The synergistic solvent extraction of five selected lanthanoid ions (La3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Ho3+ and Lu3+) with a 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone(HP) and the 5,11,17,23-tert-butyl-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(dimethylphosphinoylmethoxy)calix[4]arene, (S) in CHCl3 has been studied. It was found that in presence of this phosphorus-containing calix[4]arene the lanthanoids have been extracted as LnP3 · S. On the basis of the experimental data, the values of the equilibrium constants have been calculated. The influence of the synergistic agent on the extraction process has been discussed. A synergistic effect of almost three orders of magnitude occurs in the extraction of Ln(III) with mixture of HP and S. The values of the separation factors (S.F.) between the adjacent elements have been evaluated. On the basis of the IR and NMR spectra the stoichiometry and the structure of the solid complexes of Eu(III) with HP and Eu(III) with HP and S were proposed.  相似文献

The extraction behaviour of thorium(IV) from aqueous nitric acid employing 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) in the presence of tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO) as well as tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) in xylene medium was investigated. The extraction constant (log k(ex)) for the binary organic phase species Th(PBI)(4) was determined to be 8.26 which is by far the largest amongst the corresponding values known for other beta-diketones. The overall extraction constant (log K) for the ternary species Th(PBI)(4) TBP and Th(PBI)(4).2TOPO were estimated to be 14.96 and 20.96 respectively. An inverse correlation of the adduct formation constant (log K(s)) with the pK(a) of the beta-diketones, 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone, 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone and HPBI, was observed. The steric as well as the electronic effects of adduct formation have been discussed. Analytical application of HPBI for the separation of (234)Th radiotracer from natural uranium (99.3% (238)U) has been suggested.  相似文献

The extraction of thorium(IV) and uranium(VI) from nitric acid solutions has been studied using mixtures of 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) and dicyclohexano-18-crown-6, benzo-18-crown-6, dibenzo-18-crown-6 or benzo-15-crown-5. The results demonstrate that these metal ions are extracted into chloroform as Th(PBI)(4) and UO(2)(PBI)(2) with HPBI alone and as Th(PBI)(4) . CE and UO(2)(PBI)(2) . CE in the presence of crown ethers (CE). The equilibrium constants of the above species have been deduced by non-linear regression analysis. The addition of a CE to the metal chelate system enhances the extraction efficiency and also improves the selectivities between thorium and uranium. IR spectral data of the extracted complexes were used to further clarify the nature of the complexes. The binding to the CEs by Th(PBI)(4) and UO(2)(PBI)(2) follows the CE basicity sequence but with DC18C6 and DB18C6, steric effects become more important.  相似文献

The synergistic extraction of alkaline earth cations from 1M NaNO3 aqueous solutions with 3-phenyl-4-benzoylisoxazol-5-one (HPBI) and tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) in toluene at 25°C has been studied. The extraction efficiency follows the order Ba2+<Sr2+<Ca2+<Mg2+, which is the same as that previously observed with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazol-5-one (HPMBP). The extraction occurs at a lower pH range than with HPMBP because of the higher acidity of HPBI. The extracted species are M(PBI)2(TOPO) x withx=2 for M=Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba (logK 1,2,2=3.91, 1.18 and 0.29 respectively) and withx=3 for M=Sr and Ba (logK 1,2,3=3.28 and 2.07 respectively). The strong interactions which occur between HPBI and TOPO (logK int=1.84) have been considered in the extraction constant calculations..  相似文献

The extraction behaviour of La(III), Ce(III), Eu(III), Th(IV) and U(VI) with 3-phenyl-4- benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) in chloroform has been studied. The mechanism of extraction and the species extracted have been identified. Extraction constants for each system have been calculated. The system has been used to separate Th(IV) from U(VI) and from La(III), Ce(III) and Eu(III). A comparison of the extraction constants with those for the 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone (HPMBP) and thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) systems indicates that HPBI extracts these metal species better than HPMBP and HTTA do.  相似文献

