虚拟边界法研究正交双圆柱及串列双圆球绕流   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
把Goldstein等人提出的虚拟边界法推广到三维情况,研究了 Re=150时不同间距下正交双圆柱绕流,和Re=250时不同间距下串列双 圆球绕流流场. 对于正交双圆柱绕流,当间距比大于3,下游圆柱对上游圆柱尾流的影响只 限定在下游圆柱的尾流所扫过的范围之内;当间距比小于等于3,下游圆柱对上游圆柱尾流 的影响扩大,下游圆柱尾流扫过区上下出现两排三维流向二次涡结构. 对于串列圆球绕流, 研究发现,在小间距比(L/D≈ 1.5)的情况下,由于上下游圆球尾流区的相互抑 制消除了压力不稳定性,整个流场呈现稳 态轴对称特征;间距比为2.0时,周向压力梯度诱发出流体的周向输运,流场呈现稳态非对 称性,但流场中存在特定的对称面;间距比增大到2.5后,绕流场开始周期振荡,原有的对 称面依旧存在;在间距比3.5时下游圆球下表面的涡结构强度有所减弱,导致占优频率发生 交替;间距比增至7.0时,整个流场恢复稳态特征,两圆球尾部同时出现双线涡,这时流场 对称面的位置发生了变动.  相似文献

It is well known from a lot of experimental data that fluid forces acting on two tandem circular cylinders are quite different from those acting on a single circular cylinder. Therefore, we first present numerical results for fluid forces acting on two tandem circular cylinders, which are mounted at various spacings in a smooth flow, and second we present numerical results for flow-induced vibrations of the upstream circular cylinder in the tandem arrangement. The two circular cylinders are arranged at close spacing in a flow field. The upstream circular cylinder is elastically placed by damper-spring systems and moves in both the in-line and cross-flow directions. In such models, each circular cylinder is assumed as a rigid body. On the other hand, we do not introduce a turbulent model such as the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) or Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) models into the numerical scheme to compute the fluid flow. Our numerical procedure to capture the flow-induced vibration phenomena of the upstream circular cylinder is treated as a fluid-structure interaction problem in which the ideas of weak coupling is taken into consideration.  相似文献

Results are presented for flow-induced vibrations of a pair of equal-sized circular cylinders of low nondimensional mass (m*=10) in a tandem arrangement. The cylinders are free to oscillate both in streamwise and transverse directions. The Reynolds number, based on the free-stream speed and the diameter of the cylinders, D is 100 and the centre-to-centre distance between the cylinders is 5.5D. The computations are carried out for reduced velocities in the range 2≤U*≤15. The structural damping is set to zero for enabling maximum amplitudes of oscillation. A stabilized finite element method is utilized to carry out the computations in two dimensions. Even though the response of the upstream cylinder is found to be qualitatively similar to that of an isolated cylinder, the presence of a downstream cylinder is found to have significant effect on the behaviour of the upstream cylinder. The downstream cylinder undergoes very large amplitude of oscillations in both transverse and streamwise directions. The maximum amplitude of transverse response of the downstream cylinder is quite similar to that of a single cylinder at higher Re beyond the laminar regime. Lock-in and hysteresis are observed for both upstream and downstream cylinders. The downstream cylinder undergoes large amplitude oscillations even beyond the lock-in state. The phase between transverse oscillations and lift force suffers a 180 jump for both the cylinders almost in the middle of the synchronization regime. The phase between the transverse response of the two cylinders is also studied. Complex flow patterns are observed in the wake of the freely vibrating cylinders. Based on the phase difference and the flow patterns, the entire flow range is divided into five sub-regions.  相似文献

本文运用有限体积方法,对绕串列放置的双圆柱的二维不可压缩流动进行了数值计算。为研究两圆柱不同间距对圆柱相互作用和尾流特征的影响,选取间距比L/D(L为两圆柱中心间的距离,D为圆柱直径)在1.5~5.0之间每隔0.5共八个有代表性的间距进行了计算模拟。计算均在Re=200条件下进行。计算结果表明:对该绕流问题,流动特征在很大程度上取决于间距的大小。且间距存在一临界值,间距比从小于临界值变化到大于临界  相似文献

A streamline upwind finite element method using 6-node triangular element is presented. The method is applied to the convection term of the governing transport equation directly along local streamlines. Several convective-diffusion examples are used to evaluate efficiency of the method. Results show that the method is monotonic and does not produce any oscillation. In addition, an adaptive meshing technique is combined with the method to further increase accuracy of the solution, and at the same time, to minimize computational time and computer memory requirement.  相似文献

