Four mononuclear Cu(I) complexes of 2-(2'-pyridyl)benzimidazolylbenzene (pbb) with four different ancillary phosphine ligands PPh(3), bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether (DPEphos), bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe), and bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)diphenylborate (DPPMB) have been synthesized. The crystal structures of [Cu(pbb)(PPh(3))(2)][BF(4)] (1), [Cu(pbb)(dppe)][BF(4)] (2), [Cu(pbb)(DPEphos)][BF(4)] (3), and the neutral complex [Cu(pbb)(DPPMB)] (4) were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. The impact of the phosphine ligands on the structures of the copper(I) complexes was examined, revealing that the most significant impact of the phosphine ligands is on the P-Cu-P bond angle. The electronic and photophysical properties of the new complexes were examined by using UV-vis, fluorescence, and phosphorescence spectroscopies and electrochemical analysis. All four complexes display a weak MLCT absorption band that varies considerably with the phosphine ligand. At ambient temperature, no emission was observed for any of the complexes in solution. However, when doped into PMMA polymer (20 wt %), at ambient temperature, all four complexes emit light with a color ranging from green to red-orange, depending on the phosphine ligand. The emission of the new copper complexes has an exceptionally long decay lifetime (>200 micros). Ab initio MO calculations established that the lowest electronic transition in the copper(I) complexes is MLCT in nature. The electronic and photophysical properties of the new mononuclear Cu(I) complexes were compared with those of the corresponding polynuclear Cu(I) complexes based on the 2-(2'-dipyridyl)benzimidazolyl derivative ligands and the previously extensively studied phenanthroline-based Cu(I) complexes.  相似文献

Abstract

Bis chelate complexes of Cu(II) and Zn(II) were synthesized with methylamine and ethylamine Schiff base derivatiies of 2-acetylpyrrole. Stable complexes were obtained, with the exception of the Cu(II) ethylamine adduct. which slowly hydrolyzed in air to yield a mixed ligand product containing one ethylamine Schiff base and one 2-acetylpyrrole per metal centre. The instability of the bis Cu(II) ethylamine Schiff base complex with respect to stable Cu(II) methylamine and Zn(1I) ethylamine complexes is discussed.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes with the tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPMA) ligand were synthesized and characterized to examine the effect of counteranions (Br(-), ClO(4)(-), and BPh(4)(-)), as well as auxiliary ligands (CH(3)CN, 4,4'-dipyridyl, and PPh(3)) on the molecular structures in both solid state and solution. Partial dissociation of one of the pyridyl arms in TPMA was not observed when small auxiliary ligands such as CH(3)CN or Br(-) were coordinated to copper(I), but was found to occur with larger ones such as PPh(3) or 4,4'-dipyridyl. All complexes were found to adopt a distorted tetrahedral geometry, with the exception of [Cu(I)(TPMA)][BPh(4)], which was found to be trigonal pyramidal because of stabilization via a long cuprophilic interaction with a bond length of 2.8323(12) ?. Copper(II) complexes with the general formula [Cu(II)(TPMA)X][Y] (X = Cl(-), Br(-) and Y = ClO(4)(-), BPh(4)(-)) were also synthesized to examine the effect of different counterions on the geometry of [Cu(II)(TPMA)X](+) cation, and were found to be isostructural with previously reported [Cu(II)(TPMA)X][X] (X = Cl(-) or Br(-)) complexes.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes with tripodal nitrogen-containing neutral ligands such as tris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane (L1') and tris(3-tertiary-butyl-5-isopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane (L3'), and with corresponding anionic ligands such as hydrotris(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate (L1-) and hydrotris(3-tertiary-butyl-5-isopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)borate (L3-) were synthesized and structurally characterized. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L1')Cl] (1), [Cu(L1')(OClO3)] (2), [Cu(L1')(NCMe)](PF6) (3a), [Cu(L1')(NCMe)](ClO4) (3b), [Cu(L1')(CO)](PF6) (4a), and [Cu(L1')(CO)](ClO4) (4b) were prepared using the ligand L1'. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L3')Cl] (5) and [Cu(L3')(NCMe)](PF6) (6) with the ligand L3' were also synthesized. Copper(I) complexes [Cu(L1)(NCMe)] (7) and [Cu(L1)(CO)] (8) were prepared using the anionic ligand L1-. Finally, copper(I) complexes with anionic ligand L3- and acetonitrile (9) and carbon monoxide (10) were synthesized. The complexes obtained were fully characterized by IR, far-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structures of both ligands, L1' and L3', and of complexes 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7, and 10 were determined by X-ray crystallography. The effects of the differences in (a) the fourth ligand and the counteranion, (b) the steric hindrance at the third position of the pyrazolyl rings, and most importantly, (c) the charge of the N3 type ligands, on the structures, spectroscopic properties, and reactivities of the copper(I) complexes are discussed. The observed differences in the reactivities toward O2 of the copper(I) acetonitrile complexes are traced back to differences in the oxidation potentials determined by cyclic voltammetry. A special focus is set on the carbonyl complexes, where the 13C NMR and vibrational data are presented. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are used to shed light on the differences in CO bonding in the compounds with neutral and anionic N3 ligands. In correlation with the vibrational and electrochemical data of these complexes, it is demonstrated that the C-O stretching vibration is a sensitive probe for the "electron richness" of copper(I) in these compounds.  相似文献

