In this study we use Tsallis non-extensive statistics for a new understanding the magnetospheric dynamics and the magnetospheric self-organization during quiet and intensive superstorm periods. The qsens, qstat, and qrel indices set known as the Tsallis q-triplet was estimated during both quiet and strongly active periods, as well as the correlation dimensions and Lyapunov exponents spectrum for magnetospheric bulk plasma flows data. The results obtained by our analysis clearly indicate the magnetospheric phase transition process from a high-dimensional quiet SOC state to a low-dimensional global chaotic state when superstorm events are developed. During such a phase transition process the non-extensive statistical character of the magnetospheric plasma is strengthened as the values of the q-triplet indices changes obtaining higher values than their values during the quiet periods. 相似文献

The microscopic foundation of the generalized equilibrium statistical mechanics based on the Tsallis entropy is given by using the Gibbs idea of statistical ensembles of the classical and quantum mechanics. The equilibrium distribution functions are derived by the thermodynamic method based upon the use of the fundamental equation of thermodynamics and the statistical definition of the functions of the state of the system. It is shown that if the entropic index ξ=1/(q−1) in the microcanonical ensemble is an extensive variable of the state of the system, then in the thermodynamic limit the principle of additivity and the zero law of thermodynamics are satisfied. In particular, the Tsallis entropy of the system is extensive and the temperature is intensive. Thus, the Tsallis statistics completely satisfies all the postulates of the equilibrium thermodynamics. Moreover, evaluation of the thermodynamic identities in the microcanonical ensemble is provided by the Euler theorem. The principle of additivity and the Euler theorem are explicitly proved by using the illustration of the classical microcanonical ideal gas in the thermodynamic limit. 相似文献

There is no generally accepted definition for conditional Tsallis entropy. The standard definition of (unconditional) Tsallis entropy depends on a parameter that converges to the Shannon entropy as approaches 1. In this paper, we describe three proposed definitions of conditional Tsallis entropy suggested in the literature—their properties are studied and their values, as a function of , are compared. We also consider another natural proposal for conditional Tsallis entropy and compare it with the existing ones. Lastly, we present an online tool to compute the four conditional Tsallis entropies, given the probability distributions and the value of the parameter . 相似文献

The energy distribution and the energy fluctuation in the Tsallis canonical ensemble are studied with the OLM formalism but following a new way. The resulting formula for the energy fluctuation is not the same as that in previous work [L.Y. Liu, J.L. Du, Physica A 387 (2008) 5417]. In discussing the application of an ideal gas, we find that the energy fluctuation can not be negligible in the thermodynamic limit, showing the ensemble nonequivalence for this case in Tsallis statistics. We investigate the energy fluctuation with a Tsallis generalized canonical distribution studied by Plastino and Plastino [A.R. Plastino, A. Plastino, Phys. Lett. A 193 (1994) 140] for describing a system in contact with a finite heat bath. For this situation, the two formulae for the energy fluctuation are shown to be equivalent, while the nonextensive parameter q plays a very important role. 相似文献

In this paper strong evidence is provided for significant far from equilibrium phase transition processes in the Earth’s magnetosphere as revealed by the nonlinear analysis of in situ observations. These results constitute the solid base for the solution of the durable controversy about the chaotic or non-chaotic character of the magnetospheric dynamics. During the last two decades the concept of low dimensional chaos was supported by theoretical and experimental methods by our group in Thrace and others scientists, as an explicative paradigm of the magnetospheric dynamics including substorm processes. In parallel, the concept of self-organized criticality (SOC) and space-time intermittency was introduced as new and opposing to low dimensional chaos concepts for modeling the magnetospheric dynamics. Novel results concerning the nonlinear analysis of in situ space plasma data (magnetic-electric field, energetic particles and bulk plasma flow time series) obtained by the Geotail spacecraft presented in this paper for the first time reveal the following: (a) Coexistence of SOC and chaos states in the magnetospheric system and global phase transition from one state to the other during substorms. (b) Strong intermittent turbulent character of the magnetospheric system at the SOC or the low dimensional chaos states. (c) Clear indications for non-extensivity and q-Gaussian statistics during periods of low dimensional and chaotic dynamics of the magnetosphere. (d) Low dimensional and nonlinear space plasma dynamics in the day side magnetopause and bow shock dynamics. The dual character of the magnetospheric dynamics including low dimensional chaotic (coherent) and high dimensional turbulent states, as supported in this paper, is in agreement and verifies previous theoretical and experimental studies. 相似文献

In this paper, the iterated conditional modes optimization method of a Markov random field technique for image segmentation is generalized based on Tsallis statistics. It is observed that, for some q entropic index values the new algorithm performs better segmentation than the classical one. The proposed algorithm also does not have a local minimum problem and reaches a global minimum energy point although the number of iterations remains the same as ICM. Based on the findings of the new algorithm, it can be expressed that the new technique can be used for the image segmentation processes in which the objects are Gaussian or nearly Gaussian distributed. 相似文献

