Summary In this contribution some aspects of rheological models containing fractional derivatives are shown. After a short historical review of the application of fractional derivatives in rheology, a mathematical formulation of these derivatives is given.The possibility of using fractional derivatives in the construction of rheological models is demonstrated. The behaviour of a simple fractional derivative model is calculated in a number of experiments, often performed on fibres.The model is checked against the results of some measurements on nylon 6 and PETP fibres, which leads to the addition of an elastic term.Finally, in broad outline, the relation between fractional derivative models and the principal expressions of the theory of linear viscoelasticity is indicated.
Zusammenfassung In diesem Beitrag wird auf einige Aspekte rheologischer Modelle, die partielle Differentialquotienten enthalten, eingegangen.Nach einem kurzen historischen Überblick über die Anwendungen dieser Differentialquotienten in der Rheologie wird eine mathematische Formulierung gegeben. Auch wird gezeigt, wie diese Differentialquotienten in rheologische Modelle eingeführt werden können; das dynamische Verhalten eines einfachen Modells wird mit Hilfe verschiedener Experimente, wie sie oft an viskoelastischen Stoffen durchgeführt werden, berechnet.Das Modell wird anhand der Ergebnisse einiger Messungen an Nylon 6- und PETP-Fasern geprüft; dies veranlaßte die Einführung eines elastischen Terms.Schließlich wird die Beziehung zwischen partielle Differentialquotienten enthaltenden Modellen und den wichtigsten Gleichungen der Theorie der linearen Viskoelastizität in großen Zügen angegeben.

以Kelvin流变模型为研究对象,提出了一种分数阶Kelvin流变模型。首先,把Kelvin模型中的整数阶导数改为分数阶导数,考虑到岩石材料的频率通常不超过1000 Hz,在分数阶拟合时,拟合频段选取为[0 1000],进而利用Oustalop滤波算法把分数阶表示为整数阶模式;其次,利用试验数据对分数阶模型进行参数识别,考虑到分数阶Kelvin模型具有强非线性的特点,引入了Levenberg-Marquardt优化算法来确定未知参数;最后,对于频域表示的流变方程,利用Laplace逆变换获得流变精确表达式。仿真实例表明本文方法可以很好地反映岩石流变特性。  相似文献

In this paper we focus on the rheological problem of defining a constitutive equation for viscoelastic materials. In this simple case, we show that writing the dissipative component of the observable response to a given excitation as the result of multiple internal processes working for equilibrium recovery (flux of internal hidden variables), can yield a recursive series in time. This can be obtained when use is made of the theorem of created entropy equipartition as a model for fluctuation regression. A distribution (spectrum) for relaxation times naturally follows. The model thus obtained reflects the concept of a hierarchically constrained dynamic behavior. The conclusion is that the operator of non-integer differentiation in time applied to field variables can also be recovered from pure thermodynamic considerations.  相似文献

A physically sound three-dimensional anisotropic formulation of the standard linear viscoelastic solid with integer or fractional order rate laws for a finite set of the pertinent internal variables is presented. It is shown that the internal variables can be expressed in terms of the strain as convolution integrals with kernels of Mittag–Leffler function type. A time integration scheme, based on the Generalized Midpoint rule together with the Grünwald algorithm for numerical fractional differentiation, for integration of the constitutive response is developed. The predictive capability of the viscoelastic model for describing creep, relaxation and damped dynamic responses is investigated both analytically and numerically. The algorithm and the present general linear viscoelastic model are implemented into the general purpose finite element code Abaqus. The algorithm is then used together with an explicit difference scheme for integration of structural responses. In numerical examples, the quasi-static and damped responses of a viscoelastic ballast material that is subjected to loads simulating the overrolling of a train are investigated.  相似文献

A convenient and universal residue calculus method is proposed to study the stochastic response behaviors of an axially moving viscoelastic beam with random noise excitations and fractional order constitutive relationship, where the random excitation can be decomposed as a nonstationary stochastic process, Mittag-Leffler internal noise, and external stationary noise excitation. Then, based on the Laplace transform approach, we derived the mean value function, variance function and covariance function through the Green's function technique and the residue calculus method, and obtained theoretical results. In some special case of fractional order derivative α , the Monte Carlo approach and error function results were applied to check the effectiveness of the analytical results, and good agreement was found. Finally in a general-purpose case, we also confirmed the analytical conclusion via the direct Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

