The unimolecular decomposition processes of ethylene glycol have been investigated with the QCISD(T) method with geometries optimized at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level. Among the decomposition channels identified, the H(2)O-elimination channels have the lowest barriers, and the C-C bond dissociation is the lowest-energy dissociation channel among the barrierless reactions (the direct bond cleavage reactions). The temperature and pressure dependent rate constant calculations show that the H(2)O-elimination reactions are predominant at low temperature, whereas at high temperature, the direct C-C bond dissociation reaction is dominant. At 1 atm, in the temperature range 500-2000 K, the calculated rate constant is expressed to be 7.63 × 10(47)T(-10.38) exp(-42262/T) for the channel CH(2)OHCH(2)OH → CH(2)CHOH + H(2)O, and 2.48 × 10(51)T(-11.58) exp(-43593/T) for the channel CH(2)OHCH(2)OH → CH(3)CHO + H(2)O, whereas for the direct bond dissociation reaction CH(2)OHCH(2)OH → CH(2)OH + CH(2)OH the rate constant expression is 1.04 × 10(71)T(-16.16) exp(-52414/T).  相似文献

The potential energy surfaces of H-atom reactions with CH(3)CH(2)O and CH(3)CHOH, two major radicals in the decomposition and oxidation of ethanol, have been studied at the CCSD(T)/6-311+G(3df,2p) level of theory with geometric optimization carried out at the BH&HLYP/6-311+G(3df,2p) level. The direct hydrogen abstraction channels and the indirect association/decomposition channels from the chemically activated ethanol molecule have been considered for both reactions. The rate constants for both reactions have been calculated at 100-3000 K and 10(-4) Torr to 10(3) atm Ar pressure by microcanonical VTST/RRKM theory with master equation solution for all accessible product channels. The results show that the major product channel of the CH(3)CH(2)O + H reaction is CH(3) + CH(2)OH under atmospheric pressure conditions. Only at high pressure and low temperature, the rate constant for CH(3)CH(2)OH formation by collisonal deactivation becomes dominant. For CH(3)CHOH + H, there are three major product channels; at high temperatures, CH(3)+CH(2)OH production predominates at low pressures (P < 100 Torr), while the formation of CH(3)CH(2)OH by collisional deactivation becomes competitive at high pressures and low temperatures (T < 500 K). At high temperatures, the direct hydrogen abstraction reaction producing CH(2)CHOH + H(2) becomes dominant. Rate constants for all accessible product channels in both systems have been predicted and tabulated for modeling applications. The predicted value for CH(3)CHOH + H at 295 K and 1 Torr pressure agrees closely with available experimental data. For practical modeling applications, the rate constants for the thermal unimolecular decomposition of ethanol giving key accessible products have been predicted; those for the two major product channels taking place by dehydration and C-C breaking agree closely with available literature data.  相似文献

The mechanisms and kinetics studies of the OH radical with alkyl hydroperoxides CH(3)OOH and CH(3)CH(2)OOH reactions have been carried out theoretically. The geometries and frequencies of all the stationary points are calculated at the UBHandHLYP/6-311G(d,p) level, and the energy profiles are further refined by interpolated single-point energies method at the MC-QCISD level of theory. For two reactions, five H-abstraction channels are found and five products (CH(3)OO, CH(2)OOH, CH(3)CH(2)OO, CH(2)CH(2)OOH, and CH(3)CHOOH) are produced during the above processes. The rate constants for the CH(3)OOH/CH(3)CH(2)OOH + OH reactions are corrected by canonical variational transition state theory within 250-1500 K, and the small-curvature tunneling is included. The total rate constants are evaluated from the sum of the individual rate constants and the branching ratios are in good agreement with the experimental data. The Arrhenius expressions for the reactions are obtained.  相似文献

