We construct conjugate operators for the real part of a completely non-unitary isometry and we give applications to the spectral and scattering theory of a class of operators on (complete) Fock spaces, natural generalizations of the Schrödinger operators on trees. We consider C*-algebras generated by such Hamiltonians with certain types of anisotropy at infinity, we compute their quotient with respect to the ideal of compact operators, and give formulas for the essential spectrum of these Hamiltonians.  相似文献

After the von Neumann's remark [10] about pathologies of unbounded symmetric operators and an abstract theorem about stability domain [9], we develope here a general theory allowing to construct semibounded restrictions of selfadjoint operators in explicit form. We apply this theory to quantum-mechanical momentum (position) operator to describe corresponding stability domains. Generalization to the case of measurable functions of these operators is considered. In conclusion we discuss spectral properties of self-adjoint extensions of constructed self-adjoint restrictions.  相似文献

We present two approaches to the spectral studies for infinite Jacobi matrices with monotonic or near-to-monotonic weights. The first one is based on the subordination theory due to Khan and Pearson [17] combined with the detailed analysis of the transfer matrices for the solutions of the formal eigenequation. The second one uses an extension of the commutator approach developed by Putnam in [19]. Applying these methods we prove the absolute continuity for several classes of weights and diagonals. For some other cases we prove the emptiness of the point spectrum. The results are illustrated with examples and compared with the results of Dombrowski [7]-[13], Clark [2] and of Máté and Nevai [18]. Spectral properties of 1-D Schrödinger operators with local point interactions on a discrete set are well studied when d:=infn,kN|xnxk|>0. Our paper is devoted to the case d=0. We consider HX,α in the framework of extension theory of symmetric operators by applying the technique of boundary triplets and the corresponding Weyl functions.We show that the spectral properties of HX,α like self-adjointness, discreteness, and lower semiboundedness correlate with the corresponding spectral properties of certain classes of Jacobi matrices. Based on this connection, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the operators HX,α to be self-adjoint, lower semibounded, and discrete in the case d=0.The operators with δ-type interactions are investigated too. The obtained results demonstrate that in the case d=0, as distinguished from the case d>0, the spectral properties of the operators with δ- and δ-type interactions are substantially different.  相似文献

It is shown that if A and B are positive operators on a separable complex Hilbert space, then for every unitarily invariant norm. When specialized to the usual operator norm ||·|| and the Schatten p-norms ||·||p, this inequality asserts that and These inequalities improve upon some earlier related inequalities. It is well known that not every summability property for multilinear operators leads to a factorization theorem. In this paper we undertake a detailed study of factorization schemes for summing linear and nonlinear operators. Our aim is to integrate under the same theory a wide family of classes of mappings for which a Pietsch type factorization theorem holds. Our construction includes the cases of absolutely p-summing linear operators, (p, σ)-absolutely continuous linear operators, factorable strongly p-summing multilinear operators, (p1,?. . .?, pn)-dominated multilinear operators and dominated (p1,?. . .?, pn; σ)-continuous multilinear operators.  相似文献

We describe an embedding of a quantum mechanically described structure into a macroscopic flow. The open quantum system is partly driven by an adjacent macroscopic flow acting on the boundary of the bounded spatial domain designated to quantum mechanics. Very few Banach spaces E are known for which the lattice of closed ideals in the Banach algebra of all (bounded, linear) operators on E is fully understood. Indeed, up to now the only such Banach spaces are, up to isomorphism, Hilbert spaces and the sequence spaces c0 and ?p for 1?p<∞. We study cyclicity of operators on a separable Banach space which admit a bicyclic vector such that the norms of its images under the iterates of the operator satisfy certain growth conditions. A simple consequence of our main result is that a bicyclic unitary operator on a Banach space with separable dual is cyclic. Our results also imply that if is the shift operator acting on the weighted space of sequences , if the weight ω satisfies some regularity conditions and ω(n) = 1 for nonnegative n, then S is cyclic if . On the other hand one can see that S is not cyclic if the series diverges. We show that the question of Herrero whether either S or S* is cyclic on admits a positive answer when the series is convergent. We also prove completeness results for translates in certain Banach spaces of functions on .  相似文献

We prove several singular value inequalities and norm inequalities involving sums and direct sums of Hilbert space operators. It is shown, among other inequalities, that if X and Y are compact operators, then the singular values of are dominated by those of X ⊕ Y. Applications of these inequalities are also given.  相似文献
