In order to study the effect of conformational changes in electron-transfer reactions of Co(III)–polymer complexes, cis-[Co(III)(en)2LCl]Cl2, where the ligand L is PVI(poly-N-vinyl-2-methylimidazole) or NEI (N-ethylimidazole), was prepared. Electrontransfer reactions with ferrous sulfate or FeEDTA2? were examined mainly with respect to the effects of the degree of coordination, ionic strength, composition of reaction solvent, in relation to the conformational changes. In the reduction by FeEDTA2?, an increase in the degree of coordination of Co(III)–PVI brought about an extreme increase in its reactivity, while it was almost unity in the reduction by ferrous sulfate. With an increase in the ionic strength, the reactivity decreased due to the electrostatic shielding in the reduction by FeEDTA2?. It was noticed that the reaction of Co(III)–PVI was much more enthalpically disadvantageous due to the shrinkage of the polymer chain than that of Co(III)–NEI, when neutral salts were added. In an aqueous alcoholic solvent, an increase in the alcohol concentration accelerated the reaction with FeEDTA2?, and especially in the reaction of Co(III)-PVI, the maximum and minimum points of the reactivity were observed. On increasing the reaction temperature, the maximum and minimum points shifted to lower alcohol concentration. These phenomena are discussed in regard to the conformational changes of Co(III)–PVI.  相似文献

The precursors [Fe(III)(SYL)Cl] (SYLH2) = N,N′-bis(1-hydroxy-Y-2-benzyliden)-1,6-diamino-3-thiohexane, (Y = H, 3EtO, 5Me) are high-spin (S = 5/2) complexes. The precursors are combined with [Fe(II)(CN)6]4− and [Co(III)(CN)6]3− to yield star-shaped heptanuclear clusters, [Fe(II)(CN–Fe(III)SYL)6]Cl2 and [Co(III)(CN–Fe(III)SYL)6]Cl3. The star-shaped compounds are high-spin (HS) systems at room temperature. On cooling to 20 K some of the iron(III) centers perform some HS–HS transition.  相似文献

The electrocarboxylation of chloroacetonitrile mediated by [Co(II)(phen)3]2+ has been investigated. Cyclic voltammetry studies of [Co(II)(phen)3]2+ have shown that [Co(I)(phen)3]+, an 18 electron complex, activates chloroacetonitrile by an oxidative addition through the loss of a phenanthroline ligand to give [RCo(III)(phen)2Cl]+. The unstable one-electron-reduced complex underwent Co–C bond cleavage. In carbon dioxide saturated solution, CO2 insertion proceeds after reduction of the alkylcobalt complex. A catalytic current is observed which corresponds to the electrocarboxylation of chloroacetonitrile into cyanoacetic acid. Electrolyses confirmed the process and gave faradic yield of 62% in cyanoacetic acid at potentials that are about 0.3 V less cathodic than the one required for Ni(salen).  相似文献

In a stirred batch reaction, Fe(phen)32+ ion behaves differently from Ce(III) or Mn(II) ion in catalyzing the bromate‐driven oscillating reaction with ethyl hydrogen malonate [CH2COOHCOOEt, ethyl hydrogen malonate (EHM)]. The effects of N2 atmosphere, concentrations of bromate ion, EHM, metal ion catalyst, sulfuric acid, and additive (bromide ion or bromomalonic acid) on the pattern of oscillations were investigated. The kinetic study of the reaction of EHM with Ce(IV), Mn(III), or Fe(phen)33+ ion indicates that under aerobic or anaerobic conditions the order of reactivity toward reacting with EHM is Mn(III) > Ce(IV) ≫ Fe(phen)33+, which follows the same trend as that of the malonic acid system. The presence of the ester group in EHM lowers the reactivity of the two methylene hydrogen atoms toward bromination or oxidation by Ce(IV), Mn(III), or Fe(phen)33+ ion. No good oscillations were observed for the BrO3−‐CH2(COOEt)2 reaction catalyzed by Ce(III), Mn(II), or Fe(phen)32+ ion. A discussion of the effects of oxygen on the reactions of malonic acid and its derivatives (RCHCOOHCOOR′) with Ce(IV), Mn(III), or Fe(phen)33+ ion is also presented. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A new Schiff base ligand (HL) was prepared via a condensation reaction of quinoline‐2‐carboxaldhyde with 2‐aminophenol in a molar ratio of 1:1. Its transition metal mixed ligand complexes with 1,10‐phenanthroline (1,10‐phen) as co‐ligand were also synthesized in a 1:1:1 ratio. HL and its mixed ligand complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, infrared, 1H NMR, mass and UV–visible spectroscopies, molar conductance, magnetic measurements, solid reflectance, thermal analysis, electron spin resonance and X‐ray diffraction. Molar conductance measurements showed that all complexes have an electrolytic nature, except Cd(II) complex. From elemental and spectral data, the formulae [M(L)(1,10‐phen)(H2O)]Clx?nH2O (where M = Cr(III) (x = n = 2), Mn(II) and Ni(II) (x = 1, n = 2), Fe(III) (x = n = 2), Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) (x = 1, n = 2)) and [Cd(L)(1,10‐phen)Cl]?3H2O for the metal complexes have been proposed. The geometric structures of complexes were found to be octahedral. Powder X‐ray diffraction reflected the crystalline nature of the complexes; however, the Schiff base is amorphous. HL and its mixed ligand complexes were screened against Gram‐positive bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae and Bacillus subtilis) and Gram‐negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli). Antifungal activity was determined against Aspergillus fumigatus and Candida albicans, the data showing that most complexes had activity less than that of the Schiff base while Mn(II), Fe(III) and Ni(II) complexes showed no significant antifungal activity. The anticancer activity of HL and its metal complexes was also studied against breast and colon cell lines. The metal complexes showed IC50 higher than that of HL, especially the Cu(II) complex which showed the highest IC50 against breast cell line.  相似文献

