The magnetic field effects (MFEs) on photoinduced hydrogen abstraction reactions between benzophenone and thiophenol in an ionic liquid, N,N,N-trimethyl-N-propylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (TMPA TFSI), were studied by a nanosecond laser flash photolysis technique under ultrahigh fields of up to 28 T. Extremely large and anomalous stepwise MFEs were observed for the first time. The escape yield of benzophenone ketyl radical decreased with increasing magnetic field strength (B) at 0 T相似文献

Magnetic field effects (MFEs) on the photoinduced hydrogen abstraction reaction of benzophenone with phenol were investigated in ionic liquids (ILs) with a short alkyl chain (N,N,N-trimethyl-N-propylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide (TMPA TFSA)) and long alkyl chains ((N,N,N-trimethyl-N-octylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide (TMOA TFSA) and N-decyl-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide (DTMA TFSA)) by a nanosecond laser flash photolysis technique. In each ionic liquid, escaped radical yield of a benzophenone ketyl radical rapidly increased with increasing magnetic field strength (B) of 0 T < B≤ 0.01 T. At 0.01 T < B≤ 0.4 T, the escaped radical yield almost saturated in TMPA TFSA or gradually increased in TMOA TFSA and DTMA TFSA. At much higher fields of 0.4 T < B≤ 30 T, the yield gradually decreased, resulting in 10-15% decrease at 30 T. The observed MFEs can be explained by the hyperfine coupling and Δg mechanisms together with the relaxation mechanism. On the time profiles of the transient absorption observed for the benzophenone ketyl radical, MFEs were generated in the time range of 0 < t < 0.6 μs. The cage lifetimes of TMOA TFSA and DTMA TFSA were estimated to be at least 120 ns.  相似文献

The surface structure of trimethylpropylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([TMPA] [TFSI]) is studied by high-resolution Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy at room temperature. The results provide direct evidence of the molecular ordering at the surface. The C1 conformer of the [TFSI] anion is dominant among two stable conformers, and the anions are oriented with their CF3 groups pointing toward the vacuum in the outermost molecular layer. The anions in the second molecular layer also show preferred orientation although it is rather weak.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have been performed on N-methyl-N-propylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (mppy(+)TFSI(-)) and N,N-dimethyl- pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (mmpy(+)TFSI(+)) ionic liquids (ILs) doped with 0.25 mol fraction LiTFSI salt at 303-500 K. The liquid density, ion self-diffusion coefficients, and conductivity predicted by MD simulations were found to be in good agreement with experimental data, where available. MD simulations reveal that the Li(+) environment is similar in mppy(+)TFSI(-) and mmpy(+)TFSI(+) ILs doped with LiTFSI. The Li(+) cations were found to be coordinated on average by slightly less than four oxygen atoms with each oxygen atom being contributed by a different TFSI(-) anion. Significant lithium aggregation by sharing up to three TFSI(-) anions bridging two lithiums was observed, particularly at lower temperatures where the lithium aggregates were found to be stable for tens of nanoseconds. Polarization of TFSI(-) anions is largely responsible for the formation of such lithium aggregates. Li(+) transport was found to occur primarily by exchange of TFSI(-) anions in the first coordination shell with a smaller (approximately 30%) contribution also due to Li(+) cations diffusing together with their first coordination shell. In both ILs, ion self-diffusion coefficients followed the order Li(+) < TFSI(-) < mmpy(+) or mppy(+) with all ion diffusion in mmpy(+)TFSI(-) being systematically slower than that in mppy(+)TFSI(-). Conductivity due to the Li(+) cation in LiTFSI doped mppy(+)TFSI(-) IL was found to be greater than that for a model poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)/LiTFSI polymer electrolyte but significantly lower than that for an ethylene carbonate/LiTFSI liquid electrolyte. Finally, the time-dependent shear modulus for the LiTFSI doped ILs was found to be similar to that for a model poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)/LiTFSI polymer electrolyte on the subnanosecond time scale.  相似文献

In this study, we address the fundamental question of the physicochemical and electrochemical properties of phosphonium-based ionic liquids containing the counter-ions bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([TFSI]) and bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide ([FSI]). To clarify these structure–property as well as structure–activity relationships, trimethyl-based alkyl- and ether-containing phosphonium ILs were systematically synthesized, and their properties, namely density, flow characteristics, alkali metal compatibility, oxidative stability, aluminum corrosivity as well as their use in Li-ion cells were examined comprehensively. The variable moiety on the phosphonium cation exhibited a chain length of four and five, respectively. The properties were discussed as a function of the side chain, counter-ion and salt addition ([Li][TFSI] or [Li][FSI]). High stability coupled with good flow characteristics were found for the phosphonium IL [P1114][TFSI] and the mixture [P1114][TFSI] + [Li][TFSI], respectively.  相似文献