Neutral mononuclear Cu(I) complexes and their counterparts with counterion, i.e. Cu(qbm)(PPh(3))(2), Cu(qbm)(DPEphos), [Cu(Hqbm)(PPh(3))(2)](BF(4)) and [Cu(Hqbm)(DPEphos)](BF(4)), where Hqbm = 2-(2'-quinolyl)benzimidazole, DPEphos = bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]ether, have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray structure analyses. All of the four complexes in solid state exhibit a strong phosphorescence band in the orange spectral region at room temperature. The photophysical properties of these complexes in both methylene chloride solution and poly(methyl methacrylate) film have been studied. Compared to the related cationic complexes, the neutral ones show blue-shifted emissions and longer lifetimes that can be attributed to the additional ligand-centered π-π* transition beside traditional metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (MLCT). By doping these complexes in N-(4-(carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)-3,6-bis(carbazol-9-yl) carbazole (TCCz), multilayer organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) were fabricated with the device structure of ITO/PEDOT/TCCz: Cu(I) (10 wt%)/BCP/Alq(3)/LiF/Al. The neutral complex Cu(qbm)(DPEphos) exhibits a higher current efficiency, up to 8.87 cd A(-1), than that (5.58 cd A(-1)) of its counterpart [Cu(Hqbm)(DPEphos)](BF(4)).  相似文献

Two new copper(I) halide complexes bearing 2-(2-benzimidazolyl)-6-methylpyridine(Hbmp) and PPh3 ligands, Cu(Hbmp)(PPh3)X(X = Br(1);I(2)),have been synthesized and characterized.Single-crystal X-ray structure analysis reveals that the halide ligand has a significant impact on the Cu-Npyridyl bond lengths.Complexes 1 and 2 show the solid-state emissions at ambient temperature, varying with the halide bound to the {Cu(Hbmp)(PPh3)} motif, which are perhaps best attributed to the metal-to-ligand charge-transfer(Cu(I)→Hbmp) transition mixed with some ligand-to-ligand charge-transfer(X and PPh3→Hbmp) character.  相似文献

Thiophene-2-thiocarboxylate complexes of Cu(I), [(Ph(3)P)(2)Cu(SCOth)] (1) and H[(Ph(3)P)(2)Cu(SCOth)(2)] (2) (where th = thiophene) were synthesized and characterized structurally by X-ray crystallography. Electronic absorption and emission spectral properties of the two compounds have been studied. Cu(II) complexes, [(TMEDA)Cu(SCOth)(2)] (3b) and [(Phen)Cu(SCOth)(2)] (4a) (where TMEDA = tetramethylethylenediamine; Phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) were prepared and characterized by spectroscopic measurements. 3b and 4a underwent desulfurization under ambient conditions readily yielding the corresponding carboxylate complexes [(TMEDA)Cu(O(2)Cth)(2)] (3a) and [(Phen)Cu(O(2)Cth)(2)·H(2)O] (4b). 3a and 4b have been characterized crystallographically.  相似文献

The new bis(ferrocene)-cyclam macrocycle 1,8-bis(ferrocenylmethyl)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, denoted L, has been synthesized. Two Cu(II) complexes with L have been isolated and characterized from X-ray structure determination and electrochemical studies. These two LCu(II) complexes correspond to the type I (ferrocenyl subunits in the same side of the cyclam plane) and type III (ferrocenyl subunits above and below the cyclam plane) isomers. The type I LCu(II) complex was synthesized from L and a Cu(2+) salt, while the type III isomer was obtained by oxidation in air or by comproportionation of the Cu(I) complex. The interconversion between type I and type III LCu(II) complexes is negligible in acetonitrile and slow in dimethyl sulfoxide but fast via an electrochemical reduction-reoxidation cycle. According to UV-vis and electrochemical characterizations, the type III isomer is thermodynamically more stable and the type I isomer is kinetically favored. A type III LNi(II) complex was also isolated and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis and from electrochemical studies.  相似文献

