实验研究了一种基于谐波拟合产生周期性三角形光脉冲串的方法,方案首先利用马赫曾德调制器的载波抑制调制,获得具有周期性起伏的连续光强度信号,然后利用光纤色散所致的射频功率衰落效应,对光强度表达式中四次谐波分量进行抑制,调节调制深度后,光强度表达式将向理想三角形傅里叶展开式的前三项进行逼近,最后以谐波拟合的方式获得重复频率为射频调制频率二倍的周期性三角形光脉冲串.结合实验,在9.862 GHz和7.678 GHz射频调制频率下,获得了脉冲重复频率19.724 Gb/s(脉冲全宽约50.7 ps)和15.356Gb/s(脉冲全宽约65.1 ps)的稳定三角形光脉冲串输出,改变色散量并反向调节调制频率,可进一步改变脉冲的重复频率,所获得的实验结果与理论预期基本符合.  相似文献

A 49 fs pulse at the wavelength of 800 nm was converted to a 26 fs pulse at the wavelength of 400 nm by temporal stretching (frequency chirping) and second harmonic generation from a chirped pulse with subsequent compression. The energy conversion efficiency of 35% was achieved.  相似文献

A novel all-optical method for ultra-wideband (UWB) monocycle pulses generation based on cross polarization modulation (CPM) effect in highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber is proposed and demonstrated. Due to the CPM effect between the probe light and the pump pulse, a pair of polarity-reversed Gaussian pulses is produced. After proper differential delay, an UWB monocycle pulse with 84-ps width and the fractional bandwidth of 153% is generated after photodetection.  相似文献

本文报道用2m单模保偏光纤实现脉冲光谱加宽,经光栅对补偿后,将40ps脉冲压缩到小于10ps的实验结果,分析了影响光脉冲压缩质量的原因。实验结果与理论较好地吻合。  相似文献

Pulse compression based on the combination of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) and optical breakdown is investigated in this paper. The first pulse compression based on SBS features a sharp rising edge while the second based on optical breakdown is characterized by a sharp falling edge, therefore a symmetrical narrow pulse can be produced with this approach. In the experiment, FC-72 is used as the Brillouin medium in the first pulse compression, while HT-270 is chosen as the solvent for optical breakdown in the second pulse compression. A 12-ns pump pulse is first compressed to 6 ns by SBS and then further to about 2 ns with comparatively symmetrical edges after optical breakdown.  相似文献

提出了一种基于时分复用技术的全光纤、全固化的用于惯性约束聚变驱动器的甚多路光脉冲产生系统.系统中采用单纵模振荡器输出连续激光信号,利用时分复用技术结合高速电光调制技术实现序列脉冲的产生和甚多束脉冲的独立整形.采用偏振无关的声光调制技术实现甚多束脉冲的独立输出.每个序列脉冲包含8个子脉冲,子脉冲间隔设置为120ns,对子脉冲独立整形和选单后将其传输放大至微焦耳量级输出.实验成功验证了采用时分复用技术完全可以实现序列脉冲输出,各子脉冲可以独立任意整形且最后的单束输出能量为1.275μJ.  相似文献

Angular dispersion of pump frequencies is shown to be an efficient mechanism for bandwidth enhancement in a noncollinear optical parametric amplifier. We demonstrate the generation of a continuous, simultaneously phase-matched 250-THz parametrically amplified spectrum. The resultant visible-near-IR signal-wave pulses were compressed to a 4-fs duration by a micromachined flexible mirror. Feedback for an iterative computer-controlled dispersion compensation algorithm is based on pulse characterization by second-harmonic generation frequency-resolved optical gating.  相似文献

We demonstrate parabolic optical pulse generation by manipulating the intensity and phase of individual longitudinal modes of a 40 GHz picosecond optical pulse train in the spectral domain. Bright and dark parabolic pulses were generated from a 40 GHz mode-locked fiber laser using a 64-channel arrayed waveguide grating pulse shaper. The obtained parabolic pulse, which can easily generate a linear chirping, is useful for a number of applications to optical signal processing applications, including pulse compression and time-domain optical Fourier transformation.  相似文献

It is experimentally shown that six-channel C + L-band 80-GHz short pulse trains are generated based on parametric process in highly-nonlinear fiber (HNLF). By launching a pulsed pump and three-channel continuous wave (CW) lights into 1-km HNLF, three-channel signals are amplified and three-channel idlers are generated. The waveforms of the generated 80-GHz short pulses are measured by an auto-correlator. The bit-error-rate (BER) of each channel is analyzed numerically. In the back-to-back case, the power penalties of the generated channels are less than 1.5-dB.  相似文献

