Réduction de la conjecture de Hodge à une continuité

The obstructions, for a closed differential form on a projective manifold, to be cohomologous to an algebraic cycle with complex coefficients, are computed in terms of the Chow transformation. They can be expressed as an orthogonality condition, on the manifold itself, with families parametrized by the Grassmannian of currents which are completely determined. A parameter does not yield any obstruction if the associated projective subspace meets properly the manifold. The embedding of the manifold is degenerated, in view of applying the characterization of currents associated to algebraic cycles by the Chow transformation. We study the set of periods obtained when the parameter varies, in particular, we prove a continuity result, thanks to the constructibility of the Bernstein polynomial. When the cohomology class is rational, we conjecture that this set is connected.

Résumé. On établit la formule de décomposition spectrale des 1-formes différentielles sur une surface de Riemann non compacte M, en introduisant le fibré en sphères de M. On explicite également les séries d'Eisenstein qui entrent en jeu, on en donne quelques propriétés, notamment dans le cas de la surface où est le sous-groupe de congruence principal d'ordre 2. Sur une généralisation de la notion de V-variété

We consider a topological space which is locally isomorphic to the quotient of R^k by the action of a discrete group and we call it quasifold of dimension k. Quasifolds generalize manifolds and orbifolds and represent the natural framework for performing symplectic reduction with respect to the induced action of any Lie subgroup, compact or not, of a torus. We define quasitori, Hamiltonian actions of quasitori and the moment mapping for symplectic quasifolds, and we show that every simple convex polytope, rational or not, is the image of the moment mapping for the action of a quasitorus on a quasifold.

Motivated by properties of “frozen topological invariants” in ideal plasmas theory, we consider the problem of an intrinsic characterization of the weak closure in H₀¹ (Ω) of all functions ψ₀ ∘ ϕ, with ϕ : Ω → Ω a diffeomorphism. We show that one may associate with ψ₀ a class W^weak (ψ₀) of functions which captures robust topological properties, of the level sets of {ψ₀} and, moreover, is closed under weak limits.     

Spectroscope de résonance paramagnétique dans la bande des 1000 MHz utilisant une diode tunnel

Summary This article describes an application of tunnel diodes to paramagnetic resonance. We have studied an oscillator, functioning at about 1000 MHz, formed of a coaxial cavity with the diode tunnel included in the interior conductor. By means of this oscillator we made two experiments of paramagnetic resonance: In the first we placed the specimen directly into the oscillator. In the second we placed the specimen into another resonance cavity. The first solution is not recommended, while the second shows interesting possibilities especially when more powerful diodes have been discovered.

Cohomologie de l'algèbre de Lie des opérateurs différentiels sur une variété, à coefficients dans les fonctions

The space of local q-cochains of the Lie algebra of differential operators on a manifold, with coefficients in the space of functions, is naturally graded. The homogeneous terms of a cochain are totally ordered and the derivatives may be symbolized by linear forms on ø^m. This leads to a method giving the first three cohomology spaces.

ABSTRACT

We study the periodic Navier–Stokes equation when the vertical viscosity vanishes, in a critical space (invariant by scaling). We shall prove local-in-time existence of the solution. When the tridimensional part of the initial data is small compared with the bidimesional part and with the horizontal viscosity, we shall show global existence of solutions.