A theoretical study on the mechanism of the OH reactions with HCN and CH(3)CN, in the presence of O2, is presented. Optimum geometries and frequencies have been computed at BHandHLYP/6-311++G(2d,2p) level of theory for all stationary points. Energy values have been improved by single-point calculations at the above geometries using CCSD(T)/6-311++G(2d,2p). The initial attack of OH to HCN was found to lead only to the formation of the HC(OH)N adduct, while for CH(3)CN similar proportions of CH(2)CN and CH(3)C(OH)N are expected. A four-step mechanism has been proposed to explain the OH regeneration, experimentally observed for OH + CH(3)CN reaction, when carried out in the presence of O2. The mechanism steps are as follows: (1) OH addition to the C atom in the CN group, (2) O2 addition to the N atom, (3) an intramolecular H migration from OH to OO, and (4) OH elimination. This mechanism is in line with the one independently proposed by Wine et al. for HCN. The results obtained here suggest that for the OH + HCN reaction, the OH regeneration might occur even in larger extension than for OH + CH(3)CN reaction. The agreement between the calculated data and the available experimental evidence on the studied reactions seems to validate the mechanism proposed here.  相似文献

The reaction for CH3CH2+O(3P) was studied by ab initio method. The geometries of the reactants, intermediates, transition states and products were optimized at MP2/6-311+G(d,p) level. The corresponding vibration frequencies were calculated at the same level. The single-point calculations for all the stationary points were carried out at the QCISD(T)/6-311+G(d,p) level using the MP2/6-311+G(d,p) optimized geometries. The results of the theoretical study indicate that the major products are the CH2O+CH3, CH3CHO+H and CH2CH2+OH in the reaction. For the products CH2O+CH3 and CH3CHO+H, the major production channels are A1: (R)→IM1→TS3→(A) and B1: (R)→IM1→TS4→(B), respectively. The majority of the products CH2CH2+OH are formed via the direct abstraction channels C1 and C2: (R)→TS1(TS2)→(C). In addition, the results suggest that the barrier heights to form the CO reaction channels are very high, so the CO is not a major product in the reaction.  相似文献

The mechanisms of the reactions: CH(3)C(O)CH(2)F+OH/Cl-->products (R1/R2) and CH(3)C(O)CF(3)+OH/Cl-->products (R3/R4) are studied over a wide temperature range (200-2000 K) by means of the dual-level direct dynamics method. The optimized geometries and frequencies of the stationary points are calculated at the MP2/cc-pVDZ and B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) levels. The energy profiles of the reactions are then refined with the interpolated single-point-energy method (ISPE) at the BMC-CCSD level. The canonical variational transition-state theory (CVT) with the small-curvature-tunneling (SCT) correction method is used to calculate the rate constants. Using group-balanced isodesmic reactions as working chemical reactions, the standard enthalpies of formation for CH(3)C(O)CH(2)F, CH(3)C(O)CF(3), CH(3)C(O)CHF, CH(2)C(O)CH(2)F, and CH(2)C(O)CF(3) are evaluated at the CCSD(T)/6-311+G(2d,p)//MP2/cc-pVDZ level of theory. The results indicate that the hydrogen abstraction is dominated by removal from the fluoromethyl position rather than from the methyl position.  相似文献

Potential-energy surface of the CH3CO + O2 reaction has been calculated by ab initio quantum chemistry methods. The geometries were optimized using the second-order Moller-Plesset theory (MP2) with the 6-311G(d,p) basis set and the coupled-cluster theory with single and double excitations (CCSD) with the correlation consistent polarized valence double zeta (cc-pVDZ) basis set. The relative energies were calculated using the Gaussian-3 second-order Moller-Plesset theory with the CCSD/cc-pVDZ geometries. Multireference self-consistent-field and MP2 methods were also employed using the 6-311G(d,p) and 6-311++G(3df,2p) basis sets. Both addition/elimination and direct abstraction mechanisms have been investigated. It was revealed that acetylperoxy radical [CH3C(O)OO] is the initial adduct and the formation of OH and alpha-lactone [CH2CO2(1A')] is the only energetically accessible decomposition channel. The other channels, e.g., abstraction, HO2 + CH2CO, O + CH3CO2, CO + CH3O2, and CO2 + CH3O, are negligible. Multichannel Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus theory and transition state theory (E-resolved) were employed to calculate the overall and individual rate coefficients and the temperature and pressure dependences. Fairly good agreement between theory and experiments has been obtained without any adjustable parameters. It was concluded that at pressures below 3 Torr, OH and CH2CO2(1A') are the major nascent products of the oxidation of acetyl radicals, although CH2CO2(1A') might either undergo unimolecular decomposition to form the final products of CH2O + CO or react with OH and Cl to generate H2O and HCl. The acetylperoxy radicals formed by collisional stabilization are the major products at the elevated pressures. In atmosphere, the yield of acetylperoxy is nearly unity and the contribution of OH is only marginal.

