The synthesis and structure resolution of RbLaF(4) are described. RbLaF(4) is synthesized by solid-state reaction between RbF and LaF(3) at 425 °C under a nonoxidizing atmosphere. Its crystal structure has been resolved by combining neutron and synchrotron powder diffraction data refinements (Pnma,a = 6.46281(2) ?, b = 3.86498(1) ?, c = 16.17629(4) ?, Z = 4). One-dimensional (87)Rb, (139)La, and (19)F MAS NMR spectra have been recorded and are in agreement with the proposed structural model. Assignment of the (19)F resonances is performed on the basis of both (19)F-(139)La J-coupling multiplet patterns observed in a heteronuclear DQ-filtered J-resolved spectrum and (19)F-(87)Rb HMQC MAS experiments. DFT calculations of both the (19)F isotropic chemical shieldings and the (87)Rb, (139)La electric field gradient tensors using the GIPAW and PAW methods implemented in the CASTEP code are in good agreement with the experimental values and support the proposed structural model. Finally, the conductivity of RbLaF(4) and luminescence properties of Eu-doped LaRbF(4) are investigated.  相似文献

A new solid-state MAS NMR experiment is proposed to accurately measure heteronuclear (19)F-(207)Pb J-coupling constants, even though these couplings are not visible on high speed (19)F 1D MAS spectra; in particular, we demonstrate that the J-resolved experiment combined with scalar multiple-quantum filtering considerably improves the resolution of J-multiplet patterns for dilute spin systems.  相似文献

Long-range scalar 5J(H1',F) couplings were observed in 5-fluoropyrimidine-substituted RNA. We developed a novel S3E-19F-alpha,beta-edited NOESY experiment for quantitation of these long-range scalar 5J(H1',F) couplings, where the J-couplings can be extracted from inspection of intraresidual (H1',H6) NOE cross-peaks. Quantum chemical calculations were exploited to investigate the relation between scalar couplings and conformations around the glycosidic bond in oligonucleotides. The theoretical dependence of the observed 5J(H1',F) couplings on the torsion angle chi can be described by a generalized Karplus relationship. The corresponding density functional theory (DFT) analysis is outlined. Additional NMR experiments facilitating the resonance assignments of 5-fluoropyrimidine-substituted RNAs are described, and chemical shift changes due to altered shielding in the presence of fluorine-19 (19F) are presented.  相似文献

The X-ray crystal structure of 1H-pyrazole-3-(N-tert-butyl)-carboxamide was determined. In the solid state, the 13C and 15N CP/MAS NMR spectra correspond to this tautomer. In solution, both tautomers are present in a ratio that depends on the temperature (at 293 K, 90% 3-substituted/10% 5-substituted). Some unusual 1H, 1H couplings involving the NH proton were observed. DFT (GIAO) calculations were carried out.  相似文献

NMR J-couplings across hydrogen bonds reflect the static and dynamic character of hydrogen bonding. They are affected by thermal and solvent effects and can therefore be used to probe such effects. We have applied density functional theory (DFT) to compute the NMR (n)J(N,H) scalar couplings of a prototypical Chagas disease drug (metronidazole). The calculations were done for the molecule in vacuo, in microsolvated cluster models with one or few water molecules, in snapshots obtained from molecular dynamics simulations with explicit water solvent, and in a polarizable dielectric continuum. Hyperconjugative and electrostatic effects on spin-spin coupling constants were assessed through DFT calculations using natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis and atoms in molecules (AIM) theory. In the calculations with explicit solvent molecules, special attention was given to the nature of the hydrogen bonds formed with the solvent molecules. The results highlight the importance of properly incorporating thermal and solvent effects into NMR calculations in the condensed phase.  相似文献

1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-5,6,7,8-tetrafluoro-9-methyltriptycene was studied in NMR spectra at low temperatures where the methyl group dynamics is frozen. Values of 5J(19F,1H), 1J(13C,1H), and 2J(1H,1H) for the individual methyl protons were measured. They are in a fair agreement with the corresponding theoretical values calculated at a density functional theory (DFT) level. The 5J(19F,1H) couplings involve the peri-F nucleus and occur via the 'through space' mechanism. Both the natural bond orbital analysis (at a HF level) and the observed pattern of 1J(13C,1H) coupling values corroborate occurrence in this molecule of intramolecular, blue-shifting hydrogen bonds engaging the methyl hydrogens. The 'through space' 5J(19F,1H) couplings may indicate the routes of electron density transfers that escape detection by the natural bond analysis. A consideration of these effects can enrich the chemical intuition involving this specific sort of H-bonds.  相似文献

