We solve the general problem of mixing of electromagnetic and scalar or pseudoscalar fields coupled by axion-type interactions L int = g ϕ ϕε μναβ F μν F αβ . The problem depends on several dimensionful scales, including the magnitude and direction of background magnetic field, the pseudoscalar mass, plasma frequency, propagation frequency, wave number, and finally the pseudoscalar coupling. We apply the results to the first consistent calculations of the mixing of light propagating in a background magnetic field of varying directions, which show a great variety of fascinating resonant and polarization effects.   相似文献

The β decay of 94Pd and of the 71s isomer of 94Rh was investigated by using total γ-ray absorption techniques. Several levels in 94Rh are established, including a new low-lying isomer characterized by a half-life of 0.48(3)μs and a de-exciting transition of 55keV. E2 multipolarity is determined for this transition by measuring the intensities of its γ-rays and the characteristic X-rays from its electron conversion. On the basis of the measured reduced β-decay transition rates to known 94Ru levels and shell model considerations, the spin-parity of the 71s and the 0.48μs isomers of 94Rh is assigned to be (4+) and (2+), respectively. The β-decay strength distributions measured for 94Pd and the 71s isomer of 94Rh yield Q EC values of 6700(320) and 9750(320)keV for these decays and give evidence for the population of those states below and above the magic N = 50 gap that belong to both components of the 0g spin-orbit doublet.  相似文献

The g-factor of the exteremely proton-rich nucleus 23Al(T 1 / 2 = 0.47 s) has been measured for the first time, applying β-NMR technique on this nucleus implanted in Si. The obtained ∣g∣ = (1.58 ± 0.2) suggests that the spin of the ground state of 23Al is 5 / 2. The magnetic moment is determined as ∣μ∣ = (3.95 ± 0.55) μ N .  相似文献

We take a boundary-value approach to quantum amplitudes arising in gravitational collapse to a black hole. Pose boundary data on initial and final space-like hypersurfaces Σ F,I , separated at spatial infinity by a Lorentzian proper-time interval T. Quantum amplitudes are calculated following Feynman's approach; rotate: T→|T|exp (−iθ) into the complex, where 0< θ≤π/2, and solve the corresponding well-posed complex classical boundary-value problem. We compute the classical Lorentzian action S class and corresponding semi-classical quantum amplitude, proportional to exp (iS class). To recover the Lorentzian amplitude, take the limit θ→ 0+ of the semi-classical amplitude. For the classical boundary-value problem with given perturbative boundary data, we compute an effective spherically-symmetric energy-momentum tensor 〉 T μν EFF , averaged over several wavelengths of the radiation, describing the averaged extra energy-momentum contribution in the Einstein field equations, due to the perturbations. This takes the form of a null fluid, describing the radiation (of quantum origin) streaming radially outwards. The classical space-time metric, in this region of the space time, is of Vaidya form, justifying the adiabatic radial mode equations, for spins s = 0 and s = 2.  相似文献

Considering the nucleon as consisting entirely of its valence quarks confined independently in a scalar-vector harmonic potential; unpolarized structure functions F 1(x, μ 2) and F 2(x, μ 2) are derived in the Bjorken limit under certain simplifying assumptions; from which valence quark distribution functions u v(x, μ 2) and d v(x, μ 2) are appropriately extracted satisfying the normalization constraints. QCD-evolution of these input distributions from a model scale of μ 2=0.07 GeV2 to a higher Q 2 scale of Q 0 2 =15 GeV2 yields xu v(x, Q 0 2 ) and xd v(x, Q 0 2 ) in good agreement with experimental data. The gluon and sea-quark distributions such as G(x, Q 0 2 ) and q s(x, Q 0 2 ) are dynamically generated with a reasonable qualitative agreement with the available data; using the leading order renormalization group equations with appropriate valence-quark distributions as the input.  相似文献

