The transport properties of an artificial single-molecule magnet based on a CdTe quantum dot doped with a single Mn+2 ion(S=5/2) are investigated by the non-equilibrium Green function method. We consider a minimal model where the Mn-hole exchange coupling is strongly anisotropic so that spin-flip is suppressed and the impurity spin S and a hole spin s entering the quantum dot are coupled into spin pair states with(2S+1) sublevels. In the sequential tunneling regime, the differential conductance exhibits(2S+1) possible peaks, corresponding to resonance tunneling via(2S+1) sublevels. At low temperature,Kondo physics dominates transport and(2S+1) Kondo peaks occur in the local density of states and conductance. These peaks originate from the spin-singlet state formed by the holes in the leads and on the dot via higher-order processes and are related to the parallel and antiparallel spin pair states.  相似文献

The Fano and Kondo cooperated resonant tunneling through a quantum dot interferometer under the perturbation of a rotating magnetic field is investigated theoretically. The spin-polarized current components have been derived generally by employing the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green?s function method, through which the charge and spin currents are determined directly. The numerical calculations on spin and charge currents are performed to show the compound features of mesoscopic transport associated with the Kondo, Fano, and Zeeman effects intimately. The induced spin current in the Kondo regime is much different from the one in the non-interacting regime. The spin current is tuned from resonant peak to valley by varying external parameters.  相似文献

Green’s function in the paramagnetic phase of the Hubbard model with strong electron correlations is calculated by the many-electron operators method. The density of states pattern is considered in the case of half-filling (metal-insulator transition) and in the doped case. The effect of the low-temperature Kondo scattering on the energy spectrum is analyzed, and the results are compared with the results of the dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT).  相似文献

Using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function technique, we study the current and shot noise spectroscopy of an interacting quantum dot coupled to two ferromagnetic leads with different polarizations in the Kondo regime. General formulas of current and shot noise are obtained, which can be applied in both the parallel (P) and antiparallel (AP) alignment cases. For large polarization values, it is revealed that the behaviour of differential conductance and shot noise are completely different for spin up and spin down configurations in the P alignment case. However, the differential conductance and shot noise have similar properties for different spin configurations in the P alignment case with the small polarization value and in the AP alignment case with any polarization value.  相似文献

We investigate the time-dependent Kondo effect in a single-molecule magnet (SMM) strongly coupled to metallic electrodes. Describing the SMM by a Kondo model with large spin S>1/2, we analyze the underscreening of the local moment and the effect of anisotropy terms on the relaxation dynamics of the magnetization. Underscreening by single-channel Kondo processes leads to a logarithmically slow relaxation, while finite uniaxial anisotropy causes a saturation of the SMM's magnetization. Additional transverse anisotropy terms induce quantum spin tunneling and a pseudospin-1/2 Kondo effect sensitive to the spin parity.  相似文献

We study the Josephson effect through a quantum dot magnet whose spin is isotropic and which is coupled to the dot electron spin via exchange coupling. We calculate the Andreev levels and the supercurrent and examine the intertwined effect of the exchange coupling, Kondo correlation, and superconductivity. The former suppresses Kondo correlations, which triggers phase transitions from the 0 to the pi state, but strong antiferromagnetic coupling restores the 0 state. The asymmetric phase diagram in the exchange coupling suggests that the coupling sign could be determined in experiments.  相似文献

We study the conductance through a ring described by the Hubbard model (such as an array of quantum dots), threaded by a magnetic flux and subject to Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). We develop a formalism that is able to describe the interference effects as well as the Kondo effect when the number of electrons in the ring is odd. In the Kondo regime, the SOC reduces the conductance from the unitary limit, and, in combination with the magnetic flux, the device acts as a spin polarizer.  相似文献

Using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function and equation-of-motion technique, we have qualitatively studied the spin-dependent transport of a triple-QD system in the Kondo regime. It is shown that the Kondo resonance and Fang interference coexist, and in this system the Fang Kondo effect shows dip behaviours richer than that in the T-shaped QDs. The interdot coupling, the energy level of the side coupled QDs and the spin polarization strength greatly influence the DOS of the central quantum dot QDo. Either the increase of the coupling strength between the two QDs or that of the energy levels of the side coupled QDs enhances the Kondo resonance. Especially, the Kondo resonance is strengthened greatly when the side dot energy is fixed at the Fermi energy. Meanwhile, the Kondo resonance splits for the spin-up and spin-down configurations due to the polarization: the down-spin resonance is enhanced, and the up-spin resonance is suppressed.  相似文献

A two-band Hubbard model for highly hybridized copper 3d(x 2y 2) and oxygen 2p(x,y) electrons in CuO2 plane with strong Coulomb repulsion at copper sites is considered. A real-space pairing mechanism induced by antiferromagnetic interaction of Kondo type is treated. To avoid the Gutzwiller approximation the projection technique for two-time Green functions for Hubbard operators is employed. It is shown that due to rigorous restriction of no double occupancy at copper sites the exchange-mediatedp-d pairing with a site-independent gap function isabsent.  相似文献

We study d-wave superconductivity in the extended Hubbard model in the strong correlation limit for a large intersite Coulomb repulsion V. We argue that in the Mott-Hubbard regime with two Hubbard subbands, there emerges a new energy scale for the spin-fluctuation coupling of electrons of the order of the electron kinetic energy W much larger than the exchange energy J. This coupling is induced by the kinematic interaction for the Hubbard operators, which results in the kinematic spin-fluctuation pairing mechanism for V ? W. The theory is based on the Mori projection technique in the equation of motion method for the Green’s functions in terms of the Hubbard operators. The doping dependence of the superconductivity temperature T c is calculated for various values of U and V.  相似文献

