A multigrid convergence acceleration technique has been developed for solving both the Navier–Stokes and turbulence transport equations. For turbulence closure a low-Reynolds-number q–ω turbulence model is employed. To enable convergence, the stiff non-linear turbulent source terms have to be treated in a special way. Further modifications to standard multigrid methods are necessary for the resolution of shock waves in supersonic flows. An implicit LU algorithm is used for numerical time integration. Several ramped duct test cases are presented to demonstrate the improvements in performance of the numerical scheme. Cases with strong shock waves and separation are included. It is shown to be very effective to treat fluid and turbulence equations with the multigrid method. A comparison with experimental data demonstrates the accuracy of the q–ω turbulence closure for the simulation of supersonic flows. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. The aim of this work is to present a new numerical method to compute turbulent flows in complex configurations. With this in view, a k-? model with wall functions has been introduced in a mixed finite volume/finite element method. The numerical method has been developed to deal with compressible flows but is also able to compute nearly incompressible flows. The physical model and the numerical method are first described, then validation results for an incompressible flow over a backward-facing step and for a supersonic flow over a compression ramp are presented. Comparisons are performed with experimental data and with other numerical results. These simulations show the ability of the present method to predict turbulent flows, and this method will be applied to simulate complex industrial flows (flow inside the combustion chamber of gas turbine engines). The main goal of this paper is not to test turbulence models, but to show that this numerical method is a solid base to introduce more sophisticated turbulence model.  相似文献

Simulation and Modelling of Turbulent Trailing-Edge Flow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Computations of turbulent trailing-edge flow have been carried out at a Reynolds number of 1000 (based on the free-stream quantities and the trailing-edge thickness) using an unsteady 3D Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes (URANS) code, in which two-equation (k–ε) turbulence models with various low-Re near wall treatments were implemented. Results from a direct numerical simulation (DNS) of the same flow are available for comparison and assessment of the turbulence models used in the URANS code. Two-dimensional URANS calculations are carried out with turbulence mean properties from the DNS used at the inlet; the inflow boundary-layer thickness is 6.42 times the trailing-edge thickness, close to typical turbine blade flow applications. Many of the key flow features observed in DNS are also predicted by the modelling; the flow oscillates in a similar way to that found in bluff-body flow with a von Kármán vortex street produced downstream. The recirculation bubble predicted by unsteady RANS has a similar shape to DNS, but with a length only half that of the DNS. It is found that the unsteadiness plays an important role in the near wake, comparable to the modelled turbulence, but that far downstream the modelled turbulence dominates. A spectral analysis applied to the force coefficient in the wall normal direction shows that a Strouhal number based on the trailing-edge thickness is 0.23, approximately twice that observed in DNS. To assess the modelling approximations, an a priori analysis has been applied using DNS data for the key individual terms in the turbulence model equations. An asymptotic analysis of the equations describing supersonic turbulent flow over an adiabatic wall is carried out for high Reynolds numbers, Re, and mainstream Mach numbers, M e=O(1). A general expression for the adiabatic-wall temperature is derived. The asymptotic theory constrains the types of turbulence models that are suitable to represent the effects of viscous dissipation. High‐order accurate DG discretization is employed for Reynolds‐averaged Navier–Stokes equations modeling of complex shock‐dominated, unsteady flow generated by gas issuing from a shock tube nozzle. The DG finite element discretization framework is used for both the flow field and turbulence transport. Turbulent flow in the near wall regions and the flow field is modeled by the Spalart–Allmaras one‐equation model. The effect of rotation on turbulence modeling for shock‐dominated supersonic flows is considered for accurate resolution of the large coherent and vortical structures that are of interest in high‐speed combustion and supersonic flows. Implicit time marching methodologies are used to enable large time steps by avoiding the severe time step limitations imposed by the higher order DG discretizations and the source terms. Sufficiently high mesh density is used to enable crisp capturing of discontinuities. A p ? type refinement procedure is employed to accurately represent the vortical structures generated during the development of the flow. 针对超声速多尺度复杂流动问题,发展了一种高精度并行算法。计算格式采用五阶迎风紧致格式,用特征型通量限制方法抑制非物理振荡。在对接边界处采用五阶WENO格式,以保证整个计算域内计算精度一致。通过网格分区和数据交换,在MPI平台实现了并行计算。通过超声速算例对算法进行了验证,并对并行效率和加速比进行了分析。最后,将算法应用于超声速转捩、湍流问题的数值模拟。计算结果表明,提出的算法具有较高的精度和分辨率,对接边界光滑连续,并且并行效率较高,在高超声速湍流流动数值模拟中取得了较好的应用效果。  相似文献