再经过氢迁移、脱氢和裂解等机理得到主要产物P1(CH2SS+H2O),次要产物P2(CH2S+HSOH),P3(CH3SH+1SO)和P4(CH2SSO+H2),其中最低反应通道的势垒为174.6kJ.mol-1.  相似文献

The mechanism for the CH3+C2H5OH reaction has been investigated by the modified Gaussian-2 method based on the geometric parameters of the stationary points optimized at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory. Five transition states have been identified for the production of CH4+CH3CHOH (TS1), CH4+CH3CH2O (TS2), CH4+CH2CH2OH (TS3), CH3OH+CH3CH2 (TS4), and CH3CH2OCH3+H (TS5) with the corresponding barriers 12.0, 13.2, 16.0, 44.7, and 49.9 kcal/mol, respectively. The predicted rate constants and branching ratios for the three lower-energy H-abstraction reactions were calculated using the conventional and variational transition state theory with quantum-mechanical tunneling corrections for the temperature range 300-3000 K. The predicted total rate constant, kt=8.36 x 10(-76) T(20.00) exp(5258/T) cm3 mol(-1) s(-1) (300-600 K) and 6.10 x 10(-25) T(4.10)exp(-4058/T) cm3 mol(-1) s(-1) (600-3000 K), agrees closely with existing experimental data in the temperature range 403-523 K. Similarly, the predicted rate constants for CH3+CH3CD2OH and CD3+C2H5OD are also in reasonable agreement with available low temperature kinetic data.  相似文献

A direct dynamics simulation at the B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) level of theory was used to study the F- + CH3OOH reaction dynamics. The simulations are in excellent agreement with a previous experimental study (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2002, 124, 3196). Two product channels, HF + CH2O + OH- and HF + CH3OO-, are observed. The former dominates and occurs via an ECO2 mechanism in which F- attacks the CH3- group, abstracting a proton. Concertedly, a carbon-oxygen double bond is formed and OH- is eliminated. Somewhat surprisingly this is not the reaction path, predicted by the intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC), which leads to a deep potential energy minimum for the CH2(OH)2...F- complex followed by dissociation to HF + CH2(OH)O-. None of the direct dynamics trajectories followed this path, which has an energy release of -63 kcal/mol and is considerably more exothermic than the ECO2 path whose energy release is -27 kcal/mol. Other product channels not observed, and which have a lower energy than that for the ECO2 path, are F- + CO + H2 + H2O (-43 kcal/mol), F- + CH2O + H2O (-51 kcal/mol), and F- + CH2(OH)2 (-60 kcal/mol). Formation of the CH3OOH...F- complex, with randomization of its internal energy, is important, and this complex dissociates via the ECO2 mechanism. Trajectories which form HF + CH3OO- are nonstatistical events and, for the 4 ps direct dynamics simulation, are not mediated by the CH3OOH...F- complex. Dissociation of this complex to form HF + CH3OO- may occur on longer time scales.  相似文献

The complex potential energy surface and reaction mechanisms for the unimolecular isomerization and decomposition of methyl-nitramine (CH3NHNO2) were theoretically probed at the QCISD(T)/6-311+G*//B3LYP/6-311+G* level of theory. The results demonstrated that there are four low-lying energy channels: (i) the NN bond fission pathway; (ii) a sequence of isomerization reactions via CH3NN(OH)O; (IS2a); (iii) the HONO elimination pathway; (iv) the isomerization and the dissociation reactions via CH3NHONO (IS3). The rate constants of each initial step (rate-determining step) for these channels were calculated using the canonical transition state theory. The Arrhenius expressions of the channels over the temperature range 298-2000 K are k6(T)=1014:8e-46:0=RT , k7(T)=1013:7e-42:1=RT , k8(T)=1013:6e-51:8=RT and k9(T)=1015:6e-54:3=RT s-1, respectively. The calculated overall rate constants is 6.9£10-4 at 543 K, which is in good agreement with the experimental data. Based on the analysis of the rate constants, the dominant pathway is the isomerization reaction to form CH3NN(OH)O at low temperatures, while the NN bond fission and the isomerization reaction to produce CH3NHONO are expected to be competitive with the isomerization reaction to form CH3NN(OH)O at high temperatures.  相似文献

