The binding properties of three p-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene tetraketone derivatives (tert-butyl 2b, adamantyl 2c and phenyl 2d) in the cone conformation and one derivative (methyl 2a) in a partial cone conformation, towards alkali and alkaline earth metal cations have been established by extraction studies of metal picrates from water into dichloromethane, stability constant measurements in methanol and acetonitrile, and by 1H NMR spectrometry. Transport experiments of metal picrates through a dichloromethane membrane were also performed. The results are compared to those obtained with closely-related calix[n]arene derivatives (n = 4 and 5) and discussed in terms of the substituents, size and conformational effects. Methylketone 2a is a poor binder for all the cations studied, due to its partial cone conformation. Ketones 2b, 2c and 2d show high extraction and complexation levels for the alkali cations, with similar profiles and preference for K+ and Na+ (plateau selectivity). Towards alkaline earth cations, these ketones show a strong peak selectivity for Ba2+ in extraction, but a plateau selectivity for Ca2+, Sr2+ and Ba2+ in complexation. The nature of the substituent attached to the ketone function has some influence on their binding properties, with phenylketone 2d being a slightly weaker binder than ketones 2b and 2c. 1H NMR titrations confirm the formation of 1:1 complexes between the ketones and the cations studied, also indicating that they should be located inside the cavity defined by the phenoxy and carbonyl oxygen atoms. Ketones 2b, 2c and 2d show transport rates that do not follow, in general, the same trends observed in extraction and complexation.  相似文献

Abstract

Experimental and theoretical binding studies of representative alkali, alkaline earth, transition, heavy metal and lanthanide cations by tetra- and di-substituted calix[4]arene amide derivatives (diethyl amide 1ac and morpholide amide 2ac) in the cone conformation were carried out. Binding was assessed by extraction experiments of the metal picrates from water to dichloromethane and proton NMR titrations. Density functional theory calculations were also performed to determine the binding energy of the complexes formed and to analyse the host–guest interaction modes. In the cases of ligands 1b and 2c with Na+ and Ag+ picrates, the extraction energy was also determined using the polarisable continuum model. The results are discussed in terms of the nature of the amide residue and the substitution pattern (1,3 vs. 1,2). Both tetra-amide derivatives are good extractants, showing preference for Na+, Ca2+, Ag+ and Pb2+ cations, mainly di-ethylamide 1a. Concerning di-amide derivatives, the relative position of the substituents seems to be more important than the nature of the amide group in the extraction process. Proton NMR studies indicate the formation of 1:1 complexes between the amides and the cations studied, and DFT data show that all ligands form the most stable complexes with La3+.  相似文献

A novel calix[4]arene derivative with pyrene fluorophores at the upper rim and tetraester ionophores at the lower rim was synthesized in six steps, and its structure was proved by NMR and ESI-MS spectroscopies. Furthermore, the chemosensing behavior of the host compound for alkali and alkaline earth metal ions was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. The obtained results show that the calixarene host can selectively bind sodium ion with the complexation stability constant of 2190 mol−1·L. The complexation with sodium ion can pronouncedly induce the excimer emission to decrease and the monomer emission to increase, whereas the addition of the other alkali and alkaline earth metal ions does not cause appreciable changes in the fluorescence spectrum of the host compound. The present calix[4]arene derivative displays potential application as fluorescent chemosensor for sodium ion. The host–guest complexation reactions between 5,11,17,23‐tetra‐tert‐butyl‐25,27‐diethoxycarbonylmethoxy‐26,28‐dimethoxy calix[4]arene (BDDC4) and alkali and alkaline‐earth metal ions were investigated by facilitated ion transfer processes across water/1,2‐dichloroethane microinterface by using steady‐state cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The obtained facilitated transfers for Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Ca2+ were evaluated under the different experimental conditions, at the excess concentrations of metal ions with respect to BDDC4 and vice versa. The association constants having 1 : 1 stoichiometry for Li+, Na+, K+ and Rb+ in 1,2‐DCE were determined. Also, we demonstrated that BDDC4 can play an important role for the development of highly selective chemical sensor for Ca2+ among alkaline‐metal ions in the concentration range of 0.1–1.0 mM in aqueous solution.  相似文献

