采用Kogelnik的耦合波理论,研究了超短脉冲光通过光折变体光栅的衍射及透射光强在时域的瞬时变化特性.发现衍射和透射脉冲波形与读出脉冲宽度、光栅周期、光栅厚度及光折变材料的折射率调制大小有密切关系.通过调整这些参量的数值,可以获得需要的脉冲形状.同时还发现衍射和透射脉冲在时间轴上有一定的偏移,偏移量的大小与参量选择有关.  相似文献

The multi-layers coupled-wave theory is extended to systematically investigate the pulse shaping and diffraction properties of a system of multi-layers reflection volume holographic gratings (MRVHG) under ultrashort laser pulse (ULP) readout. The combined effects that the grating parameters such as the number and thickness of layers and gaps between them and the pulse duration of the input ULP have on the pulse shaping properties are considered. The pulse profiles of the diffracted and transmitted beams, the diffraction bandwidth, and the total diffraction efficiency are presented. The calculated results we have derived permit an optimal choice of grating parameters for the pulse shaping and process applications.  相似文献

Based on Kogelnik's coupled-wave theory, it is found that when a femtosecond pulse is incident on a transmitted volume holographic grating, two transverse standing waves along the grating vector direction will be generated inside the volume holographic grating(VHG). Due to field localization of two standing waves, they have two different velocities along the propagation depth. On the output plane of the VHG, femtosecond dual pulses are generated in both the diffracted and transmitted directions. Results show that the pulse interval is determined by the refractive index modulation and thickness of the grating, while the waveform of the dual pulses is independent of the grating parameters.  相似文献

利用二维耦合波理论,分析了超短脉冲激光光束被完全重叠型的局域体全息光栅衍射的时空变化性质,给出了衍射和透射脉冲激光光束沿光栅出射边界的强度时空分布。以LiNbO3晶体为例,数值研究了衍射光脉冲强度沿光栅出射边界的分布和脉冲波形的变化及光栅的总衍射效率受光栅二维尺寸、入射角度、光栅折射率调制度及入射脉冲的脉冲时域半峰全宽等条件的影响而变化的情况。与一维体全息光栅对超短脉冲激光光束衍射的性质,及此光栅对连续光衍射的性质作比较,给出了合理选择光栅参量及入射条件以在光栅出射边界上得到总衍射效率较大且分布较均匀的衍射光脉冲的方法。  相似文献

Based on the modified Kogelnik’s coupled-wave theory, expressions of diffraction field distribution of volume holographic grating (VHG) are derived when it is illuminated by an ultrashort pulse. It is found that the diffracted pulse is involved into two pulses, and the two-pulse interval is found to be proportional to the refractive index modulation of the VHG. Moreover, the emergence of double pulses is periodic. An overmodulation effect of refractive index modulation of transmitted VHG is used to explain this particular diffraction behavior of the VHG. Results of our study provide a feasible method to generate interval adjustable double pulse with a simple system.  相似文献

A systematic error exists in measurement of ultrasound speed in tissue with pulse methods. Frequency-dependent attenuation distorts the incident waveform as it passes through tissue causing an error in determination of speed when the time interval between fixed points on the incident and transmitted waveforms is measured. Two equations have been derived for a generalized pulse in a non-dispersive medium that enable calculation of this error when the peaks of the waveforms or the zero-crossings are used as reference points in the speed measurement. The errors have been calculated for measurement of speed in muscle, liver and fat for path lengths of 5, 10, and 15 cm for two incident pulse shapes. In general, the magnitude of this error is small compared to the biological variation, but may be significant compared to experimental error.  相似文献

In this paper, the diffraction properties of an ultrashort optical pulse with arbitrary profiles in time diffracted by a volume holographic grating are investigated using the modified Kogelnik coupled-wave theory. Simple analytical expressions for the spectrum and spatial profiles of the transmitted and diffracted beams are obtained. The dependences of the diffraction bandwidth, the Bragg selectivity bandwidth and the total diffraction efficiency of the volume grating on the temporal profiles of the input ultrashort pulse are investigated. For three different temporal profiles, numerical results of diffraction properties are given. It is shown that the temporal shapes of the input pulsed beams have been found to be an important factor in the analyses of the propagation characteristics.  相似文献

It has been theoretically shown that, during Bragg diffraction of a picosecond laser pulse in the Laue geometry in a linear photonic crystal, the pulse, entering the crystal structure, may be split into two transmitted and two diffracted pulses. The time interval between these pulses can be controlled by varying the crystal thickness and the modulation depth of the refractive index.  相似文献

超声无损检测根据不同的检测需求使用不同的激励波形,而超声相控阵技术的应用则要求各通道的激励波形能够相控发射。分析了不同检测对象、不同检测方法对激励信号的波形类型要求,研究了基于FPGA主控的数字式超声检测平台下实现单通道方波脉冲、尖脉冲、正弦波形和任意波形等的发射方法,以及以上各种波形在多通道高精度相控发射时的实现方法。实验表明,各种波形的激励信号都实现了高精度相控发射,最高可达1ns的延时精度。  相似文献

Homodyne detection is proposed to increase the readout signal of bit-oriented holographic memories. It can be easily implemented on present memory architectures by making the diffracted signal interfere with a reflection of the reading beam. The large resulting increase of the readout signal can be used to enhance the data transfer rate. A first experimental demonstration of such a readout procedure is presented.  相似文献