A strength function for the β+/EC decay of the deformed 160g Ho (25.6 min) nucleus has been obtained from experimental data. The fine structure of the strength function S β(E) is analyzed. It is found to have a pronounced resonant structure for Gamow-Teller transitions. In S β(E) with μτ = +1 the Gamow-Teller resonance has been observed to split into two components. This splitting is associated with anisotropy of isovector density oscillation in deformed nuclei. The β+/EC strength function for first-forbidden transitions is obtained in the Coulomb (ξ) approximation. It is shown that S β(E) for first-forbidden transitions does not have a pronounced resonant structure. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

We eliminate by KAM methods the time dependence in a class of linear differential equations in ℓ2 subject to an unbounded, quasi-periodic forcing. This entails the pure-point nature of the Floquet spectrum of the operator H 0Pt) for ε small. Here H 0 is the one-dimensional Schr?dinger operator p 2+V, V(x)∼|x|α, α <2 for |x|→∞, the time quasi-periodic perturbation P may grow as |x|β, β <(α−2)/2, and the frequency vector ω is non resonant. The proof extends to infinite dimensional spaces the result valid for quasiperiodically forced linear differential equations and is based on Kuksin's estimate of solutions of homological equations with non-constant coefficients. A significant (∼1.8%) positive unit between the parameters of the crystal lattice is the reason of tetragonal distortion (a /a ≈ 1.04) and reduction in the volume of the unit cell of La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 films (15 nm) quasicoherently grown on the (001) surface of a LaAlO3 substrate. The films consist of single-crystal blocks with the lateral size of 30–50 nm. The atomically smooth LaAlO3-La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 interphase boundary has no misfit dislocations. At T = 4.2 K, the transformation of nonferromagnetic phase inclusions into ferromagnetic ones in a constant magnetic field H is accompanied by a stable reduction in the electrical resistivity ρ of manganite films with time, so that the curve ρ(t) is well approximated by the relationship ρ(t) ∼ ρ1(tt 0)1/2, (where t 0 is the time for establishment of the specified value (μ0 H = 5 T) of the magnetic field and ρ1 is a coefficient independent of H). The magnetocrystalline anisotropy due to the elastic deformation of films by the substrate and stratification of electronic phases are the reasons of the distinct hysteresis in the dependences ρ(μ0 H, T < 100 K) obtained on μ0 H scanning in the sequence 5 T → 0 → −5 T → 0 → 5 T. At T = 50 K and μ0 H = 0.4 T, the magnetoresistance MR = 100% [ρ(μ0 H) − ρ(μ0 H = 0)]/ρ(μ0 H = 0) of LCMO films attains 150%.  相似文献

The issue of whether teleparallel nonlinear connections exist is resolved by their explicit construction on Finslerian metrics that arise in the Robertson test theory of special relativity (RTTSR), and on the Minkowski metric in particular. The method is an adaptation to the Finsler bundle of a similar construction for teleparallel linear connections. It suggests the existence of a concept of metric compatibility alternative toω μλ +ω λμ = 0 for teleparallel nonlinear connections. A sophisticated system of partial differential equations whose solutions have been discussed in the computing literature is interpreted in geometric terms. The characteristics of the solutions are checked against compliance with the conditionω μλ +ω λμ = 0, an issue whose relevance for this theory derives from the fact that nonantisymmetric connections repeatedly appear in teleparallel geometry.  相似文献

Ground-state magnetic-dipole moments (μ) of 30-32Al and electric quadrupole moments (Q) of 31,32Al have been measured with the β-NMR method using spin-polarized radioactive-isotope beams produced in projectile-fragmentation reactions. Beams of 30-32Al were obtained by using RIKEN projectile-fragment separator RIPS after the fragmentation of 40Ar projectiles at an energy of E = 95A MeV on a 93Nb target. The obtained μexp[30-32Al] and values agree well with shell-model calculations within the sd shell using the USD interaction. Also, Qexp[31Al] was found to be small. Thus, we can conclude that these aluminum isotopes are located outside the island of inversion.  相似文献

