We prove that if X1,…,Xn (n>1) are self-adjoints in a W-probability space with finite non-microstates free Fisher information, then the von Neumann algebra W(X1,…,Xn) they generate doesn't have property Γ (especially is not amenable). This is an analog of a well-known result of Voiculescu for microstates free entropy. We also prove factoriality under finite non-microstates entropy.  相似文献

Some new oscillation criteria are established for the matrix linear Hamiltonian system X′=A(t)X+B(t)Y, Y′=C(t)X−A∗(t)Y under the hypothesis: A(t), B(t)=B∗(t)>0, and C(t)=C∗(t) are n×n real continuous matrix functions on the interval [t0,∞), (−∞<t0). These results are sharper than some previous results even for self-adjoint second order matrix differential systems.  相似文献

We associate to a pseudomanifold X with an isolated singularity a differentiable groupoid G which plays the role of the tangent space of X. Let A be a separable C∗-algebra and B a stable C∗-algebra containing a strictly positive element. We show that the group Ext−1/2(SA,B) of unitary equivalence classes of extensions of SA by B, modulo the extensions which are asymptotically split, coincides with the group of homotopy classes of such extensions. This is done by proving that the Connes-Higson construction gives rise to an isomorphism between Ext−1/2(SA,B) and the E-theory group E(A,B) of homotopy classes of asymptotic homomorphisms from S2A to B.  相似文献

Suppose that p(XY) = A − BX − X(∗)B(∗) − CYC(∗) and q(XY) = A − BX + X(∗)B(∗) − CYC(∗) are quaternion matrix expressions, where A is persymmetric or perskew-symmetric. We in this paper derive the minimal rank formula of p(XY) with respect to pair of matrices X and Y = Y(∗), and the minimal rank formula of q(XY) with respect to pair of matrices X and Y = −Y(∗). As applications, we establish some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the general (persymmetric or perskew-symmetric) solutions to some well-known linear quaternion matrix equations. The expressions are also given for the corresponding general solutions of the matrix equations when the solvability conditions are satisfied. Let X be a real reflexive Banach space with dual X. Let L:XD(L)→X be densely defined, linear and maximal monotone. Let T:XD(T)→X2, with 0∈D(T) and 0∈T(0), be strongly quasibounded and maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X bounded, demicontinuous and of type (S+) w.r.t. D(L). A new topological degree theory has been developed for the sum L+T+C. This degree theory is an extension of the Berkovits-Mustonen theory (for T=0) and an improvement of the work of Addou and Mermri (for T:XX2 bounded). Unbounded maximal monotone operators with are strongly quasibounded and may be used with the new degree theory.  相似文献

Let X be a topological space. The homology of the iterated loop space HΩnX is an algebra over the homology of the framed n-disks operad HfDn [E. Getzler, Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras and two-dimensional topological field theories, Comm. Math. Phys. 159 (2) (1994) 265-285; P. Salvatore, N. Wahl, Framed discs operads and Batalin-Vilkovisky algebras, Q. J. Math. 54 (2) (2003) 213-231]. We explicitly determine this HfDn-algebra structure on H(ΩnX;Q). We show that the action of H(SO(n)) on the iterated loop space HΩnX is related to the J-homomorphism and that the BV-operator on H(Ω2X) vanishes on spherical classes only in characteristic other than 2.  相似文献

We study the Pettis integral for multi-functions defined on a complete probability space (Ω,Σ,μ) with values into the family cwk(X) of all convex weakly compact non-empty subsets of a separable Banach space X. From the notion of Pettis integrability for such an F studied in the literature one readily infers that if we embed cwk(X) into ?(BX) by means of the mapping defined by j(C)(x)=sup(x(C)), then jF is integrable with respect to a norming subset of B?(BX). A natural question arises: When is jF Pettis integrable? In this paper we answer this question by proving that the Pettis integrability of any cwk(X)-valued function F is equivalent to the Pettis integrability of jF if and only if X has the Schur property that is shown to be equivalent to the fact that cwk(X) is separable when endowed with the Hausdorff distance. We complete the paper with some sufficient conditions (involving stability in Talagrand's sense) that ensure the Pettis integrability of jF for a given Pettis integrable cwk(X)-valued function F.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a new geometry constant D(X) to give a quantitative characterization of the difference between Birkhoff orthogonality and isosceles orthogonality. We show that 1 and is the upper and lower bound for D(X), respectively, and characterize the spaces of which D(X) attains the upper and lower bounds. We calculate D(X) when X=(R2,‖⋅p) and when X is a symmetric Minkowski plane respectively, we show that when X is a symmetric Minkowski plane D(X)=D(X).  相似文献

