This paper presents a static method for the axial load identification of slender prismatic beams with uncertain length and unknown boundary conditions as is typical of struts and ties of truss structures or tie-rods of arches and vaults. The proposed method requires the knowledge of the beam flexural rigidity only. Flexural displacements or curvatures are measured at five cross sections of the beam subjected to an additional concentred lateral load. Unlike analogous dynamic methods, any set of experimental data may be used in the identification algorithm. The proposed algorithm is verified by means of many numerical and experimental tests on beams having different boundary conditions. Excellent estimates of the axial forces are obtained when the greatest possible distance between sensors is adopted, even if in the presence of high values of the axial forces very accurate displacement measurements are required.  相似文献

针对盾构隧道管片接头等效抗弯刚度预测研究中,对梁-弹簧与三维模型整体等效性考虑的不充分,以三维接触有限元计算结果作为测量信息,借助基于挠度等效的反问题求解,提出了一种确定管片接头等效抗弯刚度的新方法;并利用不同轴力-偏心距组合下的反演结果,建立了基于Kriging代理模型的轴力-弯矩-等效抗弯刚度的非线性关系,提出了由此关联的管片结构非线性问题的数值求解方法。与三维有限元结果相比,所提方法可较为准确地预测管片结构的内力和变形,表现出良好的整体等效性。此外,借助三维接触有限元分析,进一步深入探讨了螺栓孔间隙与衬垫本构关系对管片纵向错台量的影响。  相似文献

Based upon the linearised theories of the bending and stretching of thin plates, an analysis is presented for the interaction between non-prismatic beams and an orthotropic concrete plate. It is shown that an exponential representation for the steel beam profiles provides a suitable basis for studying interaction in continuous non-prismatic beams, and for deducing suitable effective widths of slab for design purposes. The influence of “elastic” shear connection modulus is studied, as well as the effect of the varying flexural rigidity of the steel beams. The dependence of interaction on shear connection modulus in continuous beams is demonstrated through deflexion and slip characteristics, and so also is the dependence of interaction on the severity of the variation of flexural rigidity. The solution can be specialised to the limiting case of prismatic steel beams and a concrete slab and also to the solutions of rectangular plates with certain edge conditions.  相似文献

There has been little experimental work on flexural wave propagation in general and on flexural wave propagation in beams with discontinuities of cross section in particular. Experimental data are obtained for various test beams subjected to eccentric longitudinal impact. The bending strain versus time results are presented for several positions along a uniform beam and finite beams (of circular cross section) with discontinuities of cross section. Bending strain histories are recorded at several positions before and after the discontinuity. The effect of reflections on the propagated flexural wave is illustrated. The dispersion of the traveling flexural wave caused several alternating peaks within the duration of the original positive input pulse. The importance of investigating discontinuities of cross section in structures subjected to impact loading is clearly manifested.  相似文献

The free vibration of axially functionally graded (FG) non-uniform beams with different boundary conditions is studied using Differential Transformation (DT) based Dynamic Stiffness approach. This method is capable of modeling any beam (Timoshenko or Euler, centrifugally stiffened or not) whose cross sectional area, moment of Inertia and material properties vary along the beam. The effectiveness of the method is confirmed by comparing the present results with existing closed form solutions and numerical results. In FG beams, flexural rigidity and mass density may take majority of functions including polynomials, trigonometric and exponential functions (converted to polynomial expressions). DT based Dynamic stiffness approach is proved to be a versatile and simple approach compared to many other methods already proposed.  相似文献

Dirac’s delta functions enable simple and effective representations of point loads and singularities in a variety of structural problems, leading very often to elegant and otherwise unworkable closed-form solutions. This is the case of cracked beams under static loads, whose theoretical and practical significance has attracted in recent years the interest of many researchers. Nevertheless, analytical formulations currently available for this problem are not completely satisfactory, either in terms of computational efficiency, when the continuity conditions must be enforced with auxiliary equations, or in terms of physical consistency, when the singularities in the beam’s flexural rigidity are represented with Dirac’s delta functions having a questionable negative sign. These considerations motivate the present study, which offers a novel and physically-based modelling of slender Euler–Bernoulli beams and short Timoshenko beams with any number and severity of cracks, conducing in both cases to exact closed-form solutions. For validation purposes, a standard finite element code is used, along with two nascent deltas (uniform and Gaussian density functions) to describe a smeared increase in the bending flexibility around the abscissa of the crack.  相似文献

Using the multipoles method, we formulate the problems of radiation (both heave and sway) of water waves by a submerged sphere in deep as well as in uniform finite depth water with an ice-cover, with the ice-cover being modelled as an elastic plate of very small thickness. In each case this leads to an infinite system of linear equations which are solved numerically by standard techniques. The added-mass and damping coefficients for a heaving and swaying sphere are obtained and depicted graphically against the wave number for various values of the radius of the submerged sphere and flexural rigidity of the ice-cover to show the effect of the presence of ice-cover on these quantities. When the flexural rigidity is taken to be zero, the numerical results for the added-mass and damping coefficient for water with a free surface are recovered.  相似文献

