Bongartz(2013) and Ringel(2011) proved that there is no gaps in the sequence of lengths of indecomposable modules for the ?nite-dimensional algebras over algebraically closed ?elds. The present paper mainly studies this "no gaps" theorem as to cohomological length for the bounded derived category Db(A) of a gentle algebra A: if there is an indecomposable object in D~b(A) of cohomological length l 1, then there exists an indecomposable with cohomological length l-1.  相似文献

By a theorem due to the first author, the bounded derived category of a finite dimensional algebra over a field embeds fully faithfully into the stable category over its repetitive algebra. This embedding is an equivalence if the algebra is of finite global dimension. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between the derived category and the stable category over the repetitive algebra from various points of view for algebras of infinite global dimension. The most satisfactory results are obtained for Gorenstein algebras, especially for selfinjective algebras.  相似文献

We define the global cohomological range for artin algebras, and define the derived bounded algebras to be the algebras with finite global cohomological range, then we prove the first Brauer–Thrall type theorem for bounded derived categories of artin algebras, i.e., derived bounded algebras are precisely the derived finite algebras. Moreover, the main theorem establishes that the derived bounded artin algebras are just piecewise hereditary algebras of Dynkin type, and can be also characterized as those artin algebras with derived dimension zero, which can be regarded as a generalization of the results of Han–Zhang [11 Han, Y., Zhang, C. Brauer-Thrall type theorems for derived category, arXiv:1310.2777. [Google Scholar], Theorem 1] and Chen–Ye–Zhang [4 Chen, X. W., Ye, Y., Zhang, P. (2008). Algebras of derived dimension zero. Comm. Algebra 36:110.[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar], Theorem] in the context of finite-dimensional algebras over algebraically closed fields, respectively.  相似文献

The finite dimensional tame hereditary algebras are associated with the extended Dynkin diagrams. An indecomposable module over such an algebra is either preprojective or preinjective or lies in a family of tubes whose tubular type is the corresponding Dynkin diagram. The study of one-point extensions by simple regular modules in such tubes was initiated in [Ri].

We generalise this approach by starting out with algebras which are derived equivalent to a tame hereditary algebra and considering one-point extensions by modules which are simple regular in tubes in the derived category. If the obtained tubular type is again a Dynkin diagram these algebras are called derived Dynkin extensions.

Our main theorem says that a representation infinite algebra is derived equivalent to a tame hereditary algebra iff it is an iterated derived Dynkin extension of a tame concealed algebra. As application we get a new proof of a theorem in [AS] about domestic tubular branch enlargements which uses the derived category instead of combinatorial arguments.  相似文献

The first Brauer-Thrall conjecture asserts that algebras of bounded representation type have finite representation type. This conjecture was solved by Roiter in 1968. The induction scheme which he used in his proof prompted Gabriel to introduce an invariant which we propose to call Gabriel-Roiter measure. This invariant is defined for any finite length module and it will be studied in detail in this paper. Whereas Roiter and Gabriel were dealing with algebras of bounded representation type only, it is the purpose of the present paper to demonstrate the relevance of the Gabriel-Roiter measure for algebras in general, in particular for those of infinite representation type.  相似文献

Graham and Lehrer have defined cellular algebras and developed a theory that allows in particular to classify simple representations of finite dimensional cellular algebras. Many classes of finite dimensional algebras, including various Hecke algebras and diagram algebras, have been shown to be cellular, and the theory due to Graham and Lehrer successfully has been applied to these algebras. We will extend the framework of cellular algebras to algebras that need not be finite dimensional over a field. Affine Hecke algebras of type A and infinite dimensional diagram algebras like the affine Temperley–Lieb algebras are shown to be examples of our definition. The isomorphism classes of simple representations of affine cellular algebras are shown to be parameterised by the complement of finitely many subvarieties in a finite disjoint union of affine varieties. In this way, representation theory of non-commutative algebras is linked with commutative algebra. Moreover, conditions on the cell chain are identified that force the algebra to have finite global cohomological dimension and its derived category to admit a stratification; these conditions are shown to be satisfied for the affine Hecke algebra of type A if the quantum parameter is not a root of the Poincaré polynomial.  相似文献

A derived version of Maschke’s theorem for finite groups is proved: the derived categories, bounded or unbounded, of all blocks of the group algebra of a finite group are simple, in the sense that they admit no nontrivial recollements. This result is independent of the characteristic of the base field.  相似文献

In association with a finite dimensional algebra A of global dimension two, we consider the endomorphism algebra of A, viewed as an object in the triangulated hull of the orbit category of the bounded derived category, in the sense of Amiot. We characterize the algebras A of global dimension two such that its endomorphism algebra is isomorphic to a cluster-tilted algebra with a cyclically oriented quiver. Furthermore, in the case that the cluster tilted algebra with a cyclically oriented quiver is of Dynkin or extended Dynkin type then A is derived equivalent to a hereditary algebra of the same type.  相似文献

The strong global dimension of a finite dimensional algebra A is the maximum of the width of indecomposable bounded differential complexes of finite dimensional projective A-modules. We prove that the strong global dimension of a finite dimensional radical square zero algebra A over an algebraically closed field is finite if and only if A is piecewise hereditary. Moreover, we discuss results concerning the finiteness of the strong global dimension of algebras and the related problem on the density of the push-down functors associated to the canonical Galois coverings of the trivial extensions of algebras by their repetitive algebras.  相似文献

Using a relative version of Auslander's formula, we give a functorial approach to show that the bounded derived category of every Artin algebra admits a categorical resolution. This, in particular, implies that the bounded derived categories of Artin algebras of finite global dimension determine bounded derived categories of all Artin algebras. Hence, this paper can be considered as a typical application of functor categories, introduced in representation theory by Auslander(1971), to categorical resolutions.  相似文献

Mainly motivated by Pirashvili's spectral sequences on a Leibniz algebra, a cohomological characterization of Leibniz central extensions of Lie algebras is given. In particular, as applications, we obtain the cohomological version of Gao's main theorem for Kac-Moody algebras and answer a question in an earlier paper by Liu and Hu (2004).