Two ionic liquids based upon N-alkyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium cations (PY(1R)(+)) (R=3 for propyl or 4 for butyl) and the bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI(-)), N(SO2F)2(-), anion have been extensively characterized. The ionic conductivity and viscosity of these materials are found to be among the highest and lowest, respectively, reported for aprotic ionic liquids. Both ionic liquids crystallize readily on cooling and undergo several solid-solid phase transitions on heating prior to melting. PY13FSI and PY14FSI are found to melt at -9 and -18 degrees C, respectively. The thermal stability of PY13FSI and PY14FSI is notably lower than for the analogous salts with the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI(-)), N(SO2CF3)2(-), anion. Both ionic liquids have a relatively wide electrochemical stability window of approximately 5 V.  相似文献

The solvation structure of the lithium ion in room-temperature ionic liquids 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (EMI(+)TFSI(-)) and N-butyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (BMP(+0TFSI(-)) has been studied by Raman spectroscopy and DFT calculations. Raman spectra of EMI(+)TFSI(-) and BMP(+)TFSI(-) containing Li(+)TFSI(-) over the range 0.144-0.589 and 0.076-0.633 mol dm(-3), respectively, were measured at 298 K. A strong 744 cm-1 band of the free TFSI(-) ion in the bulk weakens with increasing concentration of the lithium ion, and it revealed by analyzing the intensity decrease that the two TFSI(-) ions bind to the metal ion. The lithium ion may be four-coordinated through the O atoms of two bidentate TFSI(-) ions. It has been established in our previous work that the TFSI(-) ion involves two conformers of C(1) (cis) and C(2) (trans) symmetries in equilibrium, and the dipole moment of the C(1) conformer is significantly larger than that of the C(2) conformer. On the basis of these facts, the geometries and SCF energies of possible solvate ion clusters [Li(C(1)-TFSI(-))(2)](-), [Li(C(1)-TFSI(-))(C(2)-TFSI(-))](-), and [Li(C(2)-TFSI(-))(2)](-) were examined using the theoretical DFT calculations. It is concluded that the C(1) conformer is more preferred to the C(2) conformer in the vicinity of the lithium ion.  相似文献

A preliminary Raman investigation of the ionic liquid N-methyl-N-propylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PYR(13)TFSI) and its 2/1 complex with the lithium salt LiN(SO(2)CF(3))(2) is reported. The study was performed over a temperature range extending from -100 to +60 degrees C, i.e., with PYR(13)TFSI in the crystalline and melt states. For comparison purposes, the study was extended to PYR(13)I, which is the precursor used in the synthesis of PYR(13)TFSI.

The magnetic field effects (MFEs), caused by the Delta g mechanism, on the photoinduced hydrogen abstraction reaction of benzopheneone with thiophenol were investigated in alcoholic solutions of varying viscosities (eta = 0.55 to 59.2 cP) by a nanosecond laser flash photolysis technique. The escape yield of benzophenone ketyl radicals ( Y) gradually decreased with increasing magnetic field strength ( B) from 0 to 1.6 T. The relative yield observed at 1.6 T, R(1.6 T) = Y(1.6 T)/ Y(0 T), decreased with increasing eta in the range of 0.55 cP < or = eta < or = 5 cP, and then increased with increasing eta in the range of 5 cP < eta < or = 55.3 cP. When eta was higher than 55.3 cP, the R(1.6 T) value became 1.0, and MFEs were completely quenched. The observed eta dependence of the MFEs was analyzed by the stochastic Liouville equation (SLE), in which the effects of spin-orbit coupling by a heavy atom such as sulfur were taken into account. The observed MFEs were reproduced fairly well by the SLE analysis. The diffusion coefficients of the radicals obtained by the SLE were about three times smaller than those expected from the macroscopic solvent viscosities. One can probe the microviscosity in the vicinity of the radical pairs by observing MFEs on the present photochemical reaction system.  相似文献

A combined experimental and molecular dynamics study has been performed on the following pyridinium-based ionic liquids: 1-n-hexyl-3-methylpyridinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([hmpy][Tf(2)N]), 1-n-octyl-3-methylpyridinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([ompy][Tf(2)N]), and 1-n-hexyl-3,5-dimethylpyridinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([hdmpy][Tf(2)N]). Pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to determine the self-diffusivities of the individual cations and anions as a function of temperature. Experimental self-diffusivities range from 10(-11) to 10(-10) m(2)/s. Activation energies for diffusion are 44-49 kJ/mol. A classical force field was developed for these compounds, and molecular dynamics simulations were performed to compute dynamic as well as thermodynamic properties. Evidence of glassy dynamics was found, preventing accurate determination of self-diffusivities over molecular dynamics time scales. Volumetric properties such as density, isothermal compressibility, and volumetric expansivity agree well with experiment. Simulated heat capacities are within 2% of experimental values.  相似文献

