Thermal performance of building materials is an important parameter from the point of view of energy consumption for heating buildings, which is obviously related to environmental protection standards. Thermal parameters of roofing slates were measured for samples from two different formations in the Czech Republic. These were rocks of lower Carboniferous Culm facies of Moravice Formation and Silesian Unit of Flysch Moravian-Silesian Carpathians. Thermal conductivity and thermal effusivity measurements were performed with use of TCi analyser. Thermal parameters were obtained in parallel and perpendicular direction to the bedding in rocks. Thermal conductivity of the Moravian slates in the direction perpendicular to the bedding ranges from 1.43 to 1.79 W m?1 K?1, while for samples from Carpathian region this parameter ranges from 1.99 to 3.15 W m?1 K?1. High values of thermal conductivity correlate to higher quartz content in the rocks. The measured thermal parameters (conductivity, effusivity, diffusivity) are strongly depending on the direction of measurement. Thermal conductivity of analysed rocks increases along with increase in temperature. The increase in thermal conductivity value is more significant in case of Moravian slates. In practice, the obtained results indicate that the traditional building material, such as roofing slates, shows better insulation properties at lower temperatures, while in conditions of strong sunlight the temperature conductivity increases. In case of roofing slates, which tend to be highly anisotropic, the essential information is the direction of thermal parameters measurement. Slates, due to their specific texture, are characterized by a very high thermal anisotropy coefficient.

Thermal conductivity variations with temperature of solid phases for lauric acid (LA), myristic acid (MA), pivalic acid (PA), and stearic acid (SA) have been measured with radial heat-flow method. Temperature dependencies of the thermal conductivity for same organic materials have been obtained by linear regression analysis. From graphs of thermal conductivity versus temperature, the thermal conductivity of solid phase at their melting temperature and temperature coefficients of thermal conductivity for LA, MA, PA, and SA have been found to be 0.37, 0.39, 0.23, and 0.35 W K?1 m?1 and 0.00935, 0.00446, 0.01095, and 0.00295 K?1, respectively. The ratios of thermal conductivity of liquid phase to thermal conductivity of solid phase for LA, MA, PA, and SA have also been measured to be 0.52, 0.48, 0.25, and 0.59, respectively, with a Bridgman-type directional solidification apparatus.  相似文献

Bi2Te3 nanoparticles (NPs) have been synthesized at 50?°C by a low-cost wet chemical route. The structural properties of product sample were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and scanning electron microscopy. Thermal properties of product sample were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric (TG), and transient plane source techniques. The XRD and selected area electron diffraction of Bi2Te3 NPs result showed the polycrystalline nature with a rhombohedral (R3m) structure of the nanocrystallites. The average grain size of Bi2Te3 NPs was found to be about 30?nm by XRD and TEM measurements. DSC result shows one endothermic peak and one exothermic peak. TG result shows that only 48?% mass loss has occurred in Bi2Te3 sample. The obtained lower thermal conductivity of Bi2Te3 NPs is about 0.3?W m?1 K?1 at room temperature, which is caused by considering the crystalline nature of this material.  相似文献

This work focuses on the thermal characterization of a calcium silicate-based material synthesized with different solid wastes (chamotte and marble) for use as thermal insulation material. Thermal and structural changes occurring during heating were accompanied by differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, dilatometric analysis, open photoacoustic cell technique, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy. An endothermic event at 823.2 °C was interpreted as decomposition of carbonates. An exothermic event around 900 °C is associated with the crystallization of calcium silicate phases mainly wollastonite. The themophysical properties of the calcium silicate-based material (thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity, specific thermal capacity, and thermal effusivity) are influenced by the synthesis temperature. The thermal analysis results agree well with the XRD. The calcium silicate pieces presented low thermal conductivity values (0.227?0.376 W m?1 K?1). These results suggest that the calcium silicate-based materials produced essentially with chamotte and marble wastes has high potential to be used as thermal insulation construction material.  相似文献

Thermal and thermochemical investigations of natural hydroxyl-bearing copper sulfate Cu3SO4(OH)4??antlerite have been carried out. The stages of its thermal decomposition have been studied employing the Fourier-transform IR spectroscopy. The enthalpy of formation of antlerite from the elements ??f H m o (298.15?K)?=?(?1750?±?10)?kJ?mol?1 has been determined by the method of oxide melt solution calorimetry. Using value of S m o (298.15?K), equal to (263.46?±?0.47)?J?K?1?mol?1, obtained earlier by the method of adiabatic calorimetry, the Gibbs energy value of ??f G m o (298.15?K)?=?(?1467?±?10)?kJ?mol?1 has been calculated.  相似文献

