The general solution of the Dirac equation for quasi-two-dimensional electrons confined in an asymmetric quantum well, is found. The energy spectrum of such a system is exactly calculated using special unitary operator and is shown to depend on the electron spin polarization. This solution contains free parameters, whose variation continuously transforms one known particular solution into another. As an example, two different cases are considered in detail: electron in a deep and in a strongly asymmetric shallow quantum well. The effective mass renormalized by relativistic corrections and Bychkov–Rashba coefficients are analytically obtained for both cases. It is demonstrated that the general solution transforms to the particular solutions, found previously (Eremko et al., 2015) with the use of spin invariants. The general solution allows to establish conditions at which a specific (accompanied or non-accompanied by Rashba splitting) spin state can be realized. These results can prompt the ways to control the spin degree of freedom via the synthesis of spintronic heterostructures with the required properties.  相似文献

A Master equation for the density matrix and a Boltzmann equation for the occupation number of electrons in a crystal are derived. The wave function of an electron is localized within a sub crystal by a superposition of the corresponding Wannier functions. The electrons are coupled to an external electrical field, to phonons, and to a particle reservoir, describing phenomena as transport, damping, and electron sources on the surface of contact.  相似文献

Bulk inelastic mean free paths, λ, of electrons in jellium are given in graphical form as a function of the electron spacing parameter rs and the electron energy E, based on self-energy results of Lundqvist. The neutron transport equation for a slab geometry with the extremely anisotropic scattering kernel is considered. The albedo and transmission factors are calculated using the variation method. The effect of the extremely anisotropic parameter on the variation of the slab albedo and transmission factor is calculated. The obtained results are compared with the published data.  相似文献

We consider a slab waveguide made of a material with negative permeability and negative permittivity, the surrounding medium is conventional. By using the dispersion relation, we show the dispersion curves from the variation of the core width and other physical parameters. The associated energy flow for several thicknesses of the nonlinear layer waveguide is presented. We discuss possible new types of modes that can occur. It is found that the dispersion curves and the energy flow can be controlled by varying the thickness of the guide, the filling factor and the effective plasma frequency. A numerical simulation is done to well illustrate.  相似文献

We evaluate the effective interactions in a fluid of electrons moving in a plane, on the approach to the quantum phase transition from the paramagnetic to the fully spin-polarized phase that has been reported from Quantum Monte Carlo runs. We use the approach of Kukkonen and Overhauser to treat exchange and correlations under close constraints imposed by sum rules. We show that, as the paramagnetic fluid approaches the phase transition, the effective interactions at low momenta develop an attractive region between parallel-spin electrons and a corresponding repulsive region for antiparallel-spin electron pairs. A connection with the Hubbard model is made and used to estimate the magnetic energy gap and hence the temperature at which the phase transition may become observable with varying electron density in a semiconductor quantum well.  相似文献

We study the stationary solution of the Boltzmann equation in a slab with a constant external force parallel to the boundary and complete accommodation condition on the walls at a specified temperature. We prove that when the force is sufficiently small there exists a solution which converges, in the hydrodynamic limit, to a local Maxwellian with parameters given by the stationary solution of the corresponding compressible Navier-Stokes equations with no-slip boundary conditions. Corrections to this Maxwellian are obtained in powers of the Knudsen number with a controlled remainder.  相似文献

The equation for the Brueckner G matrix is investigated for planar-slab geometry. A method for calculating the G matrix for a planar slab of nuclear matter is developed for a separable form of NN interaction. Actually, the separable version of the Paris NN potential is used. The singlet 1 S 0 and the triplet 3 S 13 D 1 channel are considered. The present analysis relies on the mixed momentum-coordinate representation, where use is made of the momentum representation in the slab plane and of the coordinate representation in the orthogonal direction. The full two-particle Hilbert space is broken down into the model subspace, where the two-particle propagator is considered exactly, and the complementary subspace, where the local-potential approximation is used, which was proposed previously for calculating the effective pairing potential. Specific calculations are performed for the case where the model subspace is constructed on the basis of negative-energy single-particle states. The G matrix is parametrically dependent on the total two-particle energy E and the total momentum P in the slab plane. Since the G matrix is assumed to be further used to calculate the Landau-Migdal amplitude, the total two-particle energy is fixed at the value E=2μ, where μ is the chemical potential of the system under investigation. The calculations are performed predominantly for P =0. The role of nonzero values of P is assessed. The resulting G matrix is found to depend greatly on μ in the surface region.  相似文献

Integral equations that govern the radiative source function in a slab are investigated. Closed-form, approximate solutions, which were obtained by using an exponential kernel approximation, are presented. The resulting simple algebraic expressions predict, to within 10%, the exact solution over a wide range of optical parameters. They also provide the advantage of calculating with ease the radiative field within the medium.  相似文献

An exact solution of Maxwell's equations is found for TM-polarized nonlinear guided waves which are guided by a linear dielectric slab embedded between two nonlinear uniaxial media. Additional waves in comparison with the linear case arise. Some of these waves have no counterpart in linear systems. We consider dispersion relations and field structure of TE-polarized guided waves travelling along an asymmetric dielectric slab surrounded by two different nonlinear media. For a given configuration there are four types of guided waves. Three of this four types possess at least one field maximum outside the slab region and have no counterpart in linear waveguide optics. The solutions of the dispersion relations depend now on an additional parameter making them more flexible with respect to the linear limit.  相似文献

This article covers the analytical solution of the discretized radiative transfer equation in the matrix form. The equation is discretized according to the discrete ordinates method. The solution is based on the representation of the light field in a scattering medium as a superposition of an anisotropic and a smooth regular parts. The first of them is calculated analytically using the smoothness of the solution angular spectrum. The regular part is obtained from a radiative transfer equation boundary problem with the anisotropic part as a source function by discrete ordinates method with a scaling transformation and a matrix-operator method applied. There is no limitation of the scattering law in a medium.  相似文献

We present a nonperturbative expression for the scattering matrix of N particles interacting inside a quantum dot. Characterizing the dot by its resonances, we find a compact form for the scattering matrix in a real-time representation. We study the transmission probabilities and interaction-induced orbital entanglement of two electrons incident on the dot in a spin-singlet state.  相似文献

Dirac equation for electrons in a potential created by quantum well is solved and the three sets of the eigen-functions are obtained. In each set the wavefunction is at the same time the eigen-function of one of the three spin operators, which do not commute with each other, but do commute with the Dirac Hamiltonian. This means that the eigen-functions of Dirac equation describe three independent spin eigen-states. The energy spectrum of electrons confined by the rectangular quantum well is calculated for each of these spin states at the values of energies relevant for solid state physics. It is shown that the standard Rashba spin splitting takes place in one of such states only. In another one, 2D electron subbands remain spin degenerate, and for the third one the spin splitting is anisotropic for different directions of 2D wave vector.  相似文献

A new nonlinear three-wave equation of the sixth order for pressure in a polydisperse gas-liquid mixture with bubbles of two sizes is obtained, and its stationary solutions are analyzed. The equation includes two nonlinear quadratic terms of different derivative orders. These terms are of fundamental importance for obtaining good correspondence between the solutions to this equation and the experimentally observed solitary waves in the form of two coupled solitons.  相似文献

采用了一个简单而有效的技巧, 研究了一类扰动发展方程. 首先引入求解一个相应典型方程的行波孤波解. 然后利用渐近方法得到了原扰动发展方程的近似解. 利用泛函分析的不动点定理, 指出了近似解级数的收敛性, 并讨论了近似解的精度.  相似文献
