Let Ω be an open connected subset of Rn of finite measure for which the Poincaré-Wirtinger inequality holds. We consider the Neumann eigenvalue problem for the Laplace operator in the open subset φ(Ω) of Rn, where φ is a locally Lipschitz continuous homeomorphism of Ω onto φ(Ω). Then, we show Lipschitz-type inequalities for the reciprocals of the eigenvalues delivered by the Rayleigh quotient. Then, we further assume that the imbedding of the Sobolev space W1,2(Ω) into the space L2(Ω) is compact, and we prove the same type of inequalities for the projections onto the eigenspaces upon variation of φ.  相似文献

We consider Schrödinger operators on L2(Rd) with a random potential concentrated near the surface Rd1×{0}⊂Rd. We prove that the integrated density of states of such operators exhibits Lifshits tails near the bottom of the spectrum. From this and the multiscale analysis by Boutet de Monvel and Stollmann [Arch. Math. 80 (2003) 87-97] we infer Anderson localization (pure point spectrum and dynamical localization) for low energies. Our proof of Lifshits tails relies on spectral properties of Schrödinger operators with partially periodic potentials. In particular, we show that the lowest energy band of such operators is parabolic.  相似文献

For second order linear equations and inequalities which are degenerate elliptic but which possess a uniformly elliptic direction, we formulate and prove weak maximum principles which are compatible with a solvability theory in suitably weighted versions of L2-based Sobolev spaces. The operators are not necessarily in divergence form, have terms of lower order, and have low regularity assumptions on the coefficients. The needed weighted Sobolev spaces are, in general, anisotropic spaces defined by a non-negative continuous matrix weight. As preparation, we prove a Poincaré inequality with respect to such matrix weights and analyze the elementary properties of the weighted spaces. Comparisons to known results and examples of operators which are elliptic away from a hyperplane of arbitrary codimension are given. Finally, in the important special case of operators whose principal part is of Grushin type, we apply these results to obtain some spectral theory results such as the existence of a principal eigenvalue.  相似文献

We give a local trace formula for the pair (P1(h)=P0+W(hy),P0), where P0 is a periodic Schrödinger operator, W is a decreasing perturbation and h is a small positive parameter. We apply this result to establish the existence of ∼hn resonances near some energy λ of σ(P0).  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the defocusing, energy-critical Hartree equation with harmonic potential for the radial data in all dimensions (n≥5) and show the global well-posedness and scattering theory in the space Σ=H1FH1. We take advantage of some symmetry of the Hartree nonlinearity to exploit the derivative-like properties of the Galilean operators and obtain the energy control as well. Based on Bourgain and Tao’s approach, we use a localized Morawetz identity to show the global well-posedness. A key decay estimate comes from the linear part of the energy rather than the nonlinear part, which finally helps us to complete the scattering theory.  相似文献

We give an extension of Hua’s inequality in pre-Hilbert C-modules without using convexity or the classical Hua’s inequality. As a consequence, some known and new generalizations of this inequality are deduced. Providing a Jensen inequality in the content of Hilbert C-modules, another extension of Hua’s inequality is obtained. We also present an operator Hua’s inequality, which is equivalent to operator convexity of given continuous real function.  相似文献

For a commutative subspace lattice L in a von Neumann algebra N and a bounded linear map f:NalgLB(H), we show that if Af(B)C=0 for all A,B,CNalgL satisfying AB=BC=0, then f is a generalized derivation. For a unital C-algebra A, a unital Banach A-bimodule M, and a bounded linear map f:AM, we prove that if f(A)B=0 for all A,BA with AB=0, then f is a left multiplier; as a consequence, every bounded local derivation from a C-algebra to a Banach A-bimodule is a derivation. We also show that every local derivation on a semisimple free semigroupoid algebra is a derivation and every local multiplier on a free semigroupoid algebra is a multiplier.  相似文献

We prove that the operator G, the closure of the first-order differential operator −d/dt+D(t) on L2(R,X), is Fredholm if and only if the not well-posed equation u(t)=D(t)u(t), tR, has exponential dichotomies on R+ and R and the ranges of the dichotomy projections form a Fredholm pair; moreover, the index of this pair is equal to the Fredholm index of G. Here X is a Hilbert space, D(t)=A+B(t), A is the generator of a bi-semigroup, B(⋅) is a bounded piecewise strongly continuous operator-valued function. Also, we prove some perturbations results and consider various examples of not well-posed problems.  相似文献

We prove a general optimal Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality by using Prékopa-Leindler inequality and a special Hamilton-Jacobi equation. In particular we generalize the inequality proved by Del Pino and Dolbeault in (J. Funt. Anal.).  相似文献

We study the scattering poles of a compactly supported “black box” perturbations of the Laplacian in Rn, n odd. We prove a sharp upper bound of the counting function N(r) modulo o(rn) in terms of the counting function of the reference operator in the smallest ball around the black box. In the most interesting cases, we prove a bound of the type N(r)?Anrn+o(rn) with an explicit An. We prove that this bound is sharp in a few special spherically symmetric cases where the bound turns into an asymptotic formula.  相似文献