In this study, the non-linear analysis of the sunspot index is embedded in the non-extensive statistical theory of Tsallis (1988, 2004, 2009) , and . The q-triplet of Tsallis, as well as the correlation dimension and the Lyapunov exponent spectrum were estimated for the SVD components of the sunspot index timeseries. Also the multifractal scaling exponent spectrum f(a), the generalized Renyi dimension spectrum D(q) and the spectrum J(p) of the structure function exponents were estimated experimentally and theoretically by using the q-entropy principle included in Tsallis non-extensive statistical theory, following Arimitsu and Arimitsu (2001, 2000) and . Our analysis showed clearly the following: (a) a phase transition process in the solar dynamics from high dimensional non-Gaussian SOC state to a low dimensional non-Gaussian chaotic state, (b) strong intermittent solar turbulence and anomalous (multifractal) diffusion solar process, which is strengthened as the solar dynamics makes a phase transition to low dimensional chaos in accordance to Ruzmaikin, Zeleny and Milovanov’s studies (Zelenyi and Milovanov (1991) [21]); Milovanov and Zelenyi (1993) [22]; Ruzmakin et al. (1996) [26]) (c) faithful agreement of Tsallis non-equilibrium statistical theory with the experimental estimations of (i) non-Gaussian probability distribution function P(x), (ii) multifractal scaling exponent spectrum f(a) and generalized Renyi dimension spectrum Dq, (iii) exponent spectrum J(p) of the structure functions estimated for the sunspot index and its underlying non equilibrium solar dynamics. 相似文献

The pathway model of Mathai [A pathway to matrix-variate gamma and normal densities, Linear Algebra Appl. 396 (2005) 317–328] is shown to be inferable from the maximization of a certain generalized entropy measure. This entropy is a variant of the generalized entropy of order α, considered in Mathai and Rathie [Basic Concepts in Information Theory and Statistics: Axiomatic Foundations and Applications, Wiley Halsted, New York and Wiley Eastern, New Delhi, 1975], and it is also associated with Shannon, Boltzmann–Gibbs, Rényi, Tsallis, and Havrda–Charvát entropies. The generalized entropy measure introduced here is also shown to have interesting statistical properties and it can be given probabilistic interpretations in terms of inaccuracy measure, expected value, and information content in a scheme. Particular cases of the pathway model are shown to be Tsallis statistics [C. Tsallis, Possible generalization of Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics, J. Stat. Phys. 52 (1988) 479–487] and superstatistics introduced by Beck and Cohen [Superstatistics, Physica A 322 (2003) 267–275]. We introduce Tsallis mapping in Bianconi-Barab'asi (B-B) fitness model of growing networks.This mapping addresses the dynamical behavior of the fitness model within the framework of nonextensive statistics mechanics,which is characterized by a dimensionless nonextensivity parameter q.It is found that this new phenomenological parameter plays an important role in the evolution of networks:the underlying evolving networks may undergo a different phases depending on the q exponents,comparing to the original B-B fitness model,and the corresponding critical transition temperature T C is also identified. 相似文献

In this paper, based on the discrete lifetime distribution, the residual and past of the Tsallis and Renyi extropy are introduced as new measures of information. Moreover, some of their properties and their relation to other measures are discussed. Furthermore, an example of a uniform distribution of the obtained models is given. Moreover, the softmax function can be used as a discrete probability distribution function with a unity sum. The quantum vibrational partition function has been obtained in the Tsallis statistics framework for the entropic index, q, between 1 and 2. The effect of non-extensivity on the population of states and thermodynamic properties have been studied and compared with their corresponding values obtained in the Boltzmann-Gibbs (BG) statistics. Our results show that the non-extensive partition function of harmonic oscillator at any temperature is larger than its corresponding values for an extensive system and that their differences increase with temperature and entropic index. Also, the number of accessible states increases with q but, compared to the BG statistics, the occupation number decreases for low energy levels while the population of the higher energy levels increases. The internal energy and heat capacity have also been obtained for the non-extensive harmonic oscillator system. Results indicate that the heat capacity is greater than its corresponding value in the extensive (BG) system at low temperatures but that this trend is reversed at higher temperatures. 相似文献

We re-measured the fractal dimension of the Hénon attractor by direct box-counting. We paid special attention to (a) optimal speed and use of storage, and (b) systematic corrections due to the finiteness of the number of iterations. Covering with grids of up to 9600 × 9600 boxes, we observe that the number N(?, n) of boxes visited after n iterations obeys a scaling law N(?, ∞) - N(?, n) ≈ const × ?-αn-β (for n → ∞) with α = 2.42 ± 0.15, β = 0.89 ± 0.03. Using this extrapolate to n → ∞, we obtain D = 1.28 ± 0.01 in disagreement with previous box-counting estimates, but in agreement with a recent indirect evaluation. 相似文献

This paper studies the possible dynamical property of the
Tsallis distribution from a Fokker--Planck equation. For the
Langevin dynamical system with an {arbitrary} potential function,
Markovian friction and Gaussian white noise, it shows that the
current form of Tsallis distribution cannot describe any
nonequilibrium dynamics of the system, and it only stands for a
simple isothermal situation of the system governed by a potential
field. So the form of Tsallis distribution and many existing
applications using the Tsallis distribution need to be