A chiral coordination compound {(Δ)[Fe(II)(phen)3][(Δ)Fe(III)(C2O4)3](NH4)(H2O)3(DMF)}n (phen = 1,10‐phenanthroline), (DMF = N,N'‐Dimethylformamide), has been synthesized, and the structure has been revealed by infrared spectroscopy and X‐ray single‐crystal diffraction. The framework consists of two chiral subunits. One subunit (Δ)[(Fe(III)(C2O4)3]3? which as host anion forms a chiral porous three‐dimensional supermolecular network with lattice water, lattice DMF and lattice ammonium cation through hydrogen bonds. And then the other is Δ[Fe(II)(phen)3]2+ which as guest cation fills in the chiral cavity located in the previously mentioned host porous network.  相似文献

A family of three mixed-ligand osmium complexes of type [Os(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2], where N-N=2,2′-bipyridine (bpy), 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine (Me2bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes are diamagnetic (low-spin d6, S=0) and in dichloromethane solution they show intense MLCT transitions in the visible region. The two bromide ligands have been replaced from the coordination sphere of [Os(PPh3)2(phen)Br2] under mild conditions by a series of anionic ligands L (where L=quinolin-8-olate (q), picolinate (pic), oxalate (Hox) and 1-nitroso-2-naphtholate (nn)) to afford complexes of type [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+, which have been isolated and characterized as the perchlorate salt. The structure of the [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(pic)]ClO4 complex has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The PPh3 ligands occupy trans positions and the picolinate anion is coordinated to osmium as a bidentate N,O-donor forming a five-membered chelate ring. The [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+ complexes are diamagnetic and show multiple MLCT transitions in the visible region. The [Os(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2] complexes show an osmium(II)–osmium(III) oxidation (−0.02 to 0.12 V vs. SCE) followed by an osmium(III)–osmium(IV) oxidation (1.31 to 1.43 V vs. SCE). The [Os(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]+ complexes display the osmium (II)–osmium (III) oxidation (0.26 to 0.84 V vs. SCE) and one reduction of phen (−1.50 to −1.79 V vs. SCE). The osmium (III)–osmium (IV) oxidation has been observed only for the L=q and L=Hox complexes at 1.38 V vs. SCE and 1.42 V vs. SCE respectively. The osmium(III) species, viz. [OsIII(PPh3)2(N-N)Br2]+ and [OsIII(PPh3)2(phen)(L)]2+, have been generated both chemically and electrochemically and characterized in solution by electronic spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Polymer complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Cr(III) and Cd(II) were prepared by the reaction of 3‐allyl‐5‐[(4‐nitrophenylazo)]‐2‐thioxothiazolidine‐4‐one (HL) with metal ions. The structure of polymer complexes was characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV–Vis spectra, X‐ray diffraction analysis, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity measurements and thermal analysis. Reaction of HL with Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Cr(III) and Cd(II) ions (acetate or chloride) give polymer complexes ( 1–5 ) with general stoichiometric [M(L)(O2CCH3)(H2O)2]n (where L = anionic of HL and M = Co(II) (1) or Ni(II) (2) ), [Mn(HL)2(OCOCH3)2]n (3) , [Cr(L)2(Cl)(H2O)]n (4) and [Cd(HL)(O2CCH3)2]n (5) . The value of HOMO–LUMO energy gap (ΔE) for forms (A‐C) of monomer (HL) is 2.529, 2.296 and 2.235 eV, respectively. According to ΔE value, compound has minimum ΔE is the more stable, so keto hydrazone form (C) is more stable than the other forms (azo keto form (A), azo enol form (B)). The interaction between HL, polymer complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Cr(III) and Cd(II) with Calf thymus DNA showed hypochromism effect. The HL and its polymer complexes were tested against some bacterial and fungal species. The results showed that the Cr(III) polymer complex (4) has more antibacterial activity than HL and polymer complexes (1–3 and 5) against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhimurium.  相似文献

