Δ-spaces     
We introduce the notion of a Δ-space and argue that a complete subcategory of the categoryTOP 0of all topological T0-spaces, defined by Δ-spaces, is a subdirectly closed subcategory ofTOP 0that contains many of the known denotational semantic categories of topological spaces as subdirectly closed subcategories. As a consequence, the affirmative answer is given to Scott’s question which inquires whether the category of bifinite domains is a complete subdirectly closed subcategory ofEQU. Summary In this note we observe that for independent symmetric random variables X and Y, when the pdf of X is PF, the conditional distributions of ¦Y¦ given S = X + Y form a MLR family. We then show that for a function : R nR that is symmetric in each coordinate and increasing on (0, )n, E((S1,...,Sn)¦Sn = s) is even and increasing in ¦s¦. Here S1,...,Sn are partial sums with independent symmetric PF summands. We study the solvability of the divergence equation in weighted spaces and Lebesgue spaces with variable exponents, where the weights are so called Muckenhoupt weights. The question of constructing divergence free test functions, which can be used for problems arising in fluid dynamics, is also addressed. The approach is based on an explicit representation formula for solutions of the divergence equation due to Bogovski? and the theory of singular integral operators. The developed methods are used to prove an existence result for fluids which satisfy a p(·)-growth condition.  相似文献

Summary We prove some integral representation theorems for the Γ limit in L1 of sequences of the form dx in coercivity and bounded growth hypothesis which are optimal as it is checked with examples. These results are utilized to describe the L1 lower semicontinuous envelope of a given functional. We consider also the stability of Γ limits with respect to obstacle type perturbations and prove the homogenization formulas in conditions more generals of those already considered by several authors. In the paper, the authors present some properties, including convexity, complete monotonicity, product inequalities, and determinantal inequalities, of the large Schröder numbers and find three relations between the Schröder numbers and central Delannoy numbers. Moreover, the authors sketch generalizing the Schröder numbers and central Delannoy numbers and their generating functions.  相似文献

We investigate the properties of an integral operator T with a Cauchy kernel. The operator acts from L (Γ, μ), where Γ is a Van Koch curve, to the space of functions ? → ?. We prove that the range of T is nontrivial and lies in the space AC(Γ) of functions continuous in ?, vanishing at ∞, and analytic outside Γ. We also show that T is injective and compact while satisfying some special functional equation. These results may be regarded as a natural continuation of our research on the problem of AC-removability of quasiconformal curves whose solution was announced in [1] for the first time and supplemented later with some other properties of Van Koch’s curves [2, 3]. In this paper the problem is discussed in a more general setting and, in particular, all important details lacking in [1] are given. Some open problems are formulated.  相似文献

We constructed a kind of continuous multivariate spline operators as the approximation tools of the multivariate functions on the (?d instead of the usual multivariate cardinal interpolation operators of splines, and obtained the approximation error by this kind of spline operators. Meantime, by the results, we also obtained that the spaces of multivariate polynomial splines are weakly asyrnptotically optimal for the Kolrnogorov widths and the linear widths of some anisotropic Sobolev classes of smooth functions on (?d in the metric Lp((?d).  相似文献

Summary A new class of locally convex linear topological spaces, the (db)-spaees, recently defined by Robertson, Tweddle and Yeomans, interpolates the classes of Baire-like and unordered Baire-like spaces. Saxon and Narayanaswami have given convex metrizable spaces that distinguish among these classes. This paper gives a new characterization of (db)-spaces from which is extracted the class of b-spaces. This class interpolates the classes of -spaces and -spaces of Lehner. Let C(X) be the space of all real-valued continuous functions on the completely regular Sausdorf space X, supplied with the topology of uniform convergence on compact sets of X. It is shown that C(X) is a b-space if and only if it is an -space. A characterization of X for which C(X) is a (db)-space is unknown. Other open questions are stated in the paper.  相似文献
