This paper aims to introduce some new ideas into the study of submodules in Hilbert spaces of analytic functions. The effort is laid out in the Hardy space over the bidisk H2(D2). A closed subspace M in H2(D2) is called a submodule if z i M ? M (i = 1, 2). An associated integral operator (defect operator) C M captures much information about M. Using a Kre?n space indefinite metric on the range of C M , this paper gives a representation of M. Then it studies the group (called Lorentz group) of isometric self-maps of M with respect to the indefinite metric, and in finite rank case shows that the Lorentz group is a complete invariant for congruence relation. Furthermore, the Lorentz group contains an interesting abelian subgroup (called little Lorentz group) which turns out to be a finer invariant for M.  相似文献

We show that the open unit ball of the space of operators from a finite-dimensional Hilbert space into a separable Hilbert space (we call it “operator ball”) has a restricted form of normal structure if we endow it with a hyperbolic metric (which is an analogue of the standard hyperbolic metric on the unit disc in the complex plane). We use this result to get a fixed point theorem for groups of biholomorphic automorphisms of the operator ball. The fixed point theorem is used to show that a bounded representation in a separable Hilbert space which has an invariant indefinite quadratic form with finitely many negative squares is unitarizable (equivalent to a unitary representation). We apply this result to find dual pairs of invariant subspaces in Pontryagin spaces. In Appendix A we present results of Itai Shafrir about hyperbolic metrics on the operator ball.  相似文献

A Lorentz surface of an indefinite space form is called a parallel surface if its second fundamental form is parallel with respect to the Van der Waerden-Bortolotti connection. Such surfaces are locally invariant under the reflection with respect to the normal space at each point. Parallel surfaces are important in geometry as well as in general relativity since extrinsic invariants of such surfaces do not change from point to point. Recently, parallel Lorentz surfaces in 4D neutral pseudo Euclidean 4-space $ \mathbb{E}_2^4 $ \mathbb{E}_2^4 and in neutral pseudo 4-sphere S 24 (1) were classified in [14] and in [10], respectively. In this paper, we completely classify parallel Lorentz surfaces in neutral pseudo hyperbolic 4-space H 24 (−1). Our main result states that there are 53 families of parallel Lorentz surfaces in H 24 (−1). Conversely, every parallel Lorentz surface in H 24 (−1) is obtained from the 53 families. As an immediate by-product, we achieve the complete classification of all parallel Lorentz surfaces in 4D neutral indefinite space forms.  相似文献

We obtain a bifurcation result for solutions of the Lorentz equation in a semi-Riemannian manifold; such solutions are critical points of a certain strongly indefinite functionals defined in terms of the semi-Riemannian metric and the electromagnetic field. The flow of the Jacobi equation along each solution preserves the so-called electromagnetic symplectic form, and the corresponding curve in the symplectic group determines an integer valued homology class called the Maslov index of the solution.We study electromagnetic conjugate instants with symplectic techniques, and we prove at first, an analogous of the semi-Riemannian Morse Index Theorem (see (Calculus of Variations, Prentice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, USA, 1963)). By using this result, together with recent results on the bifurcation for critical points of strongly indefinite functionals (see (J. Funct. Anal. 162(1) (1999) 52)), we are able to prove that each non-degenerate and non-null electromagnetic conjugate instant along a given solution of the semi-Riemannian Lorentz force equation is a bifurcation point.  相似文献

In this paper we study the maximum dissipative extension of the Schrödinger operator, introduce the generalized indefinite metric space, obtain the representation of the maximum dissipative extension of the Schrödinger operator in the natural boundary space and make preparation for the further study of the longtime chaotic behavior of the infinite-dimensional dynamics system in the Schrödinger equation.

Recently Hiai-Petz (2009) [10] discussed a parametrized geometry for positive definite matrices with a pull-back metric for a diffeomorphism to the Euclidean space. Though they also showed that the geodesic is a path of operator means, their interest lies mainly in metrics of the geometry. In this paper, we reconstruct their geometry without metrics and then we show their metric for each unitarily invariant norm defines a Finsler one. Also we discuss another type of geometry in Hiai and Petz (2009) [10] which is a generalization of Corach-Porta-Recht’s one [3].  相似文献