The surfactantCo(III) complexes of the type cis-[Co(en)2AX]2+ (A?=?Tetradecylamine, X?=?Cl?,?Br?) were synthesised from corresponding dihalogeno complexes by the ligand substitution method. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) values of these surfactant complexes in aqueous solution were obtained from conductance measurements. The kinetics and mechanism of iron(II) reduction of surfactantCo(III) complexes, cis-[Co(en)2(C14H29NH2)Cl](ClO4)2 and cis-[Co(en)2(C14H29NH2)Br] (ClO4)2 ions were studied spectrophotometrically in an aqueous acid medium by following the disappearance of Co(III) using an excess of the reductant under pseudo-first-order conditions: [Fe(II)]?=?0.25?mol?dm?3, [H+]?=?0.1?mol?dm?3, [μ]?=?1.0?mol?dm?3 ionic strength in a nitrogen atmosphere at 303, 308 and 313?K. The reaction was found to be of second order and showed acid independence in the range [H+]?=?0.05–0.25?mol?dm?3. The second-order rate constant increased with surfactant–Co(III) concentration and the presence of aggregation of the complex itself altered the reaction rate. The effects of [Fe(II)], [H+] and [μ] on the rate were determined. Activation and thermodynamic parameters were computed. It is suggested that the reaction of [Fe(II)] with Co(III) complex proceeds by an inner-sphere mechanism.  相似文献

[Bis(3-(2-pyridyl)-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine)(2,2′-bipyridine)iron(II)], [Fe(PDT)2(bpy)]2+ (1), [bis(3-(4-phenyl-2-pyridyl)-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine)(2,2′-bipyridine)iron(II)], [Fe(PPDT)2(bpy)]2+ (2), [bis(2,2′-bipyridine)(3-(2-pyridyl)-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine)iron(II)], [Fe(PDT)(bpy)2]2+ (3), and [bis(2,2′-bipyridine)(3-(4-phenyl-2-pyridyl)-5,6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine)iron(II)], [Fe(PPDT)(bpy)2]2+ (4) have been synthesized and characterized. Substitution of the triazine and bipyridine ligands from the complexes by nucleophiles (nu), namely 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and 2,2′,6,2″-terpyridine (terpy) was studied in a sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer over the pH range 3–6 at 25, 35, and 45°C under pseudo-first order conditions. Reactions are first order in the concentration of complexes 14. The reaction rates increase with increasing [nu] and pH whereas ionic strength has no effect on the rate. Straight-line plots with positive slopes are observed when the kobs values are plotted against [nu] or 1/[H+]. The substitution reactions proceed by dissociative as well as associative paths and the latter path is predominant. Observed low Ea values and negative ΔS# values support the dominance of the associative path. Phenyl groups on the triazine ring modulate the reactivity of the complexes. The π-electron cloud on the phenyl rings stabilizes the charge on metal center by inductive donation of electrons toward the metal center, resulting in a decrease in reactivity of the complex and the order is 1 < 2 < 3 < 4. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations also support the interpretations drawn from the kinetic data.  相似文献

Examined in this study is the kinetics of a net 2e transfer between [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(H2O)2]4+ ( 1 ) and its hydrolytic derivatives [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(H2O)(OH)]3+ ( 2 ) and [Fe2(μ‐O)(phen)4(OH)2]2+ ( 3 ) with in aqueous media and in presence of excess 1,10‐phenanthroline (phen). The reaction is quantitative with a 1 : 1 stoichiometry between the oxidant and reductant to produce ferroin ([Fe(phen)3]2+) and . The order of reactivity of the oxidant species is 1 > 2 > 3 , in agreement with the progressive cationic charge reduction. The reactions appear to be inner‐sphere where the initial one‐electron proton‐coupled redox (1e, 1H+; electroprotic) seems to be rate‐determining.  相似文献