The extraction behaviour of iron(III) and titanium(IV) from acidic chloride solutions has been investigated using 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (HPBI) in xylene as an extractant. The results demonstrate that these metal ions are extracted into xylene as Fe(PBI)(3) and TiO(PBI)(2). The equilibrium constants of the extracted complexes have been deduced by non-linear regression analysis by taking into account complexation of metal ion with inorganic ligands in the aqueous phase and all plausible complexes extracted into the organic phase. IR and proton NMR ((1)H NMR) spectra were used to further clarify the nature of complexes extracted into organic phase. The effect of the nature of the diluent on the extraction of iron(III) and titanium(IV) has been studied and correlated with dielectric constants. The extraction behaviour of titanium(IV) has also been compared with that of other metal ions, viz. magnesium(II), vanadium(V), chromium(VI), iron(III), manganese(II), zinc(II) and zirconium(IV), which are associated with the titanium in waste chloride liquors of the titanium-mineral-processing industry.  相似文献

In the presence of tri-n-octyl-phosphine (TOPO) oxide, 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone (PBI) has been found to be a promising chelate extractant for the partitioning of actinides from acidic nuclear waste solutions. Quantitative extraction of Pu and U is possible in the nitric acid concentration range 1–6 M, whereas Am can be extracted only from solutions with an acidity . Extraction studies of Am and U under varying loading conditions are also carried out and conditions for quantitative stripping are arrived at.  相似文献

The solvent extraction of fourteen lanthanoid ions with thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) in combination with tetraethyl 4-tert-butylcalix[4]arene-tetraacetic acid tetraethyl ester (S) from a perchlorate medium at constant ionic strength was investigated. The extracted species were identified as the Ln(TTA)3·S complexes by slope analysis. Equilibrium constants, parameters for extraction, and the synergistic and separation factors between two adjacent Ln(III) ions were determined.

In the present study, the synthesis and liquid phase extraction properties towards some amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols of Schiff base and amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene are reported. The Schiff base substituted calix[4]arene 5 has been synthesized via condensation reaction involving 5,17-diformyl-11,23-di-tert-butyl-25,27-di[3-(4-formylphenoxy)propoxy]-26,28 dihydroxycalix[4]arene 4 and (R)-(?)-2-phenylglycine methyl ester in CHCl3:MeOH. To give the amino alcohol substituted calix[4]arene 6, the synthesized chiral compound 5 was reduced by LiAlH4. The new chiral Schiff base and amino alcohol derivatives of calix[4]arene have been characterized by a combination of FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FAB-MS and elemental analysis. Also, the extraction behaviors of 5 and 6 towards some selected amino acid methylesters and amino alcohols have been studied by liquid–liquid extraction.  相似文献

The potential of 3-phenyl-4-benzoylisoxazol-5-one (HPBI) as metal extractant has been evaluated for the first time for Cu(II) transport from aqueous nitrate solutions by supported liquid membrane (SLM) in the solvents chloroform, 2-nitro phenyl octyl ether (NPOE) and dodecyl nitro phenyl ether (DNPE). The efficiency of the membrane transport was optimized as a function of pH, temperature, aqueous phases and membrane composition. It follows the sequence CHCl3 > DNPE > NPOE. The results suggested that the transport mechanism was mainly controlled by the diffusion of the Cu(PBI)2 complex in the membrane core. A comparative investigation of Cu(II) transport ions has been made between SLM and polymeric plasticized membrane (PPM), containing HPBI with NPOE and DNPE as organic solvents or plasticizers in order to evaluate the feasibility of PPM with HPBI.  相似文献

Novel calix[4]arene amides have been synthesized and their interaction with alkaline cations has been evaluated through extracting aqueous solutions of Li-, Na- and K-picrates with solutions of calix[4]arene amides in CH2Cl2. Electron-withdrawing groups on the upper rim of the calix[4]arene scaffold were found to have a negative effect on the absolute amount of metal ions extracted. The decreased extraction ability is accompanied by a higher selectivity towards sodium cations.  相似文献