We consider the problem of minimizing the eigenvalues of the Schr?dinger operator H=−Δ+αF(κ) (α>0) on a compact n-manifold subject to the restriction that κ has a given fixed average κ0. In the one-dimensional case our results imply in particular that for F(κ)=κ2 the constant potential fails to minimize the principal eigenvalue for α>αc1/(4κ0 2), where μ1 is the first nonzero eigenvalue of −Δ. This complements a result by Exner, Harrell and Loss, showing that the critical value where the constant potential stops being a minimizer for a class of Schr?dinger operators penalized by curvature is given by α c . Furthermore, we show that the value of μ1/4 remains the infimum for all α >α c . Using these results, we obtain a sharp lower bound for the principal eigenvalue for a general potential. In higher dimensions we prove a (weak) local version of these results for a general class of potentials F(κ), and then show that globally the infimum for the first and also for higher eigenvalues is actually given by the corresponding eigenvalues of the Laplace–Beltrami operator and is never attained. We consider axion formation processes in the synchrotron (e e a) and annihilation (e e +a) channels in a constant crossed field F μν Fμν=Fμν*F μν =0, which approximates constant fields of other configurations in the ultrarelativistic asymptotic limit. The probability and intensity of axion emission are obtained, and we analyze the energy and field asymptotics. A comparison with the characteristic neutrino channel yields the constraints on the axion mass and the energy scale for Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking. On the basis of frequentist analyses of experimental constraints from electroweak precision data, (g−2) μ , B-physics and cosmological data, we investigate the parameters of the constrained MSSM (CMSSM) with universal soft supersymmetry-breaking mass parameters, and a model with common non-universal Higgs masses (NUHM1). We present χ 2 likelihood functions for the masses of supersymmetric particles and Higgs bosons, as well as BR(bs γ), BR(B s μ + μ ) and the spin-independent dark-matter scattering cross section, σ p SI. In the CMSSM we find preferences for sparticle masses that are relatively light. In the NUHM1 the best-fit values for many sparticle masses are even slightly smaller, but with greater uncertainties. The likelihood functions for most sparticle masses are cut off sharply at small masses, in particular by the LEP Higgs mass constraint. Both in the CMSSM and the NUHM1, the coannihilation region is favored over the focus-point region at about the 3-σ level, largely but not exclusively because of (g−2) μ . Many sparticle masses are highly correlated in both the CMSSM and NUHM1, and most of the regions preferred at the 95% C.L. are accessible to early LHC running, though high-luminosity running would be needed to cover the regions allowed at the 3-σ levels. Some slepton and chargino/neutralino masses should be in reach at the ILC. The masses of the heavier Higgs bosons should be accessible at the LHC and the ILC in portions of the preferred regions in the (M A ,tan β) plane. In the CMSSM, the likelihood function for BR(B s μ + μ ) is peaked close to the Standard Model value, but much larger values are possible in the NUHM1. We find that values of σ p SI>10−10 pb are preferred in both the CMSSM and the NUHM1. We study the effects of dropping the (g−2) μ , BR(bs γ), Ω χ h 2 and M h constraints, demonstrating that they are not in tension with the other constraints.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of manganese-containing plasticine putty have been obtained both at 9.4 and 94.2 GHz (room temperature). It has been possible to analyze both, quantitatively by computer-based simulation and exact diagonalization of a general spin-Hamiltonian, by use of an appropriate powder technique. A fine fit was obtained for both frequencies with an isotropicg-2.00117, uniaxial55Mn hyperfine valuesA /g c β c = −93.5 G (where ‖ implies direction (ℤ) andA /g c β c = −94.3 G, a nuclear quadrupole effectP z(55Mn)=0, and a uniaxial electronic quadrupole matrix (D/g c β c = 3D Z/2g c β c = −82.8 G). The electronic octupole energy was taken into account via the single parameterB 40/g c β c = −0.024 G. The plasticine has been demonstrated to afford a fine intensity and magnetic-field standard, say, for use with free radicals such as spin-trap adducts. Examples provided are 2,2-diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl, and hydroxyl radical generated by the Fenton reaction and spin-trapped with 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyroline-N-oxide.  相似文献

