The conversion of energy between seismic and electromagnetic wave fields has been described by Pride’s coupled equations in porous media. In this paper, the seismoelectric field excited by the explosive point source located at the outside of the borehole is studied. The scattering fields inside and outside a borehole are analyzed and deduced under the boundary conditions at the interface between fluid and porous media. The influences of the distance of the point source, multipole components of the eccentric explosive source, and the receiving position along the axis of vertical borehole, on the converted waves inside the borehole are all investigated. When the distance from the acoustic source to the axis of a borehole is far enough, the longitudinal and coseismic longitudinal wave packets dominate the acoustic and electric field, respectively. The three components of both electric field and magnetic field can be detected, and the radial electric field is mainly excited and converted by the dipole component. Owing to the existence of borehole, the electric fields and magnetic fields in the borehole are azimuthal. The distance from the point where the maximum amplitude of the axial components of electric field is recorded, to the origin of coordinate indicates the horizontal distance from the explosive source to the axis of vertical borehole. 相似文献

The steady state response of an elastic layered plate (laminate) which is subjected to a moving laser source illumination is studied. The response of the laminate is obtained using the transfer matrix approach. The application of the photo-thermal source (laser) to the upper surface of the laminate is formulated as equivalent stresses applied at the illuminated boundary. The equivalent stresses are derived with the use of the causality principle. It is shown that the generated displacement field is sensitive to the variations of the laminate inner structure and also to the variations of the elastic properties of a bonded elastic half-space. 相似文献

Elastic waves excited by a plane piezoelectric source with an arbitrary shape on the surface of a multilayered medium have been studied for the first time in this paper. On the basis of Abzo-zena [Geophys. J. R. Astron. Soc. 58, 91-105 (1979)] and Menke [Geophys. J. R. Astron. Soc. 59, 315-323 (1979)], the propagator matrix for the elastic wave field in multilayered medium is extended from two- to three-dimensional (3D) space. 3D elastic wave field is investigated and the displacement-stress response for the boundary conditions is obtained. The propagation of elastic wave in multilayered media is analyzed in 3D space in the frequency domain. The P-SV and SH modes corresponding to the poles are studied. The excitation and propagation of the modes are analyzed further. It is found that the propagation velocities of the P-SV and SH modes do not depend on the propagation azimuth theta in the plane parallel to the free surface of the multilayered medium while the displacement amplitudes are strongly dependent on the azimuth theta. The directional distribution functions of the modes are independent of the medium parameters and the modes and dependent on the shape and excitation fashion of the source. Finally, as an example, the displacement fields of the P-SV and SH modes excited by a rectangle source are analyzed. The displacement representation and numerical results of the directivity distribution functions for the P-SV and SH modes are obtained. 相似文献

An approach of separating individual wave arrivals for a dipole logging is presented. The branch points are treated as a type
of logarithm and the Riemann surface structure of the multivalued function is studied, that is, the displacement potential
within the borehole. Based on the theoretical analysis, the complex poles contributing to the wave field on various Riemann
sheets are investigated in detail for the case of a fast formation. It is shown that poles on Riemann sheet (0,0) are real
and form branches of modes with dispersion. Mathematically, it is demonstrated that the flexural mode has no cutoff frequency,
which is different from the traditional point of view. Poles on other relevant Riemann sheets are complex and form many branches
on the complex frequency-wavenumber plane. Further investigation on the pole and branch cut contributions indicates that the
vertical branch cut integration method has limitations in separating wave arrivals. By properly taking into account the complex
poles on various Riemann sheets together with branch cut integrations, wave arrivals are separated from the full waveforms
effectively for both the fast and slow formation models. Specially, there are complex poles on Riemann sheet (0,−1) in the
vicinity of the compressional branch cut for a slow formation with a large Poisson’s ratio, which have small imaginary parts
and contribute a lot to the p-wave arrival.

The method of Fourier transforms is used to solve the problem of excitation of longitudinal, transverse, and Rayleigh surface waves by a time-harmonic point source placed in a homogeneous isotropic, perfectly elastic half-space and acting along the normal surface. Expressions for the time-average radiation powers of the aforementioned waves are obtained by the method of radiation reaction without using any approximations. We investigate theoretically and experimentally the capillary-gravity waves created by a small object moving steadily at the water-air interface along a circular trajectory. It is well established that, for straight uniform motion, no steady waves appear at velocities below the minimum phase velocity c(min)=23 cm s(-1). We demonstrate that no such velocity threshold exists for a steady circular motion, for which, even for small velocities, a finite wave drag is experienced by the object. This wave drag originates from the emission of a spiral-like wave pattern. Our results are in good agreement with direct experimental observations of the wave pattern created by a circularly moving needle in contact with water. Our study leads to new insights into the problem of animal locomotion at the water-air interface. 相似文献

An experimental study is made of the process of magnetization of rails by a source of constant, square-shaped, magnetic field in translational motion. The experiments were carried out at velocities from 0 to 25 km/hr. It is shown that the rail magnetization at a given velocity depends entirely on the accompanying magnetic phenomena: the motion hysteresis, the inconsistent stepwise inversions, and the remanent magnetization. 相似文献

采用一种等效移动质量源来模拟有限深密度分层流体中运动物体生成内波的体积效应和旋涡、湍流尾迹激发源,结合内波本征值问题及Fourier变换等方法,建立了计算运动物体生成内波垂向位移场的一种理论模型,提出了确定移动质量源速度、回转直径及长度的具体方法.利用该理论模型,对一类典型密度分层流体中运动球生成内波的波系与波形结构,以及波高特征等进行了数值模拟与分析,结果与Robey实验结果符合良好,表明了所建立理论模型的合理与有效性.

The diffraction of a spherical acoustic wave generated by a point source from impedance slit in a moving fluid is investigated. The diffracted wave is calculated in the far field regime as a sum of fields produced by the edges of the slit and an incident field. The Myers’ impedance conditions are assumed along the edges of the slit. Such conditions are well adopted for the boundaries of the impedance barriers and yield reliable predictions of the diffraction patterns. A Wiener–Hopf technique is invoked to resolve the problem in combination with Fourier transform techniques and asymptotic analysis. The appositeness of the results and the effect of pertinent physical parameters on the separated field are presented and analyzed graphically. 相似文献