A numerical investigation of the two-dimensional laminar flow around side-by-side rotating circular cylinders using Lattice Boltzmann method is conducted. The effects of variation of rotational speed ratio β and different gap spacings g* at Reynolds number of 100 are studied. A various range of rotational speed ratio 0 ≤ β ≤ 2 for four different gap spacings of 3, 1.5, 0.7 and 0.2 are investigated. Flow conditions and its characteristics, such as lift and drag coefficients and Strouhal number, is studied. The results indicated that as β increases, the flow changes its condition from periodic to steady after a critical rotational speed. Results also indicated that variation of the gap spacing and rotational speed has significant effect on wake pattern. Wake pattern in turn has significant effect on the Strouhal number. Finally, the result is compared with experimental and other numerical data.  相似文献

Results showing the dynamic response of a tandem arrangement of two vertical high aspect ratio (length over diameter) and low mass ratio (mass over mass of displaced fluid) flexible cylinders vibrating at low mode number are presented in this paper. Two circular cylinder models were aligned with the flow, so the downstream or trailing cylinder was immersed in the wake of the leading one. Centre-to-centre distances from 2 to 4 diameters were studied. The models were very similar in design, with external diameters of 16 mm and a total length of 1.5 m. Reynolds numbers up to 12 000 were achieved with reduced velocities, based on the fundamental natural frequency of the downstream cylinder in still water, up to 16. The trailing model had a mass ratio of 1.8 with a combined mass-damping parameter of 0.049, whilst the corresponding figures for the leading cylinder were 1.45 and 0.043, respectively. The dynamic response of the trailing model has been analysed by studying cross-flow and in-line amplitudes, dominant frequencies and modal amplitudes. The dynamic response of the leading one is analysed by means of its cross-flow amplitudes and dominant frequencies and it is also related to the motion of the trailing cylinder by studying the synchronisation between their instantaneous cross-flow motions. Planar digital particle image velocimetry (DPIV) was used to visualise the wake. Different response regimes have been identified based on the type of oscillations exhibited by the cylinders: vortex-induced (VIV), wake-induced (WIV) or combinations of both.  相似文献

The numerical investigation of the two-dimensional laminar flow past two ro- tating circular cylinders in the tandem arrangement is conducted by the lattice Boltzmann method. The numerical strategy is used for dealing with curved and moving boundaries of the second-order accuracy for velocity and temperature fields. The effects of various rotational speed ratios and gap spacing are studied with the Reynolds number of 100 and the Prandtl number of 0.71. A varied range of rotational speed ratios are investigated for four different gap spacing, i.e., 3.0, 1.5, 0.7, and 0.2. The results show that, for the first cylinder, the lift and drag coefficients for large gap spacing are similar to those for a single cylinder; for the second cylinder, the lift coefficient descends with the increase in the angular velocity for all gap spacing, while the drag coefficient ascends except for the gap spacing of 3.0. The results of the averaged periodic Nusselt number on the surface of the cylinders show that, for small distances between the cylinders and low angular velocities, conduction is a dominant mechanism of heat transfer, but for large distances and high angular velocities, convection is the main mechanism of heat transfer.  相似文献

The aerodynamic characteristics of tandem cables of cable-stayed bridges have become an increasingly serious problem with increments in span length. In order to reduce the construction cost and maintenance of cables, tandem cables have been adopted for cable-stayed bridges. These cables, however, have aerodynamic response characteristics such as wake-galloping. Therefore, a method to suppress wake-galloping in tandem cables is required. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the wake-galloping phenomenon of tandem cables of cable-stayed bridges using numerical fluid flow analysis. The flow around the oscillating tandem circular cylinders modeled on tandem cables is calculated. The flow field is treated as an incompressible viscous flow. The Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method is employed to solve the flow field around the cylinders, and the three-step Taylor-Galerkin method, which is based on a fractional step finite element method, is adopted for discretization.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A numerical method is developed to simulate the process that a falling rigid sphere hits rigid ground and bounces back in air. The problem is treated as fluid-structure interaction problem based on the ALE finite element flow analysis. In order to introduce the numerical process of impact into the present staggered fluid-structure time marching algorithm, the impact force is applied to the equation of motion of the sphere. The magnitude of the impact force is determined by iteration so that the velocity of the sphere after impact converges to zero. Application of the impact force at a single time instant causes unphysical pressure oscillation. This has been suppressed by applying the impact force smoothly over multiple short time steps. In the present method impulse is evaluated instead of impact force. Computations with different density ratio of the sphere to air showed effect of the air on the sphere motion.  相似文献