The absorption spectra, fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence decay curve of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal were measured at room temperature. The peak absorption cross section was calculated to be 6.202×10−20 cm2 with a broad FWHM of 7 nm at 808 nm for E//a light polarization. The spectroscopic parameters of Nd3+ ions in CaNb2O6 crystal have been investigated based on Judd-Ofelt theory. The parameters of the line strengths Ω t are Ω 2=5.321×10−20 cm2,Ω 4=1.734×10−20 cm2,Ω 6=2.889×10−20 cm2. The radiative lifetime, the fluorescence lifetime and the quantum efficiency are 167 μs, 152 μs and 91%, respectively. The fluorescence branch ratios are calculated to be β 1=36.03%,β 2=52.29%,β 3=11.15%,β 4=0.533%. The emission cross section at 1062 nm is 9.87×10−20 cm2.  相似文献

The previously-obtained analytical asymptotic expressions for the Gell-Mann-Low function β(g) and anomalous dimensions in the ϕ4 theory in the limit g → ∞ are based on the parametric representation of the form g = f(t), β(g) = f 1(t) (where tg 0−1/2 is the running parameter related to the bare charge g 0), which is simplified in the complex t plane near a zero of one of the functional integrals. In this work, it has been shown that the parametric representation has a singularity at t → 0; for this reason, similar results can be obtained for real g 0 values. The problem of the correct transition to the strong-coupling regime is simultaneously solved; in particular, the constancy of the bare or renormalized mass is not a correct condition of this transition. A partial proof has been given for the theorem of the renormalizability in the strong-coupling region.  相似文献

The current 7 TeV run of the LHC experiment shall be able to probe gluino and squark masses up to values larger than 1 TeV. Assuming that hints for SUSY are found in the jets plus missing energy channel by the end of a 5 fb−1 run, we explore the flavour constraints on three models with a CMSSM-like spectrum: the CMSSM itself, a seesaw extension of the CMSSM, and Flavoured CMSSM. In particular, we focus on decays that might have been measured by the time the run is concluded, such as B s μμ and μ. We also analyse constraints imposed by neutral meson bounds and electric dipole moments. The interplay between collider and flavour experiments is explored through the use of three benchmark scenarios, finding the flavour feedback useful in order to determine the model parameters and to test the consistency of the different models.  相似文献

The MOON (Majorana/Mo Observatory Of Neutrinos) project aims at studies of the Majorana nature of the neutrino (ν) and the ν-mass spectrum by spectroscopic experiments of neutrino-less double beta decays (0νββ) with the ν-mass sensitivity of 〈m ν m 〉 = 100−30 meV. The solid scintillator option of the MOON detector is a super ensemble of multi-layer modules, each being composed by PL scintillator plates and position-sensitive detector planes with good overall energy resolution of σ ≈ 2% at the Q ββ ≈ 3 MeV. Thin ββ source films are interleaved between the detector planes. High localization of the two β tracks enables one to select true signals and reject BG ones. The multi-layer structure of the detector makes it realistic to build a compact ton-scale detector. MOON with detector ≠ ββ source is used for studying 0νββ decays from 100Mo, 82Se and other ββ isotopes with large Q ββ . Real-time exclusive measurements of low energy solar neutrinos can be made by observing inverse β rays from solar-ν captures of 100Mo in delayed coincidence with the subsequent β decay of 100Tc.  相似文献

We consider a class of random matching problems where the distance between two points has a probability law which, for a small distance l, goes like lr. In the framework of the cavity method, in the limit of an infinite number of points, we derive equations for pk, the probability for some given point to be matched to its kth nearest neighbor in the optimal configuration. These equations are solved in two limiting cases: r = 0 -- where we recover p k = 1/2k, as numerically conjectured by Houdayer et al. and recently rigorously proved by Aldous -- and r→ + ∞. For 0 < r < + ∞, we are not able to solve the equations analytically, but we compute the leading behavior of pk for large k. Received 14 February 2001  相似文献