A new oligomeric calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 ( 5 ) was synthesized via a condensation reaction of 5,11,17,23‐tetra‐tert‐butyl‐25,27‐bis‐(4‐aminobenzyloxy)‐calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 ( 4 ) with adipoyl dichloride. In this oligomerization reaction only five/six calix[4]arene‐thiacrown‐4 units were linked in the oligomeric chain. The complexation studies of 5 were made with liquid–liquid‐ extraction and solid–liquid‐sorption procedures. For comparison, the extraction efficiencies of monomers 1 , 3 , and 4 to selected transition metals are reported. The selectivity of monomers 3 and 4 toward Cu2+, Hg2+, and Pb2+ was lost after oligomerization in the two‐phase extraction systems. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract

Calorimetric titrations have been performed for the first time in anhydrous acetonitrile at 25°C to give the complex stability constant (K S) and thermodynamic quantities for the complexation of light lanthanoid(III) nitrates (La-Gd) with 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-26,28-bis(cyanomethoxy)-25,27-dihydroxy-calix[4]arene (1) and 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-26, 28-bis(2-aminoethoxy)-25,27-dihydroxycalix[4]arene (2). X-ray crystallographic structures of 1 and 2 were also determined and compared. Possessing the cyanomethoxy and aminoethyl substituents, 1 and 2 displayed strikingly different cation binding abilities and selectivity profiles with much higher K S values for La3+ and Ce3+, which may be related to the original structures in the solid state. Thus, the binding profile for 2 showed a rapid decrease in K S with decreasing ionic diameter from La3+ to Pr3+ and then became flat up to Gd3+, while 1 gave a very flat profile which is superimposable with that for 2 between Pr3+-Gd3+. Thermodynamically, the complexation is driven absolutely by enthalpy which compensates the entropic loss arising from the structural freezing of the calix[4]arene derivatives upon simultaneous binding of lanthanoid ion by the phenolic oxygen and acetonitrile molecule in the cavity. The general validity and the meaning of the compensative enthalpy-entropy relationship observed are discussed.  相似文献

Synergistic extraction of long-lived fission products 137Cs+, 85Sr2+, and 152Eu3+ from dilute HNO3 into dichloroethane with ligands derived from p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix[4]arene in mixtures with chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide was studied. An extraordinary synergistic effect is observed in extraction of europium with p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix[4]arene tetraacetate derivative. Amides of p-(1-adamantyl)thiacalix-[4]arene tetracarboxylic acid are selective toward europium, although their extraction ability toward the examined ions is lower than that of the classical extractant, p-(1-adamantyl)calix[4]arene tetracarboxylic acid diethylamide.  相似文献

A novel fluorogenic calix[4]arene dansylcarboxamide in the cone conformation has been synthesized as the disodium salt and employed in optical recognition of mercury(II). In extraction from aqueous solutions with high content of competing Na+ (CNa+ ∼0.1 M; pH 5.0, acetate buffer) into CHCl3, the fluoroionophore allowed for detection of 8.0 × 10−7 M Hg2+ (1:1 complex; ) with high selectivity over many other relevant metal ions.  相似文献

A novel calix[4]arene derivative with two ferrocenyl Schiff-base groups at the upper rim 3 has been synthesized from 5,17-diformyl-25,27-dipropoxy-26,28-dihydroxy calix[4]arene and 4-ferrocenylaniline via condensation reaction. Reduction of 3 with sodium borohydride led to calix[4]arene derivative 4 with two amino ferrocenyl groups at the upper rim. The ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene and its corresponding reduced amine have been purified and characterized by elemental analysis,1H NMR, FTIR, Mass and UV-vis spectral data. Electrochemical properties of compounds 3 and 4 have been investigated. Cyclic voltammograms of 3 and 4 show reversible redox couples of ferrocene/ferrocinium at E1/2=0.401 V and 0.346 V, respectively. Electrochemical studies show these redox active compounds electrochemically recognize trivalent lanthanides La3+ and Ce3+ and divalent Pb2+ and Cu2+cations. With ferrocenyl Schiff-base calix[4]arene 3 an anodic shift as large as 130 mV is observed on addition of one equivalent of Ce3+ ion. Also extraction properties of compound 4 towards some metal cations have been described. It has been observed that compound 4 has a good selectivity for metal cations Fe3+, Cu2+, Pb2+ and Cd2+ against Ni2+ and Co2+.  相似文献