A systematic theoretical study of the reactions of HO2 with RO2 has been carried out. The major concern of the present work is to gain insight into the reaction mechanism and then to explain experimental observations and to predict new product channels for this class of reactions of importance in the atmosphere. In this paper, the reaction mechanisms for two reactions, namely, HO2 + CH3O2 and HO2 + CH2FO2, are reported. Both singlet and triplet potential energy surfaces are investigated. The complexity of the present system makes it impossible to use a single ab initio method to map out all the reaction paths. Various ab initio methods including MP2, CISD, QCISD(T), CCSD(T), CASSCF, and density function theory (B3LYP) have been employed with the basis sets ranging from 6-31G(d) to an extrapolated complete basis set (CBS) limit. It has been established that the CCSD(T)/cc-pVDZ//B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) scheme represents the most feasible method for our systematic study. For the HO2 + CH3O2 reaction, the production of CH3OOH is determined to be the dominant channel. For the HO2 + CH2FO2 reaction, both CH2FOOH and CHFO are major products, whereas the formation of CHFO is dominant in the overall reaction. The computational findings give a fair explanation for the experimental observation of the products.  相似文献

The elementary reaction of the CH3 radical with NO2 was investigated by time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. The CH3 radical was produced by laser photolysis of CH3Br or CH3I at 248 nm. Vibrationally excited products OH, HNO and CO2 were observed by the time-resolved spectroscopy for the first time. The formation of another product NO was also verified. According to these observations, the product channels leading to CH3O+NO, CH2NO+OH and HNO+H2CO were identified. The channel of CH3O+NO was the major one. The reaction mechanisms of the above channels were studied by quantum chemical calculations at CCSD(T)/6-311++G(df,p)//MP2/6-311G(d,p) level. The calculated results fit with the experimental observations well.  相似文献

The potential energy surface (PES) of the CH3OH system has been characterized by ab initio molecular orbital theory calculations at the G2M level of theory. The mechanisms for the decomposition of CH3OH and the related bimolecular reactions, CH3 + OH and 1CH2 + H2O, have been elucidated. The rate constants for these processes have been calculated using variational RRKM theory and compared with available experimental data. The total decomposition rate constants of CH3OH at the high- and low-pressure limits can be represented by k infinity = 1.56 x 10(16) exp(-44,310/T) s-1 and kAr0 = 1.60 x 10(36) T-12.2 exp(-48,140/T) cm3 molecule-1 s-1, respectively, covering the temperature range 1000-3000 K, in reasonable agreement with the experimental values. Our results indicate that the product branching ratios are strongly pressure dependent, with the production of CH3 + OH and 1CH2 + H2O dominant under high (P > 10(3) Torr) and low (P < 1 atm) pressures, respectively. For the bimolecular reaction of CH3 and OH, the total rate constant and the yields of 1CH2 + H2O and H2 + HCOH at lower pressures (P < 5 Torr) could be reasonably accounted for by the theory. For the reaction of 1CH2 with H2O, both the yield of CH3 + OH and the total rate constant could also be satisfactorily predicted theoretically. The production of 3CH2 + H2O by the singlet to triplet surface crossing, predicted to occur at 4.3 kcal mol-1 above the H2C...OH2 van der Waals complex (which lies 82.7 kcal mol-1 above CH3OH), was neglected in our calculations.  相似文献

