Phase transition in the two-dimensional q-state Potts model with random ferromagnetic couplings is studied in the large-q limit by a combinatorial optimization algorithm and by approximate mappings. We conjecture that the critical behavior of the model is controlled by the isotropic version of the infinite randomness fixed point of the random transverse-field Ising spin chain and the critical exponents are exactly given by beta=(3-sqrt[5])/4, beta(s)=1/2, and nu=1. The specific heat has a logarithmic singularity, but at the transition point there are very strong sample-to-sample fluctuations. Discretized randomness results in discontinuities in the internal energy.  相似文献

In this paper we study quantum-phase transition in the one-dimensional XY model with an XY easy-plane single ion anisotropy. We use the path-integral formalism, but consider the effect of quantum fluctuations, which renormalize the parameters of the system, using the self-consistent harmonic approximation. We show that the quantum fluctuations increase the effective coupling constant of the model.  相似文献

The anisotropic frustrated three-dimensional (3D) XY model with disorder in the coupling constants is simulated as a model of a point disordered superconductor in an applied magnetic field. A finite size scaling analysis of the helicity modulus gives strong evidence for a finite temperature transition with isotropic scaling and the correlation length exponent nu=1.5+/-0.3, consistent with 3D gauge glass universality.  相似文献

The exact solution of the problem of the ground state of theXY-spin system on a deformed chain is found. At finite magnetizationm it is characterized by the double periodic structure and has a finite-band spectrum of spin excitations. We study the d-dimensional quantum XY model with ferromagnetic long-range interaction decaying as r-p in terms of boson operators, by employing the coherent state path integral approach. We have obtained a finite critical temperature as a function of the dimension (d) for d2d the system becomes disordered at all temperatures. For the particular values p=3/2 and d=1 our theoretical calculations are comparable to those from Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

Phase diagrams of diluted mixed spin XY magnetic systems on 3D cubic lattice are investigated by the use of the variational principle and the replica method. The results are given with the consideration of the different nearest-neighbour interactions between randomly occupied magnetic sites.Dilution and competition are found to be responsible of the spin glass phase. The range of dilution in which this phase may appear depends on the spin number, the sign and strength of magnetic interactions.The experimental phase diagrams of the particular 3D hexagonal FepMn1−pTiO3 and the planar system K2CupMn1−pF4 are well represented by the obtained results.  相似文献

The features of the phase transition are considered in a model that is a combination of the Ising and Kosterlitz-Thouless models. It is shown that one or two successive phase transitions may occur in such a system, depending on the relation between parameters. We study the relationship between the behavior of global quantum correlations and quantum phase transitions in XY model. We find that the two kinds of phase transitions in the studied model can be characterized by the features of global quantum discord (GQD) and the corresponding quantum correlations. We demonstrate that the maximum of the sum of all the nearest neighbor bipartite GQDs is effective and accurate for signaling the Ising quantum phase transition, in contrast, the sudden change of GQD is very suitable for characterizing another phase transition in the XY model. This may shed lights on the study of properties of quantum correlations in different quantum phases.  相似文献

In this paper we study the one-dimensional XY model with single ion anisotropy and long-range interaction that decay as a power law. The model has a quantum phase transition, at zero temperature, at a critical value Dc of the anisotropy parameter D. For values of D below Dc we use a self-consistent harmonic approximation. We have found that the critical temperature increases with D for small values of this parameter. For values of D above Dc we use the bond operator technique and calculate the gap as a function of D, at zero temperature.  相似文献

We perform a high precision Monte Carlo study of asymptotic domain growth in a compressible two-dimensional spin-exchange Ising model with continuous particle positions and zero total magnetization, and we investigate the effects of compressibility and lattice mismatch on the late-time domain growth law, R(t) = A + Bt(n). For mismatched systems, we measure significant deviations from the theoretically expected n = 1/3 late-time growth (n = 0.224 +/- 0.004), and for a compressible model with no mismatch, we measure only a slight deviation from n = 1/3. These results strongly suggest that the current understanding of the classes of domain growth is incomplete.  相似文献
