Neutral complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) have been synthesized from the oxamide-based ligand derived from leucine and diethyloxalate. The structural features have been deduced from their microanalytical, IR, UV/Vis, mass, 1H and 13C NMR spectral data. The Co(II) and Ni(II) chelates have octahedral geometries and the Cu(II) chelate is a square-pyramidal geometry. The non-electrolytic and monomeric nature of the complexes is shown by their magnetic susceptibility and low conductance data. The biological activities of the ligand and its metal chelates against gram-positive and negative bacteria and fungi are also reported. All the compounds are antimicrobially active and show higher activity than the free ligand. 相似文献

The crystal structures and thermal behaviour of bis(N-pyrrolidine-N′-(2-chloro-benzoyl)thioureato)zinc(II) (ZnL2) and its copper(II) analogue (CuL2) are reported. In both structures, the metal atoms are coordinated by two oxygen and two sulfur atoms to form neutral trans-square planar (Cu) and distorted tetrahedral (Zn) species. A number of chelates of the transition metal ions Fe2+, Fe3+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Pd2+ with 2′-hydroxy - 3′ - bromo - 4 - methoxy - 5′ - methylchalkone oxime (HBMMCO) have been synthesised. Attempts have been made to assign their probable structures on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis, absorption and reflectance spectra, IR spectra and magnetic data. The magnetic susceptibility of the Co(II) chelate follows the Curie-Weiss law and the observed temperature dependance is in favour of an octahedral configuration. The Ni(II) chelate exhibits a 6-coordinate octahedral structure, whilst distorted octahedral geometry is suggested for the Cu(II) chelate. The Fe(II) and Fe(III) chelates have high spin octahedral configurations and the dimagnetic behaviour of the Pd(II) complex indicates a square planer configuration. 相似文献

Complexes [ML2] of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) with asymmetrically substituted (E)-3-ethyl-5-[(4-iodo-3,5-dimethyl-2H-pyrrol-2-ylidene)methyl]-2,4-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole (HL) have been prepared and characterized for the first time. The spectral properties, stability in solutions and in the solid phase at elevated temperature of the complexes have been studied. The effects of complexing metal ion and the reaction medium on the spectral luminescent properties (absorptivity, quantum yield, fluorescence lifetime, and the radiation constant) and on thermal destruction of the [ML2] complexes have been discussed. 相似文献

Electrochemical reactions of Co(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes with 4-(2-oxopropylidene)-2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-3-imidazolidine-1-oxyl are studied by voltammetry and electrolysis-EPR. The radical centers of the ligands in these complexes undergo one-electron irreversible oxidation and reduction. Benzyl(4-methoxyphenyl)dithiophosphinic acid (HL) was obtained as solid and was treated with the NiCl26H2O, CoCl26H2O, ZnCl2, and CdCl2 to prepare its Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) complexes. The nickel complex was further treated with pyridine which led to the formation of octahedral dipyridine derivative. HL was obtained through the addition reaction of the perthiophosphonic acid anhydride Lawesson reagent, (LR), [2,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,2,4-dithiadiphosphetane-2,4-disulfide], with the corresponding Grignard compound (benzylmagnesium bromide) in diethyl ether medium.The complexes were all of the stoichiometry of [M(L)2]x, with x = 1 for M = Ni2+ and x = 2 for M = Co2+, Cd2+ and Zn2+. The coordination geometry was square planar in the nickel(II) complex and tetrahedral in the others. Similar to many other nickel(II) complexes, the Ni(L)2 reacts reversibly with pyridine to yield the octahedral complex ({(Py)2Ni(L)2}).The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis; MS, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopies. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured to confirm the hybridization patterns and the geometries. Single-crystal X-ray analyses of Ni(L)2 and [Co(L)2]2 complexes were also carried out to prove the molecular topologies. 相似文献

Microwave chemistry is a green chemical method that improves reaction conditions and product yields while reducing solvent amounts and reaction times. The main aim of this article is to synthesize the tetradentate N2O2 ligand [HO(Ar)CH=N–(CH2)2–N=CH(Ar)OH] and manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) complexes of the type ML by classical and microwave techniques. The resulting Schiff base and its complexes are characterized by 1H NMR, infrared, elemental analysis, and electronic spectral data. The ligand and its Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes were further identified by X-ray diffraction and mass spectra to confirm the structure. The results suggest that the metal is bonded to the ligand through the phenolic oxygen and the imino nitrogen. 相似文献

