Gorenstein homological algebra was introduced in categories of modules. But it has proved to be a fruitful way to study various other categories such as categories of complexes and of sheaves. In this paper, the research of relative homological algebra in categories of discrete modules over profinite groups is initiated. This seems appropriate since (in some sense) the subject of Gorenstein homological algebra had its beginning with Tate homology and cohomology over finite groups. We prove that if the profinite group has virtually finite cohomological dimension then every discrete module has a Gorenstein injective envelope, a Gorenstein injective cover and we study various cohomological dimensions relative to Gorenstein injective discrete modules. We also study the connection between relative and Tate cohomology theories.  相似文献

We study compact homomorphisms between uniform Fréchet algebras, by analyzing the behavior of its spectral adjoint on the underlying spectrum. We prove that every compact homomorphism between uniform Fréchet algebras actually ranges into a uniform Banach algebra, and that its spectral adjointmaps τ-bounded subsets into relatively τ-compact subsets, when τ is the strong or the compact-open topology.  相似文献

We establish a general slice theorem for the action of a locally convex Lie group on a locally convex manifold, which generalizes the classical slice theorem of Palais to infinite dimensions. We discuss two important settings under which the assumptions of this theorem are fulfilled. First, using Glöckner's inverse function theorem, we show that the linear action of a compact Lie group on a Fréchet space admits a slice. Second, using the Nash–Moser theorem, we establish a slice theorem for the tame action of a tame Fréchet Lie group on a tame Fréchet manifold. For this purpose, we develop the concept of a graded Riemannian metric, which allows the construction of a path-length metric compatible with the manifold topology and of a local addition. Finally, generalizing a classical result in finite dimensions, we prove that the existence of a slice implies that the decomposition of the manifold into orbit types of the group action is a stratification.  相似文献

A suitable measure for the similarity of shapes represented by parameterized curves or surfaces is the Fréchet distance. Whereas efficient algorithms are known for computing the Fréchet distance of polygonal curves, the same problem for triangulated surfaces is NP-hard. Furthermore, it remained open whether it is computable at all. Using a discrete approximation, we show that it is upper semi-computable, i.e., there is a non-halting Turing machine which produces a decreasing sequence of rationals converging to the Fréchet distance. It follows that the decision problem, whether the Fréchet distance of two given surfaces lies below a specified value, is recursively enumerable.  相似文献

We study strict inductive limits of Fréchet Montel (FM) spaces and reflexive Fréchet (RF) spaces and we obtain some interesting examples in the theory of infinite dimensional holomorphy. PM(kE′) and PHY(kE′) will denote respectively the set of all k-homogeneous polynomials on E′ that are bounded on bounded sets and the set of all k-homogeneous polynomials on E′ that are continuous on compact sets. ?SM(kE′) is the space of all symetric k -multilinear mappings from E′ × ... × E′ into C that are bounded on bounded sets. We study geometrical aspects of the space of smooth fibrations between two given manifolds M and B, from the point of view of Fréchet geometry. As a first result, we show that any connected component of this space is the base space of a Fréchet-smooth principal bundle with the identity component of the group of diffeomorphisms of M as total space. Second, we prove that the space of fibrations is also itself the total space of a smooth Fréchet principal bundle with structure group the group of diffeomorphisms of the base B.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a compact (countably compact) set to be closed in S 2 (Fréchet, S 2) and in normal (Fréchet, normal) spaces. Sufficient conditions are obtained for (i) the closedness of arbitrary (countable) union of closed sets and (ii) the equality of the union of the closures and the closure of the union of arbitrary (countable) families of sets, in such spaces. Countable compactness of the closure of a countably compact set in Fréchet, S 2-spaces, and related results are also obtained.  相似文献

We start with a discussion on Alexander invariants, and then prove some general results concerning the divisibility of the Alexander polynomials and the supports of the Alexander modules, via Artin's vanishing theorem for perverse sheaves. We conclude with explicit computations of twisted cohomology following an idea already exploited in the hyperplane arrangement case, which combines the degeneration of the Hodge to de Rham spectral sequence with the purity of some cohomology groups.

We research proximinality of μ‐sequentially compact sets and μ‐compact sets in measurable function spaces. Next we show a correspondence between the Kadec–Klee property for convergence in measure and μ‐compactness of the sets in Banach function spaces. Also the property S is investigated in Fréchet spaces and employed to provide the Kadec–Klee property for local convergence in measure. We discuss complete criteria for continuity of metric projection in Fréchet spaces with respect to the Hausdorff distance. Finally, we present the necessary and sufficient condition for continuous metric selection onto a one‐dimensional subspace in sequence Lorentz spaces .  相似文献

The semilocal convergence for a modified multi-point Jarratt method for solving non-linear equations in Banach spaces is established with the third-order Fréchet derivative of the operator under a general continuity condition. The recurrence relations are derived for the method, and from this, we prove an existence-uniqueness theorem, and give a priori error bounds. The R-order of the method is also analyzed with the third-order Fréchet derivative of the operator under different continuity conditions. Numerical application on non-linear integral equation of the mixed type is given to show our approach.  相似文献

We present conditions under which the subdifferential of a proper convex lower-semicontinuous functional in a Fréchet space is a bounded upper-semicontinuous mapping. The theorem on the boundedness of a subdifferential is also new for Banach spaces. We present several formulae for the proximal and Fréchet subdifferentials of the minimal time function defined by a linear control system and a target set. At every point inside the target set, the proximal/Fréchet subdifferential is the intersection of the proximal/Fréchet normal cone of the target set and an upper level set of a so-called Hamiltonian function which depends only on the linear control system. At every point outside the target set, under a mild assumption, proximal/Fréchet subdifferential is the intersection of the proximal/Fréchet normal cone of an enlargement of the target set and a level set of the Hamiltonian function.  相似文献

We investigate the maximum increment of a random walk with heavy-tailed jump size distribution. Here heavy-tailedness is understood as regular variation of the finite-dimensional distributions. The jump sizes constitute a strictly stationary sequence. Using a continuous mapping argument acting on the point processes of the normalized jump sizes, we prove that the maximum increment of the random walk converges in distribution to a Fréchet distributed random variable.  相似文献

In this article we extend well-known results of Livsic on theregularity of measurable solutions to the cocycle equation.Livsic proved a regularity result for real valued cocycles,but for compact Lie group valued cocycles his result was restrictedto coboundaries (that is, trivial or constant cocycles). We define a topology τe, on anyC-algebra of discrete valuation, generalizing the topology of coefficientwise convergence on C[[X]] studied by G. R. Allan. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for τe to be complete and prove that the completion provides an algebra of discrete valuation. We also prove that if aC-algebra of discrete valuation is Fréchet andm-convex for τe then it is isomorphic to (C[[X]], τe) and then τe is the uniqueF-algebra topology in A. We prove that a commutative, unital Fréchet l.m.c.a. that is aC-algebra of valuation is in fact aC-algebra of discrete valuation and so is embeddable in (C[[X]], τe). Whence a result of H. In this paper, in terms of the Fréchet normal cone, we establish exact separation results for finitely many disjoint closed sets in an Asplund space, which supplement the extremal principle and some fuzzy separation theorems. As an application, we provide a new optimality condition for a constraint optimization problem in terms of Fréchet subdifferential and Fréchet normal cone.  相似文献

In this article, we construct Chern classes in rational Deligne cohomology for coherent sheaves on a smooth complex compact manifold. We prove that these classes satisfy the functoriality property under pullbacks, the Whitney formula and the Grothendieck–Riemann–Roch theorem for projective morphisms between smooth complex compact manifolds.  相似文献