This paper presents a numerical simulation of the flow resulting from transverse jet injection into a supersonic flow through a slot nozzle at different pressures in the injected jet and the crossflow. Calculations on grids with different resolutions use the Spalart–Allmaras turbulence model, the kε model, the kω model, and the SST model. Based on a comparison of the calculated and experimental data on the wall pressure distribution, the length of the recirculation area, and the depth of jet penetration into the supersonic flow, conclusions are made on the accuracy of the calculation results for the different turbulence models and the applicability of these models to similar problems.  相似文献

An implicit unfactored method for the coupled solution of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations with two-equation turbulence models is presented. Both fluid-flow and turbulence transport equations are discretized by a characteristics-based scheme. The implicit unfactored method combines Newton subiterations and point-by-point Gauss–Seidel subrelaxation. Implicit-coupled and -decoupled strategies are compared for their efficiency in the solution of the Navier–Stokes equations in conjunction with low-Re two-equation turbulence models. Computations have been carried out for the flow over an axisymmetric bump using the k–ϵ and k–ω models. Comparisons have been obtained with experimental data and other numerical solutions. The present study reveals that the implicit unfactored implementation of the two-equation turbulence models reduces the computing time and improves the robustness of the CFD code in turbulent compressible flows. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The baseline numerical procedure of interest in this study combines flux vector splitting, flux difference splitting and an explicit treatment of the diffusion terms of the flow equations. The viscous terms are treated explicitly to preserve the wave propagation properties of the Euler fluxes and permit splitting. The experience with this scheme has been limited to laminar or, at best, ‘eddy viscosity’ flows. In this paper the applicability of the scheme is extended to include the calculation of turbulent Reynolds stresses in supersonic flows. The schemes and our implementation are discussed. Both laminar and turbulence subsets of the Reynolds/Favre-averaged equations are tested, with a discussion of relative performance. The test problem for turbulence consists of a zero-pressure-gradient supersonic boundary layer as well as a supersonic boundary layer experiencing the combined effects of adverse pressure gradient, bulk compression and a concave streamline curvature. Excellent agreement with experimental measurements is observed for most of the quantities compared, which suggests that the numerical procedures presented in this paper are potentially very useful.  相似文献

External heat transfer prediction is performed in two-dimensional turbine blade cascades using the Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations. For this purpose, six different turbulence models including the algebraic Baldwin–Lomax (AIAA paper 78-257, 1978), three low-Re k−ɛ models (Chien in AIAA J 20:33–38, 1982; Launder and Sharma in Lett Heat Mass Transf 1(2):131–138, 1974; Biswas and Fukuyama in J Turbomach 116:765–773, 1994), and two k−ω models (Wilcox in AIAA J 32(2):247–255, 1994) are taken into account. The computer code developed employs a finite volume method to solve governing equations based on an explicit time marching approach with capability to simulate subsonic, transonic and supersonic flows. The Roe method is used to decompose the inviscid fluxes and the gradient theorem to decompose viscous fluxes. The performance of different turbulence models in prediction of heat transfer is examined. To do so, the effect of Reynolds and Mach numbers along with the turbulent intensity are taken into account, and the numerical results obtained are compared with the experimental data available.  相似文献

