The effect of the random magnetic field distribution on the phase diagrams and ground state magnetizations of Ising nanowire is investigated using effective field theory with correlations. Trimodal distribution has been chosen as a random magnetic field distribution. The variation of the phase diagrams with that distribution parameters has been obtained and some interesting results have been found such as reentrant behavior and first order transitions. Also for the trimodal distribution, ground state magnetizations for different distribution parameters have been determined which can be regarded as separate partially ordered phases of the system.  相似文献

The effect of a zero-centered Gaussian random magnetic field distribution on the phase transition properties of the anisotropic quantum Heisenberg model has been investigated on a honeycomb lattice within the framework of effective field theory (EFT) for a two-spin cluster (which is abbreviated as EFT-2). Particular attention has been devoted to investigation of the effect of the anisotropy in the exchange interaction on a system with Gaussian random magnetic field distribution. The variation of the critical temperature with the randomness parameter (i.e., the width of the distribution) has been obtained for several anisotropy parameters. Critical Gaussian distribution width values, which make the critical temperature zero, have been obtained. Moreover, it has been concluded that all critical temperatures are of second order, and that reentrant behavior does not exist in the phase diagrams.  相似文献

In this paper we study the critical behavior of the two-dimensional antiferromagnetic Ising model in both uniform longitudinal (HH) and transverse (ΩΩ) magnetic fields. Using the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlation in single site clusters we calculate the phase diagrams in the H−THT and Ω−TΩT planes for the square lattice. We have only found second order phase transitions for all values of fields and reentrant behavior was not observed.  相似文献

We use a method developed by van Hemmen to obtain the free energy of the mean-field Ising model in a random external magnetic field. Some results of previous mean-field calculations are confirmed and generalized. The tricritical point in the global phase diagram is discussed in detail. We also consider different probability distributions of the random fields and provide some proofs regarding the conditions for the existence of a tricritical point.  相似文献

The fluctuations of the order parameter in the Curie-Weiss version of the Ising model with random magnetic field are computed. Away from criticality or at first-order critical points they have a Gaussian distribution with random (i. e.,sample-dependent) mean, thermal fluctuations contributing in same order as the fluctuations of the field; at second- or higher-order critical points, non-Gaussian sample-dependent distributions appear, and the fluctuations of the fields are enhanced, dominating over the thermal ones.  相似文献

An Ising effective field theory model is presented to calculate the magnetic properties of 2D nano-islands on a nonmagnetic substrate, subject to an externally out-of-plane applied magnetic field. The system Hamiltonian contains nearest neighbor exchange interactions, single-atom magnetic anisotropies, and the Zeeman term. The calculations yield, in particular, the single site spin correlations, the magnetizations, and the isothermal susceptibilities, for the core and periphery domains of the nano-island. The choice of a spin S=1 for the atoms of the system permits the analysis of local spin fluctuations via the single site spin correlations. We investigate in this respect the effects due to the different magnetocrystalline anisotropies and reduced dimensionalities, for the core and periphery domains, and in particular the critical influence of the applied magnetic field. Detailed theoretical results are presented for the square and hexagonal lattice symmetries, with numerical applications for the 2D monolayer Co nano-islands on a Pt substrate. It is shown that the remarkable differences between the magnetic properties of the core and periphery domains in zero field are washed out when an out-of-plane field is applied. The applied field also provokes critical discontinuities for the spin correlations and magnetization reversals, for the core and periphery domains, which are especially evident for the hexagonal lattice nano-island in the range of fields of interest. The discontinuities and magnetization reversals occur over elementary temperature widths, and shift to lower temperatures with increasing field. The field-dependant isothermal susceptibilities show new features very different from those for the susceptibilities in zero field. The present Ising model does not show any blocking temperature transition to superparamagnetism.  相似文献

In this letter, we study the behavior of the random field Ising model on a honeycomb lattice by means of the effective field theory. We obtain the phase diagram in the TT–HH plane for clusters with one spin in a finite size cluster scheme and it is observed the absence of a tricritical point.  相似文献

The dynamic phase transitions in a cylindrical Ising nanowire system under a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions are investigated within the effective-field theory with correlations and the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics approach. The effective-field dynamic equations for the average longitudinal magnetizations on the surface shell and core are derived by employing the Glauber transition rates. Temperature dependence of the dynamic magnetizations, the dynamic total magnetization, the hysteresis loop areas and the dynamic correlations are investigated in order to characterize the nature (first- or second-order) of the dynamic transitions as well as the dynamic phase transition temperatures and the compensation behaviors. The system strongly affected by the surface situations. Some characteristic phenomena are found depending on the ratio of the physical parameters in the surface shell and the core. According to the values of Hamiltonian parameters, five different types of compensation behaviors in the Néel classification nomenclature exist in the system. The system also exhibits a reentrant behavior.  相似文献