Rate coefficients of the reaction O(3P)+C2H5OH in the temperature range 782-1410 K were determined using a diaphragmless shock tube. O atoms were generated by photolysis of SO2 at 193 nm with an ArF excimer laser; their concentrations were monitored via atomic resonance absorption. Our data in the range 886-1410 K are new. Combined with previous measurements at low temperature, rate coefficients determined for the temperature range 297-1410 K are represented by the following equation: k(T)=(2.89+/-0.09)x10(-16)T1.62 exp[-(1210+/-90)/T] cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1); listed errors represent one standard deviation in fitting. Theoretical calculations at the CCSD(T)/6-311+G(3df, 2p)//B3LYP/6-311+G(3df) level predict potential energies of various reaction paths. Rate coefficients are predicted with the canonical variational transition state (CVT) theory with the small curvature tunneling correction (SCT) method. Reaction paths associated with trans and gauche conformations are both identified. Predicted total rate coefficients, 1.60 x 10(-22)T3.50 exp(16/T) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) for the range 300-3000 K, agree satisfactorily with experimental observations. The branching ratios of three accessible reaction channels forming CH3CHOH+OH (1a), CH2CH2OH+OH (1b), and CH3CH2O+OH (1c) are predicted to vary distinctively with temperature. Below 500 K, reaction 1a is the predominant path; the branching ratios of reactions 1b,c become approximately 40% and approximately 11%, respectively, at 2000 K.  相似文献

Ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been performed to understand the destruction chemistry of an important organophosphorus insecticide O,O-dimethyl O-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl) phosphorothioate, fenitrothion (FN), toward nucleophilic attack. Breaking of the P-OAr linkages through nucleophilic attack is considered to be the major degradation pathway for FN. One simple nucleophile, hydroxide (OH(-)), and two different α-nucleophiles, hydroperoxide (OOH(-)) and hydroxylamine anion (NH(2)O(-)), have been considered for this study. Nucleophilic attack at the two different centers, S(N)2@P and S(N)2@C, has been monitored, and the computed reaction energetics confirms that the S(N)2@P reactions are favorable over the S(N)2@C reactions for all the nucleophiles. All electronic structure calculations for the reaction are performed at DFT-B3LYP/6-31+G(d) level of theory followed by a refinement of energy at ab initio MP2/6-311++G(2d,2p) level. The effect of aqueous polarization on both the S(N)2 reactions is taken into account employing the conductor-like screening model (COSMO) as well as polarization continuum model (PCM) at B3LYP/6-31+G(d) level of theory. Relative performance of the two α-nucleophiles, OOH(-) and NH(2)O(-), at the P center has further been clarified using natural bond orbital (NBO), conceptual DFT, and atoms in molecules (AIM) approaches. The strength of the intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the transition states and topological properties of the electron density distribution for -X-H···S (X = O, N) intermolecular hydrogen bonds are the subject of NBO and AIM analysis, respectively. Our calculated reaction energetics and electronic properties suggest that the relative order of nucleophilicity for the nucleophiles is OOH(-) > NH(2)O(-) > OH(-) for the S(N)2@P, whereas for the S(N)2@C the order, which gets little altered, is NH(2)O(-) > OOH(-) > OH(-).  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism for the unimolecular decomposition of o-nitrotoluene (o-CH(3)C(6)H(4)NO(2)) have been studied computationally at the G2M(RCC, MP2)//B3LYP/6-311G(d, p) level of theory in conjunction with rate constant predictions with RRKM and TST calculations. The results of the calculations reveal 10 decomposition channels for o-nitrotoluene and its six isomeric intermediates, among them four channels give major products: CH(3)C(6)H(4) + NO(2), C(6)H(4)C(H)ON (anthranil) + H(2)O, CH(3)C(6)H(4)O (o-methyl phenoxy) + NO, and C(6)H(4)C(H(2))NO + OH. The predicted rate constants in the 500-2000 K temperature range indicate that anthranil production, taking place initially by intramolecular H-abstraction from the CH(3) group by NO(2) followed by five-membered ring formation and dehydration, dominates at temperatures below 1000 K, whereas NO(2) elimination becomes predominant above 1100 K and CH(3)C(6)H(4)O formation by the nitro-nitrite isomerization/decomposition process accounts for only 5-11% of the total product yield in the middle temperature range 800-1300 K. The branching ratio for CH(2)C(6)H(4)NO formation by the decomposition process of CH(2)C(6)H(4)N(O)OH is negligible. The predicted high-pressure-limit rate constants with the rate expression of 4.10 x 10(17) exp[-37000/T] s(-1) for the NO(2) elimination channel and 9.09 x 10(12) exp[-25800/T] s(-1) for the H(2)O elimination channel generally agree reasonably with available experimental data. The predicted high-pressure-limit rate constants for the NO and OH elimination channels are represented as 1.49 x 10(14) exp[-30000/T] and 1.31 x 10(15) exp[-38000/T] s(-1), respectively.  相似文献