The results of calculating a supersonic turbulent boundary layer on a heated surface on the basis of the algebraic two-parameter (k-ε) and four-parameter (k-ε-θ 2-ε 6) models of turbulence are compared with experimental data. Emphasis is placed on the ability of the models to predict the behavior of the friction and heat-transfer coefficients on a heated surface. The optimal model of turbulence is chosen. The possibility of improving the efficiency of viscous drag reduction by localizing the regions of heat addition to the boundary layer is demonstrated on the basis of numerical calculations. Moscow.  A methodology of experimentation in high supersonic wind tunnels for studying aerodynamic characteristics of hypersonic flying vehicles powered by air-breathing engines is discussed. Investigations of such total aerodynamic forces as drag, lift and pitching moment at testing the models are implicit when the air flow through the model ducts is accomplished so that to provide the simulation of the external flow around the airplane and flow over the inlets, but the operating engines and, hence, the exhaust jets are not modeled. The methods used for testing such models are based on the measurement of duct stream parameters alongside with the balance measurement of aerodynamic forces acting on the models. In the tests, aerometric tools are used such as narrow metering nozzles (plugs), pitot and static pressure probes, stagnation temperature probes and pressure orifices in walls of the model duct. The aerometric data serve to determine the flow rate and momentum of the stream at the duct exit. The internal non-simulated forces of the model ducts are also determined using the conservation equations for energy, mass flow and momentum, and these forces are eliminated from the aerodynamic test results. The techniques of the said model testing have been well developed as applied to supersonic aircraft, however their application for hypersonic vehicles whose models are tested at high supersonic speeds, Mach number M >4, implies some specific features. In the present paper, the results of experimental and theoretical study of these features are discussed. Some experimental data on aerodynamics of hypersonic aircraft models received in methodological tests are also presented. The tunnel experiments have been carried out in the Mach number range M =2–6. 计算流体动力学是湍流研究的重要手段, 其中雷诺平均模拟在航空航天等实际工程中得到了广泛应用. 雷诺平均模拟的结果很大程度上依赖于湍流模型的预测精度, 而实际工程应用中常用的模型往往精度有限. 近年来, 数据驱动的湍流建模方法得到越来越多的关注. 本文介绍了基于基因表达式编程 (gene-expression programming, GEP) 方法的湍流建模相关进展. 本文首先讨论基因表达式编程应用于湍流建模的具体方法, 包括基本算法、显式代数应力模型和湍流传热两种建模框架、模型测试方法以及损失函数设置等. 在此基础上, 基因表达式编程方法被应用于涡轮叶栅尾流混合、竖直平板间自然对流、三维横向流中的射流等问题. 结果表明, GEP可以有效提升常用模型对于尾流混合损失、壁面热通量等关键参数的预测精度. 基因表达式编程方法可以显式给出模型方程, 因此模型具有可解释性强等特点. 基于双向耦合方法得到的模型还被证明具有较好的后验测试精度和鲁棒性. 基因表达式编程方法还被初步应用于大涡模拟亚格子应力和边界层转捩等问题的建模, 在不同湍流建模领域表现出很大的潜力.   相似文献

 Mean velocities and turbulence characteristics of a turbulent plane offset jet with a small offset ratio of 2.125 have been studied using laser Doppler anemometry (LDA). Static pressure measurements highlight the importance of side plates in enhancing two-dimensionality of the jet. The spatial distributions of turbulence intensities and Reynolds shear stress show a high turbulence recirculating flow region close to the nozzle plate between the jet and the offset plate. The LDA results have been used to examine the capability of three different turbulence models (i.e. k–ɛ, RNG and Reynolds stress) in predicting the velocity field of this jet. While all three models are able to predict qualitatively the recirculation, converging and reattachment regions observed experimentally, the standard k–ɛ turbulence model predicts a reattachment length that best agrees with the experimentally determined value. The applicability of a finite element-differential method to the computation of steady two-dimensional low-speed, transonic and supersonic turbulent boundary-layer flows is investigated. The turbulence model chosen for the Reynolds shear stress and turbulent heat flux is the K-? two-equation model. Calculations are extended up to the wall and the exact values of the dependent variables at the wall are used as boundary conditions. A number of transformations are carried out and the assumed solutions at a longitudinal station are represented by complete cubic spline functions. In essence, the method converts the governing partial differential equations into a system of ordinary differential equations by a weighted residuals method and invokes an ordinary differential equation solver for the numerical integration of the reduced initial-value problem. The results of the computations reveal that the method is highly accurate and efficient. Furthermore, the accuracy and applicability of the k-? turbulence model are examined by comparing results of the computations with experimental data. The agreement is very good.  相似文献

