Macroscopic derivation of the entrainment of matter induced by a surface elastic wave propagating along the flexible vacuum–matter interface is conducted by considering the nonlinear coupling between the interface and the rarefaction effect. The critical reflux values associated with the product of the second-order (unit) body forcing and the Reynolds number (representing the viscous dissipations) decrease as the Knudsen number (representing the rarefaction measure) increases from zero to 0.1. We obtained the matter-freezed or zero-volume-flow-rate states for specific Reynolds numbers and wave numbers which might be linked to the evolution of the Universe.  相似文献

We introduce a kinetic interface model suitable for simulating adsorption-reaction processes which take place preferentially at surface defects such as steps and vacancies. As the average interface velocity is taken to zero, the self-affine interface with Kardar-Parisi-Zhang-like scaling behavior undergoes a delocalization transition with critical exponents that fall into a different universality class. As the critical point is approached, the interface becomes a multivalued, multiply connected self-similar fractal set. The scaling behavior and critical exponents of the relevant correlation functions are determined from Monte Carlo simulations and scaling arguments.  相似文献

The waves propagating in the direction of a density gradient in a dusty plasma are analyzed. The analysis includes the recently predicted electrostatic dust Rossby mode that can develop in a rotating dusty plasma with charged grains, as well as waves in magnetized plasmas, and dust acoustic waves. The spatial behavior of the mode amplitude is determined for a few realistic plasma density profiles.  相似文献

The method of Parrinello and Rahman is generalized to include slip in addition to deformation of the simulation cell. Equations of motion are derived, and a microscopic expression for traction is introduced. Lagrangian constraints are imposed so that the combination of deformation and slip conform to the invariant plane shear characteristic of martensites. Simulation of a model transformation demonstrates the nucleation and propagation of a glissile dislocation interface.  相似文献

An analysis is given of the behavior of an interface between two phases in the presence of an external pinning potential in the solid-on-solid limit of the two-dimensional Ising model. It is found that the potential turns a rough interface into a smooth one, except in the case of a boundary potential, where a minimum potential strength is required. The connection with the roughening transition found by Abraham is discussed. The interface width is calculated as a function of the potential parameters in the limit of a weak pining potential.  相似文献

This investigation examines the adiabatic motion of a charged particle near the equilibrium state in a field of a plane, circularly polarized, electromagnetic wave which is propagating with a changing velocity phase along the magnetic field. Approximate equations are found which describe the behavior of the equilibrium state parameters when the wave leaves the medium and enters a vacuum. It is shown that compared to the equilibrium value in this situation under the adiabatic approximation there is a decrease in amplitude of the particle energy fluctuation; this establishes the possibility of a prolonged acceleration of the particle to high energies. Acoustic impulses due to an electrical spark source (main acoustic energy near 15 kHz) have been measured after propagating near to the water surface in a shallow container resting on a vibrating platform. Control of the platform vibration enabled control of water wave amplitudes. Analysis of the results reveals systematic variations in the received acoustic waveforms as the mean trough-to-crest water wave amplitude is increased up to 7 mm. The amplitudes of the peaks corresponding to specular reflections are reduced and the variability in the tails of the waveforms is increased.  相似文献

The thickness-roughness phase diagram of a thin ferromagnetic film on an antiferromagnetic substrate is studied in the case where the roughness of the interface between the layers causes frustration of the exchange interaction between them. It is shown that the inclusion of single-ion anisotropy makes the phase diagram significantly more complicated in comparison with that calculated within the exchange approximation. The evolution of a new type of domain walls caused by frustrations is traced with an increase in the film thickness and the width of the atomic steps on the film-substrate interface.  相似文献

Dispersion relation is obtained for a nonlinear unpolarized surface wave propagating along a boundary between vacuum and a magnetoactive plasma in a geometry when a dc-magnetic field is parallel to both the boundary and the propagation of the surface wave. Under harsh in situ conditions, the interface in piezoelectric sensors may be damaged mechanically and/or electrically. The damaged interface would in turn affect the electromechanical behaviors of the sensors. The purpose of the present work is to study the effect of the imperfect interface on SH wave propagating in a cylindrical piezoelectric sensor. The dispersion relations of SH wave are derived analytically and the phase velocity are obtained numerically. Parametric studies on the phase velocity indicate that the mechanical imperfection may reduce the phase velocity under certain circumstances; however, the electrical imperfection has no obvious effect on the phase velocity in any cases; with the thickness of the piezoelectric layer increasing, the phase velocity may increase, decrease or keep unchanged, depending on the combination of the values of the wave number and the mechanical imperfection parameter.  相似文献