The density and sound velocity of the solutions of ionic liquids based on N-alkyl-N-methyl-morpholinium cations, N-ethyl-N-methylmorpholinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, N-butyl-N-methylmorpholinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, N-methyl-N-octyl-morpholinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and N-decyl-N-methylmorpholinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide in dimethylsulfoxide were measured at T = (298.15 to 318.15) K and at atmospheric pressure. The apparent molar volume and apparent molar compressibility values were evaluated from density and sound velocity values and fitted to the Masson equation from which the partial molar volume and partial molar isentropic compressibility of the ILs at infinite dilution were also calculated at working temperatures. By using the density values, the limiting apparent molar expansibilities were estimated. The effect of the alkyl chain length of the ILs and experimental temperature on these thermodynamic properties is discussed. In addition, molecular dynamics simulations were used to interpret the measured properties in terms of interactions of ILs with solvent molecules. Both, volumetric measurements results and molecular dynamics simulations for ionic liquids in dimethylsulfoxide were compared and discussed with results obtained for the same IL in acetonitrile.  相似文献

In this paper is reported an extensive NMR characterization of N-methyl-N-propyl-pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PYR13TFSI) room-temperature ionic liquid and its mixtures with LiTFSI. NMR was used to investigate the interactions between the ionic liquid and lithium salt and the diffusion coefficients of all ionic species present in these mixtures. The results are compared with previous DSC, Raman, and electrochemical investigations.  相似文献

The lithium solvation in (1 -x)(EMI-TFSI), xLiTFSI ionic liquids where EMI(+) is the 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation and TFSI(-) the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion, is shown by Raman spectroscopy to involve essentially [Li(TFSI)(2)](-) anionic clusters for 0 < x < 0.4, but addition of stoichiometric amounts of solvents S such as oligoethers changes the lithium solvation into [Li(S)(m)](+) cationic clusters; the lithium transference number in TFSI-based ionic liquid electrolytes for lithium batteries should thus be strongly improved.  相似文献

The spectra and kinetic behavior of solvated electrons (esol) in alkyl ammonium ionic liquids (ILs), i.e. N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl)ammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (DEMMA-TFSI), N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl)ammonium tetrafluoroborate (DEMMA-BF4), N,N,N-trimethyl-N-propylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TMPA-TFSI), N-methyl-N-propylpiperidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PP13-TFSI), N-methyl-N-propylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (P13-TFSI), and N-methyl-N-butylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (P14-TFSI) were investigated by the pulse radiolysis method. The esol in each of the ammonium ILs has an absorption peak at 1100 nm, with molar absorption coefficients of 1.5–2.3×104 dm3 mol−1 cm−1. The esol decayed by first order with a rate constant of 1.4–6.4×106 s−1. The reaction rate constant of the solvated electron with pyrene (Py) was 1.5–3.5×108 dm3 mol−1 s−1 in the various ILs. These values were about one order of magnitude higher than the diffusion-controlled limits calculated from measured viscosities. The radiolytic yields (G-value) of the esol were 0.8–1.7×10−7 mol J−1. The formation rate constant of esol in DEMMA-TFSI was 3.9×1010 s−1. The dry electron (edry) in DEMMA-TFSI reacts with Py with a rate constant of 7.9×1011 dm3 mol−1 s−1, three orders of magnitude higher than that of the esol reactions. The G-value of the esol in the picosecond time region is 1.2×10−7 mol J−1. The capture of edry by scavengers was found to be very fast in ILs.  相似文献

Five room temperature ionic liquids based on C-2 substituted imidazolium cations and bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI) anions were synthesized and their physicochemical properties: thermal property, density, viscosity, ionic conductivity, self-diffusion coefficients, and electrochemical stability, were systematically investigated. The temperature dependence of both viscosity and ionic conductivities of these ionic liquids can be described by the Vogel-Fulcher-Tamman (VFT) equation. Compared with the reference, 1-propyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, the introduction of functional groups at the C-2 position generally increased the viscosity and lowered the ionic conductivity. The introduction of an ether group (-CH(2)OCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)CH(3)) at the C-2 position not only enhanced the reduction stability of the ionic liquids but also exhibited the lowest solid electrolyte interfacial resistance (R(SEI)). In contrast, the introduction of a cyano group (-CN) at the C-2 position not only decreased the reduction stability but also adversely increased the SEI resistance. The effect of the C-2 substitution on the reduction stability was explained by the change in the energy level of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital. The self-diffusion coefficients (D) of each ion were measured by pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance (PFG-NMR). The lithium transference number (t(Li)) of 0.5 M LiTFSI/IL solutions calculated from the self-diffusion coefficients was in the range of 0.04 to 0.09.  相似文献