Advances in solid-state NMR methodology and computational chemistry are applied to the (19)F NMR of solid octafluoronaphthalene. It is demonstrated experimentally, and confirmed by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, that the spectral resolution in the magic-angle spinning spectrum is limited by the anisotropy of the bulk magnetic susceptibility (ABMS). This leads to the unusual observation that the resolution improves as the sample is diluted. DFT calculations provide assignments of each of the peaks in the (19)F spectrum, but the predictions are close to the limits of accuracy and correlation information from 2-D NMR is invaluable in confirming the assignments. The effects of non-Gaussian lineshapes on the use of 2-D NMR for mapping correlations of spectral frequencies (e.g. due to the ABMS) are also discussed.  相似文献

The structure of the very strong solid Lewis acid aluminum chlorofluoride (ACF, AlCl(x)F(3-x), x = 0.05-0.3) was studied by IR, ESR, Cl K XANES, (19)F MAS NMR, and (27)Al SATRAS NMR spectroscopic methods and compared with amorphous aluminum fluoride conventionally prepared by dehydration of alpha-AlF(3) x 3H(2)O. The thermal behavior of both compounds was investigated by DTA and XRD. In comparison to ACF, amorphous AlF(3) prepared in a conventional way is not catalytically active for the isomerization reaction of 1,2-dibromohexafluoropropane, which requires a very strong Lewis acid. Both compounds are mainly built up of corner-sharing AlF(6) octahedra forming a random network. The degree of disorder in ACF is higher than in amorphous AlF(3). Terminal fluorine atoms were detected in ACF by (19)F NMR. The chlorine in ACF does not exist as a separate, crystalline AlCl(3) phase. Additionally, chlorine-containing radicals, remaining from the synthesis, are trapped in cavities of ACF. These radicals are stable at room temperature but do not take part in the catalytic reaction.  相似文献

The conversion of (C2.5F)n fluorine-graphite intercalation compounds (GIC) into covalent graphite fluoride during a post-treatment in pure F2 gas is studied by solid-state NMR. First, a careful characterization of the starting material is performed; in particular, for the first time for fluorinated carbons, two-dimensional 19F--> 13C cross-polarization wide-line separation (CP-WISE) experiments were carried out. This completes the classical NMR data such as 19F and 13C chemical shifts, quantitative 13C solid echo, and C-F bond length measurements, which were estimated by dipolar recoupling using inverse CP MAS. The data of the raw (C2.5F)n and of the samples post-fluorinated at 350, 450, and 550 degrees C were compared to investigate the C-F bonding as a function of the treatment temperature. The C-F bonding is discussed taking into account a hyperconjugation of the C-F bonds with neighboring unfluorinated carbon atoms.  相似文献

A salt-inclusion stannosilicate, [Na3F][SnSi3O9], has been synthesized using a flux-growth method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure consists of six-membered silicate rings linked via corner sharing by SnIVO6 octahedra to form a 3-D framework that delimits two types of channels. The F atoms and Na atoms are located in the structural channels and form a dimer with the anti-Al2Cl6(g) structure. This stannosilicate adopts a new structure and is the first metal silicate that contains both Na+ and F- ions in the channels. The 19F and 29Si MAS NMR and 23Na MQMAS NMR spectra are consistent with the crystallographic results.  相似文献