The Cr (III), Mn (II), Fe (III), Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II) and Cd (II) complexes were prepared by reaction of its metal chlorides with new azo-dye ligand (H2L). The ligand derived from 4,4′-oxydianiline and 2-amino-4-chlorophenol was synthesized in a 1:2 molar ratio. The structure of the ligand and its metal complexes was investigated using different tools such as elemental analysis (C, H, N and M), molar conductivity, IR, UV–vis, 1H-NMR, mass spectrometry and thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric studies. The data showed that the ligand acted as a N,N,O,O-binegative tetradentate ligand. All metal complexes had a octahedral structure as depicted by spectral and elemental analyses. The conductivity data showed the electrolytic nature of the Cr (III) and Fe (III) complexes while the other complexes were nonelectrolytes. Thermal analysis studies showed the decomposition of the complexes in four to five steps with the weight loss of hydrated water in the first decomposition step followed by the coordinated water and ligand molecules. Biological activity was tested for the prepared compounds against four bacterial species (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and against two fungal species (Aspergillus fumigatus and Candida albicans). Also, all complexes were screened for anticancer activities against a breast cancer (MCF-7) cell line. The [Co(L)(H2O)2] complex showed the lowest IC50 value. Molecular docking is a key tool in computer drug design. Therefore, investigation of protein receptors and ligand interaction plays a vital role in the design of structurally based drugs. As a result, docking studies were investigated for H2L ligand, [Mn(L)(H2O)2] and [Ni(L)(H2O)2] complexes with 5KBC, 3V7B and 4G9M receptors.  相似文献

Four linear trinuclear transition metal complexes have been prepared and characterized. The complexes [MII(MeOH)4][FeIII(L)2]2·2MeOH (M = Fe (1) or Ni (2)), [CoII(EtOH)2(H2O)2][FeIII(L)2]2·2EtOH (3), and [MnII(phen)2][MnIII(L)2]2·4MeOH (4) (H2L = ((2-carboxyphenyl)azo)-benzaldoxime, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) possesses a similar synanti carboxylate-bridged structure. The terminal Fe(III) or Mn(III) ions are low spin, and the central M(II) ions are high spin. Magnetic measurements show that antiferromagnetic interactions were present between the adjacent metal ions via the synanti carboxylate bridges. The antiferromagnetic coupling between low-spin Fe(III) and Ni(II) is unusual, which has been tentatively assigned to the structural distortion of Fe(III).  相似文献

Lead(II) 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenyl-1,3-butandionate (TFPB?) complexes with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bipy), [Pb(L)(TFPB)2], have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR-, 1H NMR spectroscopy and studied by X-ray crystallography. The self-assembly of [Pb(L)(TFPB)2] complexes, (L?=?phen or 2,2′-bipy) is caused by CH?···?F–C, C–H?···?O–C and π–π stacking interactions. The thermal stabilities of compounds were studied by thermal gravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA).  相似文献

The Ce(III)‐, Mn(II)‐, or ferroin (Fe(phen)32+)‐catalyzed reaction of bromate ion and pyruvic acid (PA) or its dimer exhibits oscillatory behavior. Both the open‐chain dimer (parapyruvic acid, γ‐methyl‐γ‐hydroxyl‐α‐keto‐glutaric acid, DPA1) and the cyclic‐form dimer (α‐keto‐γ‐valerolactone‐γ‐carboxylic acid, DPA2) show more sustained oscillations than PA monomer. Ferroin behaves differently from Ce(III) or Mn(II) ion in catalyzing these oscillating systems. The kinetics of reactions of PA, 3‐brompyruvic acid (BrPA), DPA1, or DPA2 with Ce(IV), Mn(III), Fe(phen)33+ ion were investigated. The order of relative reactivity of pyruvic acids toward reaction with Ce(IV), Mn(III), or Fe(phen)33+ ion is DPA2 > DPA1 > BrPA > PA and that of metal ions toward reaction with pyruvic acids is Mn(III) > Ce(IV) > Fe(phen)33+. The rates of bromination reactions of pyruvic acids are independent of the concentration of bromine and the order of reactivity toward bromination is (DPA1, DPA2) > BrPA > PA. Experimental results are rationalized. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 32: 408–418, 2000  相似文献

Two dinuclear Fe(III) metal–organic complexes with tetracarboxylate and chelating N-donor ligands, [Fe(Hbtec)(phen)(H2O)]2·2H2O (1) and [Fe(Hbtec)(bpy)(H2O)]2·2H2O (2) (H4btec = 1,2,3,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopic, and X-ray diffraction methods. Both complexes crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/c with two Fe(III) ions bridged by two Hbtec3? ligands into a dinuclear unit. Hydrogen bonding connects the dinuclear units into a 3-D framework. The dinuclear units are 10-connected nodes that produce a 3-D framework with topology Schläfli symbol as (312·428·55). Thermal stabilities and luminescent properties of the two complexes have also been investigated.  相似文献