We give an interpolation-free proof of the known fact that a dyadic paraproduct is of Schatten-von Neumann class Sp, if and only if its symbol is in the dyadic Besov space Bpd. Our main tools are a product formula for paraproducts and a “p-John-Nirenberg-Theorem” due to Rochberg and Semmes. We use the same technique to prove a corresponding result for dyadic paraproducts with operator symbols.Using an averaging technique by Petermichl, we retrieve Peller's characterizations of scalar and vector Hankel operators of Schatten-von Neumann class Sp for 1<p<∞. We then employ vector techniques to characterise little Hankel operators of Schatten-von Neumann class, answering a question by Bonami and Peloso.Furthermore, using a bilinear version of our product formula, we obtain characterizations for boundedness, compactness and Schatten class membership of products of dyadic paraproducts.  相似文献

In this paper we estimate the norm of the Moore-Penrose inverse T(a)+ of a Fredholm Toeplitz operator T(a) with a matrix-valued symbol aLN × N defined on the complex unit circle. In particular, we show that in the ”generic case” the strict inequality ||T(a)+|| > ||a−1|| holds. Moreover, we discuss the asymptotic behavior of ||T(tra)+|| for . The results are illustrated by numerical experiments.  相似文献

In [1], Dragomir gave an inequality of Simpson's type for functions whose derivatives belong to Lp spaces. Here, we generalize his results using functions whose nth derivatives, n ∈ {2, 3, 4}, belong to Lp spaces.  相似文献

We study a class of pseudodifferential operators known as time-frequency localization operators, Anti-Wick operators, Gabor-Toeplitz operators or wave packets. Given a symbol a and two windows ?1,?2, we investigate the multilinear mapping from to the localization operator Aa?1,?2 and we give sufficient and necessary conditions for Aa?1,?2 to be bounded or to belong to a Schatten class. Our results are formulated in terms of time-frequency analysis, in particular we use modulation spaces as appropriate classes for symbols and windows.  相似文献

In this paper we develop a theory of parabolic pseudodifferential operators in anisotropic spaces. We construct a symbolic calculus for a class of symbols globally defined on n+1× n+1, and then develop a periodisation procedure for the calculus of symbols on the cylinder ×. We show Gårding's inequality for suitable operators and precise estimates for the essential norm in anisotropic Sobolev spaces. These new mapping properties are needed in localization arguments for the analysis of numerical approximation methods.  相似文献

We prove a Brunn-Minkowski-type inequality for the eigenvalue Λ of the Monge-Ampère operator: Λ-1/2n is concave in the class of domains in Rn endowed with Minkowski addition. The equality case is explicitly described too. The main device of the proof is a notion of addition for convex functions, called infimal convolution, which corresponds to the Minkowski addition of the graphs of the involved functions.  相似文献

We study asymptotic behavior in a class of nonautonomous second order parabolic equations with time periodic unbounded coefficients in R×Rd. Our results generalize and improve asymptotic behavior results for Markov semigroups having an invariant measure. We also study spectral properties of the realization of the parabolic operator u?A(t)uut in suitable Lp spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we study asymptotic behavior of solutions for a free boundary problem modelling tumor growth. We first establish a general result for differential equations in Banach spaces possessing a Lie group action which maps a solution into new solutions. We prove that a center manifold exists under certain assumptions on the spectrum of the linearized operator without assuming that the space in which the equation is defined is of either DA(θ) or DA(θ,∞) type. By using this general result and making delicate analysis of the spectrum of the linearization of the stationary free boundary problem, we prove that if the surface tension coefficient γ is larger than a threshold value γ* then the unique stationary solution is asymptotically stable modulo translations, provided the constant c is sufficiently small, whereas if γ<γ* then this stationary solution is unstable.  相似文献

We generalize the study of symbolic dynamical systems of finite type and 2 action, and the associated use of symbolic substitution dynamical systems, to dynamical systems with 2 action. The new systems are associated with tilings of the plane. We generalize the classical technique of the matrix of a substitution to include the geometrical information needed to study tilings, and we utilize rotation invariance to eliminate discrete spectrum. As an example we prove that the pinwheel tilings have no discrete spectrum.Research supported in part by NSF Grant No. DMS-9304269 and Texas ARP Grant 003658-113  相似文献

On global solution to the Klein-Gordon-Hartree equation below energy space   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for Klein-Gordon equation with a cubic convolution nonlinearity in R3. By making use of Bourgain's method in conjunction with a precise Strichartz estimate of S. Klainerman and D. Tataru, we establish the Hs (s<1) global well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the cubic convolution defocusing Klein-Gordon-Hartree equation. Before arriving at the previously discussed conclusion, we obtain global solution for this non-scaling equation with small initial data in Hs0×Hs0−1 where but not , for this equation that we consider is a subconformal equation in some sense. In doing so a number of nonlinear prior estimates are already established by using Bony's decomposition, flexibility of Klein-Gordon admissible pairs which are slightly different from that of wave equation and a commutator estimate. We establish this commutator estimate by exploiting cancellation property and utilizing Coifman and Meyer multilinear multiplier theorem. As far as we know, it seems that this is the first result on low regularity for this Klein-Gordon-Hartree equation.  相似文献