A new ligand, 2-(2-methoxynaphthyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline(mnipH), was synthesized by the condensation of 2-methoxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 5,6-diamino-1,10-phenanthroline. Then three ionic copper(I) complexes were obtained through the reactions of [Cu(MeCN)_4]ClO_4, mnipH and the chelating diphosphine ligands with a molar ratio of 1:1:1. The photoluminescence and the corresponding luminescent mechanism of all copper(I) complexes in the solid state were investigated at room temperature.  相似文献

Copper(I) chloro complexes were synthesized with a family of ligands, HL(R) [HL(R) = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide, R = null; 2-phenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide, R = Ph; 2,2-dimethyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)propionamide, R = Me3; 2,2,2-triphenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide, R = Ph3)]. Five complexes were synthesized from the respective ligand and cuprous chloride: [Cu(HL)Cl]n (1), [Cu2(HL)4Cl2] (2), [Cu2(HL(Ph))2(CH3CN)2Cl2] (3), [Cu2(HL(Ph)3)2Cl2] (4), and [Cu(HL(Me)3)2Cl] (5). X-ray crystal structures reveal that for all complexes the ligands coordinate to the Cu in a monodentate fashion, and inter- or intramolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions formed between the amide NH group and either amide C=O or chloro groups stabilize these complexes in the solid state and strongly influence the structures formed. Complexes 1-5 display a range of structural motifs, depending on the size of the ligand substituent groups, hydrogen bonding, and the stoichiometry of the starting materials, including a one-dimensional coordination polymer chain (1) and binuclear (2-4) or mononuclear (5) structures.  相似文献

A novel set of stereochemically nonrigid monomeric two-coordinate copper(I) complexes, [Cu(eta(1)-H(2)CPz'(2))(2)]ClO(4) 1, [Cu(HPz')(2)]ClO(4) 2, and [Cu(HPz')(eta(1)-H(2)CPz'(2))]ClO(4) 3, where Pz' = 3,5-di-tert-butylpyrazolyl, has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction and variable-temperature (1)H NMR spectroscopy. Based on the (1)H NMR line shape analysis of complexes 1 and 2, the intramolecular fluxional process was proposed for these two-coordinate copper(I) complexes. Also, the mixed ligand complex 3 shows that these two different dynamic binding modes of the coordinated HPz' and H(2)CPz'(2) ligands can proceed simultaneously on a single copper(I) ion.  相似文献

Mixed-ligand Cu(I) complexes containing phosphinesulfide ligands were synthesized, and the structure and emission properties were studied for the Cu(I) complexes. X-ray crystallographic study showed that a chelating phosphinesulfide and diimine are coordinated to Cu(I) center. Coordination geometry around Cu(I) center of each complex is described as a distorted tetrahedron. Some of the complexes show photoluminescence in the solid state.  相似文献

Self-assembly of four bis(pyridyl) ligands with longer flexible spacer: 1,4-bis(3-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L1), 1,4-bis(2-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L2), 1,3-bis(3-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L3) and 1,3-bis(2-pyridylaminomethyl)benzene (L4), and CuX (X = Br and I) leads to the formation of eight [Cu(n)X(n)]-based (X = Br and I; n = 1, 2, and 4) complexes, [Cu(2)I(2)L1(PPh(3))(4)] (1), [Cu(4)Cl(2)Br(2)(L4)(2)(PPh(3))(6)]·(CH(3)CN)(2) (2), [Cu(2)I(2)(L3)(2)] (3), {[Cu(2)Br(2)L2(PPh(3))(2)]·(CH(2)Cl(2))(2)}(n) (4), [CuIL1](n)·nCH(2)Cl(2) (5), [CuIL1](n) (6), [CuIL4](n) (7) and [Cu(2)I(2)L4](n) (8), which have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG, powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Structural analyses show that the eight complexes possess an increasing dimensionality from 0D (1-3) to 1D (4) to 2D (5-8), in which 1 and 2 contain a CuX unit, 2-7 contain a Cu(2)X(2) unit and 8 contains a Cu(4)X(4) unit. Such evolvement indicates that the conformation of flexible bis(pyridyl) ligands and the participation of triphenylphosphine (PPh(3)) as a second ligand take an essential role in the framework formation of the Cu(i) complexes. Moreover, a pair of symmetry-related L3 ligands in complex 3 coordinate to the rhomboid Cu(2)I(2) dimer to form "handcuff-shaped" dinuclear structures, which are further joined together through intermolecular N-HI hydrogen bonds to furnish a 2D (4,4) layer. Although complexes 5 and 6 exhibit a similar 2D (4,4) layer constructed from L1 ligand bridging [Cu(2)I(2)](n) units, the different packing fashion of the layers leads to the formation of 3D porous frameworks of 5 and dense 3D frameworks of 6. The "twisted-boat" conformation of the Cu(4)I(4) tetramer unit in complex 8 has not been reported so far.  相似文献