基于三维耦合波理论,研究了两束有限宽度的任意偏振平面波干涉产生的局域体全息光栅的衍射问题。以单位均匀振幅的任意偏振平面波为例,给出了透射波和衍射波振幅的主分量和交叉分量的解析表达式,讨论了记录过程和再现过程中入射的参考光波的偏振角对透射波和衍射波振幅的影响。计算结果表明,记录过程中的偏振角越小,形成的光栅内的耦合越强,衍射效率越高,但光束质量越差;再现过程中不同的偏振角,由于入射波和衍射波的电矢量的不同方向的耦合强弱不同,透射波和衍射波振幅的主分量和交叉分量的振幅变化行为不同。  相似文献

The diffraction properties of reflection volume holographic gratings are studied when the gratings are illuminated by an ultrashort beam with arbitrary temporal profiles. The modified Kogelnik's theory of coupled waves is used. Simple analytical expressions for spectral and temporal distribution of the transmitted and diffracted are obtained. The dependences of the diffraction bandwidth, the Bragg selectivity bandwidth and the total diffraction efficiency of the reflection volume grating on the temporal profiles of the input ultrashort pulse are investigated. Study shows that the bandwidth of the reflection volume holographic gratings varies with the grating parameters more slowly than the transmitting volume holographic gratings. For three different temporal profiles, numerical results about diffraction properties of the reflection volume holographic gratings are given and compared with the transmitting volume holographic gratings.  相似文献

We demonstrate experimentally a radio frequency arbitrary waveform generator using the incoherent wavelengthto-time mapping technique.The system is implemented by amplitude modulation of a broadband optical resource whose spectrum is reshaped by a programmable optical pulse shaper and transmitted over a single mode fiber link.The shape of the generated waveform is controlled by the optical pulse shaper,and the fiber link introduces a certain group velocity delay to implement wavelength-to-time mapping.Assisted by the flexible optical pulse shaper,we obtain different shapes of optical waveforms,such as rectangle,triangle,and sawtooth waveforms.Furthermore,we also demonstrate ultra-wideband generation,such as Gaussian monocycle,doublet,and triplet waveforms,using the incoherent technique.  相似文献

Dynamic diffraction gratings can be microfabricated with precision and offer extremely sensitive displacement measurements and light intensity modulation. The effect of pure translation of the moving part of the grating on diffracted order intensities is well known. This study focuses on the parameters that limit the intensity and the contrast of the interference. The effects of grating duty cycle, mirror reflectivities, sensor tilt and detector size are investigated using Fourier optics theory and Gaussian beam optics. Analytical findings reveal that fringe visibility becomes <0.3 when the optical path variation exceeds half the wavelength within the grating interferometer. The fringe visibility can be compensated by monitoring the interfering portion of the diffracted order light only through detector size reduction in the expense of optical power. Experiments were conducted with a grating interferometer that resulted in an eightfold increase in fringe visibility with reduced detector size, which is in agreement with theory. Findings show that diffraction grating readout principle is not limited to translating sensors but also can be used for sensors with tilt or other deflection modes.  相似文献

The spectrum change of a Gaussian pulse in the far field is studied with the Fresnel diffraction integral when it is incident on an aperture with Gaussian form transmittance. It is found that the side-lobes of the diffracted spectral intensity, which exist in a normal circular aperture with unit transmittance, can be eliminated completely under such a condition. Also, the red shift and blue shift of the spectral intensity maximum of the incident pulse are presented.  相似文献

Summary The Stellar X-Ray Polarimeter SXRP will be flown at the focus of the SODART X-ray telescope aboard the Russian satellite SPECTRUM-X-Gamma by the end of 1995. Four imaging proportional counters will detect photons diffracted by a graphite crystal (2.6 and 5.2 keV) and scattered from a lithium rod enclosed in a beryllium case (from 5 to 20 KeV). The counters are position-sensitive by the Wedge and Strip (WS) readout method. The gas mixture is 80% xenon, 10% argon and 10% methane. In this contribution we resume the results of the measurements performed on the engineering models of the counters. Position resolution of about 1.5 mm is attained with an energy resolution of about 25%. The pulse shape discrimination offers more than 98%60Co events rejection, with at least 90% X-ray acceptance. Some improvements are foreseen for the flight units in terms of sensitivity and uniformity of response.  相似文献

According to the magneto-optic (MO) perturbation theory, the coupled-mode equations for guided optical waves (GOWs) with microwave magneto-static waves (MSWs) in MO film waveguides are presented, which cannot only be used to analyze the MO modulation induced by MSW pulses, but also explain the optical pulse compression caused by chirped MSWs. The rectangular pulse modulation of continuous guided optical waves by magnetostatic forward volume waves (MSFVWs) excited under normal bias magnetic field is theoretically studied in detail. It is shown that: (1) the diffracted light pulse approximates to an isosceles trapezoid, which is in agreement with the experimental results, and the duration time and the flat-top response time are equal to the sum and difference between the width and transit time of the rectangular MSFVW pulse, respectively; (2) utilizing a small duty factor of MSFVW pulse helps to improve the modulating data rate, which is in inverse proportion to the transit time, and the relative peak intensity of the diffracted light pulse is less than the corresponding Bragg diffraction efficiency when the MSW duty factor is less than 0.5.  相似文献