Microcalorimetric titrations have been performed in acidic aqueous solution at 25 °C to calculate the complex stability constants (KS) and thermodynamic parameters (ΔG°, ΔH°, and TΔS°) for the stoichiometric 1:1 complexation of lanthanoid(III) nitrates (La-Gd, Tb) with 5,11,17,23-tetrasulfonato-25,26,27,28-tetrakis(hydroxycarbonylmethoxy)calix[4]arene (2) and 5,11,17,23-tetrasulfonato-thiacalix[4]arene (3). Using the present and previous reported data on water-soluble calix[4]arenesulfonates (1) and structurally related analogues 2 and 3, the complexation behavior is discussed comparatively from the thermodynamic point of view. Possessing four carboxyls at the lower rim of parent calix[4]arenesulfonate (1), the derivative 2 displays the enhanced binding abilities for Sm3+. As compared with 1 and 2, p-sulfonatothiacalix[4]arene (3) gives not only the lower binding constants for all of lanthanoid(III) ions but also lower cations selectivity. Thermodynamically, the resulting complexes of lanthanoid(III) ions with 1 and its derivatives 2 and 3 is absolutely entropy-driven in aqueous solution, typically showing larger positive entropy changes. These larger positive entropy changes (TΔS°) and somewhat smaller positive enthalpy changes (ΔH°) are directly contributed to the complexes stability as a compensative consequence.  相似文献

New tris(heterocyclic beta-diketonato)europium(III) complexes of the general formula Eu(PBI)3.L [where HPBI = 3-phenyl-4-benzoyl-5-isoxazolone and L = H2O, 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), 4,4'-dimethoxy-2,2'-bipyridine (dmbpy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), or 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bath)] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1H NMR, high-resolution mass spectrometry, thermogravimetric analysis, and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray structures have been determined for the complexes Eu(PBI)3.H2O.EtOH and Eu(PBI)3.phen. The complex Eu(PBI)3.H2O.EtOH is mononuclear, and the central Eu3+ ion is coordinated by eight oxygen atoms to form a bicapped trigonal prism coordination polyhedron. Six oxygens are from the three bidentate HPBI ligands, one is from a water molecule, and another is from an ethanol molecule. On the other hand, the crystal structure of Eu(PBI)3.phen reveals a distorted square antiprismatic geometry around the europium atom. The room-temperature PL spectra of the europium(III) complexes are composed of the typical Eu3+ red emission, assigned to transitions between the first excited state (5D0) and the multiplet (7F0-4). The results demonstrate that the substitution of solvent molecules by bidentate nitrogen ligands in Eu(PBI)3.H2O.EtOH richly enhances the quantum yield and lifetime values. To elucidate the energy transfer process of the europium complexes, the energy levels of the relevant electronic states have been estimated. Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters (Omega2 and Omega4) were determined from the emission spectra for Eu3+ ion based on the 5D0 --> 7F2 and 5D0 --> 7F4 electronic transitions, respectively, and the 5D0 --> 7F1 magnetic dipole allowed transition was taken as the reference. The high values obtained for the 4f-4f intensity parameter Omega2 for europium complexes suggest that the dynamic coupling mechanism is quite operative in these compounds.  相似文献

Solvent extraction of the trivalent lanthanoids (except Pm) with mixtures of a chelating extractant, either 1-(2-thienyl)-4,4,4-trifluoro-1,3-butanedione (thenoyltrifluoro-acetone, HTTA) or 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one (HP) and diphenylsulphoxide (S), from chloride solutions has been studied in C6H6. It was found that, in the presence of a diphenylsulfoxide, the lanthanoids were extracted as Ln(TTA)3⋅S and LnP3⋅S. The extraction data have been analyzed by a graphical method taking into account aqueous phase speciation and the plausible complex extracted into the organic phase. On the basis of the experimental data, values of the equilibrium constants have been calculated. Positive values of the synergistic coefficients show that all lanthanoids are extracted synergistically upon the addition of compound S to the chelating extractant. The separation of the lanthanoids with synergistic mixtures was, in most cases, a little higher than those obtained using HTTA or HP alone.  相似文献