The reactions of cyclodiphosphazane cis-[tBuNP(OC6H4OMe-o)]2 (1) with 2 equiv of CuX in acetonitrile afforded one-dimensional Cu(I) coordination polymers [Cu2X2{tBuNP(OC6H4OMe-o)}2]n (2, X = Cl; 3, X = Br; 4, X = I). The crystal structures of 2 and 4 reveal a zigzag arrangement of [P(mu-N)(2)P] and [Cu(mu-X)(2)Cu] units in an alternating manner to form one-dimensional Cu(I) coordination polymers. The reaction between 1 and CuX in a 2:1 ratio afforded mononuclear tricoordinated copper(I) complexes of the type [CuX{(tBuNP(OC6H4OMe-o))2}2] (5, X = Cl; 6, X = Br; 7, X = I). The single-crystal structures were established for the mononuclear copper(I) complexes 5 and 6. When the reactant ratios are 1:1, the formation of a mixture of polymeric and mononuclear products was observed. The Cu(I) polymers (2-4) were converted into the mononuclear complexes (5-7) by reacting with 3 equiv of 1 in dimethyl sulfoxide. Similarly, the mononuclear complexes (5-7) were converted into the corresponding polymeric complexes (2-4) by reacting with 3 equiv of copper(I) halide under mild reaction conditions.  相似文献

A series of Cu(II) and Cu(I)/Cu(II) complexes containing the cis-N(amine)(2)S(thiolate)(2) copper complex rac-2 has been synthesized to provide a basis for understanding the charge-transfer spectra of mixed-valence thiolate-bridged Cu(I)/Cu(II) complexes. In combination with Cu(Me(2)-13-N(4)ane), rac-2 yields a monobridged dinuclear homovalent adduct, rac-5, while reaction with CuCl yields the mixed-valance pentanuclear complex rac-6. In the presence of Cu(II)(acac)(2), chiral R,R-1 reacts to form a mixed-valence pentanuclear cation R,R-7. rac-6 exhibits a relatively short Cu(I). Cu(II) contact [2.8231(9) A] and associated structural features that suggest the presence of a weak Cu(I).Cu(II) interaction in a valence-trapped system. Additional structural features in rac-6 and R,R-7 include singly and doubly bridging thiolates, three- and four-coordinated Cu(I) ions, and varying Cu(I) ligand sets. These features extend the types and complexities of electronic absorptions significantly. Spectra of rac-6 and R,R-7 exhibit multiple overlapping absorptions over the entire visible and ultraviolet spectral regions studied, consonant with these observations. Trends resulting from variations in structure type and oxidation state permit a first approach toward developing a detailed assignment of the individual ligand Rydberg, LF, LMCT, MLCT, and possible MMCT absorptions in these complexes.  相似文献

Polynuclear heterovalent Au(III)-M(I) (M = Cu, Ag, Au) cluster complexes [Au(III)Cu(I)8(mu-dppm)3(tdt)5]+ (1), [Au(III)3Ag(I)8(mu-dppm)4(tdt)8]+ (2), and [Au(III)Au(I)4(mu-dppm)4(tdt)2]3+ (3) were prepared by reaction of [Au(III)(tdt)2]- (tdt = toluene-3,4-dithiolate) with 2 equiv of [M(I)2(dppm)2]2+ (dppm = bis(diphenylphosphino)methane). Complex 3 originates from incorporation of one [Au(III)(tdt)2]- with two [Au(I)2(dppm)2]2+ components through Au(III)-S-Au(I) linkages. Formation of complexes 1 and 2, however, involves rupture of metal-ligand bonds in the metal components and recombination between the ligands and the metal atoms. The Au(tdt)2 component connects to four M(I) atoms through Au(III)-S-M(I) linkages in syn and anti conformations in complexes 1 (M = Cu) and 3 (M = Au), respectively, but in both syn and anti conformations in complex 2 (M = Ag). The tdt ligand exhibits five types of bonding modes in complexes 1-3, chelating Au(III) or M(I) atoms as well as bridging Au(III)-M(I) or M(I)-M(I) atoms in different orientations. Although complexes 1 and 2 are nonemissive, Au(III)Au(I)(4) complex 3 shows room-temperature luminescence with emission maximum at 555 nm (tau(em) = 3.1 micros) in the solid state and at 570 nm (tau(em) = 1.5 micros) in acetonitrile solution.  相似文献