A series of novel double-armed calix[4]arene derivatives, i.e. 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl -25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(4-nitroazo)benzylidene)amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxy-calix[4]-arene (4), 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(2-nitroazo)benzylidene) amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (5), 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis[2-[(2-hydroxy-5-(4-chloroazo)benzylidene)amino]ethoxy]-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (6), have been synthesized as an selective chromoionophore for Na+. The complexation behavior of ligands 4-6 with alkali metal ions Na+, K+, Rb+and Cs+ has been evaluated by using UV-Vis spectrometry in CH3CN-H2O (99:1/V:V) solution at 25°C. The UV-Vis spectra show that the complexation of 4-6 with Na+exhibits obvious bathochromic shifts (λmax 379→480 nm) and there is a unique color change in the solution from yellow to red upon complexation. The binding constants for Na+ are higher than that of other alkali metal ions, giving the highest cation selectivity up to 7 for Na+/K+. The binding ability and photophysical behavior of alkali cations by calix[4]arene derivatives 4-6 are discussed from the point of view of substituted effects at the lower rim of parent calix[4]arene and size-fit concept between host calix[4]arenes and guest cations.  相似文献

A series of new calix[4]resorcinarenes (rccc-isomer) and resorcinols functionalized by acetylhydrazone binding fragments have been synthesized. The IR and NMR data and stereochemical behaviour of hydrazones are reported and compared with the results of earlier investigations. The barriers of rotation of hydrazone fragments for some octahydrazone derivatives of calix[4]resorcinarenes and their resorcinol analogues have been determined by NMR-measurements. The complexing behaviour of bis- and octahydrazones has been studied by liquid-liquid extraction towards the s-metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+ and Ca2+), p-metal ions (Pb2+), d-metal ions (Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+) and f-metal ions (La3+, Gd3+ and Lu3+). The stoichiometry of complexes and the extraction constants have been determined. It has been established that octahydrazones do not extract alkali metal cations but show excellent selectivity towards transition and soft heavy metal cations (especially Hg2+ or Pb2+).  相似文献

The synthesis and calcium-selective chromogenic ion binding properties of benzothiazolium derivative of calix[4]arene are described. The merocyanine-type ionophore derived from calix[4]arene-diamide showed selective chromogenic properties toward Ca2+ ions in aqueous methanol. The compound showed significant Ca2+ ion dependent changes in UV-vis spectral properties in the presence of other physiologically important metal ions (Na+, K+, and Mg2+). The pH sensitive chromogenic behavior also suggests that the compound can be used as a sensitive pH indicator around pH 6.5.  相似文献

The synthesis of two new flavin substituted calix[4]arene derivatives, 9 and 10 , is described. The first flavin substituted calix[4]arene derivative 9 was synthesized by the reaction of 3‐methylalloxazine ( 5 ) with 25,27‐bis(3‐bromopropoxy)‐26,28‐dihydroxy‐5,11,17,23‐tetra(tert‐butyl)calix[4]arene ( 4 ) in high yield (92%). The other derivative 10 was prepared from 3‐methylalloxazine‐1‐acetic acid ( 7 ) and 25,27‐bis(3‐cyanopropoxy)calix[4]arene ( 3 ). All new compounds were characterized by a combination of FT‐IR and 1H‐NMR spectroscopy, and elemental‐analysis techniques.  相似文献

We first make use of aminolysis of calix[4]arene esters to synthesize calix[4]arene amides. When the two ethyl esters of the calix[4]arene esters are aminolysized, the 1, 3-amide derivative is formed selectively. The crystal structures of the calix-[4]arene with two butyl amide (3b) and four butyl amide moieties (4b) were determined. The intermolecular hydrogen bonds make 4b form two-dimensional net work insolid state. The 1H NMR spectra prove that 3b is of a pinched cone conformation, while 4b and tetraheptylamide-calix[4]arene (6b) take fast interconversion between two C2v isomers in solution and appear an apparent cone conformation at room temperature. As decreasing temperature, the interconversion rate decreases gradually and, finally, the interconversion process is frozen at Tc = -10℃, which makes both conformations of 4b and 6b the pinched cone structures. The hydrogen bond improves the interconversion barrier, and the large different values of the potential barrier between 6b and 4b (or 6b) may  相似文献

Direct O-alkylation of p-tert-butyltetrathiacalix[4]arene with N,N-diethylchloroacetamide afforded two conformational isomers (1,3-alternate and cone) of tetrakis[(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)methoxy]thiacalix[4]arene and 1,3-disubstituted bis[(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)methoxy]thiacalix[4]arene, depending on the base used. The complaxation behaviors of the tetrakis isomers were assessed by 1H NMR titration experiments. Evidence of 1:2 (homo- and hetero-dinuclear) complexes formation of 1,3-alternate-tetrakis[(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)methoxy]thiacalix[4]arene with alkali (K+ and Na+) or transition (Ag+) metal ions was obtained. Interestingly, it was found that the cone-tetrakis[(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)methoxy]thiacalix[4]arene required a prior Ag+ complexation to form 1:2 heterodinuclear complex. The selective behavior of calix[n]arene ester derivatives in two-phase extraction systems using polarographic technique has been investigated. Calix[4]arene tetraester derivative shows remarkable Na+ over Pb2+ selectivity; whereas calix[6]arene hexaester derivative shows Pb2+ over Na+ selectivity. The interference of some selected cations (Na+, K+, Cu2+ and Mg2+) were also examined and no significant effect on the selectivity behavior as well as extraction ability of these ionophores was found except Na+. The study reveals for the first time that the calix[6]arene hexaester derivative is highly Pb2+ selective ionophore and can be employed in the field of sensor as well as separation science and technology. The work also highlights the usefulness of polarographic technique in trace metal determination.  相似文献