A diamine‐based benzoxazine monomer (Bz) and a liquid crystalline epoxy monomer (LCE) are synthesized, respectively. Subsequently, a benzoxazine‐epoxy interpenetrating polymer network (PBEI) containing liquid crystalline structures is obtained by sequential curing of the LCE and the Bz in the presence of imidazole. The results show that the preferential curing of LCE plays a key role in the formation mechanism of liquid crystalline phase. Due to the introduction of liquid crystalline structures, the thermal conductivity of PBEI increases with increasing content of LCE. When the content of LCE is 80 wt %, the thermal conductivity reaches 0.32 W m?1 K?1. Additionally, the heat‐resistance of PBEI is superior to liquid crystalline epoxy resin. Among them, PBEI55 containing equal weight of Bz and LCE has better comprehensive performance. Its thermal conductivity, glass transition temperature, and the 5 % weight loss temperature are 0.28 W m?1 K?1, 160 °C, and 339 °C, respectively. By introducing boron nitride (BN) fillers into PBEI55, a composite of PBEI/BN with the highest thermal conductivity of 3.00 W m?1 K?1 is obtained. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Characterization of thermal transport in nanoscale thin films with very low thermal conductivity (<1 W m?1 K?1) is challenging due to the difficulties in accurately measuring spatial variations in temperature field as well as the heat losses. In this paper, we present a new experimental technique involving freestanding nanofabricated specimens that are anchored at the ends, while the entire chip is heated by a macroscopic heater. The unique aspect of this technique is to remove uncertainty in measurement of convective heat transfer, which can be of the same magnitude as through the specimen in a low conductivity material. Spatial mapping of temperature field as well as the natural convective heat transfer coefficient allows us to calculate the thermal conductivity of the specimen using an energy balance modeling approach. The technique is demonstrated on thermally grown silicon oxide and low dielectric constant carbon-doped oxide films. The thermal conductivity of 400 nm silicon dioxide films was found to be 1.2 W m?1 K?1, and is in good agreement with the literature. Experimental results for 200 nm thin low dielectric constant oxide films demonstrate that the model is also capable of accurately determining the thermal conductivity for materials with values <1 W m?1 K?1.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Rapidly increasing demands for higher integration density and stability of electronic devices embrace higher requirements for thermally conductive silicone rubber, which is promisingly used in ultra-thin components. In this work, alumina whiskers (AWs) and alumina flakes (AFs) are used to modify liquid silicone rubber (LSR) by fabricating binary (AFs/LSR) or ternary (AWs/AFs/LSR) composites. The thermal conductivity and mechanical strength of the binary and ternary composites were investigated. Thermal conductivity of the binary AFs/LSR composite (25AFs/LSR) was 0.1990 W m?1 K?1, while the thermal conductivity of the ternary AFs/AWs/LSR composite (20AFs/5AWs/LSR) was 0.2655 W m?1 K?1. Furthermore, the tensile strength of the ternary AWs/AFs/LSR composites increased by 180.9% as compared with the binary system, increased to 7.81 MPa from 2.78 MPa due to the introduction of 1 wt% AWs. As a reason, a significant synergistic effect of AWs and AFs in the enhancement of both thermal and mechanical properties of the LSR was proved. Furthermore, the dielectric property measurements demonstrated that the ternary composites exhibited a lower dielectric constant and dielectric loss, indicating that the AWs/AFs/LSR composites were qualified to be applied in the field of electronic devices.  相似文献

Single crystals of SrAl2Si2 were synthesized by reaction of the elements in an aluminum flux at 1000 °C. SrAl2Si2 is isostructural to CaAl2Si2 and crystallizes in the hexagonal space group P-3m1 (90 K, a=4.1834 (2), c=7.4104 (2) Å, Z=1, R1=0.0156, wR2=0.0308). Thermal analysis shows that the compound melts at ∼1020 °C. Low-temperature resistivity on single crystals along the c-axis shows metallic behavior with room temperature resistivity value of ∼7.5 mΩ cm. High-temperature Seebeck, resistivity, and thermal conductivity measurements were made on hot-pressed pellets. The Seebeck coefficient shows negative values in entire temperature range decreasing from ∼−78 μV K−1 at room temperature to −34 μV K−1 at 1173 K. Seebeck coefficients are negative indicating n-type behavior; however, the temperature dependence is consistent with contribution from minority p-type carriers as well. The lattice contribution to the thermal conductivity is higher than for clathrate structures containing Al and Si, approximately 50 mW cm−1 K, and contributes to the overall low zT for this compound.  相似文献