The stability and isomerizations of CH3SO isomers have been investigated at B3LYP/6-311G(d,p), MP2/6-311G(d,p), QCISD/6-311G(d,p), and CCSD(T)/6-311G(d,p) levels. Geometries of isomers and transition states (TS) have been optimized at the B3LYP/6-311G(d, p) level. Vibration analysis and the intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculated at the same level have been applied to validate the connection of the stationary points. The four different methods give similar results: 11 isomers and 9 isomerization channels were found. CH3SO and CH2(S)OH are the most stable species among the 11 isomers. Furthermore, the breakage and formation of the chemical bonds in isomerization reactions have been discussed by the topological analysis method of electronic density. The "energy transition state (ETS)" and the "structure transition state (STS)" of all the isomerizations have been found. The topological analysis shows that the relative positions of ETS and STS are determined by reaction energy. The nonplanar four-member ring structure transition state (STS), which was first found in this paper, extended the concept of ring STS.  相似文献

Gas-phase acidities of CH2=C=X (X = CH2, NH, O, and S) and barriers for the identity proton transfers (X=C=CH2 + HC triple bond C-X- right harpoon over left harpoon -X-C triple bond CH + CH2=C=X) as well as geometries and charge distributions of CH2=C=X, HC triple bond C-X- and the transition states of the proton transfer were determined by ab initio methods at the MP2/6-311+G(d,p)//MP2/6-311+G(d,p) and B3LYP/6-311+G(d,p) levels of theory. The acidities were also calculated at the CCSD(T)/6-311+G(2df,p) level. A major objective of this study was to examine how the enhanced unsaturation of CH2=C=X compared to that of CH3CH=X may affect acidities, transition state imbalances, and intrinsic barriers of the identity proton transfer. The results show that the acidities are all higher while the barriers are lower than for the corresponding CH3CH=X series. The transition states are all imbalanced but less so than for the reactions of CH3CH=X.  相似文献

The E(CO)2 elimination reactions of alkyl hydroperoxides proceed via abstraction of an alpha-hydrogen by a base: X(-) + R(1)R(2)HCOOH --> HX + R(1)R(2)C=O + HO(-). Efficiencies and product distributions for the reactions of the hydroxide anion with methyl, ethyl, and tert-butyl hydroperoxides are studied in the gas phase. On the basis of experiments using three isotopic analogues, HO(-) + CH3OOH, HO(-) + CD3OOH, and H(18)O(-) + CH3OOH, the overall intrinsic reaction efficiency is determined to be 80% or greater. The E(CO)2 decomposition is facile for these methylperoxide reactions, and predominates over competing proton transfer at the hydroperoxide moiety. The CH3CH2OOH reaction displays a similar E(CO)2 reactivity, whereas proton transfer and the formation of HOO(-) are the exclusive pathways observed for (CH3)3COOH, which has no alpha-hydrogen. All results are consistent with the E(CO)2 mechanism, transition state structure, and reaction energy diagrams calculated using the hybrid density functional B3LYP approach. Isotope labeling for HO(-) + CH3OOH also reveals some interaction between H2O and HO(-) within the E(CO)2 product complex [H2O...CH2=O...HO(-)]. There is little evidence, however, for the formation of the most exothermic products H2O + CH2(OH)O(-), which would arise from nucleophilic condensation of CH2=O and HO(-). The results suggest that the product dynamics are not totally statistical but are rather direct after the E(CO)2 transition state. The larger HO(-) + CH3CH2OOH system displays more statistical behavior during complex dissociation.  相似文献