The previously developed single-sweep parabolized Navier-Stokes (SSPNS) space marching code for ideal gas flows has been extended to compute chemically nonequilibrium flows. In the code, the strongly coupled set of gas dynamics, species conservation, and turbulence equations is integrated with the implicit lower-upper symmetric Gauss-Seidel (LU-SGS) method in the streamwise direction in a space marching manner. The AUSMPW+ scheme is used to calculate the inviscid fluxes in the crossflow direction, while the conventional central scheme for the viscous fluxes. The k-g two-equation turbulence model is used. The revised SSPNS code is validated by computing the Burrows-Kurkov non-premixed H2/air supersonic combustion flows, premixed H2/air hypersonic combustion flows in a three-dimensional duct with a 15° compression ramp, as well as the hypersonic laminar chemically nonequilibrium air flows around two 10° half-angle cones. The results of these calculations are in good agreement with those of experiments, NASA UPS or Prabhu's PNS codes. It can be concluded that the SSPNS code is highly efficient for steady supersonic/ hypersonic chemically reaction flows when there is no large streamwise separation.  相似文献

Variants of the bi-conjugate gradient (Bi-CG) method are used to resolve the problem of slow convergence in CFD when it is applied to complex flow field simulation using higher-order turbulence models. In this study the Navier-Stokes and Reynolds stress transport equations are discretized with an implicit, total variation diminishing (TVD), finite volume formulation. The preconditioning technique of incomplete lower-upper (ILU) factorization is incorporated into the conjugate gradient square (CGS), bi-conjugate gradient stable (Bi-CGSTAB) and transpose-free quasi-minimal residual (TFQMR) algorithms to accelerate convergence of the overall itertive methods. Computations have been carried out for separated flow fields over transonic bumps, supersonic bases and supersonic compression corners. By comparisons of the convergence rate with each other and with the conventional approximate factorization (AF) method it is shown that the Bi-CGSTAB method gives the most efficient convergence rate among these methods and can speed up the CPU time by a factor of 2·4–6·5 as compared with the AF method. Moreover, the AF method may yield somewhat different results from variants of the Bi-CG method owing to the factorization error which introduces a higher level of convergence criterion.  相似文献

A quasi-three-dimensional multilayer k– ϵ model has been developed to simulate turbulent recirculating flows behind a sudden expansion in shallow waters. The model accounts for the vertical variation in the flow quantities and eliminates the problem of closure for the effective stresses resulting from the depth integration of the non-linear convective accelerations found in the widely used depth- integrated models. The governing equations are split into three parts in the finite difference solution: advection, dispersion and propagation. The advection part is solved using the four-node minimax–characteristics method. The dispersion and propagation parts are treated by the central difference method, the former being solved explicitly and the latter implicitly using the Gauss–Seidel iteration method. The relative effect of bed-generated turbulence and transverse shear-generated turbulence on the recirculating flow has been studied in detail. In comparison with the results computed by the depth-integrated k–ϵ model, the results computed by the present model are found to be closer to the reported data.  相似文献

The flow and temperature fields of a turbulent impinging jet are rather complex. In order to accurately describe the flow and heat-transfer process, two important factors that must be taken into account are the turbulence model and the wall function. Several turbulence models, including κ–? turbulence models, κ–ω turbulence models, low-Re turbulence models, the κ–κl–ω turbulence model, the Transition SST turbulence model, the V2F turbulence model and the RSM turbulence model, are examined and compared to experimental data. Furthermore, for the near wall region, various wall functions are presented for comparison and they include the standard wall function, the scale wall function, the non-equilibrium wall function and the enhanced wall function. The distribution features of velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and Nusselt number are determined in order to provide a reliable reference for the multiphase impinging jet in the future.  相似文献

The standard k-ε model and three low-Reynolds number k-ε models were used to simulate pipe flow with a ring device installed in the near-wall region. Both developing and fully developed turbulent pipe flows have been investigated. Turbulence suppression for fully developed pipe flows revealed by hot-wire measurements has been predicted with all three low-Reynolds number models, and turbulence enhancement has been predicted by the standard k-ε model. All three low-Reynolds number models have predicted similar distributions of velocities, turbulence kinetic energy, and dissipation rate. For developing pipe flows, the region of turbulence suppression predicted by the three low-Reynolds number models is much more extensive (up to 30 pipe diameters downstream of the device) than for full developed flow; whereas the standard k-ε model has only predicted turbulence enhancement.  相似文献