Doped lanthanum gallate perovskites (LaGaO(3)) constitute some of the most promising electrolyte materials for solid oxide fuel cells operating in the intermediate temperature regime. Here, an approach combining experimental multinuclear NMR spectroscopy with density functional theory total energy and GIPAW NMR calculations yields a comprehensive understanding of the structural and defect chemistries of Sr- and Mg-doped LaGaO(3) anionic conductors. The DFT energetics demonstrate that Ga-V(O)-Ga (V(O) = oxygen vacancy) environments are favored (vs Ga-V(O)-Mg, Mg-V(O)-Mg and Mg-O-Mg-V(O)-Ga) across a range y = 0.0625, 0.125, and 0.25 of fractional Mg contents in LaGa(1-y)Mg(y)O(3-y/2). The results are interpreted in terms of doping and mean phase formation energies (relative to binary oxides) and are compared with previous calculations and experimental calorimetry data. Experimental multinuclear NMR data reveal that while Mg sites remain six-fold coordinated across the range of phase stoichiometries, albeit with significant structural disorder, a stoichiometry-dependent minority of the Ga sites resonate at a shift consistent with Ga(V) coordination, demonstrating that O vacancies preferentially locate in the first anion coordination shell of Ga. The strong Mg-V(O) binding inferred by previous studies is not observed here. The (17)O NMR spectra reveal distinct resonances that can be assigned by using the GIPAW NMR calculations to anions occupying equatorial and axial positions with respect to the Ga(V)-V(O) axis. The disparate shifts displayed by these sites are due to the nature and extent of the structural distortions caused by the O vacancies.  相似文献

We report X‐ray crystallographic and 19F NMR studies of the G‐protein RhoA complexed with MgF3, GDP, and RhoGAP, which has the mutation Arg85′Ala. When combined with DFT calculations, these data permit the identification of changes in transition state (TS) properties. The X‐ray data show how Tyr34 maintains solvent exclusion and the core H‐bond network in the active site by relocating to replace the missing Arg85′ sidechain. The 19F NMR data show deshielding effects that indicate the main function of Arg85′ is electronic polarization of the transferring phosphoryl group, primarily mediated by H‐bonding to O3G and thence to PG. DFT calculations identify electron‐density redistribution and pinpoint why the TS for guanosine 5′‐triphosphate (GTP) hydrolysis is higher in energy when RhoA is complexed with RhoGAPArg85′Ala relative to wild‐type (WT) RhoGAP. This study demonstrates that 19F NMR measurements, in combination with X‐ray crystallography and DFT calculations, can reliably dissect the response of small GTPases to site‐specific modifications.  相似文献

In this study, 95Mo quadrupole couplings in various molydbates were measured easily and accurately with magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR under a directing field of 19.6 T. The resonance frequency of 54 MHz was sufficiently high to remove acoustic ringing artifacts, and the spectra could be analyzed in the usual terms of chemical shift and quadrupolar line shapes. For monomolybdates and molybdite, the quadrupole coupling dominated the NMR response, and the quadrupole parameters could be measured with better accuracy than in previous lower field studies. Moreover, despite the low symmetry of the molybdenum coordination, the usefulness of such measurements to probe molybdenum environments was established by ab initio density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the electric field gradient from known structures. The experimental NMR data correlated perfectly with the refined structures. In isopolymolybdates, the resonances were shapeless and DFT calculations were impossible because of the large and low symmetry unit cells. Nevertheless, empirical but clear NMR signatures were obtained from the spinning sidebands analysis or the MQMAS spectra. This was possible for the first time thanks to the improved baseline and sensitivity at high fields. With the generalization of NMR spectrometers operating above 17 T, it was predicted that 95Mo MAS NMR could evolve as a routine characterization tool for ill-defined structures such as supported molybdates in catalysis.  相似文献

The room temperature structure of Ba(5)Al(3)F(19) has been solved using electron microscopy and synchrotron powder diffraction data. One-dimensional (1D) (27)Al and ultrafast magic-angle-spinning (MAS) (19)F NMR spectra have been recorded and are in agreement with the proposed structural model for Ba(5)Al(3)F(19). The (19)F isotropic chemical shift and (27)Al quadrupolar parameters have been calculated using the CASTEP code from the experimental and density functional theory geometry-optimized structures. After optimization, the calculated NMR parameters of both the (19)F and (27)Al nuclei show improved consistency with the experimental values, demonstrating that the geometry optimization step is necessary to obtain more accurate and reliable structural data. This also enables a complete and unambiguous assignment of the (19)F MAS NMR spectrum of Ba(5)Al(3)F(19). Variable-temperature 1D MAS (19)F NMR experiments have been carried out, showing the occurrence of fluorine ion mobility. Complementary insights were obtained from both two-dimensional (2D) exchange and 2D double-quantum dipolar recoupling NMR experiments, and a detailed analysis of the anionic motion in Ba(5)Al(3)F(19) is proposed, including the distinction between reorientational processes and chemical exchange involving bond breaking and re-formation.  相似文献