Synthesis of volatile complexes based on -ketoimine pivalyltrifluoroacetone, C(CH3)3C(NH)CH2COCF3, is described. The general formula of the complexes is M(L)2, where M = Cu, Ni, Pd. Complexes of this kind with Ni and Pd were obtained for the first time. The Cu and Pd complexes were found to be isostructural. A comprehensive crystal-chemical study showed that all structures are molecular and built of trans-complexes. The central atom has a square plane environment. The average M-O and M-N distances are nearly equal in all compounds: 1.84 , 1.92 , and 1.98 for Ni, Cu, and Pd complexes, respectively; the mean values of the O-M-N chelate angles are 93.4°, 91.9°, and 92.7°, respectively.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2004 by I. A novel mixed-ligand complexes with empirical formulae: Ln(4-bpy)1.5(CCl3COO)3·nH2O (where Ln(III) = Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb; n = 1 for Pr, Sm, Eu and n = 3 for Gd, Tb; 4-bpy = 4,4′-bipyridine) were prepared and characterized by chemical, elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy.
Conductivity studies (in methanol, dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide) were also described. All complexes are crystalline.
The way of metal–ligand coordination was discussed. The thermal properties of complexes in the solid state were studied under
non-isothermal conditions in air atmosphere. During heating the complexes decompose via intermediate products to the oxides:
Pr6O11, Ln2O3 (for Sm, Eu, Gd) and Tb4O7. TG-MS system was used to analyze principal volatile thermal decomposition and fragmentation products evolved during pyrolysis

Complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with N,N′-(aldose)2–thiocarbohydrazide (LH2) were synthesized, isolated as solid products and characterized by analytical means as well as by spectral techniques, FTIR, 1H NMR, EPR, UV spectroscopy, and CD. All the metal ions formed M[LH]X complexes. Molar conductance values in DMF indicate non-electrolytic complexes. In DMSO with tetramethylammonium chloride supporting electrolyte, the copper complex displays irreversible cyclic voltammetric responses with E p near ?0.621 and 0.461 V versus Ag/AgCl at scan rate of 0.1 V s?1. New complexes of type [M(HL)(CH3COO)(OH2)m]·nH2O (where M:Co, m = 2, n = 2; M:Ni, m = 2, n = 1.5; M:Zn, m = 0, n = 2.5 and M:Cd, m = 0, n = 0; H2L:5-bromo-N,N′-bis-(salicylidene)-o-tolidine) have been synthesized and characterized by microanalytical, IR, UV–Vis-NIR and magnetic data. Electronic spectra of Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes are characteristic for an octahedral stereochemistry. The IR spectra indicate a chelate coordination mode for mono-deprotonated Schiff base and a bidentate one for acetate ion. The thermal transformations are complex according to TG and DTA curves including dehydration, acetate decomposition and oxidative degradation of the Schiff base. The complexes of N,N′-didodecildithiooxamide (L): CoL3(ClO4)3, NiL2X2 (X = Cl, Br, I, ClO4, HSO4), CuL2X2 (X = ClO4, HSO4) and CuLX2 (X = Cl, Br) were prepared. The reactions of complex formation of Cu(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), and Cd(II) acetates with 3,3′,4,4′5,5′-hexamethyl-2,2′-dipyrrolylmethene (HL) in DMF were studied by the electronic spectroscopy and calorimetric titration methods at 298.15 K. The main products of the above reactions are [ML2] chelates. In the case of Cu and Ni salts, the process occurs through the spectrally recorded stage of formation of the heteroligand [ML(AcO)] complexes. The reaction with Cd acetate terminates at the stage of the heteroligand complex formation due to the large radius and decreasing electron affinity of the Cd2+ ion. The effect of the metal nature appears in the increasing thermodynamic stability of single-type complexes in the series [ML2]: Ni(II) < Zn(II) < Co(II) < Cu(II) and [ML(AcO)]: Cd(II) < Ni(II) < Cu(II). 相似文献

The preparation and characteristics of a new water-soluble reagent, N-phenyl- N'-(sodium p-aminobenzenesulfonate)thiourea (PPT) are described. In the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB) PPT reacts with Au(III), Pd(II), and Pt(IV) to form colored complexes with absorption maxima at 317 nm, 306.1 nm, 778.4 nm, respectively. Optimum conditions for color development were studied. The reagent was used for the simultaneous determination of Au(III), Pd(II), and Pt(IV); Amberlyst A-26 macropore anion-exchange resin was used as a means of rapid separation. The method was applied to the determination of Au(III), Pd(II), and Pt(IV) in catalyst materials and anode mud with satisfactory results. 相似文献

Six new macrocyclic complexes were synthesized by template reactions of salicylaldehyde derivatives with (±)-trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane and metal(II) nitrates. The metal to ligand ratio was 1 : 1. A new ligand, N-phenyl-N
-2-furanthiocarbohydrazide (HPhfth), and its complexes with VOIV, MnIII, FeIII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r., n.m.r., u.v.–vis., mass and FAB mass spectral data. The room temperature e.s.r. spectra of the VOIV, FeIII and CuII complexes yield <g> values characteristic of square pyramidal VOIV, octahedral FeIII and square planar CuII, respectively. The NiII and CuII complexes semiconduct, but the ZnII complex is an insulator at room temperature. However, the conductivity increases as the temperature increases from 303–383 K, with a band gap of 0.21–1.01 eV. HPhfth and its soluble complexes have been screened against several bacteria and fungi. 相似文献

Coordination polymers of Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with a Schiff base derived from 4,4′ - (4,4′ -biphenylylene bisazo) di (salicylaldehyde) and m-toluidine have been prepared. All the polychelates are dark colored and insoluble in common organic solvents. Magnetic susceptibility and electronic and IR spectra of the polychelates have been studied. All the polychelates except Cu(II) show octahedral structures while Cu(II) polychelate is suggested to be a square planar. 相似文献