A control-volume based finite element method of equal-order type for three-dimensional incompressible turbulent fluid flow, heat transfer, and related phenomena is presented. The discretization equations are based mainly on the physics of the phenomena under consideration, more than on mathematical arguments. Special emphasis is devoted to the discretization of the convective terms and the continuity equation, and to the treatment of the boundary conditions imposed by the use of a high Reynolds k-?, type turbulence model. The pressure-velocity coupling in the fluid flow calculation is made from a derivative of the original SIMPLER method, without pressure correction. The discretized equations are solved in a sequential, rather than a coupled, form with significant advantage in the required computer time and storage. The method is an extension of a former version proposed by us for two-dimensional, laminar problems, and is here successfully applied to the following situations: three-dimensional deflected turbulent jet, and flows in 90° and 45° junctions of ducts with rectangular cross sections. The calculated results are in very good agreement with the experimental and numerical (obtained with the well established finite difference method) data available in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a discretization of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations involving a second-order time scheme based on the characteristics method and a spatial discretization of finite element type. Theoretical and numerical analyses are detailed and we obtain stability results abnd optimal eror estimates on the velocity and pressure under a time step restriction less stringent than the standard Courant-Freidrichs-Levy condition. Finally, some numerical results obtained wiht the code N3S are shown which justify the interest of this scheme and its advantages with respect to an analogous first-order time scheme. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A time-accurate least-squares finite element method is used to simulate three-dimensional flows in a cubic cavity with a uniform moving top. The time- accurate solutions are obtained by the Crank-Nicolson method for time integration and Newton linearization for the convective terms with extensive linearization steps. A matrix-free algorithm of the Jacobi conjugate gradient method is used to solve the symmetric, positive definite linear system of equations. To show that the least-squares finite element method with the Jacobi conjugate gradient technique has promising potential to provide implicit, fully coupled and time-accurate solutions to large-scale three-dimensional fluid flows, we present results for three-dimensional lid-driven flows in a cubic cavity for Reynolds numbers up to 3200.  相似文献

将半解析有限元与梯度有限元相结合,形成一种半解析梯度有限元来求解功能梯度材料板件问题。该方法兼有有限元法的适应性强、程序统一,半解析有限元法的节省单元与计算工作量,梯度有限元法的适应构件内部材料性能任意梯度分布等特点,并实现用一维数值计算给出构件三维分析结果。算例分析表明了方法的精度、功能与上述特点,充分揭示了功能梯度材料板件力学响应的三维形态。半解析梯度有限元法可推广应用到其他功能梯度材料面结构的各类分析中。  相似文献

Interactive vortex shedding in the multiply connected domain formed by a pair of circular cylinders is analysed by the FEM–FDM blending technique. The vorticity–streamfunction formulation is used to solve the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations at Re = 100, with the time-dependent wall streamfunctions determined from the pressure constraint condition and the far-field streamfunctions from the integral series formula developed earlier by the authors. The standard Galerkin finite element method is used in the relatively small FEM subdomain and the finite difference method based on the general co-ordinate system in the rest of the flow domain. Symmetric, antisymmetric and asymmetric wake patterns are obtained confirming the earlier experimental findings. The bistable nature of the asymmetric vortex shedding as well as the intermittent drifting from one status to the other between symmetric and antisymmetric wake patterns are reported.  相似文献

The nonlinear partial differential equation model of Gibson et al. which governs one-dimensional large-strain consolidation is solved numerically using a semi-discrete formulation involving a Galerkin weighted residual approach. The use of quadratic Lagrange basis functions usually complicates the task of solving the system of time-dependent ordinary differential equations that are obtained with the semi-discrete Galerkin procedure. However, an efficient algorithm has been discovered yielding the advantages of quadratic interpolation without undue computational burden.Although considerable effort has already been made to solve the PDE of large-strain consolidation by numerical methods, a satisfactory set of benchmarks is still needed to assess accuracy. To fill this need, three procedures are reported which allow numerical solutions of the large-strain model to be reliably evaluated. One involves the use of perturbation methodology to provide a solution when only self-weight effects are present. A second utilizes an analytical solution developed by Philip when self-weight effects are absent and the third involves the exact calculation of the discharge flux through the upper boundary of a deposit consolidating through self-weight effects alone. All three are restricted to early-time consolidation and are illustrated in the context of the finite element method.  相似文献

采用最小二乘算子分裂有限元法求解非定常不可压N-S(Navier-Stokes)方程,即在每个时间层上采用算子分裂法将N-S方程分裂成扩散项和对流项,这样既能考虑对流占优特点又能顾及方程的扩散性质。扩散项是一个抛物型方程,时间离散采用向后差分格式,空间离散采用标准Galerkin有限元法。对流项的时间项采用后向差分格式,非线性部分用牛顿法进行线性化处理,再用最小二乘有限元法进行空间离散,得到对称正定的代数方程组系数矩阵。采用Re=1000的方腔流对该算法的有效性进行检验,表明其具有较高的精度,能够很好地捕捉流场中的涡结构。同时,对圆柱层流绕流进行了数值研究,通过流线图、压力场、阻力系数、升力系数及斯特劳哈数等结果的分析与对比,表明本文算法对于模拟圆柱层流绕流是准确和可靠的。  相似文献

A new method based on the anisotropic tensor force finite element and Taylor-Galerkin finite element is presented in the present paper. Its application to two-dimensional viscous transonic flow in turbomachinery improves the convergence rate and stability of calculation, and the results obtained agree well with the experimental measurements.  相似文献