The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) shielding and electric field gradient (EFG) tensors of three polymorphs of Mg(2)SiO(4), forsterite (alpha-Mg(2)SiO(4)), wadsleyite (beta-Mg(2)SiO(4)) and ringwoodite (gamma-Mg(2)SiO(4)), have been calculated using a density functional theory (DFT) approach with a planewave basis set and pseudopotential approximation. These Mg(2)SiO(4) polymorphs are the principal components of the Earth down to depths of 660 km and have been proposed as the hosts of water in the Earth's upper mantle and transition zone. A comparison of our calculations with single-crystal spectroscopic data in the literature for the alpha-polymorph, forsterite, shows that both the magnitude and orientation of the shielding and EFG tensors for O and Si can be obtained with sufficient accuracy to distinguish subtle differences in atomic positions between published structures. We compare calculated (17)O MAS NMR quadrupolar powder lineshapes directly with experimental lineshapes and show that we are able to reproduce them within the precision with which the NMR parameters may be determined from multi-parameter fitting. The relatively small amounts of sample available for the beta- and gamma-polymorphs, arising from the high pressures required for synthesis, has hindered the extraction of NMR parameters in previous work. The application of DFT calculations to these high-pressure polymorphs confirms previous spectral assignments, and provides deeper insight into the empirical correlations and observations reported in the literature. These first-principles methods are highly promising for the determination of local bonding in more complex materials, such as the hydrated forms of Mg(2)SiO(4), by aiding analysis of their multinuclear NMR spectra.  相似文献

A series of doubly charged structure-directing agents based on two methylimidazolium moieties linked by a linear bridge of n = 3,4,5, or 6 methylene groups has been used in the synthesis of pure silica zeolites in the presence of fluoride. All of them yielded zeolite TON while only the one with n = 4 was able to produce also zeolite MFI at highly concentrated conditions. In this MFI zeolite, two distinct (19)F MAS NMR resonances with about equal intensity were observed, indicating two different chemical environments for occluded fluoride. With the singly charged 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation, which can be formally considered as the "monomer" of the bis-imidazolium cation with n = 4, TON and MFI were also obtained, and again two (19)F MAS NMR resonances now with largely dissimilar intensities were observed in MFI. Molecular mechanics simulations support a commensurate structure-direction effect for n = 4 in MFI, with each imidazolium ring, in two different orientations, sitting close to the [4(1)5(2)6(2)] cage. Periodic DFT calculations suggest that F in MFI resides always in the [4(1)5(2)6(2)] cages, with the different (19)F resonances observed being due to the different orientation of the closest imidazolium ring.  相似文献

In the process of studying the chemistry of perfluoro[2.2]paracyclophanes (PFPCs), a novel class of compounds, it became necessary to identify some disubstituted products. To achieve this goal, we characterize in this work some monosubstituted PFPCs, identifying their (19)F-(19) F coupling patterns, and establishing a methodology for the assignment of their (19)F chemical shifts. The pattern of coupling constants indicates a skewed geometry in which the upper deck moves towards or away from the substituent, depending on the substituent electron-donor character and size. Quantum chemical calculations, performed at the HF/6-311 + G(d,p)//B3LYP/EPR-III level of theory, confirmed the conformations inferred from coupling constants and reproduced well the values of the couplings. Transmission mechanisms for the FC term of four- and five-bond (19)F-(19) F couplings are discussed in detail. Understanding the conformational preferences of PFPCs and how they are reflected by the coupling constants facilitates the assignment of (19)F chemical shifts in monosubstituted PFPCs and the identification of the disubstituted products.  相似文献

The fluorolytic sol-gel reaction of magnesium methoxide with HF in methanol was studied by (19)F, (1)H and (13)C liquid and solid state NMR. In (19)F NMR five different species were identified, three of which belong to magnesium fluoride nanoparticles, i.e. NMR gave access to local structures of solid particles in suspensions. The long-term evolution of (19)F signals was followed and along with (19)F MAS NMR experiments of sols rotating at 13 kHz mechanistic insights into the ageing processes were obtained.  相似文献