By reacting mono-substituted or 1,3-bi-substituted [2-(p-formylphenyloxy)ethyloxy]-p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene (3 or 4) with hydrazine hydrate in ‘1+2’ or ‘2+2’ condensation mode, novel benzalazine-bridging biscalix[4]arenes 5 and 7 were conveniently obtained in the yields of 76 and 81%, respectively. Condensation of compound 4 and salicylide hydrazone gave a novel calix[4]arene benzalazine derivative 6 in the yield of 85%. The structures and conformations of all new compounds were characterised by elemental analyses, ESI-MS, 1H NMR and 1H–1H COSY techniques. Biscalix[4]arene 7 adopts a symmetrical cone conformation with tube cavity. The liquid–liquid extraction experiment showed that all new hosts possessed excellent complexation abilities towards soft metal cations. Compound 7 exhibited high complexation selectivity towards Ag+. The Ag+/Na+ and Ag+/Hg2+ extraction percentages of host 7 were as high as 73.1 and 54.9, respectively. The UV–vis spectra complexation experiments revealed that the complexation constant of receptor 7 with Ag+ was 1.9 × 105 M? 1 and the 1:1 stoichiometry of receptor 7–Ag+ complex was formed. The 1H NMR spectra complexation experiments suggested that Ag+ was bound in a cavity composed of two benzalazine groups on bridging chains.  相似文献

New de-tert-butyltetrathiacalix[4]arenes with acetylhydrazide substituents in cone and 1,3-alternate conformations have been synthesised with good yield by the hydrazinolysis of calix[4]arene ester derivatives. The recognition ability of synthesised macrocycles towards transition and alkali metals has been investigated by the picrate extraction method. The stoichiometry of complexes and the extraction constants have been determined. It has been found that tetrahydrazides do not extract alkali metal ions, but show an excellent affinity towards transition and heavy metal cations. The 1,3-alternate conformer of de-tert-butyltetrathiacalix[4]arene has revealed a remarkable selectivity for Ni2+ and Ag+ in the row of d-elements and for Cd2+ ion among the toxic heavy metals. The experimental data show that the removal of tert-butyl groups from tetrathiacalix[4]arene framework leads to the drastic improvement of extraction efficiency and selectivity of new tetrahydrazides.  相似文献

Eight novel calix[6]arene-based biomimetic ligands for transition metal ions have been synthesized. They display a non-symmetrical N3, N4 or N3ArO binding core that mimics enzyme active sites presenting histidine and tyrosine residues. The key step for their synthesis is the mono-alkylation at the small rim of the C3v symmetrical trimethyl ether derivative of tBu-calix[6]arene with N-Boc-2-chloroethylamine to yield a novel calix[6]arene synthon. Its combined O-alkylation with a chloromethyl aromatic amine and N-deprotection or alkylation or reductive alkylation with a salicylaldehyde derivative yielded the calix[6]arene-based ligands with mixed N/O donors.  相似文献

Complexones of a new class, viz., carboxy-functionalized calix[4]pyrrogallols, were synthesized. The per-O-(carboxymethyl)calix[4]pyrogallols obtained were established to exist in the (rel, cis, trans, trans)-configuration by 2D NMR spectroscopic data. According to the pH-potentiometric data, the interaction of these compounds with alkaline metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+, Cs+) and lanthanide ions (La3+, Gd3+, Lu3+) in a water—DMSO system produces 1 : 1 complexes. The specific features of complexation of per-O-(carboxymethyl)calix[4]pyrogallols, as compared to their acyclic analogs, with alkaline metal and lanthanide ions are due to the cooperative effect of donor groups preorganized on the calixarene matrix.  相似文献

对叔丁基杯[4]芳烃-1,3-二醛基衍生物1与水杨酰肼、烟酰肼、异烟酰肼反应, 合成了具有开链结构新型杯[4]多重氮杂衍生物2a2c, 产率分别为88%, 85%和90%. 化合物1与乙二酰肼、丙二酰肼、己二酰肼反应, 得到具有桥联结构的新型杯[4]多重氮杂衍生物3a3c, 产率分别为86%, 89%和90%. 新化合物的结构经元素分析、质谱、核磁共振谱等表征证实, 杯[4]芳烃单元均为1,3-取代且采取锥式构象.  相似文献