Rigid polyurethane (PU) foams having saccharide and castor oil structures in the molecular chain were prepared by reaction between reactive alcoholic hydroxyl group and isocyanate. The apparent density of PU foams was in a range from 0.05 to 0.15 g cm?3. Thermal properties of the above polyurethane foams were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and thermal conductivity measurement. Glass transitions were observed in two steps. The low-temperature side glass transition was observed at around 220 K, regardless of castor oil content. This transition is attributed to the molecular motion of alkyl chain groups of castor oil. The high-temperature side glass transition observed in the temperature range from 350 to 390 K depends on the amount of molasses polyol content. The high-temperature side glass transition is attributed to the molecular motion of saccharides, such as sucrose, glucose, fructose as well as isocyanate phenyl rings, which act as rigid components. Thermal decomposition was observed in two steps at 570 and 620–670 K. Thermal conductivity was observed at around 0.032 J sec?1 m?1 K?1. Compression strength and modulus of PU foams were obtained by mechanical test. It was confirmed that the thermal and mechanical properties of PU foams could be controlled by changing the mixing ratio of castor oil and molasses for suitable practical applications.  相似文献

Graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) were used as filler and matrix, respectively, to produce composites. The PPS/GNP thermal composites were prepared via a melt blending method. The effects of GNP on crystallization behavior and kinetics, morphology, and thermal properties of PPS/GNP composites were investigated. To determine the isothermal crystallization kinetics parameters and isothermal crystallization activation energy, the Avrami model was used to comparatively analyze the relevant DSC experimental data. The results show that GNP provides an obvious heterogeneous nucleation effect on PPS to accelerate the crystallization and decrease isothermal crystallization activation energy. Thermal conductivity values of PPS/GNP composites with various GNP contents revealed that GNP remarkably increases thermal conductivity of composites mainly via a layered dispersion in PPS matrix. Thermal conductivity also increased with increasing GNP content, which was further improved at elevated temperatures. The thermal conductivities of PPS composite containing 30 mass% of GNP were 1.156 and 1.350 W m?1 K?1 at 30 and 110 °C, respectively, indicating an increase of more than 3 times compared with the neat PPS.  相似文献

In this study, CaCl2·6H2O/expanded graphite (EG) composite was prepared as a novel form-stable composite phase change material (PCM) through vacuum impregnation method. CaCl2·6H2O used as the PCM was dispersed by surfactant and then, was absorbed into the porous structure of the EG. The surfactant was used to enhance the bonding energy between CaCl2·6H2O and EG, which fulfilled the composites with good sealing performance and limited the leakage of the inside CaCl2·6H2O. Differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis show that all the composite PCMs possess good thermal energy storage behavior and thermal stability. Thermal conductivity measurement displays that the conductivities of the samples have been significantly improved due to the highly thermal conductive EG. The thermal conductivity of the sample including 50 mass% CaCl2·6H2O (8.796 W m?1 K?1) is 14 times as that of pure CaCl2·6H2O (0.596 W m?1 K?1). Therefore, the obtained composite PCMs are promising for thermal energy storage applications.  相似文献

The preparatory conditions for the oxide compositions La1?xCaxCoO3?δ have been determined along with their crystallographic, thermochemical, and electrical properties. Single phase solid solutions of the perovskite structure form atx < 0.6. It has been established that the compounds obtained in the open air atmosphere are oxygen deficient, the deficit increasing withx and temperature. The specific resistivity atx = 0.2–0.6 is (1–2)·10?3 ohm·cm; it increases with the concentration of oxygen vacancies. At 0.3 ≤ x ≤ 0.6 thep-type conductivity is metallic in character with low temperature resistivity coefficients of the order (1–5)·10?4 K?1 in the interval 20–700°C.  相似文献