The object of this study was to measure the liquid–liquid equilibria (LLE) data of binary mixtures containing ionic liquids and citrus essential oil. We investigated linalool as the citrus essential oil, and 1-alkyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C n MIM]+[TFSI]?) as the ionic liquid. Firstly, the experimental apparatus and procedure for the LLE measurement of mixtures containing ionic liquids were verified by measuring the LLE of the binary mixture 1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C6MIM]+[TFSI]?) + 1-hexanol as a reference test system recommended by Marsh et al. (Pure Appl Chem 81:781–789, 2009). Next, the LLE data for IL + linalool were obtained, and the LLE data of two binary mixtures 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C4MIM]+[TFSI]?) or [C6MIM]+[TFSI]? + linalool were determined. The experimental LLE data were satisfactorily represented by the non-random two-liquid model.  相似文献

Room-temperature ionic liquids (RTIL, IL) are stable liquids composed of anions and cations. N-methyl-N-propyl-pyrrolidinium (P(13), Py(13), PYR(13), or mppy) is an important cation and produces stable ILs with various anions. In this study two amide-type anions, bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide [N(SO(2)CF(3))(2), TFSA, TFSI, NTf(2), or Tf(2)N] and bis(fluorosulfonyl)amide [N(SO(2)F)(2), FSA, or FSI], were investigated. In addition to P(13)-TFSA and P(13)-FSA, lithium salt doped samples were prepared (P(13)-TFSA-Li and P(13)-FSA-Li). The individual ion diffusion coefficients (D) and spin-lattice relaxation times (T(1)) were measured by (1)H, (19)F, and (7)Li NMR. At the same time, the ionic conductivity (σ), viscosity (η), and density (ρ) were measured over a wide temperature range. The van der Waals volumes of P(13), TFSA, FSA, Li(TFSA)(2), and Li(FSA)(3) were estimated by molecular orbital calculations. The experimental values obtained in this study were analyzed by the classical Stokes-Einstein, Nernst-Einstein (NE), and Stokes-Einstein-Debye equations and Walden plots were also made for the neat and binary ILs to clarify physical and mobile properties of individual ions. From the temperature-dependent velocity correlation coefficients for neat P(13)-TFSA and P(13)-FSA, the NE parameter 1-ξ was evaluated. The ionicity (electrochemical molar conductivity divided by the NE conductivity from NMR) and the 1-ξ had exactly the same values. The rotational and translational motions of P(13) and jump of a lithium ion are also discussed.  相似文献

Solvation of iodide and electrons in an ionic liquid (N,N,N-trimethyl-n-propylammonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide; TMPA-TFSI) was studied through the absorption spectra of the charge-transfer-to-solvent (CTTS) state of iodide and of solvated electrons. The interaction between the TMPA cation and iodide was strong, whereas electrons were weakly solvated in TMPA-TFSI. We followed electron photodetachment from iodide to the ionic liquid and formation of the solvated electrons by observing absorption in the visible and near-infrared regions using a nanosecond laser flash photolysis method. The quantum yield of the photodetachment in TMPA-TFSI was estimated to be 0.34, which is much higher than that in a high-concentration aqueous salt solution previously reported. We also examined a reaction of the solvated electrons with the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Bmim-TFSI) as a solute in TMPA-TFSI. The reaction rate was determined to be 5.3 x 10(8) M(-1) s(-1). The electrons before full solvation (dry electrons) reacted with Bmim cations efficiently. These observations suggest that the electrons in TMPA-TFSI can move easily before solvation.  相似文献

The influence of the Zn(2+) concentration and temperature on the electrochemical reduction of O(2) in a solution of zinc bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Zn(TFSI)(2)) salt in 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PYR(14)TFSI) ionic liquid is presented. ZnO nanocrystalline films were then electrodeposited, under enhanced O(2) reduction, at temperatures in the 75-150 °C range. Their morphology, chemical composition, structural and optical properties were analyzed. In contrast to the polar-oriented ZnO usually obtained from aqueous and conventional solvent based electrolytes, nanocrystalline films oriented along non-polar directions, (11 ?10) and (11 ?20), were obtained from this ionic liquid electrolyte. A significant content of carbon was detected in the films, pointing to the active participation and crucial effect of pyrrolidinium cation (and/or byproducts) during the electrodeposition. The films showed semiconducting behavior with an optical gap between 3.43 and 3.53 eV as measured by optical transmittance. Their room temperature photoluminescence spectra exhibited two different bands centered at ~3.4 and ~2.2 eV. The intensity ratio between both bands was found to depend on the deposition temperature. This work demonstrates the great potential of ionic liquids based electrolytes for the electrodeposition of ZnO nanocrystalline thin films with innovative microstructural and optoelectronic properties.  相似文献