Spin and charge transport through a quantum dot coupled to external nonmagnetic leads is analyzed theoretically in terms of the non-equilibrium Green function formalism based on the equation of motion method. The dot is assumed to be subject to spin and charge bias, and the considerations are focused on the Kondo effect in spin and charge transport. It is shown that the differential spin conductance as a function of spin bias reveals a typical zero-bias Kondo anomaly which becomes split when either magnetic field or charge bias are applied. Significantly different behavior is found for mixed charge/spin conductance. The influence of electron-phonon coupling in the dot on tunneling current as well as on both spin and charge conductance is also analyzed.  相似文献

Using the Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function and equation-of-motion technique, we investigate Fano versus Kondo resonances in a closed Aharonov-Bohm interferometer coupled to ferromagnetic leads and study their effects on the conductance of this system. The conductance with both parallel and antiparallel lead-polarization alignments is analysed for various values of the magnetic flux. Our results show that this system can provide an excellent spin filtering property, and a large tunnelling magnetoresistance can arise by adjusting the system parameters, which indicates that this system is a possible candidate for spin valve transistors and has important applications in spintronics.  相似文献

We show that it is possible to topologically induce or quench the Kondo resonance in the conductance of a single-molecule magnet (S>1/2) strongly coupled to metallic leads. This can be achieved by applying a magnetic field perpendicular to the molecule easy axis and works for both full- and half-integer spin cases. The effect is caused by the Berry-phase interference between two quantum tunneling paths of the molecule's spin. We have calculated the renormalized Berry-phase oscillations of the Kondo peaks as a function of the transverse magnetic field as well as the conductance of the molecule by means of the poor man's scaling method. We propose to use a new variety of the single-molecule magnet Ni4 for the experimental observation of this phenomenon.  相似文献

Nonequilibrium spin transport through an interacting quantum dot is analyzed. The coherent spin oscillations in the dot provide a generating source for spin current. In the interacting regime, the Kondo effect is influenced in a significant way by the presence of the processing magnetic field. In particular, when the precession frequency is tuned to resonance between spin-up and spin-down states of the dot, Kondo singularity for each spin splits into a superposition of two resonance peaks. The Kondo-type cotunneling contribution is manifested by a large enhancement of the pumped spin current in the strong coupling low temperature regime.  相似文献

Superconducting pairing is considered for a two-dimensional system with strong correlation between the carrier subsystem and the subsystem of localized spins. The Kondo lattice model is analyzed for the case where spin polarons are the elementary excitations. It is shown that taking into account only the anomalous Green’s functions for bare holes is insufficient for superconducting pairing to occur; it arises only after the introduction of the anomalous Green’s functions for spin-polaron operators.  相似文献

We investigate the spin-dependent thermoelectric effect of a Rashba molecular quantum dot coupled with both ferromagnetic leads and a phonon bath in the Kondo regime. A transport formula is derived to deal with the strong electron–electron and electron–phonon interaction with the spin–orbit coupling of arbitrary intensity simultaneously. The numerical results show that only strengthening the electron–phonon coupling can improve the charge thermopower, while even very small spin–orbit coupling can suppress both the thermocharge figure of merit and the thermospin one at the Kondo temperature greatly. It is also found that the electron–phonon coupling in conjunction with the spin–orbit coupling can rebuild Fermi liquid state in the Kondo regime.  相似文献

In this work, using the non-equilibrium Keldysh formalism, we study the effects of the electron–electron interaction and the electron-spin correlation on the non-equilibrium Kondo effect and the transport properties of the symmetric single impurity Anderson model (SIAM) at zero temperature by generalizing the self-consistent method of Singwi, Tosi, Land, and Sjolander (STLS) for a single-band tight-binding model with Hubbard type interaction to out of equilibrium steady-states. We at first determine in a self-consistent manner the non-equilibrium spin correlation function, the effective Hubbard interaction, and the double-occupancy at the impurity site. Then, using the non-equilibrium STLS spin polarization function in the non-equilibrium formalism of the iterative perturbation theory (IPT) of Yosida and Yamada, and Horvatic and Zlatic, we compute the spectral density, the current–voltage characteristics and the differential conductance as functions of the applied bias and the strength of on-site Hubbard interaction. We compare our spectral densities at zero bias with the results of numerical renormalization group (NRG) and depict the effects of the electron–electron interaction and electron-spin correlation at the impurity site on the aforementioned properties by comparing our numerical result with the order U2U2 IPT. Finally, we show that the obtained numerical results on the differential conductance have a quadratic universal scaling behavior and the resulting Kondo temperature shows an exponential behavior.  相似文献

It is shown how to construct Keldysh diagram technique for pseudo-particle approach to the Hubbard model. We propose self-consistent equations for pseudo particle and electron Green’s functions in Keldysh diagram technique. Nonlocal effects (spatial dispersion) are included in single impurity problem in this method. Thus we can get rid of the artificial central peak (of Kondo type) in the density of states which is inevitable in Dynamical Mean Field Theory (DMFT). The changes in the density of states for 2D Hubbard model due to variation of Coulomb repulsion U and electron concentration are analyzed.  相似文献