As conventional organic solvents present inherent toxicity, deep eutectic solvents (DES) have been considered as excellent candidates due to their green characteristics. In this work, thermoelectric properties enhancement of PEDOT:PSS films is achieved by introducing DES as an additive and post‐treatment reagent. Direct addition and post‐treatment approaches lead to a maximum Seebeck coefficient of 29.1 μV K?1 and electrical conductivity of 620.6 S cm?1, respectively. In addition, an optimal power factor is obtained by DES post‐treatment, reaching up to 24.08 μW m?1 K?2, which is approximately four orders of magnitude higher than the pure PEDOT:PSS. Assuming a thermal conductivity of 0.17 W m?1 K?1, the maximum ZT value is estimated to be 0.042 at 300 K. Further, atomic force microscopy and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy are performed and suggest that the remarkably enhanced electrical conductivity originates from the removal of the excess insulating PSS and the phase separation between the PEDOT and PSS chains. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Thermoelectric properties of polycrystalline La1−xSrxCoO3, where Sr2+ is substituted in La3+ site in perovskite-type LaCoO3, have been investigated. Sr-doping increases the electrical conductivity (σ) of La1−xSrxCoO3, and also decreases the Seebeck coefficient (S) for 0.01?x?0.40. A Hall coefficient measurement reveals that the increase in electrical conductivity arises from increases in both carrier concentration and the Hall mobility. The decrease in the Seebeck coefficient is caused by a decrease in carrier effective mass as well as increase in carrier concentration. The highest power factor (σS2) is 3.7×10−4 W m−1 K−2 at 250 K for x=0.10. The thermal conductivity (κ) is about 2 W m−1 K−1 at 300 K for 0?x?0.04, and increases for x?0.05 because of an increase in heat transport by conductive carrier. The thermoelectric properties of La1−xSrxCoO3 are improved by Sr-doping, and the figure of merit (Z=σS2 κ−1) reaches 1.6×10−4 K−1 for x=0.06 at 300 K (ZT=0.048). For heavily Sr-doped samples, the thermoelectric properties diminish mainly because of the decrease in the Seebeck coefficient and the increase in thermal conductivity.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition process and non-isothermal decomposition kinetic of glyphosate were studied by the Differential thermal analysis (DTA) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that the thermal decomposition temperature of glyphosate was above 198?°C. And the decomposition process was divided into three stages: The zero stage is the decomposition of impurities, and the mass loss in the first and second stage may be methylene and carbonyl, respectively. The mechanism function and kinetic parameters of non-isothermal decomposition of glyphosate were obtained from the analysis of DTA?CTG curves by the methods of Kissinger, Flynn?CWall?COzawa, Distributed activation energy model, Doyle and ?atava-?esták, respectively. In the first stage, the kinetic equation of glyphosate decomposition obtained showed that the decomposition reaction is a Valensi equation of which is two-dimensional diffusion, 2D. Its activation energy and pre-exponential factor were obtained to be 201.10?kJ?mol?1 and 1.15?×?1019?s?1, respectively. In the second stage, the kinetic equation of glyphosate decomposition obtained showed that the decomposition reaction is a Avrami?CErofeev equation of which is nucleation and growth, and whose reaction order (n) is 4. Its activation energy and pre-exponential factor were obtained to be 251.11?kJ?mol?1 and 1.48?×?1021?s?1, respectively. Moreover, the results of thermodynamical analysis showed that enthalpy change of ??H ??, entropy change of ??S ?? and the change of Gibbs free energy of ??G ?? were, respectively, 196.80?kJ?mol?1,107.03?J?mol?1?K?1, and 141.77?kJ?mol?1 in the first stage of the process of thermal decomposition; and 246.26?kJ?mol?1,146.43?J?mol?1?K?1, and 160.82?kJ?mol?1 in the second stage.  相似文献

Form-stable phase change materials (PCMs) with high thermal conductivity are essential for thermal energy storage systems, which in turn are indispensible in solar thermal energy applications and efficient use of energy. In this paper, a new palmitic acid (PA)/polyaniline (PANI) form-stable PCMs were prepared by surface polymerization. The highest loading of PA in the form-stable PCMs was 80 mass% with the phase change enthalpy (ΔH melting) of 175 J g?1. Copper nanowires (Cu NWs) were introduced to the form-stable PCM by mixing the Cu NWs with PA and ethanol prior to the emulsifying of PA in surfactant solution. The Cu NWs would remain intact in case the ethanol was eliminated before the PA/Cu NWs mixture was mixed with surfactant solution. Otherwise, the Cu NWs would be partially oxidized under the attack of ethanol and ammonium persulfate. The ΔH melting of the form-stable PCMs containing Cu NWs decreased linearly with the increasing of Cu NWs loading. The ΔH melting of the form-stable PCMs doped with 11.2 mass% Cu NWs was 149 J g?1. The thermal conductivity of the form-stable PCMs could be effectively improved by Cu NWs. By adding 11.2 mass% Cu NWs, the thermal conductivity of the form-stable PCM could attain 0.455 W m?1 K?1.  相似文献

The degree of oxidation of conducting polymers has great influence on their thermoelectric properties. Free‐standing poly(3‐methylthiophene) (P3MeT) films were prepared by electrochemical polymerization in boron trifluoride diethyl etherate, and the fresh films were treated electrochemically with a solution of propylene carbonate/lithium perchlorate as mediator. The conductivity of the resultant P3MeT films depends on the doping level, which is controlled by a constant potential from ?0.5 to 1.4 V. The optimum electrical conductivity (78.9 S cm?1 at 0.5 V) and a significant increase in the Seebeck coefficient (64.3 μV K?1 at ?0.5 V) are important for achieving an optimum power factor at an optimal potential. The power factor of electrochemically treated P3MeT films reached its maximum value of 4.03 μW m?1 K?2 at 0.5 V. Moreover, after two months, it still exhibited a value of 3.75 μW m?1 K?2, and thus was more stable than pristine P3MeT due to exchange of doping ions in films under ambient conditions. This electrochemical treatment is a significant alternative method for optimizing the thermoelectric power factor of conducting polymer films.  相似文献