A new cyanide-bridged heterobimetallic Fe(III)–Mn(II) complex {[MnL][FebpdBrb]} [FebpdBrb]n· 2nH2O has been synthesized by using pyridinecarboxamide trans-dicyanideiron as the building block. The X-ray diffraction analysis has revealed the one-dimensional infinite structure of the complex consisting of the alternating [Mn(L)]2+ and [Fe(bpdBrb)(CN)2] units forming a cyanide-bridged cationic polymeric chain, with [Fe(bpdBrb)(CN)2] as the free anions. The antiferromagnetic coupling between the neighboring Fe(III) and Mn(II) ions through the bridging cyanide group has been revealed. The magnetic coupling constant has been determined as of J =–3.17 cm–1.  相似文献

The effect of the ion-pairing of Co(III) complexes with p-sulfonatothiacalix[4]arene (STCA) on Fe(II)–Co(III) electron transfer rate was evaluated from the analysis and comparison of kinetic data in double Co(III)–Fe(II) and triple Co(III)–Fe(II)—STCA systems at various concentration conditions. Complexes [Co(en)3]3+(1), [Co(en)2ox]+(2), [Co(dipy)3]3+ (3), [Co(His)2]+(4) and [Fe(CN)6]4− were chosen as Co(III) and Fe(II) compounds. The effect of STCA was found to correlate with the association mode. The outer-sphere association with STCA was found to exhibit the insignificant effect on Fe(II)–Co(III) electron transfer k et constants for complexes 3 and 4 with bulky and rigid chelate rings, while more sufficient inclusion of flexible ethylendiaminate rings of 1 and 2 into the cavity of STCA results in the unusual increase of k et.  相似文献

Three new copper(II) complexes with isonicotinic acid N-oxide (HL) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as ligands, [Cu(L)(phen)(H2O)]2(NO3)2···2H2O (1), [Cu(L)(phen)(H2O)]2(ClO4)2···2H2O (2), and [Cu(L)(phen)Br]2- [Cu(L)(phen)(H2O)]2Br2···6H2O (3) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The structures of all three complexes feature a Cu2 dimer formed by two Cu(II) ions interconnected by two bridging ligands. Each copper(II) ion has a distorted square pyramidal coordination geometry with elongated axial coordination by an aqua ligand or halogen anion. The isonicotinic acid N-oxide anion is bidentate, being coordinated to two Cu(II) ions through its N-O oxygen and one of its carboxylate oxygen atoms. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show a Curie–Weiss paramagnetic behavior characteristic of one unpaired electron for a copper(II) ion for all three complexes.  相似文献

A novel bidentate Schiff base ligand (HL, Nanobidentate Ferrocene based Schiff base ligand L (has one replaceable proton H)) was prepared via the condensation of 2‐amino phenol with 2‐acetyl ferrocene. The ligand was characterized using elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, 1proton nuclear magnetic resonance (H‐NMR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermal analysis. The corresponding 1:1 metal complexes with some transition‐metal ions were additionally characterized by their elemental analysis, molar conductance, SEM, and thermogravimetric ana1ysis (TGA). The complexes had the general formula [M(L)(Cl)(H2O)3]xCl·nH2O (M = Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)), (x = 0 for Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II), x = 1 for Cr(III) and Fe(III)), (n = 1 for Cr(III), n = 3 for Mn(II) and Co(II), n = 4 for Fe(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)). Density functional theory calculations on the HL ligand were also carried out in order to clarify molecular structures by the B31YP exchange‐correlation function. The results were subjected to molecular orbital diagram, highest occupied mo1ecu1ar orbital–lowest occupied molecular orbital, and molecular electrostatic potential calculations. The parent Schiff base and its eight metal complexes were assayed against four bacterial species (two Gram‐negative and two‐Gram positive) and four different antifungal species. The HL ligand was docked using molecular operating environment 2008 with crystal structures of oxidoreductase (1CX2), protein phosphatase of the fungus Candida albicans (5JPE), Gram(?) bacteria Escherichia coli (3T88), Gram(+) bacteria Staphylococcus aureus (3Q8U), and an androgen‐independent receptor of prostate cancer (1GS4). In order to assess cytotoxic nature of the prepared HL ligand and its complexes, the compounds were screened against the Michigan cancer foundation (MCF)‐7 breast cancer cell line, and the IC50 values of compounds were calculated.  相似文献