Consideration of quotient-bounded elements in a locally convexGB *-algebra leads to the study of properGB *-algebras viz those that admit nontrivial quotient-bounded elements. The construction and structure of such algebras are discussed. A representation theorem for a properGB *-algebra representing it as an algebra of unbounded Hilbert space operators is obtained in a form that unifies the well-known Gelfand-Naimark representation theorem forC *-algebra and two other representation theorems forb *-algebras (also calledlmc *-algebras), one representinga b *-algebra as an algebra of quotient bounded operators and the other as a weakly unbounded operator algebra. A number of examples are discussed to illustrate quotient-bounded operators. An algebra of unbounded operators constructed out of noncommutativeL p-spaces on a regular probability gauge space and the convolution algebra of periodic distributions are analyzed in detail; whereas unbounded Hilbert algebras andL w-integral of a measurable field ofC *-algebras are discussed briefly.  相似文献

The motivation of this paper is to study the natural quiver of an artinian algebra, a new kind of quivers, as a tool independing upon the associated basic algebra. In Li (J Aust Math Soc 83:385–416, 2007), the notion of the natural quiver of an artinian algebra was introduced and then was used to generalize the Gabriel theorem for non-basic artinian algebras splitting over radicals and non-basic finite dimensional algebras with 2-nilpotent radicals via pseudo path algebras and generalized path algebras respectively. In this paper, firstly we consider the relationship between the natural quiver and the ordinary quiver of a finite dimensional algebra. Secondly, the generalized Gabriel theorem is obtained for radical-graded artinian algebras. Moreover, Gabriel-type algebras are introduced to outline those artinian algebras satisfying the generalized Gabriel theorem here and in Li (J Aust Math Soc 83:385–416, 2007). For such algebras, the uniqueness of the related generalized path algebra and quiver holds up to isomorphism in the case when the ideal is admissible. For an artinian algebra, there are two basic algebras, the first is that associated to the algebra itself; the second is that associated to the correspondent generalized path algebra. In the final part, it is shown that for a Gabriel-type artinian algebra, the first basic algebra is a quotient of the second basic algebra. In the end, we give an example of a skew group algebra in which the relation between the natural quiver and the ordinary quiver is discussed.  相似文献

We define and study algebraically flat algebras in order to have a better understanding of algebraically projective algebras of finite type (the projective algebras of literature). A close examination of the differential properties of these algebras leads to our main structure theorem. As a corollary, we get that an algebraically projective algebra of finite type over a field is either a polynomial ring or the affine algebra of a complete intersection.  相似文献

A Jordan–Hölder theorem is established for derived module categories of piecewise hereditary algebras, in particular for representations of quivers and for hereditary abelian categories of a geometric nature. The resulting composition series of derived categories are shown to be independent of the choice of bounded or unbounded derived module categories, and also of the choice of finitely generated or arbitrary modules.  相似文献

We introduce the notation of weakly derived tameness, and establish the equivalence of derived tameness and weakly derived tameness for algebras of finite global dimension. Moreover, we observe the relation between derived representation type and cleaving functors, and obtain a method to judge an algebra to be derived wild. As an application, we determine the derived representation type of self-injective Nakayama algebras.  相似文献

Over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero simple Lie algebras admit outer automorphisms of order 3 if and only if they are of type D4. Moreover, thereare two conjugacy classes of such automorphisms. Among orthogonal Lie algebras over arbitrary fields of characteristic zero, only orthogonal Lie algebras relative to quadratic norm forms of Cayley algebras admit outer automorphisms of order 3. We give a complete list of conjugacy classes of outer automorphisms of order 3 for orthogonal Lie algebras over arbitrary fields of characteristic zero. For the norm form of a given Cayley algebra, one class is associated with the Cayley algebra and the others with central simple algebras of degree 3 with involution of the second kind such that the cohomological invariant of the involution is the norm form.  相似文献

In this paper we study finite dimensional algebras arising from categories of perverse sheaves on finite regular cell complexes (cellular perverse algebras). We prove that such algebras are quasi-hereditary and have finite global dimension. We discuss some restrictions, under which cellular perverse algebras are Koszul. We also study the relationship between Koszul duality functors in the derived categories of categories of graded and non-graded modules over an algebra and its quadratic dual.  相似文献

Different notions of amenability on hypergroups and their relations are studied. Developing Leptin's theorem for discrete hypergroups, we characterize the existence of a bounded approximate identity for hypergroup Fourier algebras. We study the Leptin condition for discrete hypergroups derived from the representation theory of some classes of compact groups. Studying amenability of the hypergroup algebras for discrete commutative hypergroups, we obtain some results on amenability properties of some central Banach algebras on compact and discrete groups.  相似文献
