We study the relationship between the behavior of global quantum correlations and quantum phase transitions in XY model. We find that the two kinds of phase transitions in the studied model can be characterized by the features of global quantum discord (GQD) and the corresponding quantum correlations. We demonstrate that the maximum of the sum of all the nearest neighbor bipartite GQDs is effective and accurate for signaling the Ising quantum phase transition, in contrast, the sudden change of GQD is very suitable for characterizing another phase transition in the XY model. This may shed lights on the study of properties of quantum correlations in different quantum phases.  相似文献

The sharing of classical and quantum correlations via XY interaction is investigated. The model includes two identical networks consisting of nn nodes, the iith node of one network sharing a correlated state with the jjth node of the other network, while all other nodes are initially unconnected. It is shown that classical correlation, quantum discord as well as entanglement can be shared between any two nodes of the network via XY interaction and that quantum information can be transferred effectively between them. It is found that there is no simple dominating relation between the quantum correlation and entanglement in inertial system.  相似文献

In contrast with entanglement and quantum discord (QD), we investigate the thermal quantum correlation in terms of Schatten one-norm geometric quantum discord (GQD) in the XY spin chain, and analyze their capabilities in detecting the critical point of quantum phase transition. We show that the one-norm GQD can reveal more properties about quantum correlation between two spins, especially for the long-range quantum correlation at finite temperature. Under the influences of site distance, anisotropy and temperature, one-norm GQD and its first derivative make it possible to detect the critical point efficiently for a general XY spin chain.  相似文献

In this paper we study the one-dimensional XY model with single ion anisotropy and long-range interaction that decay as a power law. The model has a quantum phase transition, at zero temperature, at a critical value Dc of the anisotropy parameter D. For values of D below Dc we use a self-consistent harmonic approximation. We have found that the critical temperature increases with D for small values of this parameter. For values of D above Dc we use the bond operator technique and calculate the gap as a function of D, at zero temperature.  相似文献

We show that quantum correlations as quantified by quantum discord can characterize quantum phase transitions by exhibiting nontrivial long-range decay as a function of distance in spin systems. This is rather different from the behavior of pairwise entanglement, which is typically short-ranged even in critical systems. In particular, we find a clear change in the decay rate of quantum discord as the system crosses a quantum critical point. We illustrate this phenomenon for first-order, second-order, and infinite-order quantum phase transitions, indicating that pairwise quantum discord is an appealing quantum correlation function for condensed matter systems.  相似文献

Based on an open exactly solvable system coupled to an environment with nontrivial spectral density, we connect the features of quantum and classical correlations with some features of the environment, initial states of the system, and the presence of initial system–environment correlations. Some interesting features not revealed before are observed by changing the structure of environment, the initial states of system, and the presence of initial system–environment correlations. The main results are as follows. (1) Quantum correlations exhibit temporary freezing and permanent freezing even at high temperature of the environment, for which the necessary and sufficient conditions are given by three propositions. (2) Quantum correlations display a transition from temporary freezing to permanent freezing by changing the structure of environment. (3) Quantum correlations can be enhanced all the time, for which the condition is put forward. (4) The one-to-one dependency relationship between all kinds of dynamic behaviors of quantum correlations and the initial states of the system as well as environment structure is established. (5) In the presence of initial system–environment correlations, quantum correlations under local environment exhibit temporary multi-freezing phenomenon. While under global environment they oscillate, revive, and damp, an explanation for which is given.  相似文献

We find that the dynamical phase transition (DPT) in nearest-neighbor bipartite entanglement of time-evolved states of the anisotropic infinite quantum XY spin chain, in a transverse time-dependent magnetic field, can be quantitatively characterized by the dynamics of an information-theoretic quantum correlation measure, namely, quantum work-deficit (QWD). We show that only those nonequilibrium states exhibit entanglement resurrection after death, on changing the field parameter during the DPT, for which the cumulative bipartite QWD is above a threshold. The results point to an interesting inter-relation between two quantum correlation measures that are conceptualized from different perspectives.  相似文献

We apply the Wigner function formalism from quantum optics via two approaches, Wootters' discrete Wigner function and the generalized Wigner function, to detect quantum phase transitions in critical spin-12 systems. We develop a general formula relating the phase space techniques and the thermodynamical quantities of spin models, which we apply to single, bipartite and multi-partite systems governed by the XY and the XXZ models. Our approach allows us to introduce a novel way to represent, detect, and distinguish first-, second- and infinite-order quantum phase transitions. Furthermore, we show that the factorization phenomenon of the XY model is only directly detectable by quantities based on the square root of the bipartite reduced density matrix. We establish that phase space techniques provide a simple, experimentally promising tool in the study of many-body systems and we discuss their relation with measures of quantum correlations and quantum coherence.  相似文献

