On decomposition of continuity

Summary The main purpose of this paper is to introduce the concepts of η-sets, ηζ-sets,η-continuity and ηζ-continuity and to obtain a decomposition of continuity.     

Enlargements and generalized topologies

The paper discusses the generalization of a construction described in [6] for the case when the starting point topology is replaced by a generalized topology. Research supported by Hungarian Foundation for Scientific Research, grant No. T 49786.     

Two Theorems on the Commutativity of Arbitrary Rings

We prove a theorem on the commutativity of the PI ring and use it to generalize a famous theorem of Herstein.     

On fuzzy covering properties

The purpose of this paper is to introduce properties of the notion of α-compactness for fuzzy topological spaces. Moreover, α _c-compact spaces are introduced and properties of them are also discussed for fuzzy topological spaces.      

Temporal logic of linearly ordered <Emphasis Type="Italic">α</Emphasis>-spaces

Using the language of temporal logic, we construct a decidable calculus L* α and prove that the calculus is complete w.r.t. the class of all strictly linearly ordered α-frames. Plateau of α-function and c-minimal homoclinic orbits

We consider the construction of the plateau of the α-function in a hyperbolic and positive definite Lagrangian system, and link the boundries of the α-function’s plateau with the distribution of c-minimal homoclinic orbits to Aubry sets.     

A decomposition of α-continuity and semi-continuity

The following two decomposition theorems are obtained. (1) A function f is α-continuous if and only if f is pre-continuous and αα-continuous, (2) A function f is semi-continuous if and only if f is spr-continuous and αLC-continuous. ‖A −1‖∞ and equidiagonal-dominance

In this paper, the matrix of equidiagonal-dominance is defined and several theorems about ‖A ⁻¹‖_∞ and its evaluation are established. Many interesting numerical examples are given. Hyperspaces of Banach Spaces with the Attouch—Wets Topology

Let X be an infinite-dimensional Banach space with weight τ. By Cld _AW (X), we denote the hyperspace of nonempty closed sets in X with the Attouch—Wets topology. By Fin _AW (X), Comp _AW (X) and Bdd _AW (X), we denote the subspaces of Cld _AW (X) consisting of finite sets, compact sets and bounded closed sets, respectively. In this paper, it is proved that Fin _AW (X)≈Comp _AW (X)≈ℓ₂(τ)×ℓ₂ ^f ℓandℓBdd _AW (X)≈ℓ₂(2^τ)×ℓ₂ ^f where ≈ means ‘is homeomorphic to’, ℓ₂(τ) is the Hilbert space with weight τ (ℓ₂(ℵ₀)=ℓ₂ the separable Hilbert space) and ℓ₂ ^f ={(x _i ) _iεN εℓ₂∣x _i =0 except for finitely many iεN}.     

Super-Connectivity and Hyper-Connectivity of Vertex Transitive Bipartite Graphs

A graph is said to be super-connected if every minimum vertex cut isolates a vertex. A graph is said to be hyper-connected if the deletion of each minimum vertex cut creates exactly two components, one of which is an isolated vertex. In this note, we proved that a vertex transitive bipartite graph is not super-connected if and only if it is isomorphic to the lexicographic product of a cycle C_n(n ≥ 6) by a null graph N_m. We also characterized non-hyper-connected vertex transitive bipartite graphs.     

Definable functions in the ℵ<Subscript>0</Subscript>-categorical weakly circularly minimal structures

We continue studying the analogs of o-minimality and weak o-minimality for circularly ordered sets. We present a complete characterization of the behavior of unary definable functions in an ?₀-categorical 1-transitive weakly circularly minimal structure. Using it, we describe the ?₀-categorical 1-transitive nonprimitive weakly circularly minimal structures of convexity rank greater than 1 up to binarity.     

A note on δ-I-sets

We characterize δ-I-sets, discuss the relation between δ-sets, δ-I-sets and I _δ-sets and generalize some of the results.     

Properties of Distortion Risk Measures

The current literature does not reach a consensus on which risk measures should be used in practice. Our objective is to give at least a partial solution to this problem. We study properties that a risk measure must satisfy to avoid inadequate portfolio selections. The properties that we propose for risk measures can help avoid the problems observed with popular measures, like Value at Risk (VaR _α ) or Conditional VaR _α (CVaR _α ). This leads to the definition of two new families: complete and adapted risk measures. Our focus is on risk measures generated by distortion functions. Two new properties are put forward for these: completeness, ensuring that the distortion risk measure uses all the information of the loss distribution, and adaptability, forcing the measure to use this information adequately. A ∞-modules over A ∞-algebras and Hochschild cohomology for modules over algebras

For each left graded module M over a graded algebra A, a Hochschild cochain complex S*(A, M) whose homology is responsible for the existence of nontrivial structures of A _∞-modules over A _∞-algebras on the given module is constructed.     

On generalized neighbourhood systems

It is shown in the paper [1] that every generalized topology can be generated by a generalized neighbourhood system. Following the paper [3], we discuss some questions related to this construction. Research supported by Hungarian Foundation for Scientific Research, grant No. T 49786.     

Acceptable optimality in linear fractional programming with fuzzy coefficients

Based on the specified grades of satisfaction, we propose two new concepts of (α, β)-acceptable optimal solution and (α, β)-acceptable optimal value of a fuzzy linear fractional programming problem with fuzzy coefficients, and develop a method to compute them. An example is provided to demonstrate the method.     

A New View on Fuzzy Hypermodules

We describe the relationship between the fuzzy sets and the algebraic hyperstructures. In fact, this paper is a continuation of the ideas presented by Davvaz in （Fuzzy Sets Syst., 117： 477- 484, 2001） and Bhakat and Das in （Fuzzy Sets Syst., 80： 359-368, 1996）. The concept of the quasicoincidence of a fuzzy interval value with an interval-valued fuzzy set is introduced and this is a natural generalization of the quasi-coincidence of a fuzzy point in fuzzy sets. By using this new idea, the concept of interval-valued （α,β）-fuzzy sub-hypermodules of a hypermodule is defined. Higher order Lipschitz classes of functions and absolutely convergent Fourier series

We introduce the higher order Lipschitz classes Λ _r (α) and λ _r (α) of periodic functions by means of the rth order difference operator, where r = 1, 2, ..., and 0 < α ≦ r. We study the smoothness property of a function f with absolutely convergent Fourier series and give best possible sufficient conditions in terms of its Fourier coefficients in order that f belongs to one of the above classes. A new multivariable <Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">6</Emphasis></Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">ψ</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="BoldItalic">6</Emphasis></Subscript> summation formula

By multidimensional matrix inversion, combined with an A _r extension of Jackson’s ₈ φ ₇ summation formula by Milne, a new multivariable ₈ φ ₇ summation is derived. By a polynomial argument this ₈ φ ₇ summation is transformed to another multivariable ₈ φ ₇ summation which, by taking a suitable limit, is reduced to a new multivariable extension of the nonterminating ₆ φ ₅ summation. The latter is then extended, by analytic continuation, to a new multivariable extension of Bailey’s very-well-poised ₆ ψ ₆ summation formula. A decomposition of continuity via ideals

A new class of sets in ideal topological spaces is introduced and using these sets, a decomposition of continuity is given.