Using a method more extensively described previously by Cozannet, Threheux and Bouillie, we show how, under simplifying hypotheses on losses, geometrical optics allows to compute the output pulse shape of an optical fiber knowing the input pulse, and some parameters of the light source and fiber.Some examples describe the influence of a rotation of the source and of the index law for graded index fibers on the output pulse shape.  相似文献

We have compressed the output from a beta-barium borate noncollinear optical parametric amplifier to ~7-fs pulse durations, using a micromachined deformable mirror with an efficient search algorithm. This compression method allows phase compensation of both material and gain dispersion, which produces an optimized wavelength-tunable pulse shape for ultrahigh-resolution time-domain spectroscopy.  相似文献

基于交叉相位调制的时间透镜可实现精确的二次相位调制, 但是它在光脉冲压缩领域的应用受到了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率过高的限制. 对该峰值功率的表达式进行了推导, 提出使用带有正色散的传输介质来实现输出段色散, 从而降低了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率.并进一步指出, 可以将基于交叉相位调制的时间透镜应用于4f系统, 来实现光脉冲压缩, 从而更有效地降低了抽运光脉冲的峰值功率. 推导了该系统的抽运光脉冲的峰值功率和分辨率的表达式, 并进行了光脉冲压缩的仿真分析.研究结果表明, 在基于交叉相位调制的4f系统中, 可以利用峰值功率较低的抽运光脉冲产生飞秒量级超短光脉冲; 随着压缩系数的提高, 输出光脉冲的脉冲宽度主要受到4f系统分辨率的限制, 并对4f系统分辨率的提高进行了讨论.  相似文献

The insertion of three continuous-wave optical frequencies in a low-dispersion optical fibre resulted in the generation of a high-repetition-rate train of ultra-short pulses and its simultaneous wavelength conversion. Two of the frequencies were spaced by ∼0.17 THz and multi-wave mixing generated a frequency comb to which is associated a train of 1.6 ps pulses. Wave-mixing between the generated comb and the third input optical frequency then converts the pulse train into different wavelengths. The Split-Step Fourier method was applied to numerically simulate the generation/wavelength conversion and results are in good agreement with experiments.  相似文献

An actively mode-locked laser with tunable repetition rate is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on a programmable electrical pattern generator. By changing the repetition rate of the electrical patterns applied on the in-cavity modulator, the repetition rate of the output optical pulse sequences changes accordingly while the pulse width of the optical pulse train remains almost constant. In other words, the output ultra-short pulse train has a tunable duty cycle. In a proof-of-principle experiment, optical pulses with repetition rates of 10, 5, 2.5 and 1.25 GHz are obtained by adjusting the electrical pattern applied on the in-cavity modulator while their pulse widths remain almost unchanged.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a fiber-based phase-only filtering technique for programmable optical pulse shaping, in which the filtering operation is implemented in the time domain by means of an electro-optical (EO) phase modulator. The technique has been applied for generating customized ultrahigh-repetition-rate optical pulse sequences (>40 GHz) from single input pulses by driving the EO phase modulator with a periodic electronic waveform (RF tone). The generated output pulses are replicas of the input pulse and both the repetition rate and the envelope profile of the generated sequences can be controlled and tuned electronically using this approach.  相似文献

We have demonstrated the idea of circulating a short, intense linac bunch for some tens of turns in an isochronous ring. We compressed a bunch from the SPring-8 linac to a few picoseconds rms by means of an energy compression system and a beam transport line from the linac to NewSUBARU. The NewSUBARU storage ring was set to a quasi-isochronous condition and the bunch circulated for about 50 turns after injection while maintaining the short bunch length. At the same time, a pulse train of strong coherent synchrotron oscillation from the short bunch was observed.  相似文献

The pulse compression induced by cross-phase modulation in birefringent dispersion decreasing fiber is discussed theoretically by solving the coupled Schrödinger equations which include the contribution of the high-order non-linear effects, and third-order dispersion. In particular, it is found that a high quality compressed signal pulse can be obtained by a pump pulse of low intense through the technique. The dependence of optimum compression on the non-linear factor N, time delay τd and the dispersive ratio f is also discussed in detail.  相似文献

We present a theoretical study of temporal and spectral characteristics and pulse compression in hollow waveguides, using a global approach to dispersion without application of the slowly varying envelope approximation. A novel ultrawide self-phase modulation-induced spectral-broadening regime with spectra covering almost 3 octaves is predicted for a pressure at which the group-velocity dispersion parameter is small and anomalous. Compression to subcycle pulses by an appropriate broadband modulator and pulse shortening without chirp control by a spectral filter are studied.  相似文献