In this paper, the monogamy properties of some quantum correlations, including the geometric quantum discord, concurrence, entanglement of formation and entropy quantum discord, in the anisotropic spin-1/2 XY model with staggered Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya(DM) interaction have been investigated using the quantum renormalization group(QRG) method. We summarize the monogamy relation for different quantum correlation measures and make an explicit comparison. Through mathematical calculations and analysis, we obtain that no matter whether the QRG steps are carried out, the monogamy of the given states are always unaltered. Moreover, we conclude that the geometric quantum discord and concurrence obey the monogamy property while other quantum correlation measures, such as entanglement of formation and quantum discord, violate it for this given model.  相似文献

We study the dynamics and protection of tripartite quantum correlations in terms of genuinely tripartite concurrence, lower bound of concurrence and tripartite geometric quantum discord in a three-qubit system interacting with independent thermal bath. By comparing the dynamics of entanglement with that of quantum discord for initial GHZ state and W state, we find that W state is more robust than GHZ state, and quantum discord performs better than entanglement against the decoherence induced by the thermal bath. When the bath temperature is low, for the initial GHZ state, combining weak measurement and measurement reversal is necessary for a successful protection of quantum correlations. But for the initial W state, the protection depends solely upon the measurement reversal. In addition, the protection cannot usually be realized irrespective of the initial states as the bath temperature increases.  相似文献

By means of the Loschmidt Echo (LE) and Berry Phase (BP) calculations, quantum phase transition (QPT) of an XY spin chain with three-site interaction (α) in a transverse magnetic field (λ) is studied. Both the LE and BP?s λ derivative present anomaly behaviors at the critical regions λ1,λ2 and λ3. The model is in the Ferromagnetic phase as λ>λ1=1+α and in the Spin Liquid I phase as −1+α<λ<1+α. λ1 and λ2 are independent on the anisotropy parameter γ. But, the anisotropy interaction can shift the critical line λ3 between the Spin Liquid II phase and the Ferromagnetic phase. The present work suggests that QPT of the XY spin chain with three-site interaction can be characterized by exploring the dynamical behaviors of the LE and BP.  相似文献

We investigate the prominent impacts of coupling strengths on the evolution of entanglement and quantum discord for a three-qubit system coupled to an XY spin-chain environment. In the case of a pure W state, more robust, even larger nonzero quantum correlations can be obtained by tailoring the coupling strengths between the qubits and the environment. For a mixed state consisting of the GHZ and W states, the dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord can characterize the critical point of quantum phase transition. Remarkably, a large nonzero quantum discord is generally retained, while the nonzero entanglement can only be obtained as the system-environment coupling satisfies certain conditions. We also find that the impact of each qubit's coupling strength on the quantum correlation dynamics strongly depends on the variation schemes of the system-environment couplings.  相似文献

In multi-band superconductors as inter-metallic systems and heavy fermions, external pressure can reduce the critical temperature and eventually destroy superconductivity driving these systems to the normal state. In many cases this transition is continuous and is associated with a superconducting quantum critical point (SQCP). In this work we study a two-band superconductor in the presence of hybridization V. This one-body mixing term is due to the overlap of the different wave-functions. It can be tuned by external pressure and turns out as an important control parameter to study the phase diagram and the nature of the phase transitions. We use a BCS approximation and include both inter- and intra-band attractive interactions. For negligible inter-band interactions, as hybridization (pressure) increases we find a SQCP separating a superconductor from a normal state at a critical value of the hybridization Vc. We obtain the behavior of the electronic specific heat close to the SQCP and the shape of the critical line as V approaches Vc.  相似文献

We examine the ability of quantum discord (QD) and entanglements (concurrence, EoF and negativity) to detect the critical points associated to quantum phase transitions (QPTs) for XY models, i.e., the isotropic XY model with three-spin interactions at zero temperature, and the anisotropic XY model in a transverse magnetic field h at finite temperatures. For the case of zero temperature, we found that both entanglements and QD can spotlight the critical points of QPTs for these two models. Moreover, QD versus distance M exhibits the long-range behavior of quantum correlation for the anisotropic XY model, while entanglement is short-ranged. For the case of finite temperatures, we found that negativity has the same behaviors with concurrence at or near transition points. Moreover, QD for the anisotropic XY model can increase with temperature even in the absence of a magnetic field.  相似文献