In this paper large deflection and rotation of a nonlinear Bernoulli-Euler beam with variable flexural rigidity and subjected to a static co-planar follower loading is studied. It is assumed that the angle of inclination of the force with respect to the deformed axis of the beam remains unchanged during deformation. The governing equation of this problem is solved analytically for the first time using a new kind of analytical technique for nonlinear problems, namely the Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM). The present solution can be used for the analysis of a wide range of loads, material/cross section properties and lengths for beams undergoing large deformations. The results obtained from HAM are compared with results reported in previous works. Finally, the load–displacement characteristics of a uniform cantilever beam with different material properties under a follower force applied normal to the deformed beam axis are presented.  相似文献

For the orthotropic piezoelectric plane problem, a series of piezoelectric beams is solved and the corresponding exact solutions are obtained with the trial-anderror method on the basis of the general solution in the case of three distinct eigenvalues, in which all displacements, electrical potential, stresses and electrical displacements are expressed by three displacement functions in terms of harmonic polynomials. These problems are rectangular beams having rigid body displacements and identical electrical potential, rectangular beams under uniform tension and electric displacement as well as pure shearing and pure bending, beams of two free ends subjected to uniform electrical potential on the upper and lower surfaces.  相似文献

Shear-lag effect in CFRP (carbon-fiberreinforced plastic) I-beams is investigated by applying Reissner's method concerning box beams to CFRP I-beams. This modified beam theory (MBT) assumes that the flanges are orthotropic and includes the effect of the shearing rigidity of the web and the deformation of the flanges themselves. The anisotropy of the flanges causes the decrease of the flexural rigidity of I-beams. The decrease, however, is restrained by a preventive action on the shear-lag effect in the flanges with a decrease of the anisotropy ratio due to the selection of fiber orientation. In order to verify this MBT, I-beam structures were fabricated from carbon fiber and epoxy resin using three different lay-up schemes: unidirectional, quasi-isotropic, and a ±45-deg angle-ply. The stiffness and shear-lag effect of these I-beams were measured and compared with results from the composite beam theory and MBT. The theoretical load-deflection curves and the strain distributions agreed well with the corresponding experimental results.  相似文献

The method of expansion of three-dimensional displacements in a double power series of the transverse coordinates is employed to find one-dimensional equations applicable to low frequency vibrations of uniform, elastic, isotropic and anisotropic bars. The axial displacements accompanying torsion are chosen specially for each cross-sectional shape of bar—resulting in the correct, or nearly correct, torsional rigidity. The bending problems of nonuniform beams with variable cross-section can be approximated by that of a step beam under sectionally uniform load (including both concentrated forces and couples). In this paper, the concept of Heaviside function {x-a}0 will be generalized, and a new function {x-a}0, n=0,1,2…,will be defined, which may be named as a generalized step function. The rules of operation will also be given to {x-a}n{x-b}0. The reciprocal of the flexural of rigidity 1/EJ and the bending moment M(x) can all be expressed in terms of {x-a}n,and substituted into the differential equation of the elastic curve of the beam respectively. Thus we may establish a set of unified method to solve various types of bending problems of straight beams. The general solution of the deflection equation will be given.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the nontrivial equilibrium and the steady-state periodic response of belt-drive system with a one-way clutch and belt flexural rigidity. A nonlinear piecewise discrete–continuous dynamic model is established by modeling the motions of the translating belt spans as transverse vibrations of axially moving viscoelastic beams. The rotations of the pulleys and the accessory are also considered. Furthermore, the transverse vibrations and the rotation motions are coupled by nonlinear dynamic tension. The nontrivial equilibriums of the belt-drive system are obtained by an iterative scheme via the differential and integral quadrature methods (DQM and IQM). Moreover, the periodic fluctuation of the driving pulley is modeled as the excitation of the belt-drive system. The steady-state periodic responses of the dynamic system are, respectively, studied via the high-order Galerkin truncation as well as the DQM and IQM. The time histories of the system are numerically calculated based on the 4th Runge–Kutta time discretization method. Furthermore, the frequency–response curves are presented from the numerical solutions. Based on the steady-state periodic response, the resonance areas of the dynamic system are obtained by using the frequency sweep. Moreover, the influences of the truncation terms of the Galerkin method, such as 6-term, 8-term, 10-term, 12-term, and 16-term, are investigated by comparing with the DQM and IQM. Numerical results demonstrate that the one-way clutch reduces the resonance responses of the belt-drive system via the torque-transmitting directional function. Furthermore, the comparisons in numerical examples show that the investigation on steady-state responses of the belt-drive system with a one-way clutch and belt flexural rigidity needs 16-term truncation  相似文献

In this paper, the dynamic behaviour of free layer damping beams with thick viscoelastic layer is analysed. A homogenised model for the flexural stiffness is formulated employing Reddy and Bickford’s quadratic shear in each layer, in contrast to the classical model of Oberst and Frankenfeld for thin beams, which does not take into account shear deformations. The results provided by these two models in free and forced vibration are compared by means of finite element procedures with those of a 2D model, which considers extensional and shear stress, and longitudinal, transverse and rotational inertias.The viscoelastic material is characterised by a fractional derivative model, which takes into consideration the variation of the complex modulus with frequency. To avoid the frequency dependence of the stiffness matrices, the extraction of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors is completed by a new iterative method developed by the authors. The frequency response to a harmonic force is deduced by the superposition of modal contribution functions.From these numerical applications it can be concluded that the model for thick beams provides sufficient accuracy for practical applications, able to reproduce the mechanical behaviour of free layer damping beams with thick viscoelastic layer, reducing the storage needs and computational time with respect to a 2D model.  相似文献