Since the introduction of the Ising model on the square lattice, many hundreds of articles have dealt with several properties of the ferromagnetic Ising model, but very few articles had included the antiferromagnetic Ising model. We have known that the Ising antiferromagnetism on a bipartite lattice is not zero in a considerable area of the magnetic field, H, and temperature, T. Now we present the dimensionless specific heat, C, and susceptibility, χ, per vertex using a new method to obtain the data in about 10,000 points in the interesting (T,H) area. Our last four figures show the contours and the smooth hills and valleys of C and of χ.  相似文献

We apply the Wang-Landau method to the study of the critical behavior of the three-dimensional random field Ising model with a bimodal probability distribution. For high values of the random field intensity we find that the energy probability distribution at the transition temperature is double peaked, suggesting that the phase transition is of first order. On the other hand, the transition looks continuous for low values of the field intensity. In spite of the large sample to sample fluctuations observed, the double peak in the probability distribution is always present for high fields.  相似文献

在有效场理论和切断近似框架内,选择自旋S=1的二维方格子,研究横向随机晶场Ising模型的相图和磁化行为,重点是横向随机晶场浓度和晶场比率对相图和磁化的影响.给出了i>T-Dx空间的相图和m-T空间的磁化图.在晶场稀疏情况下,负晶场方向存在临界温度的峰值,正方向可出现重入现象.晶场比率取+0.5和-0.5时,磁有序相范围缩小,特别是晶场比率取-0.5时,随晶场浓度的降低,临界温度峰值从横向晶场负方向渡越到正方向.固定某一负晶场值,不同晶场比率的磁化行为有明显差异.同时与纵向稀疏晶场Ising模型结果进行有意义的比较. 关键词: 横向随机晶场Ising模型 相图 磁化行为  相似文献

By means of the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlations, the thermodynamic and magnetic quantities (such as magnetization, susceptibility, internal energy, specific heat, free energy, hysteresis curves, and compensation behaviors) of the spin-l/2 hexagonal Ising nanowire (HIN) system with core/shell structure have been presented. The hysteresis curves are obtained for different values of the system parameters, in both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic cases. It has been shown that the system only undergoes a second-order phase transition. Moreover, from the thermal variations of the total magnetization, the five compensation types can be found under certain conditions, namely the Q-, R-, S-, P-, and N-types.  相似文献

The dynamical responses of Ising metamagnet (layered antiferromagnet) in the presence of a sinusoidally oscillating magnetic field are studied by Monte Carlo simulation. The time average staggered magnetisation plays the role of dynamic order parameter. A dynamical phase transition was observed and a phase diagram was plotted in the plane formed by field amplitude and temperature. The dynamical phase boundary is observed to shrink inward as the relative antiferromagnetic strength decreases. The results are compared with that obtained from pure ferromagnetic system. The shape of dynamic phase boundary observed to be qualitatively similar to that obtained from previous meanfield calculations.  相似文献

The characteristic function of a block spin in the face of an Ising ferromagnetic half-plane is obtained in closed form. The effects of second-neighbor spin coupling interactions and a magnetic field are investigated on the free energies of a finite-size 1-D Ising model. For both ferromagnetic of nearest neighbor (NN) and next-nearest neighbor (NNN) spin coupling interactions, the finite-size free energy first increases and then approaches a constant value for any size of the spin chain. In contrast, when NNN and NN spin coupling interactions are antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic, respectively, the finite-size free energy gradually decreases by increasing the competition factor and eventually vanishes for large values of it. When a magnetic field is applied, the finite-size free energy decreases with respect to the case of zero magnetic fields for both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic spin coupling interactions. Deviation of free energy per size for finite-size systems relative to the infinite system increases when the spin coupling interactions as well as the f parameter (the ratio of the magnetic field to NN spin coupling interaction) increase.  相似文献

A closed-form expression is obtained for the free energy per site of the Ising model on the triangular lattice in a nonzero magnetic field and with two- and three-site interactions. The solution is valid along a trajectory in the parameter space, and is derived using a method of exact decimation. The ground-state magnetic properties of a two-sublattice Ising metamagnet in a mixed longitudinal and transverse magnetic field are studied within the effective-field theory. A parameter j2=J2/J1 is introduced, which reflects the strength ratio of spin coupling between adjacent planes and in each plane. In addition to the second-order transition lines, the first-order transition lines are also presented, since the ground-state energy can be calculated numerically. The ground-state phase diagrams in hxhz are presented. The results show that when j2<0 the phase transition of the system is always first-order for hx<2.751, and when −1000?j2<0 it is always second-order for hx>4.36. For the given hx (0<hx<14.71), the longitudinal critical magnetic field increases as j2 decreases. The reentrant phenomenon occurs in the range of j2<−11.89, hx>14.71. There is no fourth-order critical point in the phase diagrams given by using EFT as found by using mean field theory (MFT).  相似文献

The Ising model with quenched random magnetic fields is examined for single Gaussian, bimodal and double Gaussian random field distributions by introducing an effective field approximation that takes into account the correlations between different spins that emerge when expanding the identities. Random field distribution shape dependence of the phase diagrams, magnetization and internal energy is investigated for a honeycomb lattice with a coordination number q=3. The conditions for the occurrence of reentrant behavior and tricritical points on the system are also discussed in detail.  相似文献