Let X be an infinite dimensional real reflexive Banach space with dual space X and GX, open and bounded. Assume that X and X are locally uniformly convex. Let T:XD(T)→2X be maximal monotone and strongly quasibounded, S:XD(S)→X maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X strongly quasibounded w.r.t. S and such that it satisfies a generalized (S+)-condition w.r.t. S. Assume that D(S)=LD(T)∩D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X, and 0∈T(0),S(0)=0. A new topological degree theory is introduced for the sum T+S+C, with degree mapping d(T+S+C,G,0). The reason for this development is the creation of a useful tool for the study of a class of time-dependent problems involving three operators. This degree theory is based on a degree theory that was recently developed by Kartsatos and Skrypnik just for the single-valued sum S+C, as above.  相似文献

The representation of dual spaces of EM(μ,X), owing to its extensive application, is given in this paper. Using the representation, we get the sufficient and necessary conditions of LM(μ,X) possessing drop property, and extend the result of Hudzik and Wang [H. Hudzik, B. Wang, Approximative compactness in Orlicz spaces, J. Approx. Theory 95 (1998) 82-89]. Simultaneously, under some conditions, the weak drop property in LM(μ,X) and LM(μ,X) is discussed.  相似文献

Let k be a knot in S3. There is an epimorphism from π1(S3k) onto a free product of two nontrivial cyclic groups sending a meridian to an element of length two iff k has property Q (Topology of Manifolds, Markham, Chicago, IL, 1970, pp. 195-199) that is if there is a closed surface F in S3 containing k, such that k is imprimitive in H1(X) and in H1(Y) where X and Y are the closures of the components of S3F. We give answers to questions of Simon (1970) about properties Q, Q∗ and Q∗∗. Let X be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of normed linear space E (respectively, let X be a nonempty, bounded, closed and convex subset of Banach space E and A be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of X) and f:X×XR be a given function, the uniqueness of equilibrium point for equilibrium problem which is to find xX (respectively, xA) such that f(x,y)≥0 for all yX (respectively, f(x,y)≥0 for all yA) is studied with varying f (respectively, with both varying f and varying A). A Banach space operator TB(X) is said to be totally hereditarily normaloid, TTHN, if every part of T is normaloid and every invertible part of T has a normaloid inverse. The operator T is said to be an H(q) operator for some integer q?1, TH(q), if the quasi-nilpotent part H0(Tλ)=(Tλ)q(0) for every complex number λ. It is proved that if T is algebraically H(q), or T is algebraically THN and X is separable, then f(T) satisfies Weyl's theorem for every function f analytic in an open neighborhood of σ(T), and T satisfies a-Weyl's theorem. If also T has the single valued extension property, then f(T) satisfies a-Weyl's theorem for every analytic function f which is non-constant on the connected components of the open neighborhood of σ(T) on which it is defined.  相似文献

It is shown that every almost linear bijection of a unital C-algebra A onto a unital C-algebra B is a C-algebra isomorphism when h(n2uy)=h(n2u)h(y) for all unitaries uA, all yA, and n=0,1,2,…, and that almost linear continuous bijection of a unital C-algebra A of real rank zero onto a unital C-algebra B is a C-algebra isomorphism when h(n2uy)=h(n2u)h(y) for all , all yA, and n=0,1,2,…. Assume that X and Y are left normed modules over a unital C-algebra A. It is shown that every surjective isometry , satisfying T(0)=0 and T(ux)=uT(x) for all xX and all unitaries uA, is an A-linear isomorphism. This is applied to investigate C-algebra isomorphisms between unital C-algebras.  相似文献

In order to find metric spaces X for which the algebra Lip(X) of bounded Lipschitz functions on X determines the Lipschitz structure of X, we introduce the class of small-determined spaces. We show that this class includes precompact and quasi-convex metric spaces. We obtain several metric characterizations of this property, as well as some other characterizations given in terms of the uniform approximation and the extension of uniformly continuous functions. In particular we show that X is small-determined if and only if every uniformly continuous real function on X can be uniformly approximated by Lipschitz functions.  相似文献

For every Tychonoff space X we denote by Cp(X) the set of all continuous real-valued functions on X with the pointwise convergence topology, i.e., the topology of subspace of RX. A set P is a frame for the space Cp(X) if Cp(X)⊂PRX. We prove that if Cp(X) embeds in a σ-compact space of countable tightness then X is countable. This shows that it is natural to study when Cp(X) has a frame of countable tightness with some compactness-like property. We prove, among other things, that if X is compact and the space Cp(X) has a Lindelöf frame of countable tightness then t(X)?ω. We give some generalizations of this result for the case of frames as well as for embeddings of Cp(X) in arbitrary spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce an alternative form of coarse geometry on proper metric spaces, which is more delicate at infinity than the standard metric coarse structure. There is an assembly map from the K-homology of a space to the K-theory of the C∗-algebra associated to the new coarse structure, which factors through the coarse K-homology of the space (with the new coarse structure). A Dirac-type operator on a complete Riemannian manifold M gives rise to a class in K-homology, and its image under assembly gives a higher index in the K-theory group. The main result of this paper is a vanishing theorem for the index of the Dirac operator on an open spin manifold for which the scalar curvature κ(x) tends to infinity as x tends to infinity. This is derived from a spectral vanishing theorem for any Dirac-type operator with discrete spectrum and finite dimensional eigenspaces.  相似文献
