that, non-Newtonian characteristics of fluids have appreciable influences on velocity profiles, temperature distributions and flow regimes.  相似文献

An approximate analytical solution of the one-dimensional conduction equation with a natural convection boundary condition is presented. The solution is based on the heat balance integral technique and possesses considerable utility. The accuracy of the solution is tested by comparison with an exact solution for a range of linear forced convection problems and with a Crank-Nicolson solution for a range of nonlinear free convection problems. It is demonstrated that significant differences can occur between the temperature responses of a solid cooled by either free of forced convective flow at similar Biot numbers.  相似文献