Very recently, researchers dealing with constitutive law pertinent viscoelastic materials put forward the successful idea to introduce viscoelastic laws embedded with fractional calculus, relating the stress function to a real order derivative of the strain function. The latter consideration leads to represent both, relaxation and creep functions, through a power law function. In literature there are many papers in which the best fitting of the peculiar viscoelastic functions using a fractional model is performed. However there are not present studies about best fitting of relaxation function and/or creep function of materials that exhibit a non-linear viscoelastic behavior, as polymer melts, using a fractional model. In this paper the authors propose an advanced model for capturing the non-linear trend of the shear viscosity of polymer melts as function of the shear rate. Results obtained with the fractional model are compared with those obtained using a classical model which involves classical Maxwell elements. The comparison between experimental data and the theoretical model shows a good agreement, emphasizing that fractional model is proper for studying viscoelasticity, even if the material exhibits a non-linear behavior.  相似文献

The stability of an axially moving beam constituted by fractional order material under parametric resonances is investigated. The governing equation is derived from Newton??s second law and the fractional derivative Kelvin constitutive relationship. The time-dependent axial speed is assumed to vary harmonically about a constant mean velocity. The resulting principal parametric resonances and summation resonances are investigated by the multi-scale method. It is found that instabilities occur when the frequency of axial speed fluctuations is close to two times the natural frequency of the beam or when the frequency is close to the sum of any two natural frequencies. Moreover, Numerical results show that the larger fractional order and the viscoelastic coefficient lead to the larger instability threshold of speed fluctuation for a given detuning parameter. The regular axially moving beam displays a higher stability than the beam constituted by fractional order material.  相似文献

Following the modelling of Zener, we establish a connection between the fractional Fokker-Planck equation and the anomalous relaxation dynamics of a class of viscoelastic materials which exhibit scale-free memory. On the basis of fractional relaxation, generalisations of the classical rheological model analogues are introduced, and applications to stress–strain relaxation in filled and unfilled polymeric materials are discussed. A possible generalisation of Reiner's Deborah number

A gradient elastic material model exhibiting gradient kinematic and isotropic hardening is addressed within a thermodynamic framework suitable to cope with nonlocal-type continua. The Clausius–Duhem inequality is used, in conjunction with the concepts of energy residual, insulation condition and locality recovery condition, to derive all the pertinent restrictions upon the constitutive equations, including the PDEs and the related higher order (HO) boundary conditions that govern the gradient material behaviour. Through a suitable limiting procedure, the HO boundary conditions are shown to interpret the action, upon the body's boundary surface, of idealized extra HO constraints capable to impede the onset of strain as a nonlocality source and to react with a double traction (of dimension moment/area), work-conjugate of the impeded strain. The HO boundary conditions for the internal moving elastic/plastic boundary are also provided. A number of variational principles are proved. In this paper, we propose to use a fractional order model to predict the process output in Smith predictor. The parameters of the model are determined by minimizing the error between its output and one of the processes using a genetic algorithm. After determining the model’s parameters, a fractional PID controller is proposed to improve the controlled system performances. The parameters of the controller are also determined in an optimal way by minimizing the position error taking into account the sensitivity and the complementary sensitivity conditions. Applications on a dead time and multiple lags processes have been performed, where the simulation results show that the proposed Smith predictor enhance the closed loop control system.  相似文献

A new mathematical model of electro-thermoelasticity has been constructed in the context of a new consideration of heat conduction with fractional order. The state space approach developed in Ezzat (2008) is adopted for the solution of one-dimensional problem in the presence of heat sources. The Laplace transform technique is used. A numerical method is employed for the inversion of the Laplace transforms. According to the numerical results and its graphs, conclusion about the new theory has been constructed. Some comparisons have been shown in figures to estimate the effects of the fractional order parameter on all the studied fields.  相似文献

Oscillatory shear measurements on a series of branched graft polystyrenes (PS) synthesized by the macromonomer technique are presented. The graft PS have similar molar masses (M w between 1.3×105 g/mol and 2.4×105 g/mol) and a polydispersity M w /M n around 2. The molar masses of the grafted side chains M w,br range from 6.8×103 g/mol to 5.8×104 g/mol, which are well below and above the critical entanglement molar mass M c of linear polystyrene. The average number of side chains per molecule ranges from 0.6 to 6.7. The oscillatory measurements follow the time–temperature superposition principle. The shift factors do not depend on the number of branches. The zero-shear viscosities of all graft PS are lower than those of linear PS with the same molar mass, which can be attributed to the smaller coil size of the branched molecules. It is shown that the influence of branching on the frequency dependence of the dynamic moduli is weak for all graft PS that were investigated, which can be explained by the low entanglement density.Electronic Supplementary Material Supplementary material is available for this article at This article has already been published online first (DOI: ).
